Best Plumbing Services in Hawaii
i had a huge plumbing issue in my bathtub. i called six other plumbers who either was way to expensive or not available til the middle of next week. the first plumber that came to my apt stated that he couldnt take out the object that fell in the drainage. so i called ala wai plumbing and told the guy exactly what the problem was. he came within an hour and it took him five minutes to snake out the object! .. OMG!! i was sooo happy and it was so inexpensive! thank you much..now i can bubble bath again and have a clean shower!

A week or so ago, I found myself standing in water in front of my kitchen sink. Discovered the old faucet needed replacing. Found Tony by calling the number on his truck. He was there two days after I called, and did a quick and efficient job of replacing with my newly purchased one. We quickly discussed how to place it, with his good suggestions. Economical pricing for my small budget, too. He will be my new, go-to for all my plumbing needs, and I will share his contact with my other friends. We older retirees who live by ourselves always need reliable, trustworthy help.

Great experience with this company. Service was top notch (and fast). Isaac was very helpful in explaining the various options available for cleaning and even repairing the problem, as well as the pricing for each. In the end, we figured out a great compromise that got me the right solution for a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

AMKO came to the rescue as Lowe's preferred plumbing installer. We ordered a new shower enclosure through Lowe's several months ago but through a series of unfortunate events (NO fault to AMKO) we've JUST had the correct enclosure delivered and installed.
The first visit by AMKO occurred over six weeks ago when Alex and his helper came to remove our existing shower enclosure. They were prompt, punctual, friendly and efficient! Alex was personable, knowledgeable and skilled in the quick removal of the shower stall. What I really liked was they were considerate in removing their shoes and laid down a padded tarp on our bathroom tile floor to avoid scratching the finish. AMKO was quick to verify and confirm the accuracy of measurements that were done by a previous installer. Unfortunately, on this first visit, we discovered that the manufacturer had produced the wrong model and size so Alex and helper just removed the shower enclosure.
On the second visit, we were excited when Lowes scheduled AMKO to install the new shower enclosure order. Again, Alex and helper came on time and we all figured this would close out our order and installation. Well, lo' and behold, when Alex and helper opened the box, they found that the manufacturer had sent the same incorrect enclosure but this time, there were no hinges or handles...it was just a huge sheet of tempered glass! Alex was surprised with the error and promptly returned the incorrect product to Lowes. Luckily, our home has other bathrooms so we could still bathe...uh, in case you thought that we weren't bathing in between. Ewww.
So, the expression third time's the charm is true (for us, at least). We amicably worked with Lowes to correct the situation and Alex returned. Gosh, after coming up to our home 3 times previously, he didn't need a GPS to find us. He returned with another helper, Vladimir, and opened the manufacturer's box just outside of his van as we all looked on. Hooray! This time, the correct product was delivered. Alex and Vladimir carried it up three flights of stairs and quickly installed our shower enclosure. They made sure that they didn't leave a mess even though they had to do a couple of field cuts into the metal frame (they cut it outside in their van) and still vacuumed our bathroom floor and hallway before leaving. Alex asked my husband to feel free to inspect the installation and his opinion for satisfaction. Geez, we've not ever had a contractor ask that! He even followed up (returned to our home) with us the next day, Saturday, to ensure their work quality and customer satisfaction.
AMKO is the plumbing contractor arm of Hawaii Building Supply which does excellent renovation work...ah, but that's another review.

UPDATE 2/18/2019: Gary tried to bully me - HA! He asked me to call him through Yelp. He first tried to convince me that we did not have all the facts, and even claimed that they went back several times at no cost, when they only went back once and flushed a few buckets of water down and disappeared.
When I asked him why after taking $5000 from my in-laws and the sewer backflowed again within days, he did not have the decency to use his camera to figure out where the real problem was and then clear the drain like the other company easily did later (instead he told my in-laws that they had to do a bigger job), with no answer he said: You obviously have no clue about what you're talking about, let's just handle this in court ok? and hung up. WHAT? Note that I never mentioned about legal action in the conversation (yet!), and he brought this up trying to intimidate me. Sure! Junvenile! My lawyer will be very glad to give him a lesson and claim all the costs. Wonder how many dissatisfied customers that they've bullied.

