Best Electricians in Houston, TX

Veteran Electric Electrician
Marcus with Veteran Electric was fantastic and would highly recommend. He was on time, walked us through multiple steps of what he was doing, and wanted us to save money where we could. He answered all of our questions and even explained what tools to buy so we could work through smaller tasks next time. Will use Veteran Electric again for our electricity needs.

Bakenhus Electric Electrician
He came out early the week of December 27th to take a look at the job.  We needed to move a pool timer, sprinkler timer, and the creation of an outdoor outlet. While there, he noted that the existing wiring was poorly done, so he recommended they be rewired.  We decided to add power for four sconces, a ceiling fan, and a dedicated outlet for an a/c unit.  Even though his schedule was really booked up, he arranged to come back later that week to do the work, so as not to hold up my larger construction schedule.  Sure enough, as promised, he was there bright and early on Friday morning and was done with the work by early afternoon.  While there, we chatted about some outdoor lighting I'm interested in having installed, so we'll definitely have him back to install those as well.  He is sweet, hardworking, and well-priced.

Ace Electrical Services Electrician
Ace electrical services came out and installed our new high bay lighting for our detail shop. They scheduled us next day which was great because we were on a deadline with a few of our clients. Came out and installed job from start to finish in one day and now we have triple the lighting we did before. Our detail bay was left clean, organized and well-lit. They didn't leave one piece of trash or garbage anywhere. We will be using them for our future projects.

Brotherly Love Electric Electrician
We decided to look into a whole house generator and called three companies for estimates. One was a large Generac supplier, another a Generac and Kohler supplier and third was Brotherly Love Electric who installs generators and recommended we consider the Briggs and Stratton generator.

The estimates were reasonably close in price on a comparable capacity basis. The Generac suppliers estimated it would take 17-26 weeks to complete installations due to a shortage of generators. This compared to a no later than 14 weeks installation for the Briggs and Stratton generator. Hurricane season was approaching so the timing was important to us.

Generac offers a 3 year warranty and Briggs and Stratton a 5 year warranty. The Briggs and Stratton's Fortress model is an upgrade with a 10 year warranty and cost an additional $1000. The Brotherly Love Electric representative mentioned that the Fortress models can arrive faster.

So we went with the Brotherly Love Electric proposal for the Fortress model because:
1. It was competitively priced with the others,
2. Had a potentially faster installation time,
3. Offered a longer warranty period,
4. Provided the option to extend the warranty to 10 years with the Fortress model,
5. Also, Generac is switching from a Mitsubishi engine to their own and we didn't want to be the experiment with their new engine.

Fellow Yelper Gina also provided a very positive review of Brotherly Love so we hired them to install the Fortress model Briggs and Stratton whole house generator.

A nice surprise is our generator was installed in 4 weeks!

Nathan the owner, his partner Daniel, and JP of Brotherly Love Electric were all a pleasure to work with and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them.

Beekman Electric Electrician
Our company is new to the area and we were looking for a go to Electrical company that could service our needs now and the future.  Beekman scheduled a walk through and got us on the schedule the same day.  Work completed and very happy with their service and professionalism.  Will use them again in the future.

T&Z All Services Electrician
Needed an electrician for a simple repair, scheduled an appointment and the electrician never showed up. When I called the main office, they told me the electrician was looking at his calendar for the wrong day. OK - I understand stuff happens. I scheduled for later that week, and at the scheduled time, no one shows up. I called the office, this time they said they had no record of an appointment. That's unacceptable.  Standing me up twice - I will never use this company, and would absolutely not recommend it to anyone. If you can't count on someone to even show up for an appointment, how could you trust the work that they do?

A Pro Master Electric Electrician
Otis and his crew were the only ones out if six local electricians to call me back. They not only were able to get me in the next day, but they arrived ahead of schedule. Otis kept me updated on the price during the process and always thoroughly explained what the issues were. We will 100% call him again and thoroughly recommend him and his crew!

Grounded Electrician
I was having some issues with some electrical outlets & switches.  As a new homeowner with no prior history of hiring an electrician decided to reach out to Grounded to see if they would be able to help fix my electrical issues.  Pete and his partner Nick weren't just on time for my scheduled appointment, they were 15 min. EARLY!  Both were extremely professional and knowledgeable.  They diagnosed my problems rather quickly and remedied the situation just as fast.  However the most impactful thing their service provided to me was not the 5 out of 5 star job they provided to me on this day but for the stress I will no longer have for any future electrical issues because now I know exactly who to call, Grounded!

