Best Electricians in Houston, TX
Yelp's localization does a disservice to contractors since the best of the best probably don't live in your immediate neighborhood.
John Henshaw and his crew qualify as the best of the best. Plus, he's a master electrician. (see tiny.cc/jhenshaw)
Now, let's be honest, We all want the most for our pennies and we may think that hiring a handyman to install simple things like fans make economic sense. Think again. Hiring a licensed electrician is not that much more (Last i checked Henshaw Electric charged $150 per fan; the half-wit handyman I hired through craigslist charged $100 per fan. SInce I had to get Henshaw to re-hang said fan it actually cost me $250), He also grounded all the plugs in & around my computer and installed a surge suppressor in the electric box to safeguard all my stuff.
And yes, a licensed guy will charge a few bucks more but they are worth every penny. I can sleep at night knowing my fan or stove or whatever isn't going to burst into flames.

I've hired Ramon Umana twice since we went into contract for our new home. He's dependable, professional, and courteous. He emails to set up appointments too. Ramon has rewired a number of outlets in my home, installed new lighting, and repaired faulty work done by another electrician. I recommend him!

Double Diamond was a pleasure to deal with. Billie Vaughn does top notch work and I will use him anytime I get the opportunity. Highly recommended.

Pool Lights had gone out...Called J and L..told me it would be 10 days before they got to me. Called me the next day and told me someone could come out now. They fixed the lights, were very pleasant to deal with, fair with pricing, and fixed a few other minor problems with no charge. Great job!

Professional and knowledgable electrician, reasonable prices, highly recommend! He replied in a timely manner to my yelp request for a quote, was flexible with appointment set up, confirmed with me the day of appointment - basically great communication throughout. He fixed all my electrical issues, answered all the questions and was very helpful overall. Great professional service. Would definitely hire him again!

I have used Rubio Electric many times and consistently gotten great customer service. It's run very professionally. I always get a quick callback from the owner, Justin, and he always gets over to help quickly. He is polite, follows up to make sure everything is ok, cleans up, sends a clear, professional invoice, and has never failed to do anything but excellent work. I recently needed some work and not only did he promise a start time, I got a confirmation phone call and text confirming it. This time two of his employees came. They confirmed their arrival, were polite, clean, extra helpful, gave me additional clear instructions for what I needed to do, and were very nice and friendly - and professional - to deal with. If only more contractors could do the same. Justin and his team installed Ring devices (some walls had to be opened up), and did other interior work. I will always use and recommend them in the future.

Shane was great and really worked within my budget. I had his guys add some outdoor electrical outlets, fans, and more. They Ensured it was water tight, used good materials and followed code. I appreciate the hard work his guys did, they were here until 8:30PM to ensure they completed the job, and did it right! I'll be using Murphy's electric again.

I dealt with Ralph at REM electric and was so impressed with his customer service. Highly recommend Ralph and REM electric for their expertise, professionalism and ETHICAL approach to business. They helped us with our back up generator. VERY REASONABLE. I made the mistake of calling 2 other electricians, before I finally found REM. Learn from my mistake.

Christmas Day, a few months after Hurricane Harvey my wife reported we had standing water on top of the septic tank lid. The septic company said the lift pump wasn't working because the GFI outlet had been underwater during the hurricane. I called Matt at Outlet Electric based on the previous review on Yelp, first company I spoke to also. I told him I wasn't in a hurry to get the plug replaced but needed him to come take care of it some time. He volunteered to come out right away if I really needed it. I said no and booked an appointment later. His guys were timely, very nice, extremely professional and got the job done quickly. I received an email invoice that was very fair for the work done and the travel time required to get to my house. I like to work with local people, these guys are local to me. My impression was that these guys know what they are doing and are professional. I would highly recommend their services!!! They just seem to be good regular people trying to do a professional job at a fair price.

When purchasing our home we were informed that the electrical panel needed to be replaced. We were not happy about this and had no clue where to look for a trusted electrician. Luckily a close friend had worked with Thuan Nguyen on several home jobs and told us to contact him. Thuan was super cool, he came out to the house, checked things out, then gave us a few options of what to do next. He upgraded our electrical panel and replaced a few bad outdoor plugs.
He did a great job and was very knowledgeable of what he was doing, he def made me feel more comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation...I would recommend thuan to anyone needing an electrician

Fast, affordable and excellent work. This company called back in a timely manner and came out same day for an estimate. They completed all the work they said they would and even went above and beyond. I would
Highly recommend this company and it's employees for any electrical work.

