Best Electricians in San Diego, CA

Volt was recommended to us by a jacuzzi store. They came out and gave us a quote, but wanted to take a route that was more than dbl the necessary route. When I called to ask for clarification and ask for a break down of the quote into time & material, and I never received a return call or email. Called and spoke the the receptionist first and then emailed a few days later. Very unprofessional. I worked for an electrical contractor for 7 years, and a construction management firm for 5. I know what is acceptable, what they need to break down for me in a quote upon request, and what I should be able to expect from a licensed contractor, regardless of trade.

I called Nathan to install four of my chandeliers/light fixtures and he did an excellent job! He was punctual, professional, and kind! I highly recommend Nathan and Albers electric and I will use hiin the future. Thank you Nathan !

Bill came out the next afternoon after I called him in the evening.  He arrived early and quickly and professionally sorted out my problem.  He charged way less than I had expected for such expedited work.  I'll definitely be calling him again if I need his services.

Left 2 messages in the last week. Still haven't heard back, just to schedule an appt. My days off are over. Will call someone more responsive, and courteous, next time. So much for trying to support a local business.

Guys were great.  They gave a good quote from the pictures I sent them.  Price was exactly what was quoted.  Quality of work was great.  They made sure we were happy with the work.  And everyone was friendly.  Couldn't have asked for more.

We were having trouble without electricity in our house all while the crazy pandemic is going on. A friend recommended Joe B. Electric to us. He was helpful and friendly! He even came back to help us put an additional part in that we needed to order. Great service!

Had a whole mess of ceiling light fixtures go out on us. Called Chris and he walked through basic troubleshooting on the phone (free of charge). Very old school in his trade. No BS, no corporate upsell, just taking care of business. When that didn't fix it, he showed up right away and fixed all of the issues for an extremely reasonable rate. If you need an electrician, Chris is your guy.

They installed 2 house house fans for me a few months ago. The installers were professionally and did a good job installing the fans and making it look clean. The fans work well, especially cooling down our upstairs.  They do use more electricity than I anticipated, but cheaper than using the AC. I recommend DEC and the Quiet Cool fans they installed.

Miguel came out to diagnose a power issue we were having. He solved the problem, ran two new dedicated lines, replaces two melted and a few older breakers, and fixed some things a previous electrician had done improperly. Miguel knows what he is doing an he does it very well and very efficiently. I highly recommend!

Highly recommend Hit the Lights Electricians!  Had a collection of minor electrical repair needs -- called them this morning (following recommendations on here) the scheduled a time -- and kept me up to date through the day of when they would arrive.  Repaired the requested items and another that was pointed out.  Charged just the time worked and the minor parts.  Awesome service and very reasonable.

Tim with Electric 24 was awesome.  I am really impressed with the work he did of installing recessed lighting and adding additional light switches and a dimmer.  He was great to work with and always explained things in detail for me.  I saved considerable amounts of money using Electric 24.  I will be using them again very soon and will be referring family and friends to them as well.  Great Job!!!!!

What a great clean job by Kwan!  On time, precise with great execution.  I would highly recommend EV pros and Kwan 100%.  Very reasonable, timely communication from Jennifer who helped schedule the appointment.   He got my charger in the perfect spot on the wall and out of the way.

They did a great job at my home.  Not only did they respond quickly, they were extremely professional.  I won't hesitate to contact them again in the future!

STAY AWAY!!!  The saying birds of a fleather flock together has been verified after my experience with my kitchen contractor recommending Tony from Brite Electric.  They both did a number on me.  

My kitchen cabinet installer, who butchered my cabinets and admitted he had no idea how to do Ikea cabinets after having said he just did an Ikea kitchen the week before, recommened Tony to do the electrical for the kitchen as I needed new outlets and wiring.  At that point  I didn't know the kitchen guy was a hack, and I was on a tight timeline so I went with Tony even though his price was high.  He comes across as being very sharp and personable.  I suppose those are the ones you have to be careful of.

Tony charged me $1500 to wire up most of the kitchen.  The job took his employee James about 4-5 hours as most of the walls were open so he could do things pretty easily.  Here are the issues that arose:

1) They used 8 gauge wire for a 50 amp cooktop.  Per CA code a 50 amp appliance requires 6 gauge wire.  This is a big no-no.  It really is pathetic as the thicker gauge would have cost maybe $30 more.

