I own a 2nd home at Alpine Meadows and my renter texted me on a Friday night saying they don't have hot water.  On Saturday morning, I called another local Tahoe City plumber (Tahoe Best Plumbing) who was away but recommended another plumber at Squaw Valley (North Lake Plumbing).  As soon as North Lake Plumber (Ken) heard that this water heater was a high-altitude water heater I had purchased from Ace Hardware in Truckee, he said I would just be throwing good money after bad, and he refused to even go see this problem unless I agreed to replacing the entire water heater with a water heater he carries and he would install.  His solution, without looking at the problem, was to replace my 6-year new high altitude propane water heater, and he quoted $2,000.  

I thought it might have been a thermo couple problem but he refused to work on any water heater purchased from any hardware stores (like Ace Hardware in Truckee).

I called Ace Hardware and they were surprised to learn this.  They recommend me to Mike.  When I called Mike, rather than saying it's a Saturday and it would cost more (like Ken from North Lake), he asked me to send him some photos of the heater label, the heating assembly, and within 1 hour of me calling him, Mike promptly came to my place on a Saturday and fixed the problem.

He then said:  let's give it a day and see if your renters report any issues.  Totally professional!

Then on Sunday night, after my renters checked out with no problems, then then sent me a text detailing his work, and indeed, it was a thermo couple issue like I thought, which he replaced on a Saturday at a very reasonable price of less than $200.

I would absolutely use Mike again and again and will strongly recommend him to anyone I know.  He has just become my Go-To guy for all other plumbing jobs for the properties I own up in the Tahoe area.

Excellent service.  Really nice young man replaced a gas valve that wasn't working properly.  In and out quickly.  Reasonable price.  Very impressed.  Would recommend them.

So I apologize to have to do this but I must change my review. Steven did great work but then out of nowhere went silent. I saw he was still helping others. I was frankly confused and hurt. I texted, called, left voicemails and emails and heard nothing. Today I got his bill in the mail with no explanation or apology for the last 8 months.

Ray called me back, unlike the many others plumbers I had left messages for. He showed up timely and was very courteous and professional! He did am excellent job and didn't price gouge me. I would definitely recommend this company!

We smelled gas in our Tahoe vacation home and called Southwest Gas to take a look.  They found a leak in the water heater valve and turned off the gas.  I was very anxious to get hot water back and pored through the yelp reviews until I found Joe at Glencoe.  He answered the phone--and right away said he could come over that afternoon.  Then he called back and said he could come by sooner.  He arrived shortly, took a look, we talked about options and made a decision.  Then he was off to get the new water heater and parts.  When he returned he got the new one installed in under 2 hours.  He is a true professional, I really recommend him.

We just moved into a new to us Older home in Old NW reno.  jack was next door doing some work on our just moved in neighbors while I was raking leaves so I asked for a card.  I mean you never know.  1 hour later my kithen faucet was leaking. I even waited for him to finish next door, but I missed him as he was driving away.  Called 2 days later, he was there within hours.  Sink was fixed right away.  he is SPOTLESS not dirty at all.  And he has a new customer.  if you are new he even gives you a first time reduced rate.  Thanks so much Jack!

He came to set up my swamp cooler about a month ago.  It needed a belt and he finally came back last week, then it started leaking water the next day and he came back and said it needed a new float.  He took the old one off to replace the next day but never showed up and was paid in full.  Turns out he had ripped the old float off instead of taking it off the right way and it had to be jury rigged in order to run the cooler and water supply at all.  Now the cooler is basically a useless piece of junk and scared at what other damage he may have done.  No telling how long it will last like this.  What a jerk.  Do not deal with this guy!  He was never on time always running hours late or never showing up at all.  I'll be filing other complaints against him as well with the BBB, Nevada Attorney Generals Office, etc.....I also want people to know they can file complaints against unlicensed contractors with the Nevada State Contractors Board and they should do so.

They had our review removed stating it was for the wrong company. I had it on the right one so now so I am putting it back.

We hired all hours air to come fix our oil furnace and unfortunately had to hire someone else to come out because they couldn't seem to get the job done right. We have an oil furnace but system was rebuilt recently and in great condition. When we had them come out they told us we needed a new part and offered to install it 2 days later. Two days later someone shows up and half way installs the part and leaves. We call back telling them the problem wasn't fixed and that the settings were never adjusted back to the normal ones. They send out someone different who does some more work and leaves. That tech couldn't be bothered to put the door back on and left it in the middle of the walk way in the basement. That is incredibly lazy especially after we paid 600+ dollars. Again, the problem continued. So after multiple visits and half of the people we dealt with were unprofessional we decided it was time to call someone else. Also, we had a quote done for a completely new service. They quoted us 25,000$ and the guy was a total jerk. I won't be spending 25,000$ to be treated like crap especially after they couldn't fix my current one for 600$.

