Best Electric Furnace Installation in Washington DC

Shon arrived promptly, checked my old garbage disposal, then replaced it with a new, quieter, more capable one with a longer warranty that I had researched online.  Very happy with his cleanliness and his work plus he gave me my military discount that I hadn't been aware of!  I'll have Reddick and Sons back next week to install wiring and hang a ceiling fan.

Responded with sense of urgency to my quote request to replace my water source heat pump in my condo that had a leaking coil. They also found a Carrier unit to install and scheduled the installation the next day so that I did not have to wait.

They arrived on time for the installation with multiple crew members. The first guy came to start the demolition of the old unit, the next trio came to finish the installation.

They did a great job in installation and making sure it all functioned properly.

The job took about six hours in total. It would've taken probably closer to four if they had not been delayed in procuring the Carrier unit, which was out of their control.

I recently purchased my first house, and since then have dealt with SO MANY CONTRACTORS (tree guys, electrician, floor guys, handymen, etc etc etc). I carefully researched and got recommendations for each of them. Clover was my absolute favorite of the bunch. Absolutely everyone I dealt with was friendly and responsive and helpful. They came on time, I learned a bunch, and my system works much better now. Thanks!!!

Horrible, that they refuse to service long time customer who was honest enough to share that they HAD tested for positive for COVID-19 in the past. But was well out of any CDC quarantine limits. They stated that they need to See a negative test before they will service.  So are they providing customers with their Negative test results prior to entering homes...NO. So much for being honest. They stated that they had never had anyone answer that question with a YES...seriously

Cardinal is the best....THE BEST!!! We had Barry Baker come out to our home and he explained everything to me twice!!! He was so thorough and professional and made me feel so taken care of that I signed up for the routine maintenance package on the spot knowing he will be the one to keep coming out! He was able to fix my ac and it's running great ever since! Thank you Barry!!!! You were a money life saver!!!!!

I called Plump Right Plumbing later in the day, i thought they wouldn't come over until the next day. Brent came by immediately and stayed until the job was complete.
Since I'm giving up DIY plumbing Plumb Right will be my first call.

I asked of a quote for gasket replacement. I was also given a suggestion to use vinegar and clean gasket seal. It worked. Just a little extra cleaning goes a long way. I though I needed a replacement. No such thing.

My heater works now and he also showed us what as wrong with it and how we could prevent/fix the problem.  He didn't try to upsell us or take advantage of the situation.  I really appreciate his honesty and business.  I will definitely use his company and will refer him to others as well.

Great service. Friendly, and helpful repair man. Our air conditioning unit was not functioning properly, and they sent a repairman the day we called. His name was Jason Y. and he was very thorough and he fixed the issue in a short amount of time with no hassle. I highly recommend this company to anyone who seeks an a/c repair or replacement.

I am in a new home that uses a well and a whole house water filter, all of which I'm unfamiliar with, and the casings are stuck, so i cannot change the filter. Rather than risking to break something I hire these guys as their flat rate is very reasonable. The water main piping was not standard but we were able to troubleshoot and avoid a high expense. These guys were thorough to look for any remaining drips and to clean up the work site when done, (and wore shoe covers walking in). Very agreeable to work with, for reasonable rate.

If I could give zero stars I would. The after-hours technician was rude, disrespectful and condescending. Unfortunately I did not get his name.
At 10:15 pm on the night before the recent snowstorm (1-5-15), my furnace broke down. As a single woman with an elderly tenant, I was concerned about the freezing temps and getting through the cold night. I called Bowman's and spoke to the after- hours technician. He asked me what my furnace was doing and I explained that the motor was working, but there was no ignition and no heat. He told me what the charges would be if he came out that night vs the next morning and asked me what I wanted to do. In an effort to make an informed decision, I started to tell him what the diagnostic flashing light on the furnace was saying and ask about the availability of parts if he came out that night, but he immediately cut me off. He very rudely informed me that he just needed to know if I wanted him to come out that night or not. He said he had to get up at 5:30 a.m. and he wasn't going to have a discussion or conversation with me. He said, This isn't a social call. Just tell me if you want me to come out there tonight or in the morning. I politely informed him that I would be calling another company.
I felt very disrespected in an already stressful situation. I could understand if I was droning on and on, but the entire conversation lasted exactly 1.26 minutes. This is certainly not the kind of service that Mr. Bowman would expect of his employees. Is it?

On a Sunday, my air conditioner totally failed. I called several companies that were supposed to provide 7-day service but either they didn't answer or they answered but were too busy.

Otech answered on Sunday morning and was at my house within 2 hours. There were 3 different problems with the A/C. He was able to fix 2 of them very quickly, but the 3rd required a replacement part, and the supplier wasn't open on Sunday.

He came back to my house on Monday morning with the replacement part and had it fixed within 20 minutes. He stayed and tested the system thoroughly to make sure nothing else is wrong with it.

He didn't charge any extra for the weekend service and didn't charge anything for the labor on the repairs that he did on Monday.

