Love the service, but very pricey! $400 to fix a leaking faucet. I didnt ask for a quote ahead of time, so that might be something to think about before choosing them.

It is June 24, 2013. I live in Reno, Nevada and I had a leak happen due to a nail that went thru the hot water line. I turned off the hot water line and realized I would need a Plumber. I got on the Internet and I put in Plumbers Reno Nevada. Up came The Dirty Plumber on Yelp. I had no idea about them. It was the reviews I went by for my thought to call them for the service I needed. I spoke with Jack-who told me he could come out today! He mentioned it would be later in the day & I said this would be fine. It happened that he called back and said he could make it earlier!! Boy, was I ever pleased. Amazing how much you need to use hot water! So, Jack showed up with is assistant & they were able to complete the new fittings that were needed in a short about of time at a very reasonable cost! I was very happy with this price. Jack is a very good Plumber. His assistant was also very good. You will not go wrong with The Dirty Plumber in Reno, Nevada. I truly made a good choice and I was very happy! Jack is also a great guy! Who knew I would be picking the right Plumber like I did!

We emailed Jack asking for an estimate to replace our hose bib. He replied within 30 minutes with the price (which was quite lower than many competitors!!!); we set a date and time and he was great at trying to accommodate our needs.
When he arrived, he realized he didn't really need to replace the whole piece so he fixed everything and charged us less than the estimate!
One piece was leaking and, when we called him, he came back right away and fixed it!

We hired Jack after waiting a month for another plumber to fix a dripping shower head, including ordering the wrong part. Jack immediately knew what the problem was and had the correct part within a week. When the handle on the same shower wouldn't work, Jack knew what was wrong from our call and showed up with the part to fix it the same day! He is responsive, prompt, knowledgeable, plans ahead and stands behind his work. He even has suggestions for future plumbing projects to save us some money.

Jack was THE only plumber in Reno to call me back after calling and leaving messages with over 10 companies. We have had him fix a failed pressure regulator, replaced toilet wax ring (leaking when flushed), flush valve and water line, tighten loose fittings, replaced the garbage disposer and improved the drain lines from the dishwasher and other sink to drain efficiently, and repaired/replaced two faulty bathroom sink faucets (manufacturer warranty replacement). His gets right to the point, doesn't sugar coat what is happening, and really knows his stuff when it comes to diagnosing issues and makes the right repairs.

After reading all the great reviews I decided to give Dirty Plumber a try for a water heater installation.

On the positive side, he really does seem to know his stuff. I believe I got a quality installation from an experienced plumber.

On the negative side I had four main issues that keep me from recommending him:

First, when he arrived the first thing he did was say the water heater i had gotten was total garbage. In fact, he said everything from lowes and home depot was total garbage. When a customer already has something, what's the point of doing that?

Second, my Job was quoted as a flat rate job and when it was done I was told the price was the same as I had been quoted so I wrote a check. He said he didn't have receipts so he'd have to drop one off later. However, the next day he called and said he needed basically 25% more money for the cost of the parts. He said he didn't tell me because he didn't have the parts receipts. Which makes no sense since he left my house to buy the parts and came back with the parts. Regardless, coming back the next day for more money on a flat rate job when no one, I'm mean no one, told me the price was going to go up for parts, isn't okay in my book.

Third, I ignored the fact he chewed and spit tobacco in my house because he covered the floor where he was working. However, as he was leaving and everything seemed good, bythe front door, he turned around twice as we were talking and spit on a rose bush of mine. What knd of manners is that?

Fourth, the effective price per hour was essentially $150, before the demand for more money. Really?

Net, if you are okay with a tobacco spitting, price inflating, very expensive, product bashing plumber, I whole heartedly recommend him. For me though, I will be using a different plumber in the future.

Had a faucet snap on me and needed help replacing it quickly. Dr Plumber came out within 4 hrs of my call, was very thorough and friendly, and charged a very reasonable rate! Even fixed up my bathroom faucet that was leaky with no extra charge. It was nice not having to deal with any run around of the big box companies & have a very professional service at the same time. They must have a lot of business because no one ever called me back. Worst thing is, when I called, a person answers the phone but then tell you to call another number to leave a message... What's the point of even having someone answer a phone? Some business advice is, have the person answering the phone, write down information and pass it to you at the end of the day.

Jack is the real deal. He has bailed us out twice. Once for a leaky toilet and then to finish the work of another loser plumber who left us in the lurch on our remodel. He charges much less than other guys and actually shows up and communicates. He isn't arrogant or afraid to do things right the first time. Don't hesitate calling him!

Jack installed a gas line in our backyard for our BBQ and firepit a couple years ago.  My wife and I got a few quotes and opinions from a few plumbers, but we immediately felt comfortable with Jack, and trusted him to do the job.  We ran into some problems due to other contractors' work in our backyard, but Jack took care of the problem solving and ended up taking care of it for us.  I would call Jack for future plumbing issues, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for plumbing work.

I have found a plumber that I'll use from now on! Jack was very professional and did a great job installing my waterline for my fridge, reconnecting my dishwasher that previous owner had installed incorrectly, and fixed two outdoor hose bibs that were dripping.

So, I gave this place a bad rating because we were charged $93 for an hours work and the plumber was only at our house for half hour and only took pictures and gave suggestions what to do. Dirty Plumber took my original review down, now I'm just down right pissed.  No wonder Dirty Plumber has great reviews...the bad are deleted off the page.

We noticed a hummimg and vibration in the floor when we would flush the toilets and run the washing machine and dishwasher. The Dirty Plumber was contacted Monday morning and they were at our home the following morning. Laz was punctual to the scheduled service time and the problem was quickly diagnosed. He explained the issue throughly before fixing it. Turns out the water pressure was low and the PRV needed an adjustment. Laz was here less than an hour and all was fixed, no more humming or vibrations. Our water pressure has really improved and we didn't know it was low to begin with. Very happy with the service! Very friendly staff.

