Best Electricians in San Diego, CA

First off my disclaimer - I despise yelp. Seriously, I go by word of mouth since Yelp went to s#i! years ago.

I am writing this review because I truly feel that this company deserves recognition no matter what medium you use. If you are like me, I cannot stand bigger companies that dominate the field and overcharge. Brilliant Electric is one of those smaller businesses that really goes the extra mile to ensure you are happy and properly taken care of. Alfredo has progressed through the ranks as an electrician and can do the real electrical work that a lot of others cannot or will change you ridiculous rates. Alfredo is fairly priced and excellent service.

My story: had flickering lights and I was able to troubleshoot it down to being one circuit. I determined it was not a circuit breaker and could not find any loose connections. I finally had to break down and get an electrician out since the flickering was getting worse. Called Alfredo and he was pretty busy, but he asked about the problem and asked if he could swing by late afternoon/early evening - of course I asked if it cost more and he said my rates are the same since you are accommodating me due to my schedule - really? That is service! Him and another guy showed up and worked 3 hours on this problem and I can tell you it was not an easy find. It was a very simple fix but had to be troubleshot properly to ensure it was the problem. He even fixed another connection close by so that does not become a problem later. He stayed longer and did more than he needed to but he still charged me the quoted rate because he is a professional and cares!! He has won me as customer moving forward as I have other work I need done this summer.

I do not recommend this place at all. They installed some vents and didnt wire it correctly and when they came back out to fix their discrepancy they wanted to charge me again

Daniel did a really great job with wiring an outlet for me.  He kept me informed on when he was to arrive for the appointment and arrived on time.  He was very professional and knowledgeable.  I will definitely be using him again with any future electrical needs!

This was my second time hiring Darell and again he gets 5/5. This time, I had an outdoor water pipe (above ground) which had a pinhole leak due to rust at the connection site. I called Darell to ask if this was something he could repair and he said yes. He came a few hours later and even though it ended up being a bigger project, he stayed till the end and finished the work. I am super happy that he was my first call.  Just like the last time, he was polite, professional, and knowledgeable.

The day after Christmas, in the middle of a diy bathroom project, the power went off in my bathroom and adjoining bedroom. Called a bunch of electricians and they weren't open because of the observed holiday on Dec 26th.

He was quick to respond, did a thorough diagnostic of the problem, explained everything he did, and made recommendations going forward. Identified a shoddy and dangerous wiring job in the attic that had been done by the person who owned/flipped the house before I moved in. He fixed the problem and made sure it was in a safe and secure position that wouldn't be a fire hazard. Honest, reliable, and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Kelley is a pleasure to deal with! First, she's responsive: I contacted four different handyman services asking if they can help me do a couple of small things around the house. Two of them haven't responded at all, and one said I should call but then he never picked up the phone. Kelley responded to my messages even though she was out of town that week!

Most importantly, she showed up on time and finished all the items on my list: from filling wall holes to installing power outlets and a new shower. She's skilled and efficient, she cleans up after the work is done, and also she has a great website with all the relevant information (e.g. rates). It's great to know a reliable person like her when you're new to home ownership :) Will definitely call Kelley again if I need anything else done around the house!

Rick was extremely responsive, gave an accurate quote over the phone, and due to house being vacant with a move in date only days away, was able to juggle his schedule to get the job done prior to home being moved into, thus less stuff to cover up to avoid getting dirty. ETA was early morning til about noon and due to a job prior to mine having unforeseen delays was a bit late but I was updated regularly. Sort of wish if I wasn't the first appointment I had been notified so I could sleep in a bit on my day off but this may have been last minute and really not a big deal. As far as work goes, Rick and his partner did fast and high quality work. As far as bill goes, yikes, but this is a skilled worker, met my goals of doing high quality work ASAP. And while he was only person on yelp that provided quote, he keeps busy so likely very competitive. If Rick is available he will be first choice for all future electrical work.

