HISTORY
Established in 2016.
Mr. Electric became one of ten service brands owned by Neighborly in 1994. Each brand shares a Code of Values and culture to live by, which not only outline how we work in a professional environment, but also how we live our daily lives. ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
Ian is the owner and manager of Mr.Electric of Houston-West.
A native of the U.K., Ian has been living in Houston for 7yrs.... though hasn't yet lost the British accent.
Oil and Gas brought Ian to Houston originally, his last role being VP in the leading Oilfield Services Co.
However, keen to get back to his roots when he studied Electronics & Electrical Eng for his Masters Degree, Ian changed direction and applied his service and management skills by investing in the Mr.Electric franchise.

I called two days ago and the electrician and apprentice came yesterday. They looked at what needed to be done. I wanted to purchase my own light fixture to save money. They returned today and I have lights! Shaderick knew what he was doing and was very professional. I will definitely use them again if and when needed. I paid less than what others wanted to charge, for which I was grateful!
I called Mr. Electric West for an estimate on replacing a panel at my house. I ultimately didn't choose to do the work yet, but their representative was extremely professional..diligent about current COVID protocols and was very honest with me while answering my questions. They came out that day, and got me a detailed estimate before leaving. If I choose to complete the work, I will be choosing them for my electric needs.
Installed three chandeliers and a outdoor fan in my home. They completed the job exactly how we needed in a timely manner.

Called first thing in the morning and had a tech within 2 hours. Cody was very informative and explained everything to me even though I really had no clue what he was talking about...LOL. Needless to say I am very pleased with the overall service provided by Mr. Electric and will for sure use them again when and if the need arises. Thank you.
Scheduled an appointment, waited all day for the guy to come to my house and say yes he can do the job. If I could give them less than a one star I would. THEY WAISTED MY TIME. Hire someone else if you can!!!
I chose someone else, but my interactions with them have been solid and cordial. Ian, the owner personally responded to me.

My GOODNESS! Mr. Electric and Mr. Jeremy was so kind and very professional! No funny over the top jargon.. straight shooter.
Woke up to the all the restroom circuits upstairs and downstairs to be out.
Was a simple fix and was very knowledgeable. Also got an estimate, with a payment plan to redo the breaker box.
Definitely reccomend! Especially to all my gals Yelpers afraid to get scammed or overpriced!
This will be a long one. The initial meet with the company was fine, the quote was good, and the inspection had no issues.....other than that everything sucked. First, they didn't call in the order to turn back on my electricity until after 4pm, which meant that I was without electricity until midnight. The only reason I got it turned back on at all that night is because I have stage four cancer and they made an urgent exception. Don't get me started on how bad the city is on getting things turned back on, total government type bull. But back to the original. I was NEVER told there was even a possibility I could be without electricity that long, or that it would take six phone calls to the city to beg to get my power back. Also the job wasn't completed because after all this, the original problem of a fuse being out in my kitchen, wasn't fixed. Turned out I could have saved myself 6K if they had just tested the outlets and punched the gfci thingy, so I paid for a total rewire and new breaker box I didn't even need. Well I canceled the check that night when I realized they left me without the issue fixed, no communication, and in the dark for hours. Well guy shows up next day, said he had texted the wrong number, fixes the little gfci thing and I give him another check. Turns out they had deposited the check before my nonpayment went through, but my dumb@$$ wrote them another check since I had canceled the first. They wait two months after the work had completed and cashed the other check. So I woke up today overdrawn on my account because they took 4K out, for the second time. The work may be alright, but nightmare dealing with them. Also left holes around new breaker box that means I need to get new drywall done. hire at your own risk.
My master bathroom light switch was not working and Eliud fixed it perfectly in ~5 minutes. He was nice, professional and courteous. Making the appointment was easy and quick and I got same day service in the time window they quoted. I highly recommend this company, if I need any more electrical services in the future this is my definite choice!