Dirty Plumber is my PLUMBER OF CHOICE.  Jack and his team have completed (2) projects for me. The installation of a smart Moen kitchen faucet and the installation of a Rinnai gas tankless hot water heater. Both jobs were completed to a high level of expertise and it was a pleasure working with Jack and his team.  In addition, Dirty plumber is known for offering discounts to seniors, the military, realtors and property managers.  Jack is a honest, kind, and trustworthy person who supports Reno by giving much of his time to those in need in the community. Daughters water heater went out a week ago.  Tried to find someone who could replace in  a timely manner and reasonable pricing.  After going a week without a date, I called Dirty Plumber.  Jack was able to schedule the next day (at a good price).  He called to let me know his guy was on the way.  Showed up on time.  Very personable and professional, and operation of the heater was explained.  Clean and efficient.   I'll use them should I ever need a plumber myself.

We had a leaky copper pipe that caused a huge mess in our bathroom.  Apparently, when our home was being built, a construction worker nicked the pipe with a nail.  Over time, the area rusted out, and became a leak 20 years in the making.  Our home insurance company had a disaster cleanup company assess the problem, and they recommended a (different) plumber.  However, since I had a good experience with Jack previously for a different issue, I called him again for this problem.  He came out the same day, gave me a call within the estimated time, and was professional and efficient.  The price was reasonable, and I will be calling him again!

I guess I will have to continue the plumber love fest here!

We heeded to have a faucet installed in our sink and Jack was recommended to us by the guys at Western Nevada Supply. They totally steered us in the right direction.

He called us, set up a two hour time window to come to our condo and was there on time. WooHoo!

He installed the faucet and provided the extra parts that were needed to actually hook the thing up to the water source. Woo Hoo!

He also noticed a minor leak under the sink and fixed it at no extra charge Woo Hoo, and I am sure gratitude from the people in the unit below us.

The total charge was $100 - not bad for having to squeeze into that little narrow cupboard, wrestle with all the pipes and tubes, and do it with a professional attitude.

We just moved into a new to us Older home in Old NW reno.  jack was next door doing some work on our just moved in neighbors while I was raking leaves so I asked for a card.  I mean you never know.  1 hour later my kithen faucet was leaking. I even waited for him to finish next door, but I missed him as he was driving away.  Called 2 days later, he was there within hours.  Sink was fixed right away.  he is SPOTLESS not dirty at all.  And he has a new customer.  if you are new he even gives you a first time reduced rate.  Thanks so much Jack!

Had a kitchen faucet replaced. These guys are very competent and they are a union shop, so they are real plumbers. They do absolutely 5-star work. They're not cheap at $150/hr, but get the work finished quickly as possible. They also charge a $5 fuel surcharge. Overall, I highly recommend!

A previous plumbing company came and fixed a drain problem we were having but created another problem when they put the toilet back on the seal.  We keep getting a small puddle of water around the base of the toilet that we never had prior to the previous plumber visit .  When Dirty Plumber came to look at the issue, he insisted it was just condensation and refused to do anything about it.  He's never getting our business again.

Btw, if you read Jack's comment below, you would think he could put two and two together and realize its our landlord who made the decision to call a different plumber to fix the problem, not our decision.

I will call Jack the next time I need a plumber. He showed up on time, repaired the broken waste line from kitchen - not an easy job - using a far less destructive approach than another plumber suggested. He finished the job faster than he originally estimated, charged time and materials, and left absolutely zero mess. The new plumbing install was very clean. I was very pleased with his work. We will definitely recommend him to our friends and family.

My wife and I recently bought a vacation home up near Reno ... yea, I know what y'all are saying - Reno is no place to vacation. But we really like it and we can go to Tahoe real quickly and truth be told, I'm bit of a gambling addict.

Anyways, we need some help with our plumbing after we discovered a leak - I searched through my trusty Yelp app and came across Dirty Plumber. I found the Dirty Plumber on Yelp, and based on all of my experiences with Yelp (being great), I gave him a call.  Great experience.  Jack was on time, professional, knowledgeable, and knew exactly what was wrong.  He could have sold me a whole new water heater if he wanted, but fixed a small problem for a reasonable price.  You can't get better than that.  He even showed up before I went to work so I didn't have to come home in the middle of the day.  This is the only guy I am going to call when I need plumbing work done.

Our 28 year old hot water heater finally went out and was leaking into our garage. I called 2 plumbers but Dirty Plumber was the only one that called right back. They got me  into their schedule quickly and the team that they sent out did a very good job with the installation of our new smart tankless hot water heater. They kept us  informed about what was going on during the install and did a great job cleaning up.

As a new homeowner I went into panic mode when I came home to find my sprinkler pipe burst and gushed gallon after gallon of water all over the yard and driveway. My first thought was that this is surely going to cost thousands of dollars to fix and my second thought, of course, was who am I going to call to fix this disaster at 5 pm? In a moment of calm I thought of my old neighbor Jack and his company Dr. Plumber. I found his information and put in the call. He answered right away and even though he was on another job he promised to come to my house within the hour. Was I glad to see him and his rig. Literally within ten minutes of his arrival he and his assistant, Tom, fixed the problem and had my home up and running with water once again. He informed me on how to avoid this problem from here on out so that this didn't have to happen again. As an ignorant first time home owner I was so grateful to have his guidance, but what impressed me most was his honesty and frankness of what should be addressed immediately and what can and should be addressed later on in the spring. He even looked out for the best interest of our home by suggesting to unscrew and store some of the more valuable parts of our exposed sprinkler materials that are vulnerable to theft. Not many people care that much anymore.  I'm so glad to have Jack in our corner for our future plumbing catastrophes. He is a hero. Upon reading other reviews I can say that I receive the same professional and courteous treatment as his other reviewers which means he is reliably consistent! Thanks Dr. Plumber!!!

