I am THRILLED with this service. My previous toilet (it was actually the defective Flushmate pressure assist tank) EXPLODED one night. Like war-zone, porcelain-shrapnel-spewing explosion. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.

So, needless to say, I needed a new toilet fast, as I only have one bathroom. I hopped on Yelp and searched for plumbers and saw that this one was open 24/7, so I called at 9pm. It's not that I was looking for 24/7 service, but I just wanted to get the ball rolling, so I could take care of this first thing the next morning. I was surprised someone answered that wasn't from an answering service, and like that, the ball was moving!

I told him I needed a new 14-in rough-in toilet. That's a non-standard size, so I was worried about getting something in a timely manner and if I needed to special order a toilet. He said he would call around to some suppliers in the morning and try to find me a new toilet.

The next morning, my plumber located a toilet (believe me, 14-in is rare, weird and annoying to find!), ordered it, picked it up and installed it by 4pm. My exploded toilet was replaced within 24 hours!!! Also, I felt the quote was very reasonable for locating, ordering, delivery and installing a new toilet. What they saved me in time and headaches made it worth every penny.

I thoroughly recommend Your Helpful Plumber, because they lived up to their name 100%.

Our toilet was clogged and it was not flushing well. I called Your Helpful Plumber. Tony came to rod it, and he also replaced the valve and the flapper. We got charged for the flapper and the valve too but a little bit of water was still coming out, and it was still partially clogged. He told me that it was normal while he was putting a lot of toilet paper in the toilet to demonstrate that the toilet was not clogged and that the toilet paper would disintegrate. I told him that as he can see it was still clogged and not so much water was coming out when you flush the toilet. I called a different company, and they rodded the toilet. The clog was fixed. We never had a toilet clog again for many, many years since the other company fixed it.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
My downstairs neighbor was seeing some leaks in his ceiling that we thought might be coming from somewhere in our apartment. So I called Your Helpful Plumber to have someone come out for an inspection. On the phone, they were very helpful and friendly. They said they'd be able to get someone out the next day and that we wouldn't be charged for the inspection, only for any work that came after the inspection.
The next day, the plumber came by to take a look, and he concluded that the leak was a result of recent heavy rains getting in through cracks in the exterior brick wall, not a plumbing issue. So I thought, great, we're all set then. BUT, then he charged me $250 for the inspection despite having told me that the inspection would be free.
Now, 2 weeks later, our neighbor is still seeing leaks despite there having been no rain at all recently. So I tried to contact the company to have them send someone back out. But, every time I call, it goes straight to voicemail. I have left messages and sent several texts (I believe the number listed is the owner's cell, as he had texted me previously about scheduling the first appt) but have not heard anything from them. I texted the actual plumber who had come out for the inspection as well, and he said that they'd be happy to come back out for a second look at no charge, but that I'd have to contact the owner for scheduling.
Now after 3 days of trying to contact them, our hardwood floors outside of the bathroom are buckling very severely, so I am pretty certain there is some kind of leaky pipe under there that needs to be addressed immediately, but I have still not been able to get a hold of them. I ended up having to schedule a different plumber, and now I'm on the line for an additional $150 after this company basically robbed me of $250 for not doing any actual work and then disappearing.
Do yourself a favor and find a different plumber, these guys are super shady.

Used them in 2015 to fix something for our tub. Wrote a check for the service. A week later, our checking account info was stolen. How do I know it was them? We had written exactly one check from that account - to Your Helpful Plumber.

For what it's worth, their work was shoddy as well. A few months later we had another plumber in to do another project. He ended up tearing out everything they had done and replaced it for us at cost because he felt bad that a fellow plumber had done such a shitty job.

Just updating to say that the owner fired the plumber who came to our place and made such a scene. I am hopeful that the rest of the business is much more polite and honest.

