One of the only union electricians in the Channahon area that does RESIDENTIAL work.
Mr. Paxson did an excellent job!  We had three receptacles, two fans, and three switches installed.  Mr. Paxson gave us a very good estimate, and stayed in contact with us as we decided what to have done.  
On the day the work was completed he showed up on time.  
All of the work is top notch!
As the work was completed he kept the area very clean.
Everything was done within three hours.

I've used Eddie at Electra-City 3 times now.  

The first time was to install a switch in my garage to control the garage door opener to get it up to code.  

The second time was to replace some switches with wi-fi switches that I bought for my home.  

The third time was to install two hard-wired ring security cameras to replace the existing lights in my backyard and balcony.  

Eddie was great all 3 times.  He's very knowledgeable, friendly, and charges a very fair price.  I would highly recommend him!

We have been having issues with the fuse going out in the bedroom. We had these guys come out to see what was the issue. The technician told us that there is a bad appliance plugged in. Well, we knew this. He didn't really try to find the root cause of this, even though the service call charge was a hefty $115. The technician should have spent at least a few minutes to determine the cause to the best of his ability if they are charging this much just to come out.

When we received the bill, it indicates that there is a 13% charge to use a credit card! Do you expect people to mail checks in?? This is clearly not the way to do business in 2015. Will not be using them again.

We had a rush situation, and Arnold came through for us. They are organized. The job required two visits, because an unusual transformer had to be ordered, and the second visit I discovered I did not have my keys to the unit (due to the unusual amount of trading keys to this rental unit back and forth due to a pending sale, for showings, inspections, etc.) and both the tech and Mary in the office could not have been kinder about it, simply re-scheduling without drama. Their invoicing (necessary when real estate is in the process is changing hands!) is prompt, too. Altogether a well-run outfit--not the cheapest, perhaps, but reliable in a crunch-time.

Eligio did a really great job installing our water filtration system that involved reconfiguring sink plumbing and drilling a hole through the granite countertop. Everything works great and looks great as well!

Hired them to install 1 ceiling fan and 3 separate light fixtures and they did a fantastic job. He was easy to work with and very professional from start to finish. Will definitely recommend them to anyone.

This is the best electrical contractor in the area.When I had a short in my kitchen, two other electricians could not find the problem. I was told that I would need to gut my kitchen to either find the break or to just have it rewired. Luckily a friend referred me & told me to I call Olson before making my decision. They came out promptly & luckily found the issue. The others were on the right track, but stopped short of finding the issue. Steve & Paul located the break, & were able to fix the issue without having to gut the kitchen. They do quality work, & are extremely knowledgeable. I refer them now, & will only use them for my electrical in the future!!

I recently had an emergency situation and was able to reach these guys. At the time I would have let anybody help me but I'm glad they answered. It turns out the problem was minor and they were honest enough to tell me that. I appreciate the honesty and great service.

Had a GFCI trip during the night for no apparent reason, nothing running at the time.
Called to request that it be checked out. Showed up within 20 minutes, did a thorough evaluation and very reassuring.
Will definitely add to my address book for future use.

We hired Brian to complete a punch list of electrical items. The written contract that was agreed upon was for around $3800. The work was supposed to be completed around October 15th per the contract.  It didn't get done til February 12th.  That's FOUR months late.

Now let's talk about money. The final bill ended up being $13,500.00. That's not a typo. Thirteen thousand five hundred dollars. We were shocked when we received the bill. We asked him what happened to the contract. He said there were other issues that had to be corrected and the contract says any other issues are billed at $90/ hour. Fair enough, but the first time he told us about the other issues is when the final invoice was rendered. We never even had a chance to authorize or approve these additional issues to be corrected.

This guy pretty much ripped a page out of our checkbook and wrote himself a blank check. DO NOT let this happen to you. Never sign an open ended contract with this contractor or any other contractor, otherwise, you will be the one to get shocked at the end.

Had some outlets that were out and one that needed to be fixed! They fixed everything in half an hour and very reasonable pricing! They even called me the next day that I first called to let me know someone canceled and they could come today! Compared to others this was a great price! They were on time and worked quickly! Will use them for remodel!!

I agree with the previous review. Don't be wary of this guy. Just don't do business with him. He also asked us for 60% in advance. OK, I wasn't born yesterday. Nobody asks for 60% in advance. I asked him why it was so high. He said he had to buy supplies. We were installing lighting that we purchased. So what are we talking about - some electrical boxes and some wire?
He was supposed to be at our house at 10am. He called at 9:45 and said that he had some calls that delayed him and that he'd be about 2 hours late. He showed up at 12:30. Then he said that the lights (that I purchased from a reputable lighting company) were no good and that he couldn't install them. I went out to Home Depot and purchased 3 lights for the front closet. He didn't even try to put those in. He just left and said to call him when I had lights for the other closets. Why didn't he even try to put the other light in?
I went out that night and purchased 3 other lights from the lighting company we had previously been to and called Dino to let him know that we had new lighting. We set up an appointment for 1pm on Friday. Dino texted me on Thursday night to confirm that we were still on for Friday. I told him that we were still on.
At 11:26 Dino texted me that he had an emergency panel upgrade and that he would be 2 hours late. 2 hours late seems to be standard for him. Now I am not one of those people who carry my phone with me everywhere I go so I was unable to respond immediately to Dino. By the time I responded to him, he said that he had already made other plans and that he couldn't be sitting around waiting for my reply. Oh, sitting around like I had done for 2 days waiting for him to show up?
He offered to come to the house at 8am the next day (Saturday). Although I was extremely leery at this point, I told him that he could come to the house and finish the job. I told him that I expected him at 8am and that this was his final chance to do the job.
He went ballistic (just as the previous reviewer said, this nut job has a temper) and told me to keep the job and get somebody else to do it. Then he told me that he was going to put a lien on the house for the work done. Then he said that he was going to call the village because I didn't get permits. Let's see, if I needed permits to put lights in, don't you think my licensed electrician should have told me that?
Stay far, far away from this lunatic.

I hired Advanced Area Serv Corp to do the complete wiring for my 900 Sq Ft Master Bedroom Suite Addition. They were totally awesome! They accommodated my schedule and arrived on time. They completed the work on time and diligently cleaned behind themselves. I was impressed with their professionalism and would highly recommend them to all my family and friends

UNBELIEVABLE!! They blew off my appointment and had the nerve to blame it on me!  I made an appointment, called the day before to confirm, and even asked them to call if they couldn't make it.  No call, no show.  They later posted a response to my review on Angie's List blaming me for poor planning.  Stay away!
