Mackinaw Plumbing

We had water running from a stuck check valve on a Saturday night, I called Mackinaw Plumbing and he helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone. We were able to keep the house running with water and Mackinaw plumbing came over on Sunday and fixed the problem. I would call them again if I have a plumbing problem.

He did some plumbing for me in Carnelian Bay... showed up quickly and fixed a semi emergency. Definitely recommend to anyone on north lake needing a good plumber!

This guy came out here today, did not even come into my apartment!  Then he tells me he forgot the tool he needed and went back home.  His truck at the time was running fine. Now he calls and tells me he can't make it because he has truck problems!!   When I tried to call him back, his voicemail was full and couldn't even talk to him!  Not a good way to handle your business.

Quoted a price then ordered hot water heater. When the wayer heater was delivered his price went up 20 percent. Left a embarrassing mess. I mean mud up from door to water heater. He said ooops I forgot my mop. We bought the water heater directly from the seller and he tried to charge us too. Honestly its unbelievable that there are so many good reviews.  I will say its quality work.

Terry has been my go-to for plumbing since I moved to the area two years ago. The first time I called him, it was a snowy winter day and I couldn't get the hot water heater working when I came home. He came out within a couple hours and it turned out to be a quick fix. Since then I've used him to upgrade and modernize fixtures. A hot water recirculating pump that he installed failed a few months out of warranty and he replaced it charging no labor. I don't understand the negative reviews. Terry is a character and he has always done the agreed-upon work satisfactorily, in a reasonable time frame, and at a reasonable price.

Terry has been our go-to guy for all things plumbing for a few years in Kings Beach.  His work is excellent and he is so very pleasant to work with - doesn't get much better than that.  When I find a problem, he finds a solution... Great guy!

We live in the Bay Area and our friends let us know a pipe froze and burst. We  called Terry and he went straight to our cabin and called me with a quote. I gave him the OK and he had the pipe repaired in only two hours. His price was extremely reasonable and allowed me to mail him a check. It doesn't get any better than that.
I would recommend Mackinaw to anyone who needs a plumber on the North Shore.

Hired him for rough plumbing job for remodel, said he pulled plumbing permit but did not.  Day after I fired him he tried to then pull permit, which is not legal. Billed for work not performed (fraud), billed for hours not worked, my surveillance cameras proved it.  Will be taking legal action.  Stay away!

It's a long story and I just don't recommend this company.

Terry is great. He replaced our water heater and went beyond the basics. He picked up the new water heater in Truckee that we purchased and hauled away the old water heater. He even opened the passage space that was too small for the new heater and put the wood back as it was; could've said get a carpenter, instead did it himself. He is very helpful and knowledgeable. When others give you the run around, schedule out a week or more, forget them and call Mackinaw!

Terry is simply the best at this business.  We've had other plumbers in our old Tahoe Vista cabin over the years, and no one has been has sharp, has pleasant, and as accurate in diagnosis and resolution as Terry Kelly of Mackinaw Plumbing.  We were especially thrilled that he quickly identified and fixed the source of a multi-year bath tub drain leak ... a problem that eluded others!  And saw to rebuild our valves (the bathtub faucet handles) at the same time.  GREAT!

I have had Terry come by on multiple occasions. He he fast, his prices are really fair, and so far the work he has done has held up. No issues. Quick, easy, and reliable.

I had a great experience. Came when they said they would, felt pricing was very fair, able to do some emergency repairs quickly, good communication

Terry was the only plumber willing to come over on a Sunday night to help with our leaking water heater. He assured us we'd have a new one in the next day, and we did! It's working great so far. If you need someone who will actually respond, and get the work done as soon as he can, call Terry!

Terry was awesome!   Really nice guy, knows his stuff, and reliable.  He jumped all over a project that I couldn't finish on my own, and charged a very reasonable price.  I'll definitely use him again, and have no reservations about recommending him.