My buildings are old and I have a need of repairs all the time, my plumbers were out of town and my friend had used your helpful plumber and told me to give them a try she was very happy with all they had done for her over thw years, so I called and talked to Terry the owner he truly was helpfull Tim and his son came out right a way to fix leaks under kitchen sink.. Very prompt and efficient. pricing was great for late in evening. They even made a trip out to get parts and we're back in no time to finish up the work. Everything runs smooth and dry. DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER!!!!! This business is an absolute atrocity. I am completely appalled and shocked at our visit from the helpful plumber, which now in retrospect is extremely ironic. The plumber, which I use this term loosely due to the fact that he knew as much about plumbing as my dog, arrives at my business awkwardly with his mother? Also, wearing a t-shirt that said F*CK Obama. First impression was quite unsettling but the water heater needed fixing so I lead them to the problem. After about 5 minutes of poking and prodding, water begins to violently shoot out of a pipe as if to put a fire out! Panic ensues. I ask him what is happening and his dumbfounded response is I don't know! Something tricked me! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?? Water continued to rush out of the wall quickly ringing in a tab of over $65,000 worth of damage!!!!! The water ran through the floor into our basement office ruining computers, washer/dryer, and professional camera equipment to name a few things that are now dead. Our tech was confused and quickly left once the damage was done and now, convenietly, no one can get ahold of anyone at the company. These guys are scam artists and completely bogus. I repeat...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

My home warranty company had contracted with this plumbing company to repair my sump pump that malfunctioned causing some minor basement flooding. Your Helpful Plumber was scheduled to arrive between 9am and 11am. They never arrived, and I called and texted the company but did not receive a response. My situation is urgent as another severe rainstorm is forecasted for tonight. I called Choice Home Warranty at 4pm to let them know that I needed another plumbing company to come to my home and to cancel the request for Your Helpful Plumber. I went to Home Depot and purchased sand bags to put around my garage in case the rainfall tonight is heavy. NEVER rely on this company, as they are totally unresponsive.

Terry (and his mother) showed up at my work to fix a simple hot water issue. Within a few minutes, water was shooting out everywhere in the back room. Our entire basement was flooded which is where our office is located causing thousands of dollars worth of damages. Computers, printers, tools, many other supplies all covered in a few inches of water. Terry had nothing to say or a way to fix it. Essentially, it was not his fault. He was tricked by the pipes. I had a bad feeling the second I noticed his f*** Obama t-shirt. We have been trying to get a hold of Terry or anyone at this company that seems to not even be a real company for days. No response. This place is a scam do not use them.

These guys were great. They came the first time we called and unclogged a clogged toilet in about 15 minutes. I was a little leery that it was finished so quick and they assured me it came with 90 day guarantee. A week or two later I was right - and the toilet clogged up again- I called back and they promptly came out and after a bit more work the plumber unclogged it again - this time dislodging the detritus that was clogging the toilet.

All you want is honest good work- and these guys follow through!

I had a similar experience with this company as Michael. They never showed up on the agreed upon time to check a pipe that they installed but was leaking. I really liked this company before this experience. I've tried to call Teri (the owner?) three times and I texted him twice and he never responded. It's now over 2 hours after the agreed upon time. I wonder if they will ever show up or even call me back? This is really disappointing as now I'll likely have to hire another plumber to fix what might be their mistake.

Update: I got a hold of Terry and he promptly sent someone out. This is a good company. Maybe just a little unorganized

No one likes looking for a plumber - it's hard to know if you've got someone you can trust, hard to get a return call... all kinds of things can go wrong. So - I was VERY pleased to find Terry.

I had 2 small repairs that I needed estimates on, and another maybe thing to work on. I found Terry on Yelp - he was very friendly and up front about everything on the phone. And faster than I could handle - I called with the expectation that he might be free in a week, and he offered to come by that day - even though I told him these were not emergency repairs. We coordinated timing of his home visit via text (always appreciated). He worked around my schedule, and was precisely on time. Friendly, personable, professional, neatly dressed.

I showed him the one thing that I thought needed repair. He examined it, and was able to make an adjustment in a few minutes that resolved the problem completely. I showed him the other 2 repairs, and he gave me assessments that I could understand, and what seemed to be very fair cost estimates right there on the spot. And he told me directly that these other repairs were totally optional - based on the cost to repair and on my usage, I would do just fine without doing anything at all.

