Best Plumbing Services in Massachusetts
Our work with Mark was like a dream come true experience. Another plumbing company had come to service our tankless heater/hot water heater, which was not working, and (1) took it apart and (2) told us it was beyond repair. They gave us a $14k quote and left us with no heat and hot water. I was referred to Mark and anticipated that he might be able to beat the $14k quote, but assumed he'd need to still replace it. Well, Mark arrived and he had our system up and running in 15 minutes, providing me with a clear assessment of its status. He then spent an extra 90 minutes here to fix a variety of different issues associated with our plumbing. I offered Mark a large check, as I was so grateful, but he insisted to only charge me his normal hourly rate. It was rare to find someone to clearly skilled/smart and so honest and up-front, wanting to ensure he treated us fairly.

I've found it difficult to find a reliable and high quality plumber, but Jim (and Matt) did an excellent job re-plumbing the drain system in my basement. I needed to create more headroom with several 3-4 PVC lines running too low out of the bays. It was not a simple job to figure out how to run everything... several other plumbers told me it would be too tricky. Jim gave me a fair quote and said he could do it in between larger jobs over the next four weeks. He was in touch 2 weeks later to schedule a time for the following week. Showed up right on time (without me even confirming), did the entire job just as asked and was out by 3pm. Very happy and would highly recommend him.

Travis was outstanding when he came to fix my two water heaters. Arrived on time, was very professional, and made the whole experience easy. I just let him work and I didn't worry about anything, then he called me to down and we tested the hot water around the house.
I would recommend Travis and his company to anyone.

These plumbers are nice, fair, and, do good work. They were really polite to us, even though I left a mess in the walkway outside with gardening stuff (nobody should have to step in my pile of dead slugs on the way to the basement) and my youngest kid wanted to watch some of the installation of our new water heater. They came on a Saturday and explained how some of the stuff in our basement works, as in where the big drain is for letting out water if the basement ever floods.

I awoke 7:00am on a Saturday morning to find that my hot water tank was leaking. Terry was quick to pick up my call and tell me what steps to take to control the leak. Within minutes the leak had stopped. He stopped by a few hours later to confirm the fact that I needed a new hot water heater. He took the time to check with the distributor to see if my old water heater was under warranty (which of course it was not) and we made an appointment to replace the water heater first thing on Monday morning. Terry was prompt and I appreciated his attention to detail (pulling a permit to do the work). He was clean and explained what he had done. I would definitley hire Terry again.

I wanted to demo the sink that was tied into the washing machine as well as remove my half bath's fixtures to be replaced with new ones that I purchased. Belanger & Sons came out and provided an estimate very quickly and was able to get me on their schedule for the first part of the job and even fixed the drain that was very clearly clogged. I reached out to them to let them know we were ready for the install of the new fixtures and they responded quickly with a reasonable date for install. I definitely will use Belanger again and highly recommend you do too :)

Unfortunately, this is now the third time I have used Vaughan Plumbing and Heating. Over the past two or so years, we've had a pipe freeze and burst outside, a pipe freeze inside - which prevented heat from getting to my daughter's room, and some noise in the pipes from poor pressure apparently. Greg and Chris are so friendly, helpful, and efficient! They come right away and always surprise me and my husband with how reasonably priced their work is. Would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again!

Reached out to help with my gas stove piping and Petros was very responsive and helpful off the bat. He ended up helping me with my sink and faucet as well all for a very fair rate. He found the quick simple fixes and I didn't feel pressured at all. Planning to use for future work.

I called because I had a sewer main problem and asked him to come take a look and give an estimate. He came by and then called me ENRAGED because he saw another plumber walking into the same property. I calmly tried to explain that it was a big job (~$7,000) so I wanted a couple of quotes and I try to schedule people around the same time to prevent driving my tenants crazy. He couldn't listen and refused to come in. I called later and he told me he was too busy taking care of his PAYING customers. I guess he's too busy and angry to get paid $7,000.

Van is the nicest guy, but clogged drains don't care, so he becomes an Alligator gobbling up the gook in your blocked pipes. He used to work for Roto-Rooter, so he's got mad skills, but imagine all the experience and the same equipment with a personal touch from a friend who genuinely cares about your sink backing up and grossing out your family. It all began when my regular plumber said he doesn't mess with clogs and referred me to a big-name franchised drainage cleaning company. They were too busy and I was too desperate. I had people coming over for the weekend and everything flushed was finding it's way into my basement bathtub. I tried the intriguingly named Alligators Rooter and Van came over early on Saturday morning. Not only did he root out the problem, but charged me the low end of his price range. You know when someone says it'll cost between this and that, he means THAT! But not Van. He's honest, amiable, and gets the job done! Root for Van, he's The MAN!