Reached out to this company based on a friends recommendation.   Took 2 attempts for them to return my call.   They committed 4 times come over and give estimate.   They didn't show up 3 times.  Only rescheduled after the day of the appt.  They finally showed up on the 4th appt.   After meeting with owner, they committed to having work done by a specific date.    We are now days after the commitment with zero communication.    I'm not judging their work because they never did it.    If you are ok with this level of poor communication you might be ok with using them.

We came up to our house in Tahoe and as we turned on the main water line, we noticed a leak coming from our water heater.  There was a crack in the valve that connects to the water line and water heater, next to the expansion tank.  We called four plumbers in town, mind you it was a Saturday afternoon, and no one with the exception of Mackinaw plumbing picked up the phone.  Also, the messages we left for the other three companies in the area that are open on Saturdays never got back to us.   Teri was very responsive and was up at our house in no time. Teri was very professional and very upfront about the estimated cost, as it was an emergency and a weekend.  He did a fantastic job and was in and out in no time.  We will definitely be using him again for any plumbing needs and I would highly recommend Teri to anyone in North Tahoe.  Thanks for saving our weekend!

Terry is great. He is responsive whenever we have an issue at our Kings Beach place. He has fixed everything and is very reasonable.

Terry was incredibly professional and quick to respond during an off hours emergency call while we had guests staying at our house. After striking out with several other plumbers, including one who was outright rude, Terry saved the day and was at the property in less than 45 minutes. I'm looking forward to working further with Mackinaw but hopefully without any more off hours calls!

Doc Brown is my GO-TO-PLUMBER. I run a vacation rental business and it's important for issues to be fixed quickly, professionally, and efficiently. I have tried probably every single other plumber in the area and there is no comparison whatsoever. This is who you want. Every time. Thank you guys!!!!

Exceptionally responsive, very professional, expert workmanship.  Don't need to say much more, but this company is great.  I don't know if they can always be so quick to respond, but I called at 9AM, they were here by 1PM, and gone by 3PM, work done.  Installed a new kitchen faucet and two new shutoff valves.  Terry is both competent and very friendly!  But all business.  Couldn't be happier.  Will call again when I need plumbing work.

Mackinaw Plumbing was recommended to me by a friend.  Terry came by and estimated the job. I needed an auto drain installed in our condo. His price was very reasonable and said he could do the job within a few days.  He arrived promptly at 8:30am and was very efficient. We were also installing new vanity and he removed our old pedestal sink and installed the  faucet and drain.  I would definitely recommend Mackinaw for sell your plumbing needs

Terry is truly the best. He's reliable. Honest. And really quick to respond! I highly recommend him to anyone and he helped us with multiple projects.

The first time we had to call a plumber was on New Years Day, when a pipe burst. No-one else would come out to even take a look, but Terry and his guys came straight out, fixed the problem, and charged a surprisingly low fee (although we made them French Toast for breakfast!)

the second time, we had several frozen and burst pipes and called them immediately, and they came out at 7.30am. Terry and Bruce spent several hours fixing multiple problems (including having to drill holes in a wall to get to one leak).

They were courteous, cleaned up and were very professional. Prices were average but well worth it - I got a good feeling about them straightaway, and it was well justified.

I would thoroughly recommend Mackinaw Plumbing, and if we have any more issues (please, no more frozen pipes!), I'll call them immediately.

Going on three days to fix a leak under the kitchen sink, Terry stayed on it until fixed.  These old Tahoe Houses.

My mother is in a tiny cabin in Kings Beach and had a plumbing issue and I had to coordinate from the Bay Area.  Terry came out and fixed it right away.   Super kind and responsive and great with the elderly.  So happy that Terry was able to get the job done so quickly.

Called Terry for the first time and I'm so glad I did.  He came out so fast and took care of the problem very quickly and I was shocked at how reasonable it was.  Extremely nice.  Wish we had someone like him at home in LA.

Called Mackinaw plumbing for a toilet leak issue.  Terri was very responsive and able to come out the next day. He showed up on time and had the toilet fixed promptly.