Harmony Electric Co Electrician
I'll start by saying I had a terrible experience and would not recommend Harmony Electric to any of my friends or colleagues.

1) The electrician gave me an hour advance notice call and arrived an hour and 45 minutes later.
2) I was given the company's hourly rate but was not notified that it was a flat rate with a one hour minimum (no prorating). The work performed by the electrician took 30 minutes and when it came time to pay, we called the company's office to provide our credit card number. This is when we were notified that although the work only took 30 minutes that they will be charging me for the full hourly rate. When I tried to explain to the company that this was not previously explained to me, the lady representative (Laura) began raising her voice and yelling at me (talk about poor customer service). She flat out called me a liar (again, poor customer service) and said that the company fully explained to me their hourly rate policy prior to performing their services (which they did not and was the reason I was surprised in the first place). Reluctantly, I had my girlfriend call the company and pay them over the phone.
3) When my girlfriend called to pay, she (girlfriend) also tried to get an explanation of why we were being charged for a full hour's work when the electrician only took half an hour. The representative of the company (which repeatedly kept saying she was the owner's wife) also began yelling at my girlfriend (for a third time, poor customer service) telling her that things were explained to us beforehand.

We ended up paying the full rate partly out of frustration and partly due to the yelling of the company's representative. I'd also like to mention that the company's findings were to call the energy company. It seemed very unreasonable to pay full rate for 1) half an hours worth of work and 2) to get a call the energy company answer.

I would never EVER recommend this company to anyone.

10/30/17 UPDATE:

Response to my review from the Company:

Comment from Laura V. of Harmony Electric Co
Business Owner
10/30/2017  Dear Andrew,
Every customer is advised of our hourly rate and that the only time we can guarantee arrival time is first call in the morning.  We cannot pay an employee to sit and wait for you to come home. I don't raise my voice or call people liars and I don't tell people I  am the owner's wife because I am the owner.  I will defend employees that I know are honorable if you falsely accuse them. Most service companies have a service rate and I'm sorry you didn't understand that.  You did not pay the full rate as we gave you a discount to try to make you happy because you didn't understand the service rate.  Our technician called  you to inform you he was on his way but there was no answer, so he went to the next call and called you again when he was free to attempt to service you again.  We found that the problem was a power company issue and advised you to call them.  That saved you a lot of money.  I'm sorry if you were unhappy with our attempt to service you.

My response to above:

1. I had someone at my residence the entire time. Your employee did not wait one second for someone to arrive at my residence.
2. You indeed did raise your voice and did indeed call me a liar.
3. I did not falsely accuse your employees of anything
4. I do understand that service companies have a service rate. I think what you do not understand is that it was not clearly communicated to me. You're starting to sound very condescending like you did when we initially interacted on the phone.
5. Your technician called me to tell me he was running late because he didn't have his GPS to input my address. There was no instance in which he called and I did not answer my phone. Again, sounds like you're making stuff up to CYA.
6. My only regret is not having our call recorded so that everyone can listen to the way you talk to your clients and potential clients. After reading all the reviews of your service company, it appears that all those with unfavorable reviews have the same thing in common: lack of communication on behalf of your company and lack of respect by you/your representatives to customers. I would not go out of my way to post this unfavorable update review but I will not tolerate a false statement posted by you/your company in response to my initial review.

Abacus Plumbing Air Conditioning & Electrical Electrician
Called this company based on the reviews they have received in the past.  When I called I was informed that there would be an emergency call out fee of150.00, which I agreed to.  Tech showed up at 1:30 am and checked a few things and determined that a thermostat was needed.  Installed thermostat and unit powered on.  Tech never checked to see if unit was actually blowing cold air.  At 3:12 am temp was 84 and by 6:43 it was up to 91.  I called the company back at 3::15am and was informed they would not come back out at this time even though I had already paid their emergency fee.  Further stated that they would put me on a work list for 9 am.  When I called back at 9:00am I was informed that someone would be back out here to my residence between 9am and 6pm.  At 6:00pm I called Abacus once again to inquire as when someone would be here.  Was told the tech will call you 30-45 min prior to arrival .   I don't understand why I was charged the emergency fee of 150.00 and my unit has yet to be functioning.  This is not the way to keep customers. This company will not get any recommendations from myself to be used in the future.  I have also asked for management to reach out to me to discuss this situation. Time will tell if anything or anyone contacts me.
