Everything about dealing with King was happy. First, I called a few days ago, on Sunday, when my furnace quit. I was very happy to get an actual person, who asked a couple questions (along the lines of repair? replace?) and said someone would be out that day. ON A SUNDAY. Already, these guys have a customer for life. OK. Derek calls ahead, appears a bit later. He checks out the old furnace, we talk about options, cold spots, stuff like that. I chose a furnace, got a price, set installation (first available) for Tuesday - 2 days. The other places I talked to wouldn't even have a sales guy out until after that; good thing the outdoor temperature wasn't all that cold.

Installers came early Tuesday (yesterday), did a great job, showed me where to change the thing (forgot what it's called) in the humidifier and the filter in the furnace, even figured out how to get the Call for Service message off of my (not new) thermostat.

Very happy, and not freezing any more. Even the former cold spots in the house are nice and toasty.

Needed a service call due to both the furnace and AC not working. The tech, Frank, analyzed everything and found that the real problem was the thermostat. He replaced it and now all is in working order. He knew what he was doing and what to look for, and in addition, was very friendly and polite.

Recently, I had my vent cleaned by Oscar and Jacob, from King and they did a wonderful job. They were kind enough to work with my availability and they were very informative on the whole procedure. They ensured to work very efficiently and were very professional at all times, from the moment they arrived to the moment they left. They ensured to clean up everything and have everything looking the way it originally was. Once they were completed, they gave me a breakdown of all the work that was completed and what I needed to do afterward. I'm very happy with my experience and will be using them again in the future.

So I can understand the $100 fee for showing up and giving a diagnosis. But to change someone $295 for a starter (capacitor) that sells for $12.99 is a flat out robbery. So labor for a 20 min job is $280. I definitely recommend looking somewhere else. The technician did fast work and I have no complaints about him. But DO NOT LET THEM RIP YOU OFF.

Had King out to replace my furnace in December and they were awesome! Had them back to clean our ducts. Jacob and Matt came out and did a great job.  They answered all my questions and did a very thorough job. I will definitely have them out next time.

I called King for our furnace tune up last year. No complaints, the tech was very nice and probably did a great job. I enrolled in the Royal treatment Plan at that time. According to their website, they were supposed to call me to schedule the A/C tuneup in the spring, but they never did. When furnace time came, I called and they said I could use the service credit for this year's furnace tuneup and start over in the spring. OK, fine. I scheduled our appointment and was given a 6 hour window. At the end of our 6 hour appointment window, no one had shown up. I called to ask if something happened and I needed to be rescheduled. I was told the tech was on the way. Another two hours and nothing- no one showed up, no call or text with an update or apologies and offer to reschedule. I called to tell them if someone was still coming I did not want anyone coming to the house this late. It's now 8pm and I have been waiting around for this appointment for 8 hours now. A 6 hour appointment window is totally asinine to begin with. And while I understand that delays happen, the lack of communication is completely unacceptable.

***Update***
I received a phone call from the company today. Apparently my phone number was listed in their system incorrectly. They acknowledged the mistake on their part and offered to extend my service plan free of charge. I appreciate the genuine effort at a service recovery, and will go forward hopeful that all goes well and I can continue supporting a local business.

Called to get an estimate for a hose bib replacement. Told I would have to pay $99 to have the plumber stop by to give an estimate for the job. I asked for a ballpark number, I was told the plumber would need to look at the hose bib. Next....

I am a Costco member and King Heating is the company Costco uses to install Lennox HVAC systems. I got three quotes from different companies and Costco/King was the lowest cost option and I saw enough good reviews to feel confident in hiring King to do the work. I made the right decision. The workers showed up on time in the morning, worked hard on installing my new Lennox furnace until after 6pm, and answered all of my questions. It's 22 degrees in Chicago at the moment and my new furnace is working perfectly. While I can't speak to the long-term functioning of my new HVAC system yet, so far so good!

Well the 2,200.00 quote was way off. 30 yrs in the service business I never quoted some b/s to a customer. 4 season came out and laughed at what I told him was wrong. 550.00 later all done ‍

Our A/C went out recently and we called King cause we had them do some things in the past.  John was very helpful in talking through the issues and we decided to replace the system because of King's 0% financing.

They replaced everything, it looks awesome and John and the rest of the people at King remained super responsive to our questions and concerns.  They definitely care about customer satisfaction.  It was one of the best/easiest experiences I've had with service to my house.

We found King Heating of Frankfort, IL via our Costco membership.  King Heating is an established company so we were glad to work with them.

We had other quotes a year ago for heating and air conditioning.  But we could tell we were working with smaller HVAC companies with lesser furnace options.  Using King meant having a Lennox furnace which is an industry best choice.

