E.R Electric is nothing short of amazing. After reaching out to several other companies on Yelp and receiving NO calls back, I finally was referred to ER Electric. I called on a Thursday late afternoon, Romo called me back right away and came out the next morning to check out the work we were requesting, despite having to be at another job site as well. He is a man that knows his electrical work inside and out, while caring enough to do things the right way the first time and making sure it cosmetically makes sense as well. He was up front with pricing and made sure he knew exactly what we wanted, needed and expected and then came up with fair costs. We had company coming into town for Easter and I needed my inside work done ASAP. Romo and Julian came out the very next day (on a Saturday no less) to walk through the job, making sure nothing was left out and all was understood and ready to go for first thing Monday morning. We had several chandeliers installed, and moved, closed up unnecessary recessed lighting. Added dimmers and re-routed circuitry so lighting made more sense in our master bath. Moved and closed up outlets outside and installed bluetooth for our fountain in backyard. Re-routed all outdoor veranda electric for heat lamps and lights, combined all in a nice stainless steel box to hide on back of one column, and then closed all work back into the stucco and made it look brand new, so no more ugly piping is visible. Beautiful, fast work...and they clean up after themselves!!!! They were respectful of my home and family when they were here and even entertained my little toddler while working!! Romo is in constant contact with Julian and his crew to keep tabs on all progress. They were a pleasure to work with. We will be using ER Electric for all of our electric needs from here on out.

Great job installing a 240V and 50amp outlet in our kitchen to allow us to upgrade our professional gas range to an induction one. He also installed another 240V line to a new heat pump water heater (allowing us to replace our gas water heater), all without needing to upgrade our 100amp panel. Jose was responsive, professional, reliable and the price was unbeatable: highly recommended.

Have used them twice once to do a stop gap fix due to our kitchen microwave being on the same circuit as basically the whole house. They were able to get the fix in so I could live until we could put the microwave on its own circuit.
When I finally got the circuit put in they were quick, easy, and got the job done for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend and use them again.

Our garage mysteriously lost power.....the spare fridge and washer drawer included. Our home of 5 can't be without those for long! Thankfully Juan C. and Jose were able to quickly track down the issue and made a quick fix. In and out! They even went above and beyond and cut out a notch in our paneling so that box couldn't be easily accessed in the even this issue happens again! Thanks Interwest Electric! Happy customer here!!! Highly recommend!

Excellent experience. I needed a NEMA 14-50 240V outlet installed in my garage. I dealt directly with Kevin to schedule the estimate. The quote was very reasonable. Sam showed up right on time and completed the job very cleanly. He even swept up where we had the outlet installed. Everyone was very friendly and professional.

Everyone we interacted with was very nice and courteous. We called to get a quote to install and electric hot water heater with a heat pump. The lady on the phone was very committed to scheduling us in and a few hours later, a plumber arrived to give us a quote.
I told the plumber we were interested in getting an electric hot water heater with a heat pump. I added that we have solar so the solar would cover any electricity we used. The plumber said, Gas is so cheap. Electricity is so expensive, you don't want to do that. Here's where my experience went downhill. By that comment, it was clear to me that the plumber didn't understand the new techology or was just trying to upsell me.
I got a quote for $4k to install a 50 gallon gas heater or $6k to install a tankless unit. Two days after the initial visit, I got an itemized breakdown of their gas heater estimate (no itemized breakout for the $6k tankless estimate). Labor for the regular gas heater was $1,800. These costs are for all materials and labor.
Anyways, as I mentioned before, everyone I spoke with was nice and friendly. I wish the plumber hadn't been so dismissive of the new techology and their prices weren't so high. I ended up getting my electric/heat pump heater installed for about $1k + the cost of the unit $800. That's correct, my total cost of $1,800 was equal to their labor installation cost.
Summary, nice people. Seemingly prices on the higher end.

Called LTE because I smelled something burning in my home. Went out to garage and found that the lights would not turn off. After a bit of investigating I finally called the first company closest to where I was staying. He responded to me within 30 min and walked me through different suggestions. Honestly, I had him going down a rabbit hole with my description and thoughts. He quickly figured out that I had a short in one of my switched and had me shut the breaker off. To some this is a no brainer. To me I would have had a three alarm fire in my home due to ignorance. LTE came out first thing in the morning, small charge and had me fixed and good to go within about 10 minutes. He was super professional and helpful. Prices are reasonable and solid work I highly recommend

Pros:
-Competitive pricing for recessed lighting among the 3-4 companies I contacted.
-Contacted me quickly with general info and offered to come out in the next few days for an estimate. I actually preferred having phone estimates (I have a full schedule), but since he offered it didn't seem like a bad idea. We talked and and I got an idea of his expertise and design opinions. After meeting I felt very comfortable and confident with hiring him to complete the project.
-Available within the week to do the job
-Available on a Saturday. Other companies either charged more for this or did not offer this at all.
-Completed the job within a half day with his colleague Carlos; they covered the floor/furniture and swept before the left.
-Results are fantastic. Like a whole new house.
-Takes credit card
-Per James, no job too small. This has been an ongoing challenge for any work I'm researching for my humble abode.
We had a little misunderstanding around including a dimmer, but he was able to get this completed on another day within the week.
Thanks James!

Wonderful experience! James came by on two occasions and installed ceiling lights for us. He also troubleshooted some outlets that were tripping. Honest guy-- he was in our home for a few hours and we felt comfortable with him and happy with his work. His rates were reasonable and will call him again in the future!