So - beyond professionalism, what impressed me most was the fact that Terry was not out to make a buck on repairs. He could have easily sold me on doing those optional repairs, and charged me for the quick fix he did, but he didn't. He wanted to see me satisfied, wanted me to understand what was involved. In short, wanted to make sure that all of those things that could go wrong went right - way beyond expectations. Helpful, honest, fair. Terry is my new plumber, for sure.

Had water heater installed by them few months ago on my 2nd floor unit. The job was not done properly and water leaked to 1st floor ceiling, floor and to finished basement. I texted them and the guy said he would come the next day but no call, no show. I'm paying another contractor to fix their work that was not done properly. They're nice enough guys but I am super disappointed and now basically it's costing me double. I do not recommend.

UPDATE: shortly after leaving a review, I received s phone call from Terry apologizing and offering to make amends. I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now and update the review to 5 stars. Thank you Terry.

This company is wonderful! They came out the same day to fix my shower drain and toilet. They called when they were on their way and showed up a few minutes early. The owner is so nice and helpful as the company name implies. He's the type of guy you want sit and have a beer with!! The only slightly negative I have to mention is the cost. They rodded out my shower drain and removed the toilet clog in 20 minutes and it cost me $300! Yikes! After they left, I found out that plumbers are crazy expensive no matter who you call. Similar work would've cost me $250-$400 with any other company, so their prices are, in fact, reasonable. Just be prepared!

Overall, great reliable service. I would definitely use Helpful Plumber again!

Aces! I am very pleased with this service. I went from a phone call to a fixed sink in less than two hours. Andrew and Justin rocked it and were in and out. I called a month ago and spoke with Terry on the phone. He was also very helpful but I needed to wait for landlord approval. My tenants kitchen faucet started leaking with a hissing sound upon waking up in the morning. It was a very cold that night and they were worried about a burst pipe. This is not the first time I had this company come over to fix plumbing issues. They have been very good and reliable so far each time so we decided to call them to check and make sure. Justin came up right away within a few hours, diagnosed the problem, and its not a burst pipe and its just a faulty faucet which needs to be replaced. He came back the following day and replaced the faucet and tightened the leaking sink basket drain. Pleasant pofessional cool guy! gave us several tips too. Id call them again for any plumbing issues.

My garbage disposal had stopped working. After a trip to Home Depot and a new disposal in hand I started calling plumbers on Yelp and received some outrageous quotes to have it installed. Selling our condo and needed to have an inspection and repair completed. I was able to easily schedule an appointment with Terry. Obviously they are busy as he took my call while out on a current job. I assume that being busy is a good sign.
He sent out Steve who was professional, friendly, and quick. He inspected the plumbing on our toilet and replaced the wax ring seal - noting that the builder should have installed a larger ring initially. Steve cleaned up and was here and gone within 20 minutes. I highly recommend Your Helpful Plumber.

Nothing is worse than getting a phone call at work during the day of an emergency plumbing leak. After calling around to a few places, the team at Your Helpful Plumber were extremely helpful and accommodating in getting a plumber to my house within a few hours.

They were extremely helpful, friendly, and got the problem fixed under 30 minutes.

Most satisfying was that they didn't take advantage of a terrible situation and were completely understanding. The charged a very fare price for a water leak emergency, when most places will gauge you or try to rip you off.

I called Your Helpful Plumber at about 8 PM on a weeknight. My daughter had a kitten that had climbed under and behind the dishwasher and he was trapped. We needed to get the dishwasher out to get to him. Terry was unbelievably kind, concerned, and helpful! He had someone available to go rescue the kitten within 10 minutes. I can't thank him enough for being SO responsive and sympathetic. The kitten made it and I will keep this number in my phone contacts for any future plumbing issues... hopefully not including live animals!

My second bathroom shower hadn't worked since I purchased my apartment and then suddenly I realized I had a guest coming in 4 days. I called these guys on a Sunday morning and they arranged to come Monday morning without an issue.
They arrived slightly late but called me to let me know they would be twenty minutes late. Great customer service. They diagnosed the problem quickly, gave an accurate assessment of costs and fixed it all with a minimum of fuss and cleaned up spotlessly after the work. They even chased me down the street with a receipt for the piece to show me the true replacement costs. Everything was perfect and the team was incredibly pleasant. Could not fault anything. Our double kitchen sink started backing up and it was clear there was a drain clog. Before calling anyone, I took apart the traps under the sink to make sure they were clear, which they were. I then tried snaking deeper into the pipes, with no luck.