I'm writing this so that others especially the elderly would not fall prey to Rayco's unethical practice again. If you wonder why they claimed to have been in business for 30 years and only have 16 reviews (watch out for new fake reviews!) -at least in my in-laws' case, they're elderly and did not dare to complain about them because everybody knows everybody in the island, and they did not want to get into trouble for complaining.
Well, not me. My father-in-law has been hospitalized for over 20 days now and still in the hospital because of what Rayco did, and I have record of the phone calls from my mother-in-law that they ignored. Two plumbers after them confirmed that their work was not needed and did not fix the problem, and I have dated video recording of the clog sewer a couple of weeks after their $4500 repair work. If Rayco has an issue with my review here, feel free to message me directly. But I'll for sure pursue this through the Contractors' Board, BBB, as well as other legal venue if my in-laws are contacted and/or harassed due to this.
NOW FOR WHAT RAYCO DID TO MY ELDERLY IN-LAWS:
My in-laws initially hired them to clear a sewer drain blockage about a month ago. They charged my in-laws over $350 to supposedly clear out the drain, and then another about $4500 to supposedly repair/replace the problem pipes. The day that Gary the owner came in to ask for the final payment immediately after the job, he hinted to my in-laws that they probably needed to do another even bigger repair job to truly fix the problem, which left my in-laws confused. He took the money and left the old pipes at the house, when they're supposed to remove them per their quote.
Several days later the toilet backflowed with toilet/fecal sewer water. It went all the way into their master bedroom carpet, and my elderly in-laws had to frantically clean up the mess.
When my in-laws called Rayco about the problem, they sent someone to come flushed 5 buckets of water down the toilet to fix the problem. It back-flowed again a couple of days later, and Gary suggested that they had to do the bigger repair job that he proposed earlier. When my in-laws argued that they're supposed to provide the warranty for the repair, Gary said that if they could prove that it's his pipes that caused the problem, then he'd gladly come back to fix it. Really? He charged $350 to clean out the blockage and $4500 to repair the sewer problem, and it backed flow within days and that's not his problem?
When my in-laws declined to do the bigger job immediately, Gary stopped responding to them. He basically abandoned them with a non-functioning plumbing system, perhaps as a way to force them to do the bigger job. My father-in-law got pneumonia possibly from the foul water smell and all the stress a couple of days after frantically cleaning up the fecal backflow, and had to be ambulanced to ER.
Since my father-in-law has been in the hospital, I called two plumbing companies with HIGH number of good yelp reviews. The first one came and assessed that the so called repair job (the $4500 one) was not necessary (and obviously did not fix the problem) as the problem was further down. Since they did not have the right camera with them, I called the 2nd plumbing company and they camera-traced and videotaped the location of the blockage, and cleared the clog for less than the $350 that Rayco charged to do just the clear out without the video camera service (which did NOT fix the blockage). And my in-laws have no sewer problem since.
Like I said, I have all the records of the whole situation and unlike my in-laws, I happen to have a family retained lawyer and am fully prepared to deal with them if I have to. I'm doing this without my in-laws' knowledge as I don't want anybody else to have to go through what my wife (who just came back from Hawaii to deal with this) and her family have gone through.

Being a licensed Realtor for over 15-years and homeowner as well, I went through many Plumbers. Davey Pirtle and his crew has been the most professional, dependable and experts in their field for all my plumbing repairs for my home and my clients as well. Their pricing is competitive but their service and expertise is of a higher standard then others that I have used. I highly recommend Plumbing Works!

Jeffrey was highly recommended by another business we were working with. He has years in the industry and it was the best experience. He has great communication skills, educates and answers all of your questions, and is so nice! And most importantly he knows what he's doing. His prices are reasonable compared to other plumbers we've worked with and we are grateful we found our plumber for our business! Highly recommend!

Mike was prompt, efficient, ready to answer any questions & did a great job. I'm trusting this company with household repairs or renovations.

Sean has done a lot of work for me. Different kinds of jobs and all done well at a fair price and with great communication. He has repaired a ceiling that was water damaged from a leaking toilet that was above. He installed a disposal that required a complete re-work of all the plumbing. He also hung a giant heavy picture over our bed and that was no easy task, trust me.
I find him and his associates to be trustworthy, fair, polite, and eager to do a good job no matter what it is.

My clog in the kitchen sink was sitting a couple days. I needed someone to come the next day since I needed to coordinate with a neighbor for a shared line. All the more popular plumbers were booked. DOB arrived later than initially planned due to a longer-than-expected previous job, but the dispatcher was very communicative via text and call, setting expectations. The price was very reasonable, the same as others on Yelp. The technician is licensed and patient in explaining what he was doing, professional, and cleaned up after himself. He snaked the line, and it's all good now. He's been a licensed plumber for a long time, and this is a new business (a month old), and he did a good job! He also does bathrooms and other plumbing needs. Consider using DOB for your next job!

We've used him twice and both times we were extremely satisfied. Fred, the owner, is licensed, responsive, and professional. We liked him as a person and would definitely recommend him.
Both times, several years apart, we had him replace faucets and there was never a problem.

Poor customer service. I left a message on their answering machine twice last week. Delta Plumbing did not bother to call back. Why even have an answering machine?

Major leak in the ceiling in between our kitchen and dining room (2 story home) forcing me to turn off the main water valve. Our first plumber assigned to us from American Home Shield was not able to help us till next week (this leak happened on a Wednesday) then our 2nd plumber (on Thursday) assigned came out but didn't have the equipment to scope the ceiling to pinpoint the problem so pulled out of the job. They say 3rd times a charm. It sure was. Tui and one of his plumbers Oliver saved the day! They both were tedious by the process of elimination found this leak the first time with their scope in the ceiling of my kitchen. Tui then left but Oliver was the star of the fix. He got the supplies he needed to fix what looks like a bad cold water blue tube cracked (2cm), 6-7inches from the nearest joint sending out a spray of water. It soaked and did its damage silently to my walls and ceiling. I pray my Homeowners insurance adjuster will be diligent, kind, and honest as these folks were. Patience is the key and they have it. Not to forget their folks who took my phone call and immediately texted me my scheduled time. I received their text while I was still on the phone with them. Happy Plumbing when they come to your rescue.