I would highly recommend him for any HVAC service as he's very reliable, fast, and cost effective.

Requested services from Sila for my furnace that quit suddenly in the morning. The technician came within hours of me scheduling an appointment, but he communicated quite unprofessionally (1st red flag). The technician identified the induction fan to be the problem and said it needed to be replaced, and that was the extend of the troubleshooting.

He excused himself to produce a quote and came back with an estimate of $1,270 for the repair (2nd red flag) or $1,200 for the repair and scheduled maintenance. There was no breakdown on parts, labor, or maintenance fees at all, just a total amount (3rd red flag) even though I asked for a breakdown of the quote. Needless to say, I opted out of both options and paid $98 for the call.

I took it upon myself to inspect the induction fan since I found it difficult to believe a 5-year-old fan would cease. I tried spinning the fan clockwise, but it would not turn. However, when I tried to spin it counterclockwise, the motor spun, albeit with a bit of a tension.  

I removed the induction fan and found a bird was the obstruction (starlight bird if you must know). Then, I tested the motor and found it was within the range of operating ohms when I tested with a multimeter.  I removed the bird, mounted the same induction fan for which I was quoted $1,200, and my furnace worked perfectly, like new...which it basically is.

Long story short, I did not need an induction fan, and $1,200 was clearly a scam and a rip-off.

I do not recommend this company to anyone, friends or enemies. Stay clear, you've been warned.

Wow! What great service and terrific communication from every member of the team. I had a tricky issue, was on an urgent schedule due to travel, it took two visits, but all's well. Thanks so much for being super professional. I know we'll be calling you again!

I chose this service per the many superior ratings (and a neighbor) here as well as other sites but my experience with Snell was marginal at best.
Due to my allergies, I request Snell to replace the returns, supplies, and duct work for my upstairs system with the theory that this would minimize the dust within my system.
Justin provided an estimate of service but later informed his manager that he told me that they cold not do the totality of work to be accomplished which caused a dispute for which they later honored as I had a contract which supported my argument.
Next, Snell (per Justin's measurements) ordered the wrong size part which caused a delay.
During install, a Snell worker actually lost his footing and came through my bathroom ceiling (that God he was not injured) which they had to repair/paint.
I know you all think at this point think that this must be a joke but trust me, these are facts.
Next, I required follow-up after the initial installation which found another item which required repair and to my surprise, to date,  no one from the company has followed-up despite my calling the office and my primary point of contact.
This in turn led me to another company (Thanks A1) which flawlessly addressed my issues.  Please note, I am not an angry nor disgruntled customer but my project just seemed like a comedy of errors from beginning to end.
I am highly disappointed with the lack of professionalism as I expected better.

If you want a plumbing nightmare...

I called in to have my kitchen faucet replaced by Jiffy Plumbing.  A technician came in.  I was not able to wait for him to finish the job because he had arrived so many hours after the promised appointment time. When I went home that night, I found out that the faucet had extremely low water pressure and that its sprinkler did not work properly (in this type of common faucet, water is supposed to run from the only sprinkler when the sprinkler is turned on, but in this case water kept running from the faucet and the sprinkler).  

I called Jiffy again, a new technician came who found out that the faucet installed was indeed faulty and that this problem had gone unnoticed by the previous technician.  He left because he did not have the right faucet to replace.  I called Jiffy and set up a new appointment. Yet by 5:30 pm the day of the next appointment, no one had shown up for what would have been a morning appointment.  I called Jiffy's dispatcher  throughout the day, but they were not responsive. No one from Jiffy called that to let me know what went wrong or apologize for not showing up.

I finally got a faucet properly installed two days later, over a week of back and forth, AND 4 appointments, including one in which Jiffy never showed up.

If you want a plumbing nightmare, call them.

I had a leaking pipe leading into my house, requiring a fairly extensive and complex fix.  Dave and gang accurately diagnosed the problem, dug up my yard, threaded the new pipe, and then put everything back in order.  I barely lost a shrub, and they kept everything scrupulously clean.  They arranged everything with the DC inspectors too. I believe at some point they encountered some problems that were going to make the project more extensive and expensive, but they were able to work around this and kept to the original budget.  Everything was on time, and just as promised.

Took 4 visits to correctly diagnose and repair the problem with my AC unit. First technician that was sent seemed inexperienced and more concerned with selling additional services than fixing the problem. Technicians arrived late in appointment windows. Supervisors were not very responsive.Would not recommend.

***make that 5 visits. Found a problem after the tech. left that required another visit and more of my time.

We have had a contract with Magnolia's HVAC division for more than 10 years.  If the installers of our system had been as personable, professional, and responsive as Allen and Troy, we would not have gotten to know these gentlemen quite so well.  As it is, we look forward to their visit in the spring (a.c.) or fall (heat) and to their honest assessment of a situation that needs to be corrected (or not).  I agree with the reviewer who mentioned the overpriced HVAC parts-- but Allen and Troy were a reason to keep coming back to Magnolia and we will miss them when we sell our house.  They are top notch.
