I highly recommend this plumber. He went above and beyond in making sure that our toilet was fixed properly.  We had originally called roto rooters and they could not fix out toilet after coming out 5 times and charging us nearly $1000.  I called Pat, explained to him the situation.  Pat advised me on the proper toilet to buy and had one person come out and install the toilet for half the price of the other company.  And the best part is - it is fixed and working perfectly! Thank you Pat and Katrina!

Mac was amazing!! He came all the way out to our house, only to find that somehow my fiancé and I just weren't re-lighting the pilot correctly lol. Because it was such a short visit, he didn't charge us - he was adamant about it. Just asked that we keep him in mind if we ever needed a plumber, and we 100% will. He was so friendly, nice and informative. He told me all about why the pilot went out, how to prevent it from happening in the future and what to do if it goes out again. All free of charge. Just a really great guy and great experience. Highly recommend!

Our toilet flooded in the middle of the night on a Sunday. I didn't want to risk serious water damage, so I did a quick search & found fast response from Discount Plumbing. I requested a quote on yelp and they responded within minutes & they said a technician can come out & gives me a FREE quote with no obligation. They arrived in minutes and my toilet soon was able to flushing like it was brand new! I appreciate them walking in with booties and walking me through the whole process & answering my questions. UPDATE: Brian, the owner, immediately reached-out following this review concerned about our experience. We contacted him and walked through everything. He offered to correct the issue at no additional charge, bring all necessary parts, and send plumbers he could personally vouch for. They completely redid the toilet and redid the piping under the sink. The correction was above and beyond what we would have expected.

I can appreciate that things don't always go as planned and the response is even more critical. He wasn't defensive but really wanted to help us out. At 7 months pregnant without working plumbing - I certainly appreciate how easy he made it.

Not a good experience. Highlights:

-had them come out to quote work for a faucet, disposal and toilet fix
-told us the parts we needed to supply and we had them ready to go
-show up and immediately say we need valves replaced for another $300. If it was that blatantly visible why was it not included on the quote?
-insist that the drainage is correct even though the individual who quoted us said it was absolutely wrong and needed to be changed or overflow from a blockage would go into our dishwasher - at a minimum they need to get their story straight. We still paid the full quoted price even though none of this was adjusted.
- didn't look closely enough at the toilet issue upon quoting to let us know we needed a new handle. Ok, I can take part of that blame we should have asked/had greater general awareness. But, because of that the job was left incomplete. From a pricing standpoint, initially I was told the toilet would be tossed in for free, then the quote was amended to $97 for the toilet which we were charged and told it's be another $90 to come back and install the handle - basically, double. So we still have a non-functioning toilet.
-the job took several hours to complete with at least one extended break (for a faucet, disposal and toilet)
-they were on time and generally pleasant to us
- could not supply a labor warranty to us upon completion

-pricey, conflicting stories and an inability to correctly quote even in home results in 2 stars..

Truly an amazing company.  I originally called Chicago sewer and Drain for an issue I was having relating to my furnace drain in the wall.  My home warranty company later assigned their own technician, so I cancelled my appointment with Chicago sewer and Drain.  The company selected by my warranty,  didn't do anything so I called Chicago Sewer and Drain back and they were able to come same day.  That was truly amazing.  With in a matter of minutes he was able to diagnosis the issue and give me an upfront transparent price with no hidden hourly rates or fees.  The technician was honest, transparent, and confident.  I also forgot to mention I'm active duty military and this is a rental property, so we were able to complete the entire experience via phone.  He additionally documented his work by allowing me to see the issue via video and to hear the problem.  I've never had any technician go above and beyond like them.  They are trustworthy, honest, fair and I will use them again and highly recommend.

Windy City Plumbing went above and beyond to fix another plumber's major mistake.  The owner and his employees communicated every step of the way, were extremely courteous and were easy to work with.  Being such a large project, the owner broke down each step and checked in with me daily to ensure that I was satisfied with how the work was progressing.  

Windy City Plumbing's pricing is fair and accurate.  Prior to calling Windy City Plumbing, I found out the hard way that plumbing pricing estimates can vary widely.  The quality of the work speaks for itself and is well worth every penny.  They are the only plumbing company I will ever call as long as I am living in the area.

Eugene and Jorge did a great job replacing my tankless water heater.  They really took their time and did a top notch job.  They really know the Navien products well and their response time and communication were the best of the plumbers I had bid on the project.  Highly recommended.

I interviewed 5 plumbers before deciding to work with Kevin on our kitchen remodel and updates to two bathrooms. Kevin is fantastic. He's meticulous, taking care not only to get things done right but also to make his work look beautiful. That's no easy feat in a vintage building with old pipes, but he managed to do it. I have already recommended him to our neighbors.

We contacted Jesus late on a Sunday night for a rough quote to replace an old sump pump that died over the rainy weekend. He responded immediately, offered a very (very) fair quote for the job, and scheduled a visit for the next morning. In just a couple of hours, Jesus replaced our sump pump with a new one, made a height adjustment to avoid sediment issues thanks to our poorly built pit, gave advice on a situation we need to sort out with the city water department, and even talked us out of an upgrade we thought we needed (but didn't).