2) They used a 8 gauge 2 conductor wire for the oven, when it requires a 8 gauge 3 conductor wire.  Per CA code if you had existing 8-2 wire you could reuse it, but it is much safer to use 8-3 and it is a code requirement when wiring new.  Again, they cheaped out.  This would have cost maybe $15 more.  They probably just didn't have any with them and figured I would never know.

3) They used a 50 amp breaker on a 30 amp appliance (over).  This defeats the whole point of having a breaker and is a serious problem.

4) They left a mess everywhere.  When they drilled through joists they didn't bother to vacumn anything up.  They even left their Jambu Juice cup from lunch.

5) They did not patch or cover any of the drywall holes they made.  This is unacceptable for the amount I paid and they never told me otherwise.  I then had to pay the kitchen contractor $150 to patch some drywall holes.  I think it was a total scam between them.

6) Most of the outlets were not lined up and visually off.  I had to pay somebody else to move them later.

7) The price!  I paid what amounted to probably $300/hr.   What is worse his original quote was $2100.  I'm such an idiot.

Here is where it gets fun.  After I discovered that his job was totally subpar I called to figure out a resolution.  At first he totally rebuffed me and said everythign he did was to code and he works on million dollar homes as does the same thing (this means this was not a one-off but he does illegal work regularly).  After I very specifically pointed things out he offered to send me a small amount of money.  I then told him there were more issues than I even previously knew about and the amount he was offereing was inssuficient.  At that point he stopped responding to me.  

BBB, contractor's board, and small claims court here I come!  If anbody has any questions about this review feel free to contact me.

In the past,  I have not had great luck with electricians.   Recently, Jason from Service Rite came to our place and installed LED lighting under my kitchen cabinets and replaced some switches.   He installed two Panasonic Whisper fans in my bathroom with new switches.    He was professional, courteous, punctual and did a great job.   I highly recommend him and this company.

I needed an electricians help and also wanted to support a local Laguna business. He lied to me. I called Lucien in the morning and asked if he could come out same day. He said yes. He told me he would come between 5pm and 6pm. At 6.05pm he had not showed, so I called and got his answer service. They told me they would page him. He called me back at 6.45pm and told me he couldn't make it. I now have dark rooms in my house for the night.

David responded to my Yelp request within an hour, and managed to get someone out to us the first thing the very next morning for a small job (fixing a light socket).  The repair men arrived on time, were polite, worked quickly, and explained the problem and what they were doing to fix it.  I'd definitely go back to RK Electric for any future work we may have.

I've been scammed, ripped off, and the quality of work was shockingly bad. It pains me to have hired Anthem and Gunner to do work for me. He took all of the money with the promise to return to correct and complete the work the following week for what he was hired to do, but never returned, didn't return the money, and left me with 20% of the work done. My walls were left damaged and he left a huge mess behind that took me an hour to scrub clean. He agreed to a list of things to do for me for $500. He tried to save time by hanging heavy metal frames with a single ancho/ bolt by the frame and didn't utilized the d-rings designed to secure the frame well, leaving them dangerously insecure on a stairwell. He placed tape under the frame to claim this made it secure. It didn't. They fell and created more than 3 large and deep holes in my walls and chipped my baseboards. The frames are now broken, too. that's another $150. Thankfully, it didn't harm me or my son. He created significant damage to my walls in 10 places with large anchor holes that will need to be dug out and professionally repaired and marks all over them from the initial hanging, not including the damage created when they fell. (My walls were just professionally painted 1 week before his arrival). I am a single Mom with a 1 year old son. He left me with a repair job that will cost me well over 1K to repair and 80% of the work incomplete that he was paid for. I gave him money in good faith that he was going to return to fix the damage and hang them properly and did so partly because he /and his company were recommended by a close friend. We even had a day scheduled the following week, but he refused to come back after the fact to fix his unsafe and improper hangings, repair the damaged wall, and complete the work list, but he took the money and ran. He tried to do the job quickly for a payday with no conscience in delivering quality work. Unethical and unprofessional! Do not hire this company!!