Utterly disappointed these guys asked me 21K to replace a boiler! Highly do not recommend them!

One of their employees caused damage to my car while in their work van and refused to pull over. I called management to report them of this and they told me well, you have our information and were not at all helpful. Extremely unimpressed with their customer service.

Stephen H. was very diligent, stayed as long was needed. Got the City to come to take care of their part of the problem. We really appreciated his efforts!

Donner & Sons Mechanical is fantastic. My landlord recommended this business to us and with good reason.
I live in a pretty old apartment building in Allston, so it's no surprise when the plumbing backs up or our toilet craps the bed or our shower just won't work.
Each and every time we have had the need for Donner & Sons they have been courteous, super efficient and just downright likable.
They are honestly one of the nicest and most reasonable businesses that myself and my roommate have found ourselves needing since we moved in here.
If you're in Allston/Brighton and you want a plumbing job done right, call Donner & Sons.

Very professional, honest and an absolute pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend Mike and his son Patrick. We will most definitely be repeat customers. Thank you Mike!

I called and specifically let them know that the water heater was 27 years old, within seconds of their arrival (which costed $80) I was informed that they will not touch a water heater this old. They should have told me that on the phone. They offered to sell me a new unit and inspect my plumbing for other work they could sell me. No offer to wave the $80. After a bad review the manager calls me to apologize, but no offer to refund the $80, though he offered to apply it to a new water heater. I will not be using this company ever again as I was basically scammed out of $80.

It saddens me to write a bad review, I wish our experience was better.
We live in a home with a water heater in the basement. It was about 9 years old, and we had a minor leak, maybe one cup of water a day.
I contacted Pann because their sticker was on the heater. I sent pictures of the heater, with close up pictures of the serial number etc.
Amy corresponded with me and we talked on the phone, she asked me about the previous home owners and said we were okay with warranty.
What she didn't tell me was that a minor leak from a water heater is a big red flag, should be addressed ASAP, and the water supply to the tank should be shut off. I learned that the hard way, too late.
It was the week of the 4th of July, so we made an appt for Friday morning after the holiday. The technicians arrived around 7:30am, we went downstairs and found the basement all flooded, with ankle deep water :-(
The technicians were professional, knowledgeable and experienced. They managed to remove the old heater and install a new one in just a few hours. They did not go out of their way to help me deal with the flood, since that's not their job (but it would have been an opportunity to go the extra mile and show that helping people in distress is more important than money).
The main problem was the sketchy warranty. That was the only reason I called Pann, instead of my trusted plumber. Handwriting on the Pann sticker read 10 year warranty, but the technician said it was meaningless, anyone could have written that. So I had to pay the full price for a new one, and their price was about 10% higher than my plumber's.
I called their office while struggling to pump water out, and move stuff to dry in the back yard (and of course then it rained...)
I said I was not happy and asked to talk to the manager. He did not call me back, he talked to his technician on site and agreed to match the quote I got from my plumber. That was an honorable gesture, but it made me think- why was their price so high to begin with? is it nice to take advantage of people in emergencies?...
Our basement is half finished, and the water heater is very visible. The old one was nice and white, the new one is grey, much less aesthetic. Nobody asked me about the color of the heater before it was brought.
And then the technician wrote with a sharpie on the top front of the heater, the installation date and warranty. Why not put a neat official company sticker, that will not be questioned again in the future?..
The flood caused damage, paint peeled all over the concrete floor, rugs and wood furniture were a total loss, stuff in cardboard containers was a wet mess. It took me days to clean up, dry and dehumidify. Fortunately not enough to trigger an insurance claim, but enough to make the aftermath quite a headache. Again, it could have been avoided had the office rep told me to shut the water off and have the heater replaced promptly.
An important lesson here- have a utility pump ready in your basement, and make sure the outlets are GFI. When the extension cord falls into the water, a GFI can prevent en electric shock and save your life.
My impression was that the technicians are good professionals and good guys. They are well organized, equipped and capable. The things that need to improve are communication of urgent measures on the phone, and clearer and more honest warranty.