Time to call the experts.

Your Helpful Plumber was just like the name suggests...very helpful. Called them around noon on a Saturday and was quickly given a window of 3-4 pm for them to come out. They arrived promptly at 3:30 and got to work on fixing the clog. Within 30 minutes, everything was fixed, and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely call them again.

What can I say? Timing was excellent and they got the job done. Not really much to explain, we had a problem with our shower and they got it fixed. But even more than that, they figured out there was actually a problem with the main line which makes them even more credible in my book that they were able to find the larger problem. Nothing seemed messy or dirty post-plumber and it wasn't hard to schedule a time. They were very work-friendly and easy to talk to. I would recommend Your Helpful Plumber to anyone in the Lakeview area and any nearby area because they don't play around...they get the job done. They'll have your toilets flushing and your shower draining in no time!!

I've used Terry and 'Your helpful plumber (YHP)' in the past. He was fine, for ME. Actually, I though he was great. THEN my 90 year old aunt (she has her wits about her, amazingly) needed a plumber...so I raved about YHP. I called Terry for her, but this time Terry didn't show up...his brother did.

Terry's brother did the first part of the job...it went fine. Then, the second part of the job was to change out a kitchen faucet. Well, Terry's brother told my aunt he didn't have the part and he'd come back another day...BUT he still charged this 90 year old woman! She's 90 and counts on me, so she just paid him. I called Terry and he did refund the money.

Last...I've wanted a couple of estimates in the past two years, as I own an apartment building: the first one was to move my water hose to the other side of the building and the second was (yesterday) for a 'backed up' bathtub. Terry quoted Well over $1,000 for the hose and $225.00 - $275.00 for the tub. I called and USED Windy City Rooter for the water hose $650.00 and $149.00 for the tub. I'm sticking with Windy City Rooter.

I tried to remedy the slow drain in my tenants shower and sink. I gave it the college try and knew when to throw the towel in...not literally. One of the tenants mentioned their friend who had used Your Helpful Plumber and recommended them. I decided to give them a chance. That was at 10:30 am. They met me at the property at 1pm and communicated beautifully....a challenge for many these days even with cell phones. Terry was not only prompt, he was pleasant and got to the issue immediately. He quickly used his special tools, which I did not possess to unclog the slow moving drains. We tested for leaks and before you knew it he was done.
Hi highly recommend this team to help you when you need them. Oh and the price is more than fare.

Had our sump pump checked initially for possible malfunction since i had seepage issue (which never occurred since we bought the house) last Monday during the extreme heavy rain-- turned out sump pump is not working and what we heard running was the ejector pit. Steve was sent by Terry and he replaced the pump and when he was done-- I noticed leak from the pipe while vacuuming, called him back (responded quickly), and fixed the pipe issue. Good service.!.

Terry and T.J. arrived within 30 minutes of my call on a Saturday to fix a clogged bathtub drain. Done in one minute.

While I had them here, I wanted to show them a leak between my unit and the unit below me. I removed the panel on my jacuzzi tub and stuck my hand through an opening between floors to get a video of the leak. THEN I DROPPED MY PHONE.

My phone was lost between 2 floors of my building below my tub and we couldn't see it. These guys worked tirelessly in an attempt to rescue it. They even had to saw out a big chunk of the subfloor by the pipes. They used gorilla tape, their own cell phone video feature, and various kitchen utensils until.... 45 minutes later, they brought my phone up from the abyss. (Maybe they'll upload the video so you can see the rescue attempt firsthand.)

And they didn't charge me. And when I gave them a tip, they didn't want it.

These guys are so kind, quick, and competent. 5 stars!

We had emergency leak at our tenants apartment. It was midweek and after 5pm so i was really worried that i was going to have to wait for someone to come out. We found this plumber through a google search and they were willing to come out the same day. It was definitely more but again i can appreciate someone coming out the same day and he was there in an hour. The leak was coming from the toilet on the 3rd floor and already coming through the ceiling of the 2nd floor tenants. Terry's team was quick and he followed up to make sure everything was going well. They also have a 1 year warranty. Needless to say that we have not had any problems!