My review is primarily to compliment our two installers:  Joe P. and Jeff D.

1)  On time.  Joe P. and Jeff D. arrived on time, ready to work.
2)  Efficient.  These men multi-tasked on their work.  They have been a team for years.
3)  Great Customer care.  When they were complete we could feel the heat coming through the vents.  Joe P. explained our new fancy Ecobee controller which is both on a wall and controlled via iPhone.  I myself have taught many how to use computers and Joe P. was a good trainer, good customer care.

Trustworthy.  Ultimately, you want to trust your vendor, installers, and their work.  You can trust King Heating and especially Joe P. and Jeff D. in your home to get the job done while you're watching grandchildren or TV.

I heartily recommend King Heating of Frankfort, IL using excellent installers like Joe P. and Jeff D to install your heating and air conditioning.

We called for a free inspection after seeing a booth at Home Depot offering the service.  After a confusing phone call to set up appointment, someone called me asking if we needed a quote for new equipment or an inspection.  I said inspection, and he very rudely says I'm a salesman not an inspector like it was my fault his company is clueless.  I ended the call there and called another more professional company.

I had a tech call me to get a quote on a service. He said he would get back to me in a few days. After a few weeks I called them and they said they would have the tech reach out to me, he never did.
I have contacted them multiple times and they just never got back to me. Don't waster your time with them. I am sorry I did.

Todd and Tony were the techs that came out to install our new furnace and A/C unit. They were on time, extremely knowledgeable, worked quickly and efficiently, AND they even fixed/ran new venting for my hot water heater vent that had a hole in it...which they noticed while working on the furnace...noticing that is a big deal. That hole could've dumped carbon monoxide into my home...so for them to catch it...and fix it...when that wasn't part of the reason they were here...is HUGE.
I was told the furnace and a/c install would take all day (8am to dinner time)...they were done by 3...and my furnace is enclosed in a tight area.

Sales worked well with us prior to service as well. Beat all other competitors out by a significant margin.

We've used King before...we used them for this project...we will use them again for any other needs in the future.

Ask for Todd and Tony for your install...they were great.

I called to have someone come out to repair my water softener. They made the appointment and the gentleman came out and said they do not repair water softeners and I was charged 99 dollar service fee for something they should've told me on phone He gave me a price for a new water softener which they do install. My water softener is only 6 years old I just want it repaired. Also why would I have them install new softener and them not come out to repair if I had problems with it. Very disappointed I have used Chicagoland for decades and never an issue. This is first negative experience since King bought them. I am waiting for call from manager. I do feel I should be reimbursed since I was not told on phone that they do not repair softeners

Avoid. I do my homework - read reviews, use Youtube and get three quotes.  I really wanted to use this company and keep business local to Oak Forest, I could not. Tech arrived and broke into the classic HVAC sales pitch - heat exchanger cracked (he could tell by a slightly rusted screw on outside), carbon monoxide risk (scared wife) and quoted me very high price for installation of new high end (he only had two in stock) replacement unit. He then signed me up for with an email company sending me nag emails every day. I went elsewhere and saved $1500. In a world of Melvin's, this is where he lives.

I purchased a new A/C & furnace combo when my furnace broke down in the middle of winter. I was kind enough to allow them to install the units months apart in 2021 (furnace installed in Feb., A/C completed in Apr. or May) due to their own scheduling issues. I was promised a check-up on the A/C when summer came around to make sure everything was running properly. That never happened. They continually push for you to pay $100 for a service that was promised upon purchase. Summer 2022 rolls around & on the hottest day in years, my A/C won't cool my house below 75°. The unit is ~1 year old at this point and they refused to send a tech out to inspect without me agreeing to their service fee. Mind you, it's 100° outside and the A/C is blowing warm air into my home. A manager agreed to send out a technician while waiving the service fee. 20 hours later I finally get a call that a tech is on his way to inspect the issue, but that was never his intention. The pompous, freshman level tech only wished charge me for emergency service (20 hours after I called) to claim that the A/C coils were dirty and they needed to be cleaned. Without me agreeing to any service at this point, he grabbed tools (a hose & a spray bottle) and cleaned the outdoor A/C unit then wanted to charge me $195 claiming it to be an emergency. All while never addressing the underlying issue to begin with. The A/C unit still won't cool my home to desired temps and now the outdoor unit is making odd noises after his emergency service. I recommend looking elsewhere when making these major home investments.

We contacted King for a routine inspection and cleaning, regular maintenance. Our appointment was confirmed the day before, the Technician let us know when he'd arrive within the window we were given. We received both text and phone calls. Such a nice , polite gentleman. He changed our filters and recommended a surge protector. We've been customers for years and this is one of the reasons why. Our technician was masked. I offered to wear one as well but informed him that we were vaccinated and had our booster. He said he was as well. I appreciated that. He is the first we've allowed in our home.

