I needed to have an outlet installed and exhaust fans replaced in two bathrooms. Jeff responded to me immediately and was able to come to fix the issues the next day (Sunday). He did the job in two hours and did an excellent job. Price was fair too. Thanks Jeff!

I learned a good Life Lesson today - read and FOLLOW the instructions!  

For the past week I've been trying to get a Lights of America light-sensor activated porch light to work with no luck.  I was replacing one that went bad, and bought the same model.  The first replacement I received and hooked up (only 2 wires how hard could it be) and turned it on.  Of course it didn't work because it was light outside, so I put my finger in front of the light sensor and it still didn't turn on.  So after about an hour of trying to fix the problem, switch wire connections, etc I sent it back to Amazon and ordered another one thinking this one was defective.

Today I got the second replacement and hooked the two wires up - black to black and white to white.  Flip the switch, put my finger over the sensor, and NOTHING!  Baffled, I got my battery tester (I don't have an actual electricity tester) and tested the lines from the house to socket, I got activity on the meter, so I figured it wasn't bad wiring from the house since there was electricity making it out to the fixture.  But for some reason I couldn't get it to turn on my new light!  Frustrated, I called Core and the owner Craig said he didn't have any pressing appointments until later, and was able to come out in about 45 minutes.  He came out commented how close it was, he only lives 5 miles away.

Now Craig is an interesting guy - cool, calm, hustler.  I kind of dig his weird sense of humor.  He told me it would be $135 troubleshooting fee.  For the risk, time to drive (5 minutes!), etc.  He nearly gave me a heart attack!  I thought he'd charge me $20-40 for a 10 minute job, but no.  After a long haggle, he dropped the price to $95, giving me a neighborly discount.  After a couple minutes, he cut back and restripped the two wires coming out of the wall/fixture (oxidized wires - corrected was the description in the invoice).  He attached these to the new porch light, mounted it, put a piece of tape over the light sensor, and turned on the switch.  Lo and behold it worked!  Job done.  Craig proceeded to clean up.  He offered to check my wall switch and breaker box to make sure things were in tip top shape, and also because I'm sure he knew how easy the job was he just did.  Craig did mention that there was some burning around the porch fixture, and it was probably due to bad contacts between the wires.

After he tightened 4 screws in the light switch on the wall, he opened the breaker panel outside and tightened about 6 more screws (panel tune-up listed on the invoice), I paid him, thanked him and he left.  

I proceed to put my finger over the light sensor on the porch light and it didn't work.  Oh no!! I thought.  I took it apart and made sure all the connections were still intact.  Everything looked good.  So I decided to put a piece of black tape over the sensor - to my amazement, the light turned on!!!!  So using my finger to block the sensor didn't work, but a piece of tape did?  None of these fixtures were defective after all, I just needed to tape over the sensor to confirm they worked - just like the instructions said!!!

So yes Craig was able to get my light to work, when I wasn't.  The job consisted of stripping two 16 gauge wires, connecting them to the fixture with twist-on connectors, and he charged me $95 to do that!  I learned that I could have avoided all the time and money if I had just followed the instructions.  

Craig seems like a good guy, kinda bad jokes, but I'm kind of bummed that I got charged so much to do so little.

I called Jimmy with Spark it Up Electric and he was very responsive and helpful! He was able to come by that day to check out my faulty outlet and fixed it on the spot!  He is fast and efficient and I felt safe with him in my home. I also had him install a ceiling fan, which is awesome! Great priced and reliable too! I would definitely hire him again!!!

Mark was wonderful. He trouble-shot and then fixed a vexing electrical problem with our motorhome in short order, and then walked us thru how our electrical system works so we would understand it better and hopefully not harm it again in the future. We were impressed by both his knowledge (vast) and his people skills. We'd give him 6 stars if we could.

Wow!!! Called him late Friday to install a 50 amp plug for my trailer at my house and he was out there quickly to install it. the install looks natural to the house and left no mess behind. Thank you very much and will definitely refer you to all my friends and family!!!

I had a slight gas leak coming from the garage. It turned out to be an old valve for the gas dryer. As a rookie home owner, I was cringing at the thought of possibly getting some sleezy plummer so I came to yelp to get a better consensus of what others thought.

I dont remember who I spoke with on the phone, but she was pleasant, hear the issue and was upfront about hourly rates and when to expect the plummer. mind you this was on a Saturday so I paid a little more which I was told up front.
Joel (plummer) came over, checked it out, replaced our valve and connected our dryer in a snap. He was friendly and we even told him about some issues with our HVAC. Although he was not an HVAC tech, he did go up into the attic to make sure there was no gas leaking up there either.

I will for sure be using them again for other services when needed.

We needed several outlets updated in our house and Brilliant Electric did a great job. Alfredo, Oscar, and Jose were very professional and courteous. They showed up on time at the initial estimate and the day work started. Our house was built in the '40's, so they were very thorough in figuring out what needed to to go where. I have confidence that the job was done right and will recommend them to family and friends.

Zed Electric was great! Dave answered immediately and walked me through every part of our home inspection on the phone, prior to the visit. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the fixes and scheduled a time to come out for a free estimate. Matt was early, very thorough and also took the time to walk me through the house and point out each part of the home inspection. Would highly recommend!

Daniel of All Pro Electric was responsive and competent. His cost was reasonable and he did the job on a timely basis.  He diagnosed our outdoor electric issue quickly and implemented the repair competently and efficiently. We are pleased with All Pro's service and are planning a further project with him.

Needed to replace my tub faucet, he came out after hours to fix it.

These guys were great - after trying to talk through a possible solution over the phone, they found time between appointments to come over and resolve a relatively minor issue with our outlets. They were friendly and efficient, no surprises, and even stayed a few extra minutes to fix an outlet box that wasn't quite deep enough in the wall and previously left the plate hanging out a few millimeters. Always hoping we won't have to call the pros again, but if the need arises, I'll call these guys for sure.

I hired Kelly to do a job on my behalf and after accepting she notified us it was on the understanding that she couldn't get to the repair for three weeks which we understood and accepted.  Two days prior to the agreed upon date she cancels saying I don't do repairs in this area.  To me this just talks to the lack of thoroughness of how she does things.  We specifically talked to her about the job and its location, now she decides she doesn't want to go where the job is and cancels. She has left us high and dry searching for a new repair person.  Kelly's business practices are very poor and for this reason I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Rick and his team are the best! They have worked on so many projects for us now and we wouldn't use anyone else. They are honest, reliable, fair, and just all around great guys. They do the best work as well. Thanks so much guys!

My lights inside my house were freaking out from time to time, I ignored.  Blink of an eye power outages occurred inside the house, I ignored.  The electrical components of my washer fried, I ignored.  However, the last straw was when the power going out when I pressed power on my new washer.  I called the electrician and he came out, same day. It turned out the panel outside got corroded due to the salty air.  These guys were quick to provide a temporary fix and were awesome at coming out for a full panel replacement.  Prompt work, clean work, cool guys... can't complain.

Gerardo was on time and his fee was very reasonable - about 1/4 less than another electrician we called for our ceiling fan installation.  He is courteous and genuinely friendly.  He's a first-rate guy who does a great job!
