I had contacted three larger companies over several months for bids on a new furnace but just didn't feel right about any of them. Then my old furnace stopped working and I decided to get one more bid.
I thank my lucky stars that I called Matt, he was able to be at my house within an hour and we discussed new furnace options. In addition, he quickly fixed a leaky tub in less than ten minutes that had caused water damage on the ceiling below that I dreaded addressing because I thought it would cost me hundreds of dollars to repair!
Matt installed a new furnace a week later. He is hardworking, respectful and extremely capable. I found he and his staff an absolute pleasure to work with. Will definitely be calling him for future projects.
Science needs to clone Matt---but now that I think of it, given his quick response time, they may already have!

Had a water heater that was leaking and needed to be replaced. Called Norwood Plumbing & Heating and the owner Mark spoke to me and we made an appointment. Mark showed up on time and did a great job removing old water heater and installing new water heater. He was extremely professional and I was very satisfied with his work. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. LS

Mr. Carey came over to my home immediately and took care of my leaking faucet. Fabulous service!

Paul is an exemplary handyman. Paul was easy to schedule and did a spectacular job fixing several lingering issues in our home (i.e., doors that had trouble locking, leaky faucets, sinks that wouldn't drain properly). He was also methodic in diagnosing the underlying cause of all these issues. For example, there were several doorknobs we expected having to replace entirely, but Paul was able to figure out that the main issues was a misalignment between the bolt and bolt hole (saved us having to buy several new sets of doorknobs!).
Paul was also generally pleasant to be around and it was easy to communicate with him. When I mentioned a couple other things around the house that needed work , Paul was happy to address these issues.
I've attempted to work with other handymen in the past and was extremely disappointed with those experiences (e.g., unclear pricing policies, failure to respond in a timely manner / at all). Given these previous experiences, I could not be happier that I found Paul's handyman service. He has my strongest recommendation, and I will certainly contact him again for future projects.

Mike was great. I didn't even realize my water heater was still under warranty, so he was very helpful in figuring this out and bringing me a new one. he fixed all necessary piping issues left by previous installer. He was also able to show up on fairly short notice and communicating with him was easy. I ll be using him again.

You won't do any better than calling Eric Mouradian Plumbing & Heating to resolve your repair or new installation project. His communication and response to my oil to gas conversion heating issue was A+. Where many others had run away from it they stuck with it, got the information and parts needed and made the repair in short time. From field techs to office his employees were the best!

I have used 128 Plumbing for several years. At first they were fantastic. I used them for heating and cooling. They were efficient, prompt, helpful and did great work. Over the last year and a half, they have gone significantly downhill. Their technicians have made mistakes during servicing, they push sales material, their office staff commits to something and then does not follow through, and different office staff has made repeated calls to me about the same item, like they are not communicating internally. I finally had enough and took my business elsewhere.

Drew and his team are outstanding to work with! If you need any heating or plumbing work done you must hire them. I usually don't write reviews but felt compelled based on our wonderful experience.
We own an 1800s house that had not been updated in 50+ years and Drew updated all of our plumbing and heating systems and fixtures. They have a wonderful and rare these days CAN DO attitude and with all the problems of an old house they never left me feeling like I was on my own to figure it out.
The work was done quickly and with the same care as if they were doing their own house. They were friendly and professional. I mean really I can't say enough good things about them!
Thank you Drew!

My condo shower's plumbing needed to be looked into and the bathroom sink was chipped and leaking. When I found out that I needed to locate a plumber, my heart sank as I did not know where to start the search but luckily I had a referral from another tenant who went through a similar scenario and recommended Mike at M & M Plumbing. I first met Mike for an estimate and while he was running a couple of minutes late for our meeting he called me to inform me this. He continued to communicate well w/ me and made himself available via cell until the services were done. From the time I was able to get permission from the building Mike was able to turn around the work in about 48 hours since there was tiling that needed to be done. A couple of months later, I hired Mike again as my toilet was leaking and the plastic ring needed to be replaced and same great results - prompt turnaround and wonderful service. Mike knows his stuff, does his work with a smile and at reasonable rates. Mike is fair. He also does work for some big chain grocery stores and other businesses so he has quite the experience under his belt. Plus his office manager Mary Lou is friendly and gets the business done. I'd highly recommend Mike and his company M & M for anyone needing a plumber in Boston.