These guys charge you 80 bucks (with coupon) to say to you- you need a new furnace. Guy didn't use a carbon monoxide detector or snake camera to inspect the heat exchanger... He just whipped out a little mirror with an extension to show a crack.
Go with someone else, these guys don't work with you and the coupon is scam city.

I wont use them for anything! they sent a clown to my house, on 08/03/2021.  I requested and annual AC service, this fool went straight to my furnace and lied and said the heat exchanger and and evaporator coils were bad, a new furnace/AC would cost $6000-7000!  the dimwit barely look at the AC, which was the initial request for service! I was a loyal Hollway and Meyer customer. I will never call them again!!  screw king heating, FOOLING & scumming!!

They were happy to take our $148 to have summer and winter clean and check.  When they came out to clean our AC unit they wouldn't clean the Acoil (evaporator coil).  They explained that they can never get dirty.  Funny the air comes in past the filter and through the A-Coil, this happens year round.  Then they wanted to charge me an additional $125 to clean the A-coil.  

Yeah, if you want half the job done for full price  call King Heating and Cooling.

The only reason I gave  them one star is they did fit me on the day I had an issue.    The tech came to the house and in 10 min told my wife we need a whole new furnace and also told her we need a new air conditioner with out taking a look at the unit (in November)  I was out  $89 with out him even cleaning the unit or really looking at it.   I was  told it would cost around $4000.00 to $6000.00  and need to do it before it  broke down.   I did not feel this was the issue and had another company come look at the unit and he cleaned and adjusted the furnace and told me nothing was wrong.

Not sure if the whole company are crooks  but the tech was not a honest person

They  actually serviced and replaced my air conditioning system when the unit was under warranty with another company... only billing me a small labor charge ... King went OUT of their way to HELP ME ... and had zero obligation to do so .!
I will recommend them every time and their work is impeccable!

This is a real review from a real customer. First, let me say that they worked on the A/C, and I  have a contract with these guys to come out and check the furnace in the fall. I'll refuse service and they can keep the money. I'm just going to cut my losses while I'm ahead. At least the furnace works at this point. Now here's my experience, (and I told them I would Yelp):

A/C went out on a 90 degree day. I called this company, and I was called back and told that the repairman would not be able to get out that day. Business must have really been booming. I said OK. Of course I was going to call someone else, and I should have!

Suddenly my phone rings and amazingly the repairman can get out to me in 15 minutes. How lucky for me....right. Yes, lucky me. He arrived and everything in the world suddenly was wrong with the unit, but he just happens to have all the parts. Yes, lucky me. He said he would have the unit fixed in 15 minutes. Wow, lucky me! THE BILL CAME OUT TO $742 FOR  15 MINUTES OF WORK!!!! YES LUCKY.@#%$....ME!!

I got quotes from other services before choosing King. The sales rep was knowledgeable, quick to respond, and answered my questions. I could not say the same for the other companies I tried. We were swapping out the furnace and AC, and the King technicians arrived in schedule, worked through the day, and were patient in answering questions, particularly about the new wifi thermostat. The new system is so much better at spreading air throughout the house, and more efficient. I strongly recommend these folks.

We had King install Carrier furnaces and central AC at two of our homes without any major issues.  Both homes utilize their annual maintenance plans, which do not plan on renewing due to the concern described below.

Unfortunately, we recently received a better price to have an Air Scrubber installed from a competitor. After spending more than $13K with King, they would not beat the price to retain a previously loyal customer.  

Actually, they wanted to see the quote from the competitor in order to match the price.  We do not need to jump through hoops to purchase again from King.  We decided to give our current and future business to their competitor, who took care of us from the get-go with better pricing for the SAME item.

What a way to loose customers...

Recently had King replace a hot water tank for me.
From the estimate (Jim) to the installers (Kurt and Craig), everything was perfect. Water heaters are expensive (over $1,000). They gave me fair price with coupon. They were clean, professional, and knowledgable. Very very happy. I hope they keep up the good work.

Avoid this company at all cost. I called King out on the coldest night of year when my boiler would not ignite.  I was desperate and they knew it.  An inexperienced service man came out, did no real troubleshooting, just took some pictures, called into the office, and said my boiler was old and had a cracked heat exchanger (not true).  

His invoice noted:  Found relief valve not working clogged up fuel tank is full, reducing valve is clogged up with the water,  central part have water damage, psi no, bake heat exchanger has slite crack, recommended to speak with advisor before doing repair.

He left with a final good luck, without getting the boiler working, and charged $125 for the service call, without providing any service. He sent the pictures to someone else for guidance. Then, referred me to a salesman, for a new boiler quote.

