Best Plumbing Services in Chicago, IL

Needed their service again for a different plumbing issue. Again, a great experience from the person taking the call and scheduling the appointment to the plumber who provided the service (Pat)!  Called them on Friday afternoon and since it wasn't an emergency they had someone here on Monday morning!  Professional and pleasant interactions all around.  Quick service and knowledgeable staff.  They are now favorited in my Yelp app as my go-to for plumbing needs!

Our water heater died and was leaking heavily into our guest bedroom ceiling last Sunday morning--just one day before my wife went into labor with our son.

Luckily, Mac came to the rescue on Wednesday by helping us deal with the leak and installing a brand new water heater. He was efficient, fair in his assessment and indulged my idiotic questions about maintenance and repair.

On the phone, he promised we'd have running hot water by the time we took our son home from the hospital and absolutely delivered on that promise. Highly recommended!

I requested a service call for a broken water heater at 9:00 pm; the pilot light had gone out and would not re-light. The staff member who took my call was courteous and got back to me promptly with confirmation that a technician could arrive within 3 hours. He showed up at 10 pm. Unfortunately, it was a waste of everyone's time. He took one look at our 7 year-old AO Smith water heater and told me it should be replaced with a Bradford White. I had to persuade him to even attempt to relight the pilot. He refused to try with a grill lighter or to do any step-wise trouble-shooting, telling me more than once that when things start to break on an AO Smith water heater, it's best to simply replace them. It was hard to tell if he knew anything about water heaters, but he was happy to charge $125 for the after-hours service call.

2 days later, the water heater has been fixed for less than $500 by my regular plumber from Rocket Plumbing (who don't offer 24-hour service). I requested a refund of at least $100, if not all $125, and I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I received a 50% refund, the staff were friendly, and the service was prompt. Unfortunately, aside from the recommendation to consider a Bradford White for our next water heater, it was of no value.

UPDATE: a few days after posting this, I received a call from Rescue Plumbing's owner, who expressed his commitment to making things right and agreed to provide a full refund. I upgraded the review to 3 stars = OK.

Best plumber ever.  I've had Anthony to my house a couple of times due to some plumbing issues right after we bought our place and the experience was awesome (as awesome as fixing plumbing issues can be).  I'd used them in my old condo as well, and found them to be professional, easy to work with, on time (or early), informative and they do great work.

I refuse to use another plumber ever again, having recently had a bad experience with a home depot contracted plumber (who HD sent for free due to messing up my kitchen remodel).  Rocket Plumbing stands behind their work for good reason - it's great work and they have integrity.  Also, their office is super easy to communicate with, they are so good about scheduling/confirming and incredibly professional.  If you need a plumber, use these guys.  You will not regret it.

I set up an appointment with them and they never showed up or called. When I called them 2 hours later asking if they were still coming, they said that the plumber got caught up in another project and wouldn't be able to come until the next day. I had taken the day off work for this appointment and was very disappointed in their disrespect of my time.

We had a leak in our house after regular hours and after searching on Yelp, we decided to call Windy City Plumbing. My husband got a call back in about an hour and got an appointment scheduled the next day. Chris and Julio came and snaked out our pipe and got the job done. After 2 hours, the leak turned into a bigger mess. We called them back and Chris and Julio returned the same evening. It turned out to be a bigger issue and stayed until the job was completed (around 10:15 pm). We were so glad Chris and Julio found the true issue and fixed it fairly quickly. We will definitely use and recommend Windy City Plumbing for plumbing needs!

We've used First Chicago Plumbing a few times and have always had a great experience. Their customer service is quick, responsive and friendly. We had a blocked drainage line backing up in our basement. They moved things around to  come out the same day we called and their pricing was fair. They aren't the cheapest but we've used other services and you get what you pay for. They were upfront about their pricing. Will definitely use them again.

Quick service and fair pricing.  YouTube unfortunately couldn't help me fix this issue by myself, so I had to call in the plumber; very pleased with the results.

Very Inconsistent estimates and when asked questions, the answers did not sound genuine. Not interested.

Green Tech is the best plumbing service we have used to date. Referred to us by a friend I. The business who is retiring, we found the whole team at Green Tech to be very timely, professional, and reasonably priced.
Mark was excellent. He diagnosed our issue quickly, and had it fixed and working perfectly within no time. We are very grateful to know the team at Green Tech and will absolutely be using them for all of our plumbing needs.

Clogged sink and I was so thrilled to see that Danny was still with Midwest.

It was really blocked this time, and probably my fault as I had been trying to clear it with copious amounts of baking soda and vinegar. I think that it hardened in the pipe. (Don't believe everything you see on YouTube.)

Danny was persistent, trying with three different machines and a lot of perseverance until finally it gurgled and drained. Most plumbers would have given up after it didn't immediately work.

He is pleasant to talk with, offers suggestions on how to keep it clear and he gets the job done. A real asset to his company!

EDIT: I originally gave gave 3 stars but they did reach out to me and refund me a portion of the bill. I feel they should still do a better job of providing an estimate of the price before coming to the job.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: The charge $400 to fix a wax ring on a toilet. It only took them 10 minutes to fix it and they did respond within an hour of me calling but that is way too expensive for the job.

Darrell and Enis were out within 15 minutes after I called (after hours) and were quick, efficient, and friendly.  Very responsive and a pleasure to work with. They took all precautions for COVID, booties and masks. I would recommend them to anyone for any electric or plumbing needs.

I used ABV plumbing three different times and will continue to use them in the future for all plumbing needs. They are honest with pricing, flexible with scheduling, and very professional in helping me understand options instead of just selling one thing. This level of transparency is usually not encountered with services such as these and for that reason ABV plumbing will always be my go to when needs arise.

I've used this company before...always very reasonable, friendly and honest. CJ Plumbing & Heating did quite a bit for my house. They sold and installed me a water heater, replaced our faucet in the kitchen. They also installed a new toilet in the downstairs bathroom. Everything turned out very well. Prompt, professional and not pushy with their services. Very happy to have a good plumber I can call whenever a need arises!!!!!

I just got a condo and bought it knowing the master bath did not have a working toilet, no water in the tank even with the valve turned on. I sent out the general yelp estimate search and Mike gave me a call back right away. I told him the issue and he was able to come out same day. He got my toilet working fast and helped me with my new shower head. The price was great and will definitely be calling him when i need things done in the future.

Juan & his son were AMAZING! We cannot recommend them enough.  They are extremely responsive, friendly, helpful and reasonably priced.  Juan moved around his schedule on a Saturday to install a toilet last minute for us. He also ended up staying longer & installing 2 faucets for us (that we thought we would be able to install ourselves which clearly didn't work lol). We will definitely be using them in the future & recommending them to all of our family and friends!

Price a bit more than I expected, but he was second plumber I called after the first one charged me without finding the source ceiling water leak was coming from.