We had a recurring electrical issue at our home for several years. We had 3 electrical contractors come out to fix the issue, and none of them found the root-cause so the fix was temporary.
We called Green Electric for a diagnosis and quote, and they sent Ignacio Herrera out that same day. He found the cause of the problem that caused 1/3 of our outlets not to work, showed us the cause and explained what needed to be done to correct it permanently, along with a price (that was very reasonable). He performed the work installing 5 new GFI outlets. The cost was exactly as quoted - no extra charges. Now we can get rid of all those extension cords we had to use! Ignacio was very knowledgeable and professional. We are VERY happy customers.

Greg did a fantastic job installing our chandelier. I reached out to him after talking to other electricians who either didn't know how to connect the wiring and/or didn't have the equipment to mount a light fixture on a 22 foot ceiling. The fixture had 32 separate wires which needed to be stripped and connected in order for the light to work. Greg was able to complete the job in a day.

Once in a while you come across a contractor that is so good to work with you want to share your experience. Enter Alvarado Electric. In my recent residential electrical job I found these guys to be both cost competitive and customer focused. My job wasn't a big one but there were moving parts. Owner David Alvarado listened, understood the issues and patiently explained the options. He and his colleague were prompt, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Invoicing was transparent and easy to understand. But the best part is now at home after the sun goes down I really enjoy an improved lighting atmosphere. Thanks Alvarado Electric!

Had an issue with an exterior garage outlet that stopped working suddenly. Sent multiple requests out to Electricians for quotes. Most were overpriced and honestly gouging customers. Ramon responded quickly that he couldn't get out for over a week but offered some advise of potential easy DIY problems. After a few minutes troubleshooting he helped resolve the GFCI issue and probably saved my family $300+ dollars for a none issue. Highly advise anyone who is ethical enough to help people whether or not the get the business.

My previous 40A charger was not working. I bought a new tesla 48A charger to replace the old one, and I called several electricians for installation. One of them didn't want to do the work because he thought it would be a lot of work, and most of them didn't even answer the call.
Ed answered the call and stopped by the next day. It turns out the previous electrician used inappropriate wires and circuit breaker, and the circuit breaker was failing.
Ed replaced the old wire and the circuit breaker with newer ones that can support the higher current, and installed the new charger fairly quickly. Ed diagnosed the problem, completed the job, and cleaned up afterwards within an hour. Thanks to Ed, now I can charge my car at home worry-free.
Clearly, Ed has done this type of work numerous times, and I recommend if you need help installing a new charger for your electric vehicle.

Robert is an outstanding electrician he mounted my big screen tv and six fans he is meticulous and detailed oriented. Safety is his number one priority. He is able to work on your schedules very flexible of course you have to give them leeway also as they do a lot of jobs due to the good work that they do. pricing is fair dont forget they are licensed. One of the fans was defective he took it down repacked it for me to return after i got the replacement he came back and installed it free of charge. I am planning to have him install my ev plug in the near future. This company is growing and is a local company in chula vista we need to support our local businesses to improve our community

Eddy stopped by today and did some troubleshooting on a couple outlets at the house. Right off the bat when he arrived was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. He made things look easy. You could tell he's been doing his trade for a long time.
He didn't try to nickel and dime what so ever. If you're looking for a honest electrician with competitive prices, call Eddy.
Thanks Eddy!

Tom answered my call and provided me with a reasonable and competitive flat rate quote for installing a ceiling fan. He came out to do the work, covered all surfaces with protective plastic, wore a mask the whole time and completed the work in a few hours. I am thrilled with our fan and with the service Tom provided. Highly recommend.

In response to Larry's review: here is the exact msg I received from Larry after my initial email request explaining my issue and request for service:
Hi Jonita, It sounds like the panel may need a little troubleshooting to determine it's condition. We can do this for $68.50. As far as the extra wiring is concerned we will give you a free estimate on that and any additional wiring issues at the time of inspection. I can put you on the schedule for tomorrow between 11am - 1pm or Saturday, perhaps ? Thank you Jerry
CLD Electric619 638 0228
The above msg from Jerry CLEARLY states the trouble shooting charge to be 68.50 NOT 68.50 per 1/2 hour. That was revealed when the tech arrived. This is typically called a bait and switch.
I did not phone CLD on Saturday because 1) there office hours listed them as closed 2) I did my homework and research on what Mark told me and found he profusely exaggerated the danger and 3) was able to fix the issue myself.
Mark arrived at 11:15 and departed at 12:31. That is clearly not 1.5 hours spent diagnosing a problem. He spent more time telling me how dangerous my electrical service was than diagnosing or repairing the minor.
The handyman was likely the perpetuator of my issue (plugged in 2 old high energy spotlights without any sort of surge protector), was waaayyyyy over his head and was promptly dismissed from any further services at 12:50 pm, 19 minutes after Mark left. I have this time well documented.
Interesting, Jerry reports my initial message to him went to the wrong email box, yet, the message i sent him on Saturday 3/19/16 reporting I was disputing the charge submitted to my credit card on 3/16 (yes I was billed over a month after the service date), went to the correct location and was viewed immediately. Ummm....
Anyway, essentially scaring someone into a fairly simple repair at the cost of 340.00 is nothing short of price gouging. I went on to hire a different licensed electrician (not on yelp) who installed wiring for 3 smoke detectors, 2 ceiling fans,1 overhead light (I supplied the materials) for a total of $350.00 (5.5 hours of work).