Hooked up my hottub and everything works great.  It has been 1.5 years since install and no issues.  JW was prompt and courteous.  The owner made some outstanding recommendations on the install - for example, a covered outdoor electical outlet (to avoid getting splashed) and we love it.
I now need to use JW again and wanted their number, found on Yelp and decided to post a review.  I will post again after they install my lights and fans in my outdoor living space!

Called Geraldo and he arrived within 30 minutes.  Gave me a fair price to have a jacuzzi dosconnected.  Great customer service!  Found my go to company.

I had an issue with a light outlet and the team was very responsive to send someone over. They were super professional, explained to me the issue and gave me a very reasonable quote. The job the did was great.

I totally LOVE this company and I am seriously annoyed at myself for not contacting them years ago to do our kitchen & hallway lighting!  We have been talking for about 5-6 years about getting can lights in our kitchen since it is so incredibly dark, even got a couple of estimates from handymen but it was too costly.  I ran across Right Way Lightening in some mailer to our home and figured they would not be that highly reviewed or that great.  I was so wrong!  They quickly responded, gave us an estimate far below what I expected, scheduled us easily, came and did the work perfectly, even doing a couple of additional things that we asked about while they were there.  I cannot be more impressed with their service, their pricing, and the quality of their work.  I am already planning of all the other areas I can add lighting to!

Alex and his team did an excellent job for us.  After contacting several other electricians for quotes, Alex was the most competitive and responsive.  He communicated quickly with me and provided a timely and very reasonable quote.  We were adding two dedicated 20-amp electrical outlets in our garage and a new circuit in our breaker.  Alex and his team arrived on time and got the job done in an hour.   I personally made a mistake in describing the distance from the outlets to the panel in our original communications, which forced Alex to head out and buy more conduit.  He didn't complain or up-charge me.  He stuck to his original quote.  Alex and his team were professional, cleaned up afterwards, and everything works great in our garage.  I am so relieved because I have found our new electrician going forward.  I am recommending Alex to everyone I know.  Thank you Alex!

The team did a great job. We recently moved into our new home in La Costa and wanted to install an appropriate plug for my EV charger. On top of that, some of the electrical in our garage looked really questionable, strung together at one point with extension cords and a power strip tied in with a junction outside a box or wall.
We discussed both issues right away, turns out I did not have as specific info as I needed about the charger plug, but one of them immediately got on the phone with the local dealer to find out what they recommended for their chargers while the other started cleaning up the wiring job. They were patient with me while I looked up my new charger specs while they worked, and we eventually settled on the type of plug I needed. Meanwhile they finished up the wiring job, and installed a proper junction box. I plugged in my current (level 1) charger, and it still wouldn't light green. Turns out that area wasn't properly grounded. They immediately tracked the line between the outlet and the fuse box and found where the grounding connection was loose and fixed it.
They had another appt to get to by that time, but promised to come back when it was done and install the charger outlet (which they did). It works great, and now I can safely plug in all our power tools (and my old, slower charger) on one side of the garage, and plug in my new level 2 charger from the other side in the new outlet! Both electricians were knowledgeable, friendly, and cooperative, both we me and each other, as they worked efficiently to meet out home needs, and were respective of social distancing while we interacted, and kept their masks on the whole time. The bill was right on the estimate. I will definitely go back to them with any further electric needs on our new house!

These guys were great. Very down to earth and reasonable. They came to help me fix a fountain pump that had failed, and impressed me with their forthrightness and honesty. Their focus seems to be on getting the job done and keeping their customers happy in the long term. I will call them next time I need something.

Eric and son installed two outdoor outlets for us and also connected and mounted our EV charger.  Friendly, professional service.  We will use them again.

I needed a 240 volt line brought into my garage from the breaker box for charging a new plug-in hybrid car.  Zac and Robert arrived on time, did an excellent job on the installation, cleaned up well, and did it all for a very reasonable price.  I made sure they gave me business cards, two of which I gave to the car dealer so they could recommend Zapp for such work to their customers.  I strongly recommend Zapp and have nothing negative to say about them.

So wonderful to work with. Answered questions, explained our issue, and quickly solved our electrical issue.
I trust Collier Electric and will use again!