Brandon quickly called me and said he reviewed the pictures and confirmed I had a cracked heat exchanger, the main block of the boiler.  A 140K BTU Burnham boiler would cost $7687, or $6500 if I pay cash, but had to make the decision that night. Before spending that kind of money, I wanted a second opinion.  

I called JSR.  Joe came out and troubleshooted the problem using a meter, explained and followed the entire systems' operations, and got the boiler working within an hour.   He charged me just $155, told me which part I needed to order to fix the immediate issue, and walked me through how to install it.  I needed a new aquastat relay, since ours was not getting low voltage.  The part was $200 vs $500 if he ordered and installed it.  He agreed our 18 year old boiler was in rough shape, but with some maintenance, it could last us many more years.  

I installed the new part but could not get the boiler to run again.  JSR was not able to come by, but referred us to Van Drunen.  They also reviewed the entire system. They determined that during the install, I may have accidentally tripped the rollout switch near the flue or it may have tripped due to the closed damper.  He reset the switch and confirmed the damper is wide open and holds position.  

He explained our DUNKIRK boiler could last up to 30 years if well maintained.  While mine had not been, he still agreed it could last for years if I just serviced it and change out a few parts (reducing valve keeps filling and the pipe before is very corroded).  He also agreed the heat exchanger is NOT cracked.  He charged us just $145 ($78 for call and $70 for labor).  Please, save yourself time, aggravation, & money and avoid this place and their unethical business practices.

I have a bad layout for my kitchen so when I purchased my new dishwasher I didn't even bother asking The Home Improvement store to install it.  I called King and set up the appointment.  Jordan came out, and realized our entire water line under the sink was not to code.  We spent the weekend removing the corner cabinet so he could access the illegally placed water shutoff (who puts a water shutoff inside a corner cabinet???)... and, well, we found a bunch of super corroded pipes because OF COURSE you attach copper directly to galvanized pipes!  (facepalm)  Jordan came back the next week and did a fantastic job of cleaning up the spaghetti system into a nice organized water line, and making all the pipes copper so we won't have any more leak problems or yellow water.  I was expecting the total bill to be well into the thousands and I was quoted a great deal and I feel that I was treated well, given high quality work, and I have peace of mind that this will last years.

King has implemented an extensive COVID-19 Policy accompanied by King COVID-19 Temporary Risk Management Procedures... the video is misleading. Tech showed up and had to go back to his truck because he forgot his mask. Came into my my home with no gloves or shoe covers. Went in and out several times without taking precautions. The mask was a good thing. But it was the ONLY precaution he took.

My water heater (or so we thought) was making an odd sound and I figured it needed to be replaced. I called King and they sent someone out to give me a quote. I then made the appointment to have the water heater replaced. Jordan was sent to do the install. He took one look at the small, cramped utility closet and realized he didn't have the right model needed to fit (it wasn't notated on the quote) and would also need help to remove the old heater. Jordan jumped into action!  He called the home office and was able to get the slim model needed and had it brought out to my house. They were able to remove the old heater with no problem and the Jordan was able to replace the heater. Jordan was friendly and courteous and did a fantastic job. During the install he realized it wasn't the heater making the weird sound but it was the sump pump in the crawl space right below the closet. He was able to replace that, as well as fix some other issues that would have caused problems in the future. Jordan and King did a great job!

I called king because I was having furnace issues I told them that I believed the gas control valve was sticking they had a tech at my house which was awesome and he did a fantastic job it was the gas control valve and he also found a cracked inducer motor he start to break down pricing for what was wrong and it totaled around $1500 I asked him what a new unit would cost and he told me that he didn't do the estimates for a new install but he would have someone that does that come out either the same day or they would contact me to setup an appointment well I waited for 4 hrs and no one showed or called I called another heating company they sent someone out estimated the job and installed the next morning I know king has been around for many years but it just seems foolish to let business go when all that was needed was a phone call and they would have had a loyal customer for life

We've been using King Heating/Cooling for a few years now.  Not too often, but when something goes out or malfunctions we need someone who will answer the phone kindly, send someone quickly and have that person that does come be knowledgeable and honest.  For us, this company has done all three.  

Over the summer, Jonathon came out to do a minor repair.  It was exactly how a call to an HVAC place should go.  He was great to us.  Good guy.

This week, on the coldest day of the year, our furnace went out and we called.  This time, Vince came out to our house.  He was a friendly, professional, family person and it was obvious that he had tons of experience both with HVAC and dealing with people.  He gave us a very detailed explanation of what was wrong, how to maintain the furnace, what to look for in the future, what else was showing wear and gave us many, many options and ideas going forward.  

We very much appreciated the high level of service that Vince performed and also the integrity that Vince showed.  King Heating and Cooling is very lucky to have someone like Vince working for them.  