Stay away from this company - Universal Home Experts
We used Universal Home Experts for our yearly AC checkup, and this year, after they performed our spring checkup, they confirmed all system is functioning well (Our AC unit is only 4 years old).
Then in about 3 weeks, with the weather getting hot, we noticed the 2nd floor AC was not cooling. We called a different AC company to check for us since it is 7pm at night and we know that company works late hours. When the technician arrived and checked our system, he came to me and ask if I have some other company touched the system before, I said yes, we had a spring checkup. Then the technician told us that during the spring checkup, there are two wires in the capacitor that they forgot to re-connect back after checking, and that had led to the complete failure of my compressor. The technician suggested us to contact that company since it was their fault and they should replace it for us.
We called Universal Home Experts the next morning, they sent a service manager that afternoon. At first, the service manager still refuse to admit it is their faulty, and the only reason they gave was they have faith in their staff that they wouldn't make such a mistake. So I requested to talk to the manager, Ed, after a long debate back and forth, they finally admit that it was their fault and agreed to replace my compressor for free.
In a few days, I even got a phone call from them telling me the parts were arriving and the installation was scheduled for last Thursday. I thought everything finally worked out.
NO.
On Thursday, I waited at home for them to come. No one showed up. I called them and the front desk said they know nothing about my case and the manager would call me back. Waited the whole day, called a few times, and every time the manager was in a meeting and would call me soon. No. Waited the next day, still no one call me.
Today, I had my husband called them, and finally, the manager sent me an email, saying they have determined that it was not their responsibility (without giving any supporting reason/evidence). And they will not replace my compressor. At this point, we have live without our AC for over 2 weeks.
We picked them originally due to they have good reviews on Google, and now, they totally ruined our trust. Please stay away from this company, they do AC/electrical/plumbing. A company without integrity is not worth any future business.

There are several locations, so I can't say which one because I'm not sure...but I want to thank Baron for his awesome professionalism when he came out to my home. He was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of things to me. Although my current issue couldn't be solved by him, he pointed me into the right direction, proper steps, and I feel safe and positive about this. He even came to my door with his own shoe covers, although I had some waiting for him. This really impressed me. Thank you Baron, at Mister Sparky Electrical...Happy Holidays!!!

I wish there was an option to give no stars because totally disgusted is more my sentiments.
We know a commercial electrician and went with Heights Electric because we trusted our commercial electrician's recommendation. We should have headed the poor review here when we read it but we thought we'd give Charlie and his team the benefit of the doubt especially because they are a local business. Here's my advice to others: DO NOT HIRE HEIGHTS ELECTRIC.
His workmen were definitely polite and capable. They did a great job at not tearing up our home. However, the billing was underhanded and shifty.
1. They arrived later than discussed. No phone call, just arrived late.
2. 2 workers, 1 who does all of the work and the other that runs to the truck and back.
3. Charlie charged for his own showing up and standing around.
4. We were charged an hour for the Free quote when it was their doing that they came in and took the old fixture down to see what they might be dealing with.
5. We were quoted a price range and ended up having to negotiate above the highest end of the range. Charlie claims it was because the job turned out to be harder than expected and they were working late hours and we were actually getting a discount. (may I remind you, they showed up late and the timing was understood when we were quoted)
6. If the job was harder/was going to cost more, that should have been stated when they realized this. Several times we asked if everything was alright and the response was yes.
7. Our bill didn't even have my name right. Not even just a misspelling- totally different names. Really.
8. We heard a loud crack and there's a very good possibility that our nice fixture was broken at that time but we were not in the same room so there's no telling.
9. Seeing as the fixture was damaged, the job is still not done. They offered to come back and install for an additional $100. No thank you.
Our father is a contractor and a former EE- it's too bad he doesn't live even remotely close. When you give a quote, you work in the possibility of a job being harder than it should be or you let the customer know at that time, not at the end when you charge.
We've had great luck with other area businesses but will not be using Heights Electric again. Completely unprofessional, underhanded, and nothing the Heights should be proud of.