This electric company is top notch. From their dispatch manager Ms.Tina to there technicians. They are consummate Professionals and explain in detail the issues they diagnose and the necessary remedies that are needed. Jeremy their master electrician is very friendly and helpful. Elliott is extremely knowledgeable as well & rest assured you will be receiving best in class service from Mr. Electric. My two cents...when it comes to electronic work on your home there is no reason to roll the dice & go with a mom & pop shop it's best to stick with a company that you see their trucks doing work all over Houston.

Outstanding experience from start to finish. We are currently renovating our home and as a result have met with many, many contractors for various work needed and were elated to finally have a very transparent, easy, and professional experience.
Prices are upfront and fair. Excellent communication with scheduling department, owner, and the electrician. Our electrician Mark was very professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and tidy leaving no mess to clean up. Also, and perhaps most importantly, the owner Ian was professional, polite, and displayed a lot of integrity.
Quality of work and overall experience exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future!
Really appreciate the electrician and management. Fair Prices excellent follow up.

The Mr. Electric team provided amazing customer service and an excellent experience. Their operator Jill was very accommodating and went above and beyond to work with my schedule as I was at the mercy of my plumber's schedule. Jeremy, their master electrician, came out very quickly and on short notice and was very transparent with no frills about the work and the price, which I appreciate. He was very knowledgeable and made an effort to make the electric work and my aesthetic come together. All in all, I plan to have their team back in the future when I start several other projects. Could not be happier with the experience.
Quoted and did the just work we needed done. Did not have high pressure sales tactics or add on extras. Mark was very professional and competent, explained the job step by step. No mess to clean up. Reasonably priced. Would use them again.
We used Mr Electric to install our ceiling fan in our study. David was the electrician, he was really professional, extremely polite and very affordable. We really liked him and will call him back always from now on. Ian the owner was very helpful too.

Prior to the day of upgrade the business was 5 stars.
Upgrade day they moved to a 3 - lack of communication between their employees and contacting Center Point. - CP came to the home at 3 to turn on the lights but Mr E wasn't done yet. So CP left. Mr E supposedly called CP at 5pm to finish the work, and told us CP could be out by 7pm. Long story short, CP never got the call Mr E left the house at 5pm with a family of 8 sitting outside in 100 temps/humidity and mosquitoes- with 2 family members having special medical conditions.
CP stated they could be out by 7am the following day.- not good! Now I got involved and called the Mr Electric company and asked for a hotel compensation for the medical kids, they agreed. 1/2 the family stayed the night in a reasonable hotel of $70+ tax (remember Houston) and followed up by emailing the receipt to their recommended email, and I have yet to receive payment. - so I drop to a 3 star.
Now a month later, my electric box is popping breakers. I reached out via the website as calling is a hassle, but I will tomorrow during business hours.
Mr. Electric could respond to email inquiries via the internet form on their page.
They want to sell their services, but once you use them they could care less about keeping their customers. I am not happy with their business, and I have reached out via website, now I have moved on via Facebook.
This matter has become personal to the fact that their work could lead to a home fire and as of now if the investigation proves the fire was electrical this Mr. Electric in Katy will be sued.
But that is why they get 1.5 stars, I really should give .5
I like that I spoke to a knowledgeable and friendly staff to set up an appointment. I like that options for payment is very reasonable. Very nice technician.

Awesome folks working at Mr. Electric. They stay in contact with you regarding arrival. They are very knowledgeable and extremely courteous. My service tech David was so friendly I would have felt comfortable asking him to babysit - if I had one.
From my experience you can't go wrong. I had a short in my den and it took a while to isolate - not his fault, it was a floor outlet. However, once found, he was able to isolate the circuit and get me back running very quickly.
Give them a chance and you'll be glad you did. Rates are what I would consider industry average so, not going for cheap here but awesome quality of service.
David was our Electrician, he was very thorough, explained everything in detail didn't leave any questions unanswered, and very friendly. Great service, price in my opinion was fair for all the work being put in. Definitely recommend!
my experience was very good in this company, they offer excellent service, they left my vacuum cleaner like new, I would recommend this place to everyone
