Eddie (the owner) of Electra - City answered my call for a quote to install a ceiling fan/light/remote combo quickly and gave a firm quote.
By luck he had an opening and he was able to do the work the next day.  

Eddie (the owner) was very professional, knowledgeable, efficient and verified every step in the process. He was meticulous in his measurement and did not leave a mess.

Overall the work was beyond 5 stars.  Electra - City was very reasonably priced especially compared to 2 other quotes I received over the phone.

I will use Electra - City  again when I have any electrical needs.

Here's the tasks needed to install a ceiling fan/light/remote combo without electric in the ceiling:

Install electric box in attic for ceiling fan in spare bedroom
Make ceiling electric box live for the new ceiling fan
Created hole in bedroom ceiling for fan to attach to electric box
Routed wires to bedroom wall switch from attic
Changed bedroom wall switch to control ceiling fan
Assembled ceiling fan with remote control and led lights
Installed ceiling fan in bedroom
Placed ceiling fan remote control holder next to light switch
Verified and explained all ceiling fan/light/remote  combo functions

After he completed the ceiling fan installation, I asked about some additional tasks that I needed done.  Eddie knocked those out in no time with a slight extra charge.

Additional tasks:
Raised dining room light 4 feet in a 20 ft lofted ceiling

Replaced a basement smoke detector (they only last 8-10 years)

Changed battery in smoke detector in a 20 ft lofted ceiling in bedroom

I purchased a mirror from Wayfair and added on installation. No one  ever showed up. I was so upset and cancelled the installation with them. I reached out to Eligio, and he contacted me right away. Thankfully, he was able to come out the same day. He installed the mirror in such a short amount of time and was super professional. I highly recommend him!

I hired these guys to do a whole bunch of small electrical jobs at our new house. Geronimo provided a quote via Yelp which seemed like a very fair price; not the cheapest but it was on the less expensive side of the quotes I received.

They were right on time, COVID aware, and did the work with care and attention to detail. It's clear that Geronimo and his team take pride in doing a quality job. Communication over Yelp and text was also clear and courteous. I don't think there's much more you could ask for, really.

I recently had an emergency situation and was able to reach these guys. At the time I would have let anybody help me but I'm glad they answered. It turns out the problem was minor and they were honest enough to tell me that. I appreciate the honesty and great service.

Had a GFCI trip during the night for no apparent reason, nothing running at the time.
Called to request that it be checked out. Showed up within 20 minutes, did a thorough evaluation and very reassuring.
Will definitely add to my address book for future use.

We hired Brian to complete a punch list of electrical items. The written contract that was agreed upon was for around $3800. The work was supposed to be completed around October 15th per the contract.  It didn't get done til February 12th.  That's FOUR months late.

Now let's talk about money. The final bill ended up being $13,500.00. That's not a typo. Thirteen thousand five hundred dollars. We were shocked when we received the bill. We asked him what happened to the contract. He said there were other issues that had to be corrected and the contract says any other issues are billed at $90/ hour. Fair enough, but the first time he told us about the other issues is when the final invoice was rendered. We never even had a chance to authorize or approve these additional issues to be corrected.

This guy pretty much ripped a page out of our checkbook and wrote himself a blank check. DO NOT let this happen to you. Never sign an open ended contract with this contractor or any other contractor, otherwise, you will be the one to get shocked at the end.

If a zero was possible, that is what I would give this contractor.  I hired him to install under cabinet lights.  He came out with an obviously untrained apprentice who did all of the work while he sat and barked out orders -- screaming at him much of the time.  At one point the apprentice was lost and did not know what to do.  Rather than helping him, he responded -- figure it out idiot and sat there staring at him.  Eventually, I started helping the apprentice myself.  He then billed me over a $1000.  Shortly after I received the bill, he called demanding payment.  I explained that I felt I was overbilled.  But, I agreed to pay him $700 that night if he would consider it payment in full.  He agreed, but has continued sending me invoices for allegedly past due amounts and has even filed a mechanics lien on my house.  Do not use this bully.

Dino was great to work with!! We needed a lot of work done at our church. Outside lights, ceiling fans, install a light in a closet and replace fluorescent lights with LED. His work was top notch. He even was nice enough to pick up the ceiling fans I ordered from Home Depot. I would not trust anyone else to do my electrical work.

I hired Advanced Area Serv Corp to do the complete wiring for my 900 Sq Ft Master Bedroom Suite Addition. They were totally awesome! They accommodated my schedule and arrived on time. They completed the work on time and diligently cleaned behind themselves. I was impressed with their professionalism and would highly recommend them to all my family and friends

Let me start off by saying that their work is quality and end result was good, hence the 2 stars. If you are willing to wait and get 3rd class service with a good price then I suggest going with them.
Kinslow smith is run by 1 person - Ed. Ed is never available by phone. He has hired someone to answer his calls,Nancy, and email him with appointments and questions. I saw an amazon deal online and called before I purchased to see if I really needed to get it since most places honor the price with out groupon/amazonlocal purchase. I needed my chandelier installed with a new electrical source and Nancy set up a next day estimate with Ed. He was great and on time and promised us to get it done before Christmas with all work done by him only. On the day of his appointment he just never showed. No one picked up, we waited and waited. At last Nancy texted me 1 hour PAST my appointment slot saying Ed is sick and he won't be showing up. Why couldn't he just call me and tell me PRIOR to my appointment? So then the next 2 days I waited for someone to call me back and reschedule (even though I did not want to give them a second chance for such poor customer service but my husband wanted to use him bc of his prices). NO CALL BACK.
I called and called until I reached Nancy who rescheduled me and states she cannot apologize on his behalf. I told Nancy to have Ed call me personally...he never did. The day of our second appointment Nancy stopped picking up. I googled Ed's cell and he told me he was running a half hour behind...fine. Just tell me!!! Ends up he came with 2 other guys we never met and then Ed LEFT for the whole time. These 2 guys were training and he just left them. I was told only Ed would be doing my work. Luckily my chandelier is up and I am happy with the clean up afterwards.

Long story short, I personally would not recommend Kinslow Smith. Poor customer service in 2013 does not fly...may be 10 years ago it did.