In 2020 we moved and had to call a plumber for a toilet leak/replacement. We told them it was NOT an emergency, but they showed up that night and charged us triple what a plumber at our former house charged (same work, also after hours) 5 months previous, so we were wary.
In early 2021 we did a major kitchen and laundry renovation on our current home, CRoy was the plumber who worked with our contractor and did all new plumbing ( a slab ranch - no basement). Both the owner and his assistant were prompt, professional and neat.
October 2022 - bathroom renovations. Same excellent work (same assistant - always a good sign.) They will do what you request but will tell you what is best and what is necessary. (My husband requested some just in case additional piping for possible future remodeling that added cost.)
We were delighted to pay a very reasonable bill for such excellent and timely work.

The condensation pump to my apartment furnace recently went on the fritz and so I contacted I & C Mechanical to get a possible replacement and since I am out of town. I also figured that since I am having someone come, I would also have them service my furnace.
This seemed very straight forward to me. The pump with an issue is a small unit that is located on the side of the furnace. To my knowledge, all that is needed is to unplug the old and plug in the new one. A new pump retails for about $45. If I were at the apartment at this time, I would certainly do it myself.
Anyway, I am totally willing to pay for someone to change the unit and have my furnace checked. I thought this was a pretty easy request, but I was wrong. I & C responded that they would charge $245 for the first hour of the installation of the pump plus the parts. This seemed like a lot to pay for someone to plug something into a wall but I figured that I would at least get someone to check my furnace within that hour - nope they won't do that. To check the furnace they would charge an additional $245 for the first hour.
So what could literally be a 25-minute job, plug in the pump, and check my one-bedroom furnace would cost $490 in labor + plus the parts.
Their pricing is ridiculous and they couldn't clearly explain how it made any sense. Buyer beware, do a little research before you hire someone, and be careful that they don't charge you $245 per task.

Blown out water heater on a snowy Saturday. Romano sent two plumbers out quickly and replaced the water heater and did a great job. The problem I have with them is the cost. I was quoted one price over the phone and another ($200 higher) at the time of job completion. They used every bullshit sales justification under the sun, not cool Kurt.

Greg was awesome...The toilet in one of our condo bathrooms was running. After trying 3 different flappers with little success, we called BHP&P and found out that it was a much more complex problem requiring 3 hours of his labor and some new parts to install.
He installed a new part and tested the toilet to see if it worked--which it kinda-sorta did. The new part wasn't as great as it could be and Greg was sincerely awesome about calling to get another brand of the same part and installing that one in its place.
The toilet now works great-no running at all!-He also took an hour off his time because of the time it took to get the new new part, which was SO nice of him. The parts (which I recognized) were also top-quality and not overpriced on the final bill so I appreciated him not overcharging us and he was very conscientious about making sure that the toilet worked perfectly. Labor is $180/hr and definitely deserved.

I wish I had read these reviews before I hired Papalia.
The $79 dispatch fee stings a bit but I figured they might take that off the cost of the job and expected it to be maybe $300 to replace a tub waste pipe assembly.. I know plumbers are never cheap but I was shocked that is was $675 and took just over an hour, the parts are not expensive. Since I just wanted the job done and already had to pay the dispatch fee, I went ahead with it, but now I'm really annoyed with myself that I paid that. Pretty sure could have gotten a smaller company or a handyman to do it for half.

Bloody awful. Unfortunately, zero stars isn't an option. After having spent over $900 to this company in the last 6 or seven weeks, my furnace still isn't right. The guys who came to service my water heater as part of my annual service contract did nothing, because the drain valve is plastic vs. brass, and all they tried to do as part of their plumbing inspection is sell me more pricey services. It seems every possible solution to my furnace issue involves another big expense; it's all trial and error apparently. 15 years ago, they were great, giving us a hardship discount on a much needed furnace when times were tough for us. Is this even the same company? Maybe they suckered me. Either way, I'm very disappointed in GEM.