Highly recommended for HVAC service.

I called for routine maintenance on my tankless hot water heater because it was losing hot water. I was quoted $99 for coming out. The tech tells me the board is bad and wants $400 just for service. I will never call them again.

They get one star for having very nice, helpful and friendly phone staff. That's about it.

The AC in the condo unit I rent out stopped working.  It world kick on, blow cool air for a few minutes and shudown. My husband and brother (who just finished school for HVAC but doesn't have much working yet) thought it might just need a freon recharge so I had King come out to look at it.

I wasn't there when the tech came for the service call, but he called me after he was finished and told us the compressor was shot, the a-coil was clogged and dirty beyond all repair, the lines needed to be replaced. Basically the entire system shot and needed to be replaced to the tune of $14,000. The replacement would also include cutting into walls and ceilings in my unit and the unit below mine. (This wasw not gonna fly in my association or with those neighbors.) We asked about other options, and the other other options he offered was a free standing unit, but advised that would still require the lines to be replaced (read: still cutting into walls.)

Since $14,000 isn't anywhere close to in my budget (and basically caused me to have a panic attack), we had someone else come out. This time it was a friend of my father-in-law. He confirmed the a-coil is, in fact, clogged, and that portion of the system needs to be replaced. However, that was it. The rest of the system was in full working order.

We also found out from my tenant that the tech from King never really even looked at the part of the system that is located in the unit. (This is the part of the system that actually includes the aforementioned a-coil.) He opened the ceiling and took a peek, but never fully accessed the unit or took off the side inspection panel. Basically, he looked at half the system and decided the whole thing needed to be replaced (which based on the other Yelp reviews, seems to be their MO.)

The only reason I would call King again would be to ask for my money back.

Wow, these guys are amazing. My blower motor went out and the forecast is calling for sub zero temperatures. I have an unusual model furnace and two others firms said they had to order it. Meaning I'd be without heat for three days. King had to order it too, but went out of their way to drive and pick it up. The owner came to my house and installed it same day! Unbelievable. Not only that they were cheaper! Great firm. Great people. Saved my rear end.

We had an issue with our Infinity system where we kept receiving the warning System Malfunction - Call Service Technician. Two different technicians came out, told us it was fixed, but we kept receiving the error message. Ken came out and identified the problem, corrected it, and the system has been running perfectly ever since.

Was worried about an aging furnace of course on a Sunday morning. Call King not expecting anyone to be available to come out the same day. Wonderful Giuseppe was at my door within 2 hours. He was not only very professional but also very reassuring and informative as well.
After thoroughly examining  the furnace he gave me my options. Without any pressure I decided to go with a new furnace. It will be installed tomorrow. He was so accommodating with the installation time correlating with my work schedule. I had King replace our air conditioning unit on a very hot day 3 years ago and have no regrets.

I have used them to clean my furnace a few times.  They do a good job for a good price.

They show up when they want to - not always good; and park behind your car in the driveway.

I had a fire in my ductwork and I called King Heating at 5 in the morning while the firetrucks were still there and they sent out a technician named Marvin who identified the problem and also explained to my insurance company the situation so that they approved a brand new furnace.

Marvin was courteous and respectful of my home and communicated the issues at hand in a way that I could understand them and King Heating answered the adjusters questions over the phone to get things moving.

When time and professionalism count you can count on Marvin and King Heating to take care of you.

I'd recommend them to my family and friends.

My review is only for a new system install. I have no comments about fixing an old system because I was just looking for my system to be completely replaced. I had no idea how old it was, but the ac condenser was at least 20 years old and the furnace was at least 12 years old and had not been serviced at all in the 12 years. We had numerous people to our house, even one guy from sears that was a real cock-a-doodle-doo and come to find out, he doesn't even work for Sears. We had a local group from Kankakee come out and they were ok. But only had one brand of furnace they could install. They then proceeded to trash the name of Carrier. Now I don't think Carrier products walk on water, part the red sea or save lives, but I know they are made at least decently well. Just a sales tactic. Anyway...the sales guy from King was direct and easy to work with. He gave me all my options and kept his opions out of it. He measured and calculated and in the end, he did not trash the other estimates. He did say, I could give you their price, but with better equipment. I could give you the best equipment and then show you how to get the rebates to make that equipment reasonable. And then he calculated what the equipment would save over my current system. This made my choice easy. This was clear and devoid of creepy sales tactics. We wrapped up and he left. My HVAC brother in law looked at the estimate and basically told us that it was an awesome estimate. We decided to go with the high end system, because in the end, it cost us about $1200 more and will save us $400 a year over equipment that is the same we have right now. Seems like a no brainer.

