Best Plumbing Services in Chicago, IL

We had a clogged sewer line backing up from the floor drain where the washer drains into but also backing up from toilets.  We called them (Chicago Hts number but surely the same business) and like the Yellow Pages ad says, they were out within the hour.  The estimate was $250-275.  They rodded out the main line using the cleanout in the front yard and quickly the toilets were flushing smoothly.  

But not so the floor drain.  I had had some inklings that there was a clog very close by so it didn't totally surprise me that we actually had two clogs.  And, boy did they have to work to clear this one, finally having to remove the standpipe thing coming from the washer and even having to bring in the big machine they used outside.  (They were having to snake through a trap in the piping under the concrete slab floor to get to the clog.)  I asked if releasing that clog would potentially move on to reclog the mainline and true to their word, they went back outside and rodded the mainline all over again.  They explained what they were doing and why they would do it the way they did at every stage.

The floor drain clog took a lot more work than the mainline clog and they could have asked for double the quote.  In the end the tab came to $400 which is not cheap but I think for 2 men and the amount of time spent not only doing it but doing it right (so far as I could tell), it was reasonable.  Hopefully it all stays free running for a long time.  I would use them again when the time comes.

Had some reconstruction done due to a sewer pipe backing up and Gary and Brandon came out to reset my sink, toilet, washer and dryer(With steam feature).  They were right on time as agreed to, kind and worked very efficiently. They honestly told me about a sink I bought wouldn't be easy to put in so we just returned it and had the original one put back in with new fixtures. The sink looks like new.I would not hesitate calling them again for any of my plumbing issues. Thank you for your hard work! Great company to work with!

In short, I stand by my review below!  Still the same excellent dude.
Also responds promptly through his answering service, and it's never a big scheduling issue to get him out.
NOTE: he doesn't want to do big remodeling jobs.  If you're just switching stuff out, or have repairs, he's your guy.  But check with him, you know?
PS: I ordered stuff from Algor plumbing in Cicero.  I get the discount since I'm working with a plumber & you can tell Pekny has serious cred at this place.

Awesome guy who fixed my plumbing problem in five minutes after another plumber worked on it for three days.  Also he checked a few other issues for free. Reasonable price as week.

Had received a quote from another plumber for my cabin in Three Oaks.  Thought it was somehwat high so decided to get a second quote before proceeding...so glad I did!  Not only was Goodman lower but my experience from initial call to on-site completion was top-notch on all.  Nick (owner) took time to explain the issues and even though they ran into an unexpected on-site issue (I actually had a 120v water heater versus a 220v), he was able to pivot immediately and get a new unit in and install it the very next morning in time for guests arriving following day.   Could not recommend this company enough - just an honest, efficient, professional small business that always make sure they have a happy and satisifed customer whatever it takes.  Thanks to Goodman team and will be recommending you to all the other owners at Lakeside Cabins!

Bob was fantastic. He called me back within hours of leaving a message, came the next day, showed up a few minutes early (!!), and fixed our issue in record time. He even took the time to explain the problem and how to prevent it in the future. Folks, Bob is your plumber!

We needed help with removing our toilet and replacing the wax ring, but we didn't have the tool to cut a rusty screw. They were quick to respond to my initial call and flexible with coming later the following day when my husband was home from work. They arrived on time and were done very quickly, at an affordable price. Both men were polite, friendly, and social. We will definitely be saving their number for future needs!

Gus is fantastic! Reliable, efficient and very helpful with all our handyman needs. He has given us great advice and installed some light fixtures, fixed plumbing issues and other electrical work. I know that we will use his handyman services in the future! Highly recommend.

Glenbrook Plumbing was not able to help me with my particular water heater, but I appreciate their candor in letting me know that up front and giving me suggestions on how to find a plumber that can help.

I have a gut rehab in Chicago and I called to see if this was a company that can handle the plumbing. This guys was extremely rude and just wanted the address. He then said, You wouldn't have the money for me, I don't want my trucks in that area. Our property is just off Oakpark and in a great up-and-coming area. I earn six figures and this is my 4th property. Just because I am a minority doesn't mean I don't have the money to work with you. I probably earn more money then you anyway, but above all this guy was very condescending. If you are a minority or someone that supports equal rights, don't give this guy your business. Let him earn it in white collar communities he probably can't afford to live in himself.

If i could give -5 stars I would. Called these people they quoted me a price for a part and a fix of my AC of $890 plus their $90 fee to come out. I called another company, the guy was out in 10 minutes, with the part and his 7 minutes of work he charged me $70 this place is full of thieves.

We recently hired him for a small shower renovation. We paid him $4k and he never finished the job. We had 3 separate plumbers check his work and All of them said it was incorrect. We ended up paying someone else to finish the job correctly. He ghosted us and never responded to us after he took our money. HORRIBLE! Please Do Not Hire Him!!!

SHADY! SHADY! SHADY! This company reported me to a credit agency for work they supposedly did at an investment property of mine ten years prior. When asked why I had not received a call, email, letter, or fax in the previous ten years, the owner, Joe responded...our bookkeeping hasn't been that great, but we're following up on stuff now.  I have invoices paid in full from another plumbing company for the same work Public Plumbing claims to have done, the same month back in 2001. When I asked him why I would have had the same work replicated the following month for $2,500 by another company, they said I don't know.   BEWARE, if you have them come out and give you an estimate for work, they may report you to a credit agency 10 years later for not paying them on work they were never actually hired to do and did not do!