We couldn't be happier! Called at 10 am (talked to a someone who trouble shot with me, which was nice and they gave me a quote) they were able to come by noon. They evaluated the problem and talked us through the whole thing which we really liked. Bada-bing bada-boom knocked it out in 20 mins! They even told us how to prevent future problems.

All in all they were just what we were looking for. They were nice, quick,informative and they honored our yelp coupon which kept us totes in budget.

Terry quoted me a price of $125 to unclog a drain in my rental property. Then he charged my tenants $200. When I complained, he said he'd send me a check for the $75 overcharge. Followed up several times over multiple weeks, still no check.

There was a leak in one of the showers, which had seeped into the ceiling of my office, and the other shower had no water pressure. The plumber arrived within 90 minutes of my call (as promised), quickly identified the problems with both showers, fixed the water pressure issue within an hour. They told me the other shower simply needed to be re-caulked, which was something I was able to do myself. They didn't pressure or try to upsell me to do the caulking job, which was nice. The price was very reasonable, even more so because I bought the Yelp deal. Will definitely call them for other plumbing issues in the future.

I found this company on Yelp and I'm very glad I did! I'm a new homeowner and have not needed much work done to date. My toilet had not been flushing and then my bathroom sink had an extremely slow drain. I finally got fed up and yelped plumbers in the area. They came the same day!!! He had two guys out here within 2 hours on a Sunday (and NFL playoffs are going on) who were both friendly and professional. They snaked the drain in question and were done within 20-30 minutes. Gave us some useful tips like to use bleach and let that sit overnight and never use drano as it'll ruin pipes. Cost $250 and came with a 6-month warranty. Can't say enough good things.

I had a gas leak after Best Buy installed my new washer and dryer. The closet was full of gas and I knew they wouldn't come back... Quick and dirty summary: responsive, quick, professional, and fairly priced. Terry will definitely be the first call I make in the future if I have another plumbing issue.

On a recent Saturday we had the unpleasant surprise of a fair amount of water in our basement bedroom. We thought we figured out that the source of the water was a backed up sump pump. Called Your Helpful Plumber and Terry answered on the first ring. He was professional on the phone and provided an estimate for various repairs associated with the sump pump.

Terry was able to be on site within 30 minutes and quickly gave us the bad news that the issue was not a sump pump but rather a more complicated (and serious) sewage ejector pump. Terry quickly took apart the system to figure out if the pump needed to be replaced or just repaired. I appreciated their efforts to keep a dirty job as clean as possible by spreading a tarp out on their work area.

Unfortunately, the pump could not be repaired and had to be replaced - but I also appreciated Terry allowing me to see for myself that the pump needed to be replaced. Terry was also very professional about providing us with an estimate for the work before he took the whole system apart. I thought the estimate was a fair price - although I did not do any comparison shopping and the work certainly had to be done.

Terry quickly went to buy the replacement pump and then returned and completed the task. Terry even went through the effort of cleaning the area thoroughly when the job was finished. After the work was done, Terry also agreed to give me a discount from Yelp that I had not asked about - which was much appreciated as the repair was not inexpensive (although, again, I think the price was fair).

Terry provides a four year guarantee on parts and labor and even called the next day to confirm that the system was still functioning correctly. Great service all around.

The only minor blemish I'd give them is that they tracked a bit of dirt onto our carpet - but I don't think you can expect anyone to be perfect, especially with all the snow and ice outside and the need to perform such a dirty job.

So a couple of months ago back in August or September, my roommate and I were experiencing a slow-draining shower in our apartment (which is a garden unit). We tried the zip-it to see if we could remove any hair which we believed was the cause of the problem. After browsing Yelp for Plumbers in the area, we came upon Your Helpful Plumber and were VERY skeptical about them because of all the great reviews on Yelp, but it was the only place open 24 hours (it was 11pm when we called) so we scheduled an appointment for the following day. One of the guys came by with some sort of air pump to shoot air through the shower drain to unclog it. After multiple attempts, this didn't work but instead it caused our toilet to start leaking and making gurgling noises. After trying different things to our toilet and sink, he assessed that the problem wasn't with our unit but with the main pump of our entire building. He called two other guys to come and assess the situation and they came promply within 30 minutes and sure enough, they had to replace the main pump. As stressful as this entire situation was for me, I can honestly say these guys are great and were able to solve the problem at hand.