Anyway, the install, which was today. Three guys showed up PRECISELY on the dot of 8:00 when they said they would. All three shook my hand and learned my name because they called me by my name several times during the day. They seemed to work very efficiently. It seemed like it took them only about an hour to get out my old system and about five total hours to run all new lines, new electrical, new pipes and they even put in a cleanout and tied up some wires that were hanging in my crawl space. They cleaned everything up as they finished and loaded up. Then just as they left, the salesman arrived and walked us through the new system. They even programmed our new thermostat for us.

I could not be more pleased with the install. I can tell you that if the system works like he says it will, It will pay for itself. I cannot wait to get to the middle of the summer and have that nice cool A/C. Deciding to replace my total system was the way to go. I could have cobbled together a new condenser and limped along with my current system, but I think getting the total package was the way to go. I will be able to see those monthly $300 cooling bills in the summer as a thing of the past. I will let the system run for a year and report back her how things are going.

I can say for over all experience I found the four staff I worked with to be nothing but polite professionals that totally handled all of my questions without making me feel like I don't know a furnace from a toaster.

This is the worst place!!!  Try to avoid them at all cost!!  My furnace wouldn't stay lit.  I called about 3 different companies.  Naturally, King's was the first to arrive.  The technician, of course, stated I needed a new furnace.  He got my old furnace started and then spent the next half hour trying to sell me a new furnace. When he saw I wasn't going to make a decision on the spot, he proceed to take out a device which he said detected carbon monoxide.  After playing around with it for 10 minutes, he finally got it to start beeping.  Then, he said yep, you need a new furnace.  I immediately asked why the other 6 carbon monoxide detectors I have in the home (battery and electric) weren't going off.  He then told me his was very sensitive.  I told him no on the new furnace.  He charged me $85 to start my furnace and told me he was going to put on the receipt that he had disconnected the furnace.  I gave him the money and he left.

The next day it would not stay lit again.  I called a different company and all the furnace needed was an igniter.  I had intended to file a complaint against King's with the BBB and the Attorney General, but I got really busy.  I will still file a complaint with the Attorney General's office and file a complaint with every online review board.

Dale was our technician. Professional. Articulate. Knowledgeable. Thorough. Wanted to get the job done and not drag it out over days.

I like King for this reason - they have been our HVAC support for years. I will continue to use them and will ask for Dale going forward. He convinced me to get Spring and Fall cleanups and guess what? I will get them scheduled.

Our heat went out in the furnace. Called a few places and King Heating came out quickly to solve the problem. A + for quick response and A + for quickly solving and repairing the furnace. My issue is the charge to use sandpaper on a flame sensor - $275. $80 to come out and $195 for 5 minutes of labor to use sandpaper to clean the sensor.

The sales pitch was good along with the the installation crew. I received a voicemail letting me know that my warranty will go into default status if I don't call and schedule an cleaning/inspection appointment. So I did that twice they give you a 4 hour window morning or afternoon. First time they were stuck at another job, second time I called they set up the wrong time. So I called upset about this and the office ladies did not help the situation out one bit. They caused me problems more than anything else.

So I called these guys out to fix a wall mounted gas heater.  They came in said the one I had was illegal to have and then took a look at my carbon monoxide reader and boiler (without me asking).  Coincidentally, it was all bad!!  My entire Wiell McLain boiler needed to be replaced.  That along with the gas heater would be about $8,000 and I needed to have it repaired immediately.  I have kids.  I asked for them to bring in one of those commercial carbon monoxide readers to see if there really was a leak but none of them had one.  Of course mine was expired and just not good enough to pick up the low levels in the air.  They were certain there was a leak though. ugh.

I didn't believe them but had another company come out just to make sure there was no leak.  I also purchased another carbon monoxide reader (that never went off). I wanted a second opinion before I accumulated more debt and had the repairs done.  Surprise, surprise by boiler just needed to be cleaned!  It was perfectly fine.  The inspector who performed an inspection less than a year ago didn't see anything wrong with it either.

If they come out and everything needs to be repaired and pressure you to sign up for financing and they will have everything installed next day, beware.  What a waste of $89 to have them come out.

Our AC units literally died this season and we needed to replace not only the one but the second one, too. I not only got a quote from the company who we have used for our AC, Heating and Plumbing for years, I also went to the Yellow Pages to pre-screen other companies, narrowing it down to three others that were in our community area, good reputation/service/warranties, excellent product lines, and competitively priced. The other three sales representatives came by to present in an exceptionally timely manner, answered our questions and concerns very well. Though, Brandon from King, was exceptional in his presentation and knowledge. He was also extremely polite and as much as he wanted our business, as with the other 3, he respected our work and research of each vendor, the carriers they were selling, and the knowledge of each company we choose. He never down talked any of his competitors, especially since they all pretty much had the same products. We did not make any decision at the moment. Instead we did the Ben Franklin analysis and called each person back with additional questions. At the end, we chose King due to Brandon and also talking to his inside staff who would end up being of service to us from that point on. We could not be happier consumers. This entire company is top shelf and responds within moments. We did have a slight hic-up with one of the units installation, but with only one phone call, we had a technician over within hours. The follow-up is one of the best we have experienced, too. The original owner, I later found out, past away awhile ago, but the tradition of great service did not go away with the new owner. I recommend King to anyone. Thank you.