I help my daughter take care of her rental property and her property had a leaky hose bib underneath the deck. The bib was hard to get to to shut it off and needed to be relocated. I don't know if plumbing companies don't like to go into crawl spaces but I received 2 other bids for the job and
They both were over $1000.00. I called Dirty Plumber and although they didn't come out he gave me an estimate of  under $600.00. I told him that I wanted copper piping and he said no problem that they charge $175.00 an hour plus materials. At first I was somewhat skeptical because he didn't look at the job however the owner who I assumed I was talking to knew how long a job like that would take. Dirty plumber arrived on the job wearing a face mask and being very personable, his name was Henry K. Henry within 20 minutes got all of his supplies, tools organized and proceeded under the house to relocate hose bib. Within 2 hours the job was completely finished and no more leaky faucet and relocated with copper piping. The job total was $400.00. Less than what was quoted and way less than my other 2 bids. Henry was quick, and extremely knowledgeable in plumbing. I will certainly recommend this Company to anyone with plumbing needs. Many times I feel that women get taken advantage of area unfamiliar to them, this company is certainly top on my list now, THANK YOU SO MUCH!,

He did plumbing work on our house AND our grooming shop, and did an excellent job on both! Jack has done repairs at both my home and business. At home we set up an appointment with a 2-hour window and he arrived on time. At our business, same thing but he was able to come out the day we called. With his experience and knowledge Jack was able to suggest where I could save money on repairs and where spending a few dollars more would be beneficial to my long-term satisfaction. I recently worked for Jack the plumber. He can be a hard man to work for, but only because he is a perfectionist who demands things his way. I respect his work ethics and highly recommend him. I quit my job to move on to a trade I am more experienced in and I am glad to have worked for him because he taught me a little more than I already knew about plumbing. His advertising is correct, his wages always fair. Before I worked for him my sister hired him to do work on her house and was happy with the job he did.  Chris

I selected this plumber because of his Yelp reviews and the first place I called couldn't give me an estimate until late in the evening. Since like most Americans I want things now, I moved on to the Dirty Plumber. I am glad I did. I had me estimate right away and the job was done the same day. He treated me with respect, did what he said he would do, did a little extra, and was just plain pleasant and friendly to deal with and actually had a personality. He seems to be working hard to do a great job and build a great reputation, and he succeeded with me. I recommend him highly .

I called on 7/11 and spoke to receptionist she said plumber was on a job but would transfer me to his phone, I got the answering service and left a detailed message, it's now 7/13 and still no return call. I'm just posting to state the facts, I have nothing positive or negative to say at this time, now going to call another plumber. The plumber did finally call today I returned call and let the person know I had already booked another plumber

It may be a year but the company came through and literately brought me Cash for what they owed me. I originally did not get the new customer discount and was charged full price. I was in the process of turning on my sprinkler system when I found out the valve in the ground was stripped.  I contacted a couple of plumbers and they all charged a service fee to come out and look at the job.  

I had one company come out and give me a quote.

So I called the Dirty Plumber next. A receptionist answered and I told her about my problem.  

10 minutes later I received a call from Jack (owner) and he gave me a quote over the phone.  It was almost $200 dollars cheaper than an estimate we had received earlier.  

I decided to go with his services.  

Jack was out at my home by 1 pm with a helper.  They replaced 3 valves and even uncovered a shut off valve I didn't know I had.  

He completed his job by 6 pm.  

I am glad I found him.  Very prompt and professional.  I highly recommend The Dirty Plumbing if you are in need of plumbing services.

Water heater developed a leak.  Called Dirty Plumber and they were out to my place within an hour to diagnose the problem.  Went to get parts and had the water heater fixed for a reasonable price.  We were back up and running like it never happened all in the same day. Great work!

I did read the reviews that said it took a while for him to get back to a person if they call, but I figure, well, it could be he's one-man team because the reviews of his actual service were excellent. He got back to me within one day. It was one week before he was able to show up so if you have an emergency, you probably are best with a company.  I needed a leaking pipe fixed outside and a new garage disposal and leaks under my kitchen sink fixed...and he did everything on the spot ( going out of his way to get the disposal and some parts) within a few hours. I got a discount paying cash. He was courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. If I ever have a problem again Jack's the guy I'll call :)

Imagine this... adult weekend planned, kind of a staycation... you wake up Friday morning to pick up company from the airport, only to have no hot water and discover your expansion tank has been spraying the entire garage - all night long.

I called 4 different plumbers and the Dirty Plumber is the only one to give me the time of day. Before he could even tell me whether he could come look at it, he walked me through turning the water off to the water heater, turning off the water heater until it could be repaired. Yes, you read that correctly, the first 3 people I had talked to just instantly said its Friday morning, we have no one, sorry k bye. This man didnt care if he even had time to fix it, he helped me control the situation until someone could fix it.  Now, in addition to his amazing customer service at the beginning, he was also able to fit us in a few hours later. He walked us through how to get the correct part # so that he didn't have to run back and forth, he could pick up the part on his way to fix it.

He arrived when promised, was friendly and knowledgable. He explained what happened and basically it was an old tank and this stuff happens. His price was very reasonable and... well... our adult weekend was memorable, and because of the Dirty Plumber and our great experience, the horrible situation didnt ruin the weekend! Thanks DP!

I recently hired Dirty Plumber to remove my old water heater and install a tankless water heater, and I couldn't be happier with the job they did. From start to finish, Jack and crew were professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They arrived on time and took the time to explain the process to me, answering all of my questions and addressing any concerns I had.

Jack worked quickly and efficiently, carefully removing the old water heater and installing the new tankless model with precision and care. They were respectful of my home, taking care to clean up any messes and ensure that everything was in working order before they left.

Since the installation, I've been extremely pleased with the performance of my new tankless water heater. It's more energy-efficient, takes up less space, and provides hot water on demand. Jack was efficient, fair and professional. Came out and gave me an estimate for installing my water filter and a gas line for my BBQ.  Final price was just as quoted.  He and his assistant, cleaned the area after they were done and tested all parts of the new water system for leaks.  Jack even measured and adjusted my water pressure.  

Jack was a pleasure to have to do my work.  I would highly recommend him for any plumbing job.   Jack made sure his piping layout work was perfect to the eye as well as operationally sound.  

Feel secure that your plumbing job will come out perfect and not find hidden costs.

The drain valve on my water heater started dripping so after reading these mostly positive reviews, I decided to give em a try. To be fair, Jack did good work and replaced the valve with a brass unit and flushed the water heater. It was after I paid him that I noticed he overcharged me by $10. I called him right away to let him know. Said he'd send me a check. A week later, no check so I called again.  Said he'd been busy and will send it out right away. Week later, nothing. So I decided to use the form on the website. No response. Also on the site it states first time customers get a special rate of $78/hr instead of $118/hr. Too bad I was never offered the special rate. A business that will not refund a customer for overcharging has no integrity, not to mention not offering the first time rate stated on their site. It's only $10, but it's about the integrity of the company. Won't be using them again.