Our sunpump was constanly working and our sewage was backed up. I called few different plumbers as I am 9months pregnant and wanted to get it done asap. Steve on the phone was very nice and told me that it would cost $325 to rod the main sewage line which I wrote it down, but I totally forgot the price when his plumber Frank showed up to look at it the same day. Plumber Frank told me it could take 2-3hrs or more that he wouldn't know until he starts, and it would cost $400. He was done in 15min, in the mean time I called Steve and confirmed the price of$325, but Frank still charged me $400 for 15min of work. I felt like he was taking advantage of my urgency. Frank, congrats ripping of a pregnant lady, but he did rod the line. Then we learned that rodding the main line may not resolve our issue which there may be leaks on the pipes that may require structural work.

On Saturday May 31 we came home to a leak in our bathroom ceiling. My upstairs neighbor was not home, but we had access to his unit. I went up Sunday morning and couldn't see signs of a problem. Sunday morning we called the helpful plumber to come assess the situation. Based on my past experience I was expecting to need to cut the ceiling open, assuming it was an issue with the plumbing in between floor.

When the plumber arrived (on Sunday at the time they told us) he investigate several possibility causes of the leak without making any holes. On a hunch(there was no visible water) we pulled out the fridge and found the source of the problem. He quickly made the repair and took care of a couple other minor maintenance issue we discovered along the way. We were thrilled to not have to cut the ceiling and need drywall repairs.

These guys are nice, courteous, on time, and found/fixed the problem. I will call them again should I have another plumbing issue.

Can't say enough good things about Terry and his crew. Our toilet was stopped up and we desperately needed to get it working again. As I was cleaning up the kitchen tonight, water started pouring out from under my kitchen sink cabinet. Everything under it was soaked. I cleaned everything up and put a giant bucket under the sink after looking up into where the faucet goes into the countertop (because when I turned the water on that's where it seemed to be coming from). I couldn't figure out exactly where the leak was, and knowing the morning routine would be a pain without a leak free faucet, I scoured Yelp for a good plumber. Your helpful plumber popped up. The reviews looked great and I gave them a call. Terry, the owner, answered. I described the issue. He told me to grab a wrench, and patiently waited for me to find one. Then he told me to pull the spray nozzle all the way out and told me to tighten the nut on the end of the nozzle. Voila, fixed.

Yeah-I know. I'm am really not handy. However, less scrupulous people would have charged me $200 to come out here and tighten that nut instead of help me fix it over the phone and charge me nothing. Terry is programmed into my phone now as my GO TO plumber! Thanks so much for being awesome (or, like I told him on the phone-magical like a unicorn!!).

Short version: 5 stars - I finally found a responsive, professional and honest plumber.

Long version: Our basement ceiling was leaking Sunday night so I called 8 plumbers who all advertised 24/7 business hours, but only 1 answered the phone. Terry gave a fair estimate and arrived on-time Monday morning - even before any of the other 24/7 plumbers returned my calls! 5 stars for responsiveness.

Cant say enough about their service. They showed up within an hour or so of calling them, and Terry was very helpful and professional. We had a hair clip stuck in our toilet and our building's maintenance department couldnt get it out. We were told we would have to remove the toilet and it was going to be expensive. Terry and his helper worked their butts off for about an hour, determined to get the clip out without having to resort to the more expensive plan B. IF YOU HAVE A PLUMBING EMERGENCY CALL THESE GUYS!

My husband and I woke up at 1am to water pouring out of our bathroom ceiling and an inch of standing water on the floor.
We called Terry at Your Helpful Plumber and he was ready to help immediately! Not only did he get a plumber out to our house in under an hour but he also walked my husband through step by step on how to try to stop the water while we waited.