The service technician called to give me his ETA and was on time for me to meet him and go over the problem. The problem was a wire on the thermostat and he quickly replaced the rheostat. We have dealt with King Heating for 25 years, since they installed a high efficiency furnace and central air conditioning in our 100 year old Victorian, and have had nothing but positive experiences with every appointment

They were extremely respectful of our home, we felt very comfortable with him and felt we got service above the price point. Have used for routine cleaning and I guess they've done a good job.  Had a recent incident where they had 3 different guys identify three very different problems w/solutions from do nothing, it's fine to need a new unit and turn off immediately.  

Customer service over the phone was outstanding (sense of urgency and polite), but I have no confidence in most of their technicians.    (The third tech they sent was great but others were not at all).  One of their techs immediately went to the bid process for new unit and one other issue he quickly identified in my basement - really?  One tech rudely stormed out.......

I thought the price and installation of a new furnace and air conditioner by King was pretty good. The technicians were very good and efficient. The salesman who gave me the estimate at the end handed me a brochure and stated that I was entitled to a free cruise and that all I would have to pay was air fare to get to the port. I was suspicious and as it turned out rightly so. At the end of installation and after I paid I received the rest of the information about the cruise. Far from free but probably worth about $50 per person when you book a cruise with the selected travel agency. And, an internet search of this travel agency, Executive Tour and Travel, reveals that they are the target of numerous consumer complaints and not someone you want to do business with. So, you do not get a free cruise, only a voucher worth a few bucks. Deceptive in its entirety. If the owners of King have not looked into this and what their salesman is saying, maybe they should. And, after installation they hand you a brochure from the Illinois Attorney General with your consumer rights, too late for you to do anything if you wanted. The salesman should give this to you at the time of sale. Intentional?
   Kenneth, Operations Manager of King contacted me a few days after I posted this review. He stated that he looked into the travel agency and the free cruise offer. The intent was only to provide a voucher for a discount cruise.It should not have been presented as a free cruise. He immediately sent a representative over to my house with a voucher from a different travel operator. I reviewed the replacement offer and it was far better voucher with a travel company with no record of consumer complaints.. I probably will use the offer within the time frame. But, I really appreciate a business that takes your complaints seriously and reaches out to you to obtain your satisfaction. That is important to me and I am sure to many others as it seems to be a rare commodity in business these days. As I stated, the price was fair and the installation crew efficient and very good. I recommended King to my two neighbors, one who has just used King.  Thanks King !

They are respectful of my home by covering their shoes. I don't like to hover around them while they are working, but they have always been happy to answer my questions and explain any concerns. After finding water on my floor by my AC unit I looked around and decided to call King after reading their reviews and looking them up on the Better business Bureau site. I'm so glad I called ! Marvin came to the rescue! He was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of advice for caring for my very old unit. Tomorrow they will be returning to give me an estimate on a replacement and if all goes well I am pretty sure I found my new heating and cooling service team! Lived in the south suburbs since 1980, always used Floyd's but then they were sold to King. The guys from Floyd's were great. I'm a single woman and I always felt they were honest and didn't try to sell me a bill of goods. Now it's King and I just had my annual furnace cleaning. The tech told me I had a huge problem and needed 1000.00 bucks worth of repair so I wouldn't wake up on a winter morning freezing. I'm not working so this freaked me out because I don't have the money for that. Long story short--got a second opinion from another company. The technician not only checked everything but showed me how he determined the efficacy of the furnace. He also wanted to see the receipt and was disgusted because there was supposed to be cleaning and it was still dusty inside. I don't need all that work; the furnace is fine and he cleaned out all the dust, checked everything and said he'd see me in a year. I think service people or companies that try to take advantage of single women or elderly people are the scum of the earth. I will NEVER use King Heating again!

Went to the basement to find the hot water heater had leaked out in the basement. Called King and they scheduled someone to come out. Was surprised that it was all the way in Frankfort and I live in Chicago. But Kurt did show up at around 1 o'clock. Nice and professional service. Was nervous at first because it seemed like he didn't check much before diagnosing the problem. It became clear though that someone with Kurt's experience has seen thousands of these over the years and after I, the first-time homeowner, badgered him some (Sorry Kurt!) he showed me clearly what was wrong, and it was as he had said. The financing went through quickly and was only $100 more with 0% interest than if I had paid right there. He showed me how to do the routine maintenance and made sure I understood what to do before he left. Good quality installation and that evening we were back in business. Thanks a bunch!