My wife and I were contacted by this company after leaving this review and point blank asked to take the review down in exchange for a full refund. Being as we hired this company because of their review we had an ethical issue with this, so we chose not to respond despite several attempts to contact both my wife and I regarding a refund for removal.

The estimate was cut short because the salesman was unable to quote me on a heat pump with a backup electric resistance heater and was unable to acknowledge the fact that several of the normally charged items were not applicable to our situation. If not listening to your customer and failing to absorb their input is not rude, I don't know what is.

As far as not being at my appointments, I was not there for one because the tech did not show up until well after they were supposed to. If there is any question of this contact me and I will provide there appointment text messages indicating that I was transferred to three different techs and the time frame was changed.

Also, one of the men who installed a part on my furnace was not a trained HVAC man per the rep who contacted me regarding the pay to delete. He is being trained as an HVAC tech, but is actually currently a plumber. It's great that they allowed him to work on my oil furnace.

Since this review I had another company service my furnace and they solved the problem with a $17 nozzle. Seems to me this company failed miserably and is attempting to cover their mistakes with refunds for review deletion. Terrible.

We had the most exceptional service experience recently with an emergency AC need. In the middle of the night, our AC failed to cool.  As soon as daybreak occurred, I gave a call to Paul's Heating and Air. They immediately scheduled me for the next appointment on a Monday morning! The scheduler gave me a 2-hour arrival window. 20 minutes before my appointment I received a phone call that Tyler was on his way. Tyler was prompt, professional, and efficient in his instant diagnosis of our problem. He had parts on his truck ready to get our air conditioner cooling again quickly. There was no upselling and no shady tactics. His fees were very reasonable and straightforward. I highly recommend that you call Paul's Heating and Air, for any new installation or repairs that you need. Tell them that a happy customer referred you!

We live in the Bay Area and our friends let us know a pipe froze and burst. We  called Terry and he went straight to our cabin and called me with a quote. I gave him the OK and he had the pipe repaired in only two hours. His price was extremely reasonable and allowed me to mail him a check. It doesn't get any better than that.
I would recommend Mackinaw to anyone who needs a plumber on the North Shore.

I had a problem at my home and called three plumbers but no one returned my call. I found Bemiss Plumbing on line and gave them a call.  Don answered the phone and was at my house within twenty minutes and took care of the problem.  I call that great service!

Hartley and Anthony we're both excellent with their craft and communication. Both were skillful, personable and likable. Mr. Bradley followed up with excellent quality control. He literally face timed the team in the field to see the quality of work. Also, we had a malfunction with equipment  and they returned free of charge to correct it!!

Customer service is well above expectation with this company!! We will be using Bradley Plumbing for multiple projects over the next couple months and will use them well into the future.

Fixed up my leaking bib and my shower diverter valve and did a great job. Would recommend.

I first contacted Superior Drain Service on Tuesday, July 6th.  When they reached out to me we set up an appointment for the next day at 1pm at the cost of $150/hr.  At 10:24 the next morning I contacted them to inform them that the cooler was not needing repair any longer.  At 11:21 they informed me that they had already purchased the part they would need.  On July 11th, the cooler was on the blink again, so I called to make another appointment.  On July 12th their repairman came to fix the cooler.  He did a great job fixing the cooler in less than an hour.  No complaints there.  They charged me $316.00......2 hrs of labor and $16.00 for the part.  When I called to dispute the 2 hrs of labor, I wasn't treated very nicely.  They ended up charging me only $50.00 for time it took to purchase the part.  (Mind you, this was prior to ever looking at the cooler.)  I was told to go out and get estimates from other plumbers if I didn't like the price.  I know how much plumbers charge.  My complaint was that I have never been charged for a plumber to go to the store to purchase a part days before the repair.  I feel this is unethical.

These guys have horrible service. Parts were ordered and they told my plumber they would be shipped next day. Week later no part. Then they said they had trouble locating part. 3 more days go by. Each time we have to call them. Then they said part was there but couldn't find invoice. This went on for 3 weeks with calls several times each week. I finally went down there only to be told part was never ordered, invoice was sitting on his desk, cause the Guy went on vacation.
So what were they doing when they couldn't find the invoice the 1st time and I guess they don't cover for each other when on vacation. Nor think to look on person desk if something is missing. So 1 month without hot water in the mid of winter. Oh, and no apology!!!! Horrible