He was also quite happy to honor the first time customer discount to us since we did mention it at the time of service.   It makes sense that he has so many customers and people working for him that he does not necessarily keep track of who is a new customer.   So, word to the wise:  if you are a new customer, be sure to mention the discount offer so it can be applied.
We were happy with the prompt response and communication, and the work was excellent.

Jack is awesome!  I had my main line coming into the house break on a Sunday in 7 degree weather.  I dug the hole to get to the pipe and called him.  He was on another job but said he would be at my place in 2 hours.  He called me back in an hour and a half and said he was on his way.
He was here for almost 3 hours, only billed me for 2 and a whopping nine bucks in parts.  It was very reasonable considering it was Sunday and freezing.
I have a now have a favorite plumber. Thanks Jack.

I found Dirty Plumber through Yelp Projects, and I think I just encountered some magical incarnation of Inspector Gadget crossed with James Bond. Here is the story of a garbage disposal, a superhero and a potential explosion averted.

I received a response through Yelp within a few minutes of posting my project. When I called them, the associate who answered was perhaps the most pleasant person with whom I've ever spoken on the phone.

It was as if the man went to butler school in London and was the receptionist to the royal family before being transported to Reno. You could feel his warmth and concern for my garbage disposal radiate through the phone lines, and I knew I had called the right people.

The owner, Jack, was on a job so was not able to take my call, but he called me back within a few minutes and said he'd be on his way- 20 minutes later he was looking at my garbage disposal.

The problem was thankfully an easy fix. A metal soap dispenser component that had disappeared for weeks had landed in the murky depths of the garbage disposal, which explains why it stopped working.

Jack removed the offending invader, made sure the garbage disposal was running, and went a step further by noticing a loose pipe that would have eventually caused water damage untold to the kitchen. He tightened the tube and went out through my garage to write an invoice.

In my mind, Jack was already a mythical warrior plumber on two counts, but this is the point of the story where he morphs into a crescent wrench wielding epic hero.

I smell propane, he said, looking at my glassblowing torch. Jack went to his truck, produced a propane leak detector and a few wrenches, found the leak and tightened the propane line to my torch.

No more leak, no more propane smell. In less than an hour, Jack had fixed a garbage disposal, prevented a flood in the kitchen and also potential explosion in the garage.

I'm presently sitting in the garage, sort of stunned in amazement at the genius and majesty of Dirty Plumber. I highly recommend this company to friends, family and the good people of Yelp to save us from everyday plumbing problems and also life-threatening situations.

The price was incredibly reasonable, especially for what I might have paid for a new garbage disposal, torrential flooding and maybe even medical bills. Thanks a million, Jack, you saved the day!

There is a reason these guys have the most reviews. I used to use another company for plumbing until he made it obvious that I should look elsewhere. Our sprinkler system main valve busted which necessitated us going without water. We actually waited for a plumber we liked and trusted for the better part of a week with no water. Total mistake.

-The Last Guy: kept feeling me out for how much he could charge me with no real price structure or even upfront pricing on supplies. Then charged the max he thought he could get away with.
-These Guys: have a standard hourly rate and will tell you prices on items before they are used.

-The Last Guy: was vague about the issues and then charged me for items that were not even used.
-These Guys: told me it was impossible for him to have installed such items and then explained why the item he actually installed was not to code.

-The Last Guy: clogged my entire house's water system with mud and debris, then took no responsibility for it claiming he was only hired to replace a single valve and had no other responsibilities after that...even though his repair caused the debris issue and he claimed that he stood by his work with a 1 year guarantee...just words apparently.
- These Guys: were upfront, on time, polite and diligent. They repaired all the issues caused by the last guy and at half the price. I guess that's what work ethic and integrity looks like.

Jack and Enrique were absolute professionals and have won a customer for life. Thanks guys!

I called Dirty Plumber after another plumber (Jolly Rooter) refused to work on my master bath leak saying it was too hard of a job. Dirty Plumber answered right away and scheduled Employee Laz to come within hours. Laz was on time and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly and had it fixed fast. Quick scheduling three days in advance with owner Jack. On the work day, Jack confirmed the plumber's name and estimated time of arrival. The Plummer Laz was polite, professional and thorough. I appreciated that Laz followed COVID protocols by wearing a mask the entire time he was working.
Laz quickly determined a plan for the replacement of a frost free hose bib and he corrected the connector from the previous work.
I appreciated that Laz showed me the new part and showed me the completed work. Laz checked for leaks and he remembered to turn-on my water heater. Laz also checked the water temperature before leaving. Excellent experience with The Dirty Plumber!! Fair prices for the high quality work. Highly recommended.

When you need a plumber, you usually need them immediately. Went in my garage and found water all over the floor from a leak in my hot water relief pressure tank. I was surprised as the water heater is only a couple years old. Turns out the Home Depot contractor that replaced the water heater did not change the pressure relief tank. Sloppy work by the HD chosen plumber.

Looked on Yelp for the highest rated plumber and found the Dirty Plumber was it. Called and spoke to the office person and explained my issue. He transferred me directly to the technician who asked more specific questions so he could pick up the right size relief tank. He said he would be over in a few hours. Called me back in about an hour and said he was on his way.

Replaced the relief tank in short order and provided a detail invoice at a reasonable price.

These guys are the best!

Jack did a great job. Jack set up a 2 hour window on when he would be here. Jack called to say when he would be at our house after he finished his previous job. Jack arrived and solved our problem quickly. He warned us that the obvious was fixed but mentioned other things that might be causing the problem, but it was best to wait and see if the problem comes back in a month or two.