A long time customer,  had them come to check out my AC units the usual maintenance on it.    Their tech said everything was good and so the payment of 80,00 dollars was taken.  Come back around one month later,  the house was extremely hot,  called them back to see if they could take me right away to check it out.    They wanted me to pay another 89.00 for the service fee to come out again,  and then the old 8:00 am to 12:00 appointment.    I don't know about you ladies, but as a single mother and main bread winner I cannot stick around the house for 4 hours that's four hours out of my paycheck.    I decided to call another company,  I did the Peoples Choice,  they charged me $65 for coming out,  it was a freon issue,  their tech also said that the unit outside was filthy and that king should have taken the time to clean it better..  Another good thing, ready ladies,  I made an 8:30 am appointment on Saturday morning and they arrived exactly at 8:30am  now that's service.     I have decided to use the Peoples Choice company going forward,    King remember 50 percent of marriages end in divorce in this country,  which means there are lot of single mothers who have to maintain homes,  who need fast and prompt and acceptable service on their A/C and furnace units.    Not to mention all the money I spent because your tech could not do his job properly.

i have been using floyds heating and cooling for many years before he retired and sold the company to king.  i have used king several times for cleaning the ac and furnace.  Today i had a technician come to the house for routine furnace cleaning.  after he banged and beat on it repeatedly, he sounded as if he was coming thru the floor, after beating on the unit repeatedly he calls me down to tell me i have a crack in the heat exchanger, i told him, the heat exchanger was replaced less than 10yrs ago while the unit was under warranty,  he proceeds to call the office and of course they can't find any info on it and attempt to offer a sales technician to come out to the house.  i tell them no thanks put my unit back together and give me the bill. he showed me with the camera  the cracks he put in the unit.  i'm totally disgusted with this company and i definitely would not recommend them. i really miss the old floyds that guy would come in the house with the technician and see what the problem was. my sister recommended 4 seasons, im going to use them

Used to be a Floyd's Heating customer. They were taken over by another company which installed our new furnaces and AC's in 2006. They were then taken over by King Heating who is doing our work now. When King first started with us we had another tech who we did not care for.  So we asked for their best tech person and were given Brian Starzak who has been terrific. He explains the service he is doing, does the work quickly and efficiently and repairs only what is necessary. I'm happy to recommend him to my friends and family.

The office staff is great, and the techs did a good job. The agent who wrote the order ordered a unit too big for our house, but the tech caught it and got the right unit installed the same day. It was a lot of work for them, and they did a great job. They even gave us two free cleanings for the mix-up. Highly recommended!

I just closed on a house and realized my A/C was not working! I was so frustrated and mad at my inspector for not being more detailed in his inspection. It was almost 90 degrees F in my house! I could not take the heat anymore so I called about 3 A/C companies. I was not satisfied with any of them and one overcharged me for just coming to my house and doing unnecessary work to tell me there was nothing else they could do but to get me a new A/C. My condenser was not working at all. My parent received an advertisement coupon from King Heating and A/C just that same day and they were able to give me a better deal. I met with Ralph the next day and he was able to service me and get me a new A/C unit that afternoon. He gave me $300 off from the coupon for my new A/C and willingly installed a new digital thermostat for free in the package. The technicians came on time and installed my new Payne A/C for roughly $2,000 without getting me a new matching coil. They were able to still use the same coil I had with no issues. There were 2 A/C technicians that came to my house...pretty young fellows (probably in their late 20's/early 30's) and were able to answer my questions. I got a call the next week to schedule a check on my A/C from the technicians so I am just waiting on that right now. My house is now running on A/C pretty well and I am glad I got rid of the old A/C unit and the outdated thermostat!

We had to shut down our furnace on Friday evening due to a strange sound and smell. I contacted King Heating online early Saturday morning. Their callback came within the hour, and they scheduled us for their technician to come out. The tech called to let us know his approx. arrival time. He did a great job explaining what the problem was, and what our options were. We decided that replacing the furnace would be our best investment. We first met with Ralph their salesman, who did a fantastic job breaking down all our options and prices. He was extremely professional. Ralph set-up the installation, and stated that the installer would also call us prior to coming out. Mario their installer called about 1 hour later to confirm his approx. arrival. They did a wonderful job installing the new furnace. The whole process took about 3-4 hours. Mario thoroughly explained the features of the furnace and new thermostat. Being a small business owner myself, and always looking to provide great customer service, King Heating delivered at every level. We will certainly use them for any future work!
