Diamondback Locksmith

I live in OH (can't find Columbus Locksmith Pros on Yelp!) and called to set an appt for a tech to come out to re-key 2 deadbolts and install one new deadbolt on a door that currently has no lock whatsoever. Scheduled same-day Saturday service with no weekend up-charge. The guy that answered the phone was so helpful and volunteered quotes, which is more than I can say for some of the other places that refused to even discuss prices over the phone!

The tech called me within 5 minutes and scheduled the time to come out. Let me start out by saying that I've dealt with other locksmiths on at least 2 other occasions throughout the years - once to re-key a new home, and another time when I locked myself out of the house. They weren't exactly the friendliest guys and cost me a fortune!

I needed this work done immediately for a security situation, but needed to be price conscious. Joey knew this and we discussed options. He worked with me on pricing and was extremely friendly. The two deadbolts that needed re-keyed were too old, so he installed brand new locks for me and worked with me there as well. I have four little dogs at my house that were barking at him basically the entire time and wanting to play, and he was so sweet and gentle with them. I can't believe he didn't get annoyed AT ALL. I was getting irritated with the barking, and they're MY dogs! (I should note that they're normally not like that, but they REALLY seemed to like Joey!)

I was pleasantly surprised how quickly he got the job done, especially considering he had to drill the door to install a new deadbolt. I really appreciated his punctuality, efficiency, the fact that he really seemed to care about saving me money, and just the fact that he was an all-around really nice guy!

I'll be buying a new home sometime soon, and I'll definitely be calling Columbus Locksmith Pros again to re-key those locks, but only if they send Joey!

They got me in my house but to charge $200 for 10 minutes work seems excessive. The website said house lock outs cost between $60-$100. Not what I was charged. They sent a different company out and I didn't even know they were doing that. Be aware they get ya when you're desperate.

They came and helped me in my time of need. We'e super friendly in a stressful time and knew what they were doing! CJ got the job done and I'm grateful! #CJLockWhisperer

Horrible. We lost our Prius keys and called Diamondback Lock and Key. The dispatch said the cost will be at around $150. I thought it was a great deal since other places were quoting me around $300.

I fully explained with dispatch that we need a new key made and told them our car's model year and we needed the smart key that unlocks the door when you are close to the car. This is enough information to give us a detailed quote. They never clarified that was the $150 quote was a base price.

When the locksmith showed up, he quoted me $100 OVER the Toyota car dealership - almost $400! I was frustrated because that was a large jump from the $150 quote. The dealership quote was around $325.

He said that a new key itself costs $150. After a bit of haggling he was able to do the job a few dollars lower than the dealership price. And said it would take about 45 minutes.....

FIVE HOURS later and after calling for help, he was only able to program the FOB to start the car and created a metal key to unlock and lock the car. He said we will come back tomorrow and we agreed that I pay $200.

I was ok with all of this because it was getting the work done and getting late. I did question him why something like this would take so long. He said each car is different even though he has the Toyota software.

At this point, it was dark and since the I could get into and start the car I was fine with him coming tomorrow to finish the work.

When I got back home, I took a look at the FOB and I got ANGRY along with the issues below after I drove the car:

1. He triggered the after market alarm that is now always blinking blue and needs to be taken to a dealer to get that fixed.

2. The FOB was NOT NEW. It was a used banged up FOB. (I was furious about this! Since he gave me grief how a new FOB is $150 and we paid close to the dealer's quote to get this job done

3. The headlights and backlights sometimes works. We think he shorted the circuits, thus why the car alarm is now blinking blue and now this issue.

4. He bent the car's door so badly that it sounds like the door is open when you drive. You can hear the road and gravel. For a locksmith that shows a poor set of skills that you cannot open a Prius without bending the door's frame. Seems like amature hour.

Because of this company we had to:

1. Take it to the Toyota dealer who said the FOB was an old one and NOT the right model for this car.

2. The dealership said we can bend back the door and see if it that helps. Thankfully it did.

3. We will need to take the car to a car alarm dealer to fix the blinking blue light.

4. And we still need to figure out about the back lights and headlights.

We called the company TWICE asking to speak to the owner. He never called back. I wonder why????

They jacked up our car and I hold them responsible for:

1. The time we lost in taking it to the dealer to get it fixed
2. Selling us a USED and the WRONG FOB for the car
3. Not returning our phone calls
4. Screwing up the circuits which may cost a significant amount to fix which they should pay for.

We filed a chargeback with the credit card company and will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Stay away from this company. They cannot own up to their mistakes.

I had an employee issue and had to let someone go. Therefore, changing the locks in all my businesses was critical. Jack the owner told me he would make sure all locks would be changed and he could cut a master key for me for all my businesses and give employees separate keys.

He and his crew are awesome!!!  He had ideas to make everything better and followed through with everything at a reasonable price.

Don't hesitate to use them as they are awesome.

Just met CJ and he is an absolute rock star. My friend not only "locked his keys in his trunk", he also didn't actually lock his keys in his trunk. They were actually locked in the swim shorts he was wearing.

Now the less, CJ showed up and helped us get into the trunk to realize this and was an awesome dude about it.

They were quick and well priced. Props

Locked my keys in my car again so I called Diamondback Lock and Key. Jack was out in 15 minutes. Saved my day!!! I was able to get to my meetings with no problems. Call these guys if you get locked out or need a house rekey.

Lost my only set of keys and this company immediately sent someone within 25 minutes of confirmation to unlock, get a new key, with a clicker as well as a valet key! They are friendly and professional! The person who helped me name was Aron!! Wonderful service. Quick, easy, and honest business! Being someone who can never keep track of their keys, Aron and Diamondback Lock and Key are definitely first choice for convenience and price!!

These guys were fantastic to work with!  Arrived on time and very thorough with their work. Had 4 locks re-keyed and will recommend them to my friends and family.

I would definitely recommend this company. I called, had all licks on doors re keyed within 24 hours. Price was fair, competitive, but excellent service