Overall, Tim and Uncle Rocky came out on a short notice and helped resolve my issue quickly. They arrived on time and completed the job quickly. Moreover, they were very nice and a good mix of friendly and professional.
We have a 'vintage' (aka old) condo and in one of the bathrooms we have the original tub and faucets, which can be a pain. However, Tim and Rocky were able to find the necessary parts to fix everything quickly and luckily in the more cost effective way! Terry & Tim are trustworthy and true to their word. I called on Monday to get an estimate and by lunch on Tuesday, my bathroom sinks were 110%!!
Tim not only was there early to give me a no-charge estimate but he walked me through the issue, recommended I buy the hardware to save a few bucks, and gave me a very fair price for the labor. So fair, I had him fix a both sinks, just in case.
Tim actually stopped at the Home Depot to pick up the parts I purchased online and completed the install in under 2 hours. Great Service. Great work.

FANTASTIC JOB. I highly recommend Terry for any plumbing problem.

We recently came home from a trip to find that the pipes had frozen. I called Your Helpful Plumber and Terry answered immediately. He gave me a VERY reasonable price and sent 2 people out within a few hours. Unfortunately, this first crew tracked mud through the house and did not leave the bathroom in the best condition. Terry had them come back, clean up, and make sure I was happy. The problem had not been solved tho (it was tricky), so Terry came himself the following day. He worked tirelessly for 3 days, never gave up, and finally found the root of the problem. It wasn't easy, and many other people would have given up or charged more. He never charged a penny more than original price. He worked around my schedule, making it convenient for me.

If the gas company shut your gas off because of a gas leak, you have to read this review. I called Your Helpful Plumber on a late Tuesday afternoon and received an immediate call back. Within 3 hours, Tim and Rocky arrived on premise to do a pressure test--required by the gas company to isolate gas leaks. Sadly, the leaks were extensive but we were given a reasonable quote for work to be performed and parts. They started work the next day. It took two days to perform the work but Tim kept me informed throughout the process. Our building is close to a century old (pipes are a mix of old/new, cooper/steel, etc.) so the task at hand was not an easy one. I would definitely give future jobs to them; the price is competitive and they know pipes!

Had a toilet issue at my rental property and wasn't sure what the cause was. Called late morning and they were willing to come out that day. It wasn't an emergency so we scheduled for the following day. I was given a one hour window time frame and they were 10 mins early. Tenant said a lotion bottle had fallen in. They tried for 30 mins to remove the object from the middle of the tank. There was no way for it to be removed without breaking the toilet, so a new toilet was needed. They offered to pick up a new toilet for me and return the following day. They showed up on time, were efficient and left the job site clean. Price was reasonable and I was not charged for the service the day before when they tried removing the object. While they were there I had another tenant with a garbage disposal issue. They inspected it and found the motor to be bad. They offered to replace it for me, but said my general maintenance guy would probably do it for less money. These guys are professional, efficient and honest. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future.

My basement flooded over the weekend and I called Your Helpful Plumber to figure out why it flooded and what needs to be done so that it doesn't happen again. I called on a Monday early afternoon. The person who answered the phone said he could have someone out that night or first thing the next morning and that he would call me back and let me know which time. He was also able to provide a quote for diagnosing the problem, which is very helpful. Great! Several hours went by and I hadn't heard back from him so at 5pm I called back to confirm the appointment time. I spoke to the same man and he took full responsibility for forgetting to call back but assured me someone would be at my house between 9am and 10am the next day, Tuesday. It is now 11am on Tuesday, and no one has come by and I haven't heard anything from the company. When I try to call to find out what is going on there is a message saying the voicemail box is full. I was really hoping for a positive experience with this company as I just bought a house and will have plumbing needs for years to come, but it looks like I will not be relying on their services.

I needed to have some major work done on my two flat. Another company came in and gave me a quote of almost eight grand, so I decided to call a few more places. Terry offered to go 10% percent lower even before looking over the job. I suspected the other company was padding things with many extras so I asked Terry and Tony looked over the job thoroughly and give me an estimate on what they thought really needed to be done. He couldn't have been nicer to the tenants and more straightforward to me. He had to break through a few walls but he cleaned up the place remarkably well which made it easy for my handyman to close everything up and repaint. Terry will be my first call in the future!