Called for an estimate as my home warranty authorized to have the water heater fixed or replaced.  When technician came out he said, well what do you want ? Repair or replace ? It can be repaired but we can write it up either way if your home warranty is paying for it.  Tech called Jack on speaker and his words were go ahead and fix it, she has to pay us anyway and deal with the warranty reimbursement on her own but we still get paid  I wasn't ok with that ... called home warranty and was on hold, after being told by the tech they charge $118 an hour even while I'm on the phone, I decided to hang up.  He said I was also being charged for the time he called his supplier and boss regarding situation. I decided to stop the call, and pay him his hourly rate of $118.  As I gave him the check he said the total was $123 as there is a $5 fuel charge as well.

Total scam... Free estimate turned into $123.00, most expensive free estimate.... And $5 for a fuel charge? Give me a break !!!!

Jack, I received your reply and the info you are referring to is not all correct.  You did not tell me there was a $118 hr charge in the beginning as I would have moved on to other companies.  He was not here even close to an hour, and what's the deal with the insulting $5 gas fee ? Making me go and write an additional check ?  That couldn't be more unprofessional and rude.

This morning I called three plumbers and Jack was the only one that could come out today. One other wanted me to pay over time or come next Tuesday.

Not only did Jack provide same day service, he showed up on time, had the part for my hot water heater, used a drop cloth down on the concrete floor, did an amazing efficient job and completed with a wipe down of the hot water heater. Very fair and reasonable pricing.

I highly recommend Jack and appreciate his professionalism.

Problem to be resolved by 9:00 am tomorrow. Smaller is better - contrast this with the experience I had with Verizon this afternoon - I'm a 20+ year customer - don't want to get started. I don't deserve to get my blood pressure up again. Suffice it to say, so far this has been a dream come true! More tomorrow

BEST PLUMBER IN RENO!  Jack, came out and fixed my tankless hot water heater.  He is the only plumber who knew how to fix it.  His hourly rate is awesome, and he doesn't charge for a quote.  This guy is REALLY honest, and is a hard worker.  I would recommend him to everyone I know.  He even fixed a drain problem I had for free!  Who does that?  Thank you Jack!

I was getting ready to sell my house and needed to have a leak repaired. I tried calling a couple of other plumbers and they made promises that they could get the work done but then never followed through. A fellow Yelper recommended Dirty Plumber. I had to leave a couple messages (he is a one man shop with an answering service) before he called me back but when we connected on a Thursday 12/14, he was able to schedule me for the following Tuesday 12/19. I had made plans to leave town on that Friday so I was really counting on Jack to help me. The apointment was set for 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Jack called me at 10:50 to say he was on his way and arrived 15 minutes later at 11:05. So far, so good. He quickly discovered the problem and showed me the cracked pipe within 15 miniutes of his arrival. He needed to go to Western Supply to make sure he got the right part in order to prevent any unforeseen problems. He returned 45-60 minutes later, made the necessary repairs without having to make any concessions. Jack was friendly and professional and I was comfortable having him in my home. I have already referred my neighbor and another friend to him and will definitely use him for any future repairs.

I just received my invoice from Dirty Plumber today while Jack was rapping up my job, and I have to say, I feel ripped off.  $460 for hooking up a sink, faucet, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and gas range. Everything but the dishwasher and gas range were items I already had in my home, but, nevertheless, both of those items were already installed but not hooked up.
 While this might sound like a big job, how hard is it for a plumber to hook up a gas range and plug it in?  Faucets, sinks, garbage disposals and dishwashers, shouldn't be a big deal for a plumber. My own 72 year old family member hooked up his new Bosch dishwater in 20 minutes, his gas range in 10 minutes and told me since he put in all of his own  appliances of the same type as mine, that it took him (72 years young) two hours max.
 That said, I've heard that Dirty Plumber charges for drive time and going to our local plumbing supply for materials to the tune of $88 dollars per hour. Shouldn't you have basic materials for basic jobs on your truck. And how many materials do you need when most of the appliances come with materials needed to hook them up?  I got a 4 hour labor charge for today's work and he was thee for barely 3 hours. Shopping for parts isn't that labor intensive. Shouldn't you bring your hourly rate down a notch from $88 to something more reasonable when your shopping for stuff that should already be on your truck?  
 Dirty Plumber was brought out to my job because my cabinet maker recommended him and set it up. I must say, that when I have called a plumber in the past, one that I trust, who has a long good standing within my community, they charge me per job not per hour and they have all materials on hand in their well equipped trucks.
 I have a worker in my home that was there while Dirty Plumber was on my job. Jack told her how he always responds to negative yelp adds and always has to explain his rates to customers.  I've never felt ripped off by my normal plumber , and never in my life have I felt compelled to write such a lengthy review. There is a first time for everything.

I called this Plumber because of the reviews.  Thanks Yelpers!  Jack arrived within the specified time frame and accomplished both projects within an hour.  Granted they were not difficult...sprayer fixture broken and a home repair gone bad.  But he respects your time and his and that's hard to find these days.  This company would be my first call when (not if) we have more serious plumbing issues in the future.

I called Dr. Plumber for a leak I had in an upstairs bathroom. I had heard from a friend that he had had a very good experience with this company and that I should call. I spoke to Jack, the owner, who made an immediate appointment for me. He arrived on time in a clean, beautiful truck. Within a few minutes he had found the leak. Not only did he fix the plumbing problem, he also fixed the problem that we had with these little gnats that had found a home in the wet insulation between the walls. Jack carefully removed the insulation, dried everything out and brought in a perfectionist to repair the drywall. You can't even tell there was a problem. Jack clearly cares about his business and his customers. I was shocked at how reasonable his price was for the amount of work that he did.I feel so comfortable giving Dr. Plumber 5 stars, I would give more!

Dirty Plumber did a great job on our hot water heater recirculating pump and pipes. I called them on Oct 7 and set up an appointment for the following day from 12 - 3 and sent them a picture of the pump. I was able to be home earlier than expected and called them around 11, and Laz and Enrique arrived shortly thereafter. They were very professional, did the work efficiently, and arrived with all the parts they needed to complete the job (in my experience, often service personnel need to make one or more trips to get parts they did not have on their work vehicles). They also made the completed product look as nice as a hot water heater assembly can look - and the job was done to last, not a quick fix.

If you need any plumbing work, I highly recommend Dirty Plumber based on quality of work and fairness of prices. This project cost $705, including a military discount - thank you, owner Jack, for your patriotism!