And the quote stayed the same.

We are really happy with our experience with Jesus and J. Sewer & Drain and absolutely plan to call again for future general plumbing needs.

Dennis and his wife had the pleasure of Green Tech Plumbing Co and Kevin and Chris Green perform above excellent plumbing work on different pipes and installing faucets with above excellent timing and workmanship and care and professionalism approximately a week ago. They gave us above excellent customer care involving a complex plumbing problem. These are real plumbers with above extensive experience and excellent respect for us as customers. Use these plumbers we need to keep them in business. We are not related to the staff at Green Tech Plumbing Co.

Connected with Mike to try to get quotes for our HOA. Sent a video of the issue, but he would not provide quotes for issues without coming in person and charged a fee to come for a quote. It is possible that he was frustrated by some of the text messages I was saying and that our HOA would not pay for him to come for a quote, which is his company's usual protocol. When I asked for referrals to another plumber when he would not provide any additional quotes, he would not supply any additional plumber company contacts. I was very disappointed with his communication and will never reach out to this company again.

This is my second time using Captain Rooter, and the second experience lived up to the 5-star experience first time.

Adam and David came right out the following morning after calling in late at night.  They were professional and knowledgable.  Fixed my issue, and left the site in a better state than it started.

The service was wonderful however I was over charged for services that were not needed. I knew what the issue was, and they still chose to look at my tub last which was the cause of the power surge. I was charged for the opening and closing of 7 outlets that had nothing to do with the issue when the smoke came out of the tub. At the end of the day, my tub is disconnected, my circuit breakers  (that had unknown water damage) was replaced, and 7!!!receptacles and trim plates were taken off and put back on.

*I did update this review from a 3 to a 5 because they did reach out to me and adjust the over charge. They truly are a great company.

Trust! I think trust is most important in choosing an expert to fix a problem. Of course experience, knowledge, ability and integrity are also needed. But trusting the reviews written by others or trusting the recommendation of a friend is sometimes all we have to go by. I had a clogged drain about 15 feet downstream from my kitchen sink. It was the result of overzealous use of the garbage disposal. I tried snaking the drain myself but the clog was too big (turns out about 2 feet of drain was totally blocked). I did research on several websites looking for a plumber in my area who I could trust to do the work right - at a fair price. I narrowed the list to 4 companies. At 7:15 PM on a weekday I called each of them. I got two answering services that could not answer any of my technical questions, another said they would have someone call me back in a few minutes (never happened) and then there was Dmitry. Dmitry is one of the owners of CJ Plumbing. He answered the phone himself. He was able to discuss my issue intelligently, explain the likely scenarios and give me an estimated price range (min and max) for the job. It was clear from his questions and his input that he understood the problem and knew the likely solutions. As it turns out, he was absolutely correct about the issue and what it would take to fix it. I wanted to consider what he said before making a commitment. He said I could call him back anytime in the next few hours. I called several hours later and again he answered the phone and we scheduled a visit for the following afternoon.

The plumber who showed up (not the person I spoke to) was a delight to work with. He was professional, polite, and patient as he answered my many questions. He tried a few easy options to fix the problem (e.g. using a powered drain snake). When those did not work he said the best option was to cut out the clogged section of drain (which he had located) and replace it with a new section of pipe. The clogged part of the pipe included two 90 degree bends. He removed that section and replaced the sharp bends with pairs of 45 degree bends to allow waste to pass through the more easily. The drain pipe ran along the ceiling of my unfinished basement so there was direct access to the pipe. After replacing the section of pipe he verified that there were no leaks and cleaned up the area of the basement where he worked as well as the area under the kitchen sink. He even cleaned the sink.  

I was VERY pleased with his work and with his personality. The cost of the repair was within the range quoted on the phone (though near the higher end). My trust in CJ Plumbing was rewarded by their performance and their honesty. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to friends and family. I recommend them to YOU.

Spoke with Mike over the phone and he gave me some DIY advice on some of the trouble I had with my old faucet. Though, I didn't feel comfortable changing the faucet myself as the pipes I had were old, I decided to have him come over and do it. During the process, I was able to watch and he answered all the questions I had about what he was doing and he answered all the general plumbing questions I had. I would highly recommend him as he's very knowledgable and patient.

Juan was a pleasure to deal with!  Knew he was going be late for my appointment and called me 10 minutes ahead of time to apologize for the delay and make sure it was still ok for him to come out.  Then did the job quickly and explained what he had to do as he did it!  Then charged less then half of other quotes I received!  Would highly recommend Juan for all your plumbing needs!

Noel is fantastic! After not hearing from another plumber, I called Noel based purely on his yelp reviews. He answered immediately, set an appointment ASAP, and gave me his rates on the phone. On the day of the appointment, he called to confirm and showed up right when he said he would. Noel quickly and kindly diagnosed my leaky sink, talking me through his thought process the entire way. I learned a lot about my kitchen plumbing and Noel gave me great tips on home maintenance. The whole experience was lovely and professional. I will definitely call Noel again and recommend him to you!