Terry and his crew were amazing. I wanted to get my front drain looked at ASAP and they worked it in even tho they said they were incredibly busy. He quoted me a fair price and then gave me a sizable discount on top! He is very responsive to phone calls and text and just overall is a reliable guy. Called them at 4pm and they were at my place by 6pm with pump in hand and they were done replacing it by 7pm. They did a great job, had prices that were at or better than the competition. Also, the plumber let me watch the replacement and even showed me how to replace the pump if I ever needed to do it in the future (in the distant future, hopefully). I would recommend these guys for any plumbing needs.

I had a great experience with Your Helpful Plumber. On a Saturday, he showed up within 90 minutes of my call and immediately detected the source of the leak. He was able to fix it without major repair or labor and even waived the extra charge for a Saturday call. I've removed all other saved plumbers and will only call MY Helpful Plumber in the future!

I highly recommend this company. The plumber came the next day over the weekend and charged a fair price and truly did an excellent and clean job of my faucet installation. Were helpful all around with helping me order what I needed and getting the parts. A nice bonus is that the guy on the phone and the guy who came was really nice too and I trusted them. Fantastic! Called early Saturday evening, they arrived late Saturday evening! Had kitchen sink backing up into the dish washer, the team worked hard, showed genuine concern. Terry answered my call at 9pm on a Friday, and had a team out that replaced a sewer extractor pump (running out to Home Depot to get a new one). They had to come back for a pipe back up on Sunday afternoon as well. Terry returned my call on that Sunday morning and made sure we would be taken care of. I was happy with the service on the off hours!

I called YHP on a desperate Friday night, after our hot water conked out. Terry picked up and tried to first walk me through the issue over the phone in order to save us money and a visit. When our troubleshooting didn't work, he came up w a number of solutions, even texting me phone numbers to the water heater company in case I decided to go that route. Ultimately we wound up using our usual plumber because he was able to offer a slightly (but only slightly) better deal on what wound up being a very costly job but Terry was a star and we will definitely use him in the future. He lives up to his company's name.

Terry was able to come out the same afternoon I called right before Memorial Day weekend after a tenant notified me of a leak coming from the ceiling in the bathroom. What I thought was going to be a quick wax seal fix turned out to be much more. The rear of the toilet bowl was cracked which meant I needed a new toilet. I agreed to purchase a toilet of my choosing myself and Terry would come back the next day to install it. The next day during the toilet install, it was discovered that the lead collar in my 100 year old pipes were cracked and disintegrating. Terry pulled out his tools and like a renaissance blacksmith, expertly poured a new collar and the new toilet was ready to install. A few issues arose that were out of Terry's control but when he starts a job, he finishes it. I had a working toilet again and a happy tenant before the end of Memorial Day weekend was over. Once finished with everything, Terry goes out of his way to clean the surrounding areas where he had been working which is a definite plus! Terry also is very knowledgeable about the prices charged by other plumbers and I found that his prices are fairer than most!

Was very pleased with the service from initial phone call to completion. Called for an emergency fix of a clogged kitchen sink in a tenant's apartment. Plumber was there a few hours later and explained everything that needed to be done to fix. He cleaned up after himself and was done quickly. I would definitely call them again for plumbing work!

Second time I have used Your Helpful Plumber for our business. Couldn't be happier with their service and quick response! Spoke with Terry who assured me he would get the job done although they went through so much trouble the last time. I was told he could get someone here in 1 hr.. As landlord out of town with a burst pipe in my tenants unit, I can say I was bit stressed. Even though they were very busy- pipes bursting all over the city- the first walked my tenants through turning off the water to minimize the flooding. Later the day they came and fixed it up at a very reasonable price. The entire time they were exceptionally friendly and professional. Though I hope I will not need to call them again, if I do, I will not hesitate.

The team at your helpful plumber was great! They came out on Saturday and Terry offered me some great advice after our basement took in 6 inches of water. He was very good at communicating and getting someone at our house on a very busy weekend. The team went with me to Menards and helped me pick out a water heater and all the parts necessary to install. They were able to drive the large water heater to my house and made quick work of the replacement. His team also did a great job cleaning up and moved the old water heater out of the house. I would recommend his team to anyone looking for an honest and prompt plumber. I will definitely be using him for all my plumbing needs.