We contracted with Jack of Dirty Plumber to repipe our home, replacing our old galvanized pipes with PEX. Jack also installed a new hot water heater for us.

A project of this scale and complexity is one that we had been dreading, and involved working with our existing tenants to help coordinate with Jack prior to us relocating them temporarily.

Fortunately, Jack and Enrique helped make the project go smoothly. The plumbing team were all excellent communicators. Jack is a straight shooter, reliable and reasonably/competitively priced.

He was also available and communicative after the completion of our repiping to answer questions and check on how the new system was doing.

We highly recommend Jack and Dirty Plumber.

It has been over a week now since Jack completed work at our home.  We had the original shower faucet / valve replace in our master bath.  The original was leaking and I was unsuccessful in finding a replacement cartridge.  I also was not clear on where the main water shut off valve was and I honestly didn't have time to do the work myself.  I placed the project out for bid to local plumbers in the area.  I then compared prices as well as reviews in BBB and Yelp.  Dr. Plumber was slightly lower than others in price, but the deciding factor was he had more positive reviews in Yelp as well as responding in a professional manner the negative review.  

Notes:
Jack worked with me on schedule accommodating me when I had to cancel the first agreed to date-n-time and I did the same for him when the second date-n- time didn't work for him.  He was prompt in contacting me during the entire process.  He showed up on time to perform the work and was completed within the time he stated in the original quote. He brought all the necessary tools and equipment to perform the work. He had covers to place in the work area where he placed his tool and other equipment on.  The work area was clean when he was completed with the project. Since he was going to do work that required the use of a propane torch he took precaution proving his own fire extinguisher, which I noted was charged fully.  He also took the time to show me in my home where the main water shutoff valve was and how if needed replace the cartridge in my new valve.  

We had only one misstep where the new valve he used was not the one we had discussed, however he pointed out the error by showing me his original notes in the quote and he offered to make amends by lowering the original price accordingly based on the difference in the type of valve used.   I decided that based on his work, professionalism, and the fact that since he showed me where the main water shutoff vale for my home was as well as how to replace the new valve cartridge if needed that the original valve unit I requested didn't make much sense.  I paid Jack the original agreed quote amount.

It is important in any community to support local business owners and our family tries to do so when we can.  I encourage anyone reading this review to do the same.  

Based on my first experience with Jack, Dr. Plumber will be my first choice for all future plumbing needs.  I would recommend they be yours as well.

Jack was back again. I'm a messy cook and I guess a lot more stuff goes down the drain than it should, so it backed up again, 18 months later. Jack's company, Dirty Plumber, arrived the day after I left him an email and took care of the problem. He's honest, gives great advice, and he is one hard worker. I've used other plumbers in the area for 40 years and will only use Dirt Plumber for all my plumbing needs. He's got a great retro beard, but don't let that put you off, because he also has a great heart. Nope, I'm not his dad, a family member or friend, just a happy customer.

We had a leaky sink drain pipe in the crawl space and Jack arrived when he said he would, provided a clear explanation of the issue and provided two options to fix it. As the faulty pipe was behind a wall, Jack recommended abandoning the old pipe and running a new pipe as opposed to a more expensive fix that involved removing part of the wall. His workaround was up to code and I verified a dry crawl space and evidence of his quality workmanship a month later when in the crawl space for another reason. Low stress experience and high quality work!

Dirty Plumber (Jack) is outstanding! Our water heater quit unexpectedly and Jack was at our house the same day with a new one, and he stayed until 8:30 pm to get it installed. He does all of his work to code and doesn't charge for any upgrades that may be required, which is a nice bonus that not many plumbers offer. He left the work area clean, is easy to talk to, and we're so thankful we found him. The gal that answers his phones is also very polite and professional. Will definitely use for any future plumbing issues and highly recommend Dirty Plumber to anyone in need.

Jack was great. He showed up on time which was something I haven't had good luck with any contractors these days. Instead of up selling me on things I didn't need he fixed the problem I was having and did so meticulously. He didn't leave any messes either. Its relieving to deal with some honest people who do great work and have a sharp attention to detail. I will be using him for all future work.

Had a leak in a basement sewer pipe.  Jack was very responsive and flexible.  He sent a staff plumber who was on time, professional, and efficiently fixed the problem as well as another problem I had procrastinated fixing.  All done in a short time and at a more than reasonable price.  And, I did this all remotely.  I absolutely recommend the Dirty Plumber! For the past 24 Hours I was panicking and losing sleep over my leaking shower mixing valve. It was leaking for who knows how long on top of this it was one of those of Price Pfister style valves installed in a one price fiber glass tub surround (very difficult to access). I looked far and wide hoping to get a pro to give me a hand. I made my way down the list of all plumbers in Reno and couldn't get anyone with a reasonable job start time; and the one plumber I could get wanted rip apart my whole bathroom to access but didn't know when he could start the job. After everyone else stopped answering my calls one company picked right up and told me they could be there first thing in the morning. I warned them that it was going to be a daunting challenge but they didn't hesitate. I was  not sleeping very well the night before when I did wake up the next morning they were here. They had all the parts and tools needed to knock out the job now not 48 hours from now right now today ahora. Not only that but the employee they sent to my aid Enrique Sanchez masterminded a brilliant method to complete the emergency repair without causing me to rip apart my entire bathroom. When he told me of his plan I was amazed at how genius it was because only a truly skilled master of his craft could have ever come up with this plan which saved me hours of unnecessary sweat and headache. During the entire job which was completed in half the time everyone else was projecting he remained extremely professional and even took time to answer my inexperienced questions about plumbing around my house. When the job was done my shower looked totally upgraded and much better than before. They even saved me a lot of money and did not try to rip me off. These guys were a real breath of fresh air with how honest, fast and down to earth they operate. They responded so quickly that no damaged occured to my house, if I had to wait 48 hours who knows how much damaged could have occurred to my wall and foundation. I decided to write this review before going to bed to let everyone know how much better I will sleep tonight knowing that the job was done right the first time.

Jack the owner responded so I'll add a star for response. He responded claiming he was confused as we had only spoken once about the service. I did only speak to jack once because all week long I called and other employees kept ensuring he would call back but did not.

I did originally say I would call back with a decision but I called back the next business day attempting to schedule service.

There seems to be lack of communication at this business and between customers.

We needed a garbage disposal installed and kinda in a hurry. Jack told us what we needed to purchase and he was able to install it the next day. Installation was seamless and Jack was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk with. If I have any additional plumbing needs, this will be my first call.

The Worst Customer Service ever, went thru two answering services, no call back and waited 4 hours and no one came to fix the problem.  When I called after 4 hours of waiting they acted like I never even put in a service call. I truely do not recommend this business at all.

Outstanding service and expertise!!!  
For years I used one of the major plumbing firms in NV.  I always thought the service was adequate but never outstanding and the price was always very high.  I tried to find another plumber knowing that there must  be someone better and cheaper and went on a friends recommendation and tried a different plumber.  The service was even worse than my long term plumber.  This time when I had a plumbing problem I thought I would try my luck with Yelp as I have used them before with very good results.  Long story short I struck it rich with Yelp and found Jack whose business is called Dr. Plumber.  He is AWESOME.  Jack  fixed a problem my expensive plumber said he fixed but it was never fixed.  Jack determined that the reason the faucet had not been fixed by my previous plumber was due to a foreign part being used.  Jack took the time to find the correct part and my faucet no longer leaks.  I said long story short so I won't go on to tell you the other innovative fixes Jack managed in other areas of my home.  Bottom line he is more than fair with his pricing and he does a quality job and finds a way to work you into his schedule.  I cannot recommend Dr. Plumber highly enough for honesty, fairness with pricing, skill level, innovative problem solving, efficiency, prompt service, and on and on.   I also found out he will do rotor-rooter type of work and has all the equipment.  I like to have my plumbing pipes snaked once a year as a preventative measure before the drains start gurgling.   He is coming back tomorrow to snake the plumbing lines in the house and again his price is better than the major firms in town.  It is a great feeling to know if you have a plumbing issue that there is someone like Jack to come to the rescue without breaking the bank.

Jack came to my house and looked at the project which is running gas pipe to my new 24 kw generator. He went to the parts house and returned with every thing needed.from start to finish.  the job went perfect Including the testing i have used my generator many times due to power outage in my area    jack was very fair on the cost of the project so so happy with jack and his company. Jack gets an A+ for the job he did replacing my 14 year old hot water heater. When I called Jack I made a point of explaining there were tight clearances involved to replace the old heater. He was undeterred and confident he could replace it. Although he said he could replace the heater that afternoon I said I'd first e-mail him photos of the tight fit so he could look them over. He agreed and scheduled the replacement for the next morning. Jack did a great job. It was quite an effort getting the old heater out and then replacing it with a far better water heater. I'll skip the details but the change out was complicated. Jack took the time to do the job right and stayed within his price estimate. Jack is truly a craftsman. He is also very fair in his pricing. I highly recommend Dirty Plumber.

I scheduled an appointment for Jack to install a thermostatic mixing valve to squeeze more hot water out of our water heater that was too small to properly fill our garden tub that my wife uses religiously.  I had done my research and was very specific about what we wanted.  Jack showed up within the two hour window as promised and realized shortly after that although he had the mixing valve he did not have some of the more standard parts to make the connection to the water heater.  He left to pick up parts for about 45 minutes, returned and did excellent work installing it; he is a real craftsman with copper. He spent about 2 hours and 15 minutes installing it which was reasonable seeing the work he had to do.  I was also BS'ing with him the entire time which didn't help him get done any sooner.  In the end I was charged parts and 3 hours labor which included his trip to the parts store which is the only thing I had ANY heartburn about. In my opinion, if his truck wasn't stocked with what he needed for the day it really shouldn't have been on my dime. I'm a surveyor by trade and if I send a crew to a job site and they don't have enough materials to get the job done I can't charge them to go back to the shop and pick them up. I might feel differently if he had come across something unexpected or I hadn't been specific on what we were looking to accomplish.

In the end he was a great guy, very professional and did excellent work.  He will  be the guy I call when I need a plumber again.

Enrique was awesome!  He showed up with a mask on and was super friendly.  He worked hard for several hours moving our hot water heater to another location in our basement.  I would highly recommend Enrique and Dirty plumber.

I found Jack via Yelp and I am glad I called him!!  I was in town visiting my mom and found that she had some problems with the plumbing at her house. She had called a company several months earlier who gave her an estimate of over $400 to fix the grade of the bathroom pipes. She could not afford it at the time since she is on a fixed income. I called Jack and he stepped through each drain, snaked them out, isolated the problem and found that we had 2 issues going on. He charged less than half of what the first guy estimated!!! Plus he fixed the problem!

The first guy would have charged $400 for something we didn't even need!!! Jack is the GO TO GUY  and is one of the few professionals who cares about the quality of his work as well as keeping his clients!!!

I called Dirty Plumber when I suspected a water leak. I had called a couple other local plumbing companies who never called me back, so it was a relief when some woman answered and connected me directly to Jack who was able to offer advice over the phone before coming to my house. While here, he not only inspected all my plumbing for me, but also educated me on a few things that I probably should have known before buying a house.  Jack was incredibly friendly, professional and honest. I highly recommend you give Dirty Plumber a call next time you find yourself needing a plumber.

I recently discovered a hot water pipe leak and called them seeing their good reviews on yelp. The dry-wall was already cut open and I exactly described the leak (leaking at joint between pex pipe and copper pipe). I asked if they can come and inspect and give an estimate which they do not.

The technician showed up, inspected and then immediately said he needed to get parts from his sparks shop and took around 40 minutes to get back that was charged at $118 per hour. They also added a fuel surcharge even if my house was within their service area.

So they charged me 2 hours out of which 40 minutes was for getting the parts from their sparks shop even after i had exactly described where the leak was. They also start charging from the time the technician leaves from their earlier job and not when he show's up at the customers house.

I would find a different company for my future plumbing needs.

UPDATE:

After checking my cameras, it was actually 50 minutes to get the parts and 15 minutes to arrive at the home and all was charged as labor time. I live in southwest Reno.

I did mention pex o-ring (instead of pex expansion ring) but also mentioned it was a leak at the joint between the pex pipe and copper pipe and the pex ring needs to be replaced. While i did not mention the exact part name (I am not a plumber!), I believe to have provided enough information to understand the issue.

The parts used were 5 of 3/4 copper pipe and 3/4 brass - pex adapter and both are in stock at local lowes that is 7-8 minutes from my home.

Also, i don't think i could have denied the service after the in house estimate as the charge time had already started when the plumber left his previous job and there is a 1 hour minimum charge.

Jack is super nice guy, who arrived on time, and was incredibly knowledgeable about his trade. He was able to give me a bunch of information about my toilets, and even some recommendations for the future if I plan to replace them. I plan on using Dirty Plumber for any other plumbing issues I have, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

Very knowledgeable plumber that takes great pride in his work! I needed a water line installed for a refrigerator I recently bought. Jack gave me a few different options on how to go about it and explained the pros and cons of each. I felt that I was able to make a good, informed decision on how to go about the work.

As Jack went about his work he ran into a few roadblocks, as my new house did not always have appropriately skilled people working on it over the years. He was always able to adjust and recommended good alternatives; a true testament to his experience.

I'm very, very impressed with Jack's abilities. He did the work in a reasonable amount of time. He tested his work as he went along. He explained what he was doing along the way in terms simple enough for anyone to understand. When all was said and done, the bill came out a bit less than I expected- especially for the amount of work he had to do to complete the job the right way.

Additionally, Jack just really seems like a good guy. No-nonsense, honest, personable, and nice to my dog. My wife really liked him too, and she does not normally like people she doesn't know in the house. He had been out of town when I first tried to contact him, but I'm sure glad I waited based on his other reviews here. I can say with absolute certainty I will be calling Jack with any of my other plumbing needs.

The only downside is Jack uses an answering service as he's a one-man company. The answering service certainly leaves something to be desired. You may need to be a tad persistent to break through, but once Jack gets your message he will return it. It's certainly worth having to play a little phone tag if he's busy on a job.

Jack is an honest straight up kind of guy who you can trust to do a great job at a fair price. He fixed my kitchen faucet and got me a free hose from the manufacturer so I could save money. Faucet great now. Shower faucet broke and Jack came by shortly after the call. He told me how to fix it myself and did not charge me a service call since he was in the area. Who does that? Just Jack. Fixed shower myself and know that if I ever need help with any plumbing problem again I can trust Jack to help.

I've meant to write something about Dr. Plumber for about six weeks, since Jack and his assistant replaced my water heater, pronto, same day, last month, and I don't live in a very convenient part of Reno. They drove away somewhere, at mid-afternoon, and were back with the water heater an hour or so later. By then it was late in the day, but they went right to work and got the job done.

Jack was courteous and efficient, and even moved a couple of pipes to better, cleaner locations on the garage wall as he replaced the tank. We were very pleased with Jack's work, and the water has been hot, hot, hot since the day he left the house. :-) I highly recommend Jack and his company.

Don't let the name fool you. Dirty Plumber is quite clean.

Jack did all the plumbing work for our master bathroom remodel and he did a great job with this.  We also had him install a steam shower unit along with the plumbing that had to be done and he was very knowledgeable with this setup. He has a good relationship with Western Nevada Supply, where we shopped for most of the plumbing units like faucets and shower heads.

Jack gives you a courtesy call when he is own his way to your house or if he is running late. This was a nice gesture since I do have a full-time job. This lets me stay at work as much as I can and not be waiting around at home losing productive time.

Jack cleans up after himself and keeps a clean work area. He treats your home just like his own so you'll have nothing to worry about while he is working. The best part is that he gets his job done effectively and efficiently.

For any plumbing issues or in this case, renovations, Dirty Plumber is the right choice.

Dirty Plumber seriously came through for us in a very smelly situation!

Our garbage disposal broke and backed up into our sink, leaving us with some really awful smelling standing water. We were worried we'd be stuck with it for several days until we could get a plumber out, but Jack and his team came through way faster than I expected. We called at 9am and had a plumber at our house by 11. Enrique was great and quickly replaced our disposal and drain attachment and was done by 1.

The service was reasonably priced, especially considering how quickly they fixed the issue. Plus, their van gave me a laugh!

I was very satisfied with the work in my bathroom from Dirty Plumber.  Jack arrived at our house in the time frame he specified and was professional and friendly.  He got the work done and made sure everything was just right.  Jack answered all the questions I had and the bill was very reasonable considering the fact that our house is almost 100 years old.  I will use Dirty Plumber again in the future and will recommend this company to anyone who asks.  Thank you Jack!

I looked for a good permanent plumber due to the fact I have had too many issues with big companies in the past.

Jack and his buddy did a wonderful job.

If you have little kids, you will understand they like to flush things. In this case, it was a Danactive cup. The pipe snake could not get it out, so these gentlemen pulled the toilet, managed to get it into my shower without damaging anything, and found the evil little piece of plastic.

Jack and his Helper then helped upgrade the water source hose to the toilet, and he did his very best to ensure the toilet was as tight as possible to a plastic flange. He also replaced a faulty valve/floater assembly in the tank right on the spot.

They cleaned everything up well,  they were always polite and professional, and the key here is THOROUGH.

If you want a plumber that will slap a job on and run, look else where. Jack and his crew take their time to ensure it is done very well.

Dirty plumber seems to be highly unorganized, and I am very dissapointed with the service, or lack there of.  Twice now, I called and spoke to someone about an issue with our plumbing which I wanted to have technician come repair.  Twice, I was asked to leave a detailed voicemail.  I was told I would be contacted as soon as possible.  Twice, I did not get a return telephone call back or any response at all.  I went to The Plumbing Doctor, and I finally got the service I was looking for.  Dirty Plumber....Two Thumbs Down!

Got in touch with Dr. Plumber after reading the other reviews, and I was really happy that I did.  I explained my problem over the phone and he gave me possible reasons and solutions for what I was experiencing with my water pressure.  He responded as soon as he could, fixed the problem, and his price was fair.  I would definately recommend him and will use his service again.
