I had purchased a new washer/dryer and was stressed out when I found that my electrical wasn't up to code. I called about 5 different guys, 2 didn't call back, one told me he'd have to make huge cuts in my ceiling to do the job, and one was going to take 3 weeks before they could come back.

Duplex Electric came out quickly, explained the process that they planned to use and scheduled a return appointment in a reasonable time frame. They were so friendly! They have top marks on Angie's List, and are also the electricians for St. John of the Cross Parish.

They did a great job on what I needed. There were two working together, so they worked efficiently, and they explained everything to me in detail so that there was no confusion (much appreciated). I felt confident hiring them, and they made the process stress-free. I also referred them to my parents who also had an excellent experience. I would recommend them to anyone!

Art was great! I'm a little bit...annoying...and Art was kind enough to let me look over his shoulder as he fixed the things I had messed up. He explained how I should have changed the outlet, giving me a hard time, which I deserved, and made it a point to ask about our smoke detectors and how often we changed them. He's was honest and open and direct and fair.

With respect to responsiveness, I had screwed up our refrigerator outlet and had an extension cord running through the house, so I needed help sooner rather than later, and Art came the next day. He was about $10 more than others who couldn't come for a week, but I feel it was absolutely worth it given his knowledge and honesty.

The next time I screw my electrical up, or want to avoid doing that, I'm calling Art.

I had a highly positive experience with Donatello Electric yesterday. I'm in the midst of preparing my residence to become a rental unit and have been switching out some light fixtures. To do that, I had to turn off the power at the circuit breaker. I have pretty old circuit breaker, so when I switched off the circuits I wasn't able to switch them back on again. It was getting dark, and I still have more work to do on the house but no light. I called Don. He sent Mike and Tim out within the hour. Within the next hour and 15 minutes, Mike and Tim work diligently to fix the problem. They worked professionally and efficiently to solve the problem. I would definitely call them again.

Be aware that paying by Credit Card May add a 3% charge, but they accept checks too.

I can't believe these folks do not have a review on Yelp. Jack the owner and his employees are outstanding. I cannot say enough great things about Prolite Electric. Professional. Great follow-up. Great pricing. Very fair. Excellent service.

We have an old two flat that we bought a few years ago and it needs some work. The lights in the back stairway were not working and Jeff fixed this for us and installed a new fixture too. He also converted 2 outlets for us that the previous owners had used as 220V outlets. Jeff was professional and pleasant to work with and is an experienced electrician.. We would highly recommend him to friends/family and will use him again in the future as we address others parts of the building that need updates. Thank you Jeff!!

I really recommend Safe Electrical Service. They had to dig a new pipe to the garage to have a 40amp plug for the juicebox (charger) for my electrical car. They did an awesome and super professional job.

David responded almost immediately when I contacted him about needing some wiring help on a light switch for my garage.  He was very professional and did the work super quick, so I was happy to ask him for some additional work, which he also did right away.  He has very reasonable rates and a great demeanor and I'll definitely use him again for any future electrical work.  Thanks David!

Had a great experience with Randal Electric. I'm selling my condos in Chicago and some very minor electrical work popped up on the home inspection report. I called a few different electricians on Yelp in the area and a lot hung up on me because my request was too small for them to set an appointment. I communicated with Randy what I needed to be done and he was confident that it would be a quick and easy fix, plus he'd be able to put me down for an appointment the next morning. Eddie was my electrician who was right on time this morning. He was polite and professional and after he was finished with the breaker he even asked if he could review the home inspection report to make sure everything needing an electricians attention was covered. I appreciate honest businesses in home services. While searching for electricians I ran across CR Electric and they tried to upsell me on an entire new panel a 4-6 hour job that would have been unnecessary and over the top. Eddie was able to make the breaker safe and eliminate the double tap breaker installed by a 10+ year old alarm system company that I never used in 7 years of owning the property. I'm glad I called Randal Electric and if I need electricians for the next 4 condos about to go on the market I know who I'll be calling!

They were fantastic from start to finish. Professional demeanor, communicated with us very well throughout. They initially quoted us on the job based on my explanation and a picture but then we soon realized after they got to the job this would not work because of a brick pillar that would have been very difficult to fish wire through. They assessed the situation and gave me different options and were very fair on the price.  Cleaned up afterwards and were willing to answer all of my questions.  Thanks again to Edwin and Brian. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I've used Homer on a couple different occasions to update wiring in an old building. He is extremely responsive, always on time, and you can tell he knows what he's doing. We've been very happy with his work and will use him again in the future.

This is a really friendly service that I have used. I booked with them to fix up my door because it was getting stuck and I could not fix it. I had a man come out and spend few hours on it and he was able to fix it. Very easy process and I would highly recommend and using them. They are kind of expensive but its well worth the great service.

I was looking for someone to replace and install a chandelier and ceiling fan on a very high ceiling for my parents. I'm on the east coast and my parents live in Plainfield, IL so I looked on Yelp for an electrician and many of the businesses I called were closed. I came across Corey's business and was surprised to see that he was still open. I spoke to Corey and explained what I was looking for and he didn't hesitate to say that he could do the job. You see, the chandelier is one of those geometric shapes and other electricians told me that a scaffold was needed and/or the chandelier couldn't be installed on a sloped ceiling. Some electricians never called me back after seeing the chandelier. Corey sent me a link to the contract by text and I signed it electronically.  Both items were installed that following Wednesday (AND, he used a ladder and not scaffold).  He did a magnificent job! My parents were extremely happy and so was I after seeing the photos Corey sent me. If you are looking for a professional electrician that provides quality work you definitely won't go wrong with Corey.

Customer service is a major dealbreaker for me, and I just talked to this company. I do not like it when people answer me in a choppy manner. I'm also not a big fan of people being impatient when you ask questions ahead of time. The lady told me immediately that it would be $150 for a half n' hour, which I think is a bit steep compared to a site like Fixer. Their website says the estimate is free. I had to ask four different times if I had to pay the $150 upfront. She said I did finally. I asked her, What is the FREE estimate? She told me they only give free estimates on bigger projects. The website does not specify that. I confirmed that they offer payment plans, which it says on the website. She says not for little jobs like this for $150.

I reminded her that she has no idea what the issue is and no one has come out to see it. She told me she definitely knows that it's the light switch. I told her that her website says nothing about a minimum or maximum on payment plans. She said nothing.

She just had too many answers too quickly for me. Two people I know and trust used their service for a much larger job, but word of mouth only gets you so far. If your customer service presents itself in this annoyingly know-it-all manner and doesn't seem to know what's on the website, hard pass! I'll look into the two other companies that I was already going to get an estimate from. They charge less and so far one has had extremely better customer service.

And worst of all, after clearly saying I'll pass on service with this company, that Diamond company the rest of the Yelp! reviewers complained about called me twice in less than a few hours after I talked to a Customer Service rep. I told this rep she had the wrong number and blocked it. I regret even calling this company to begin with.

Angel is the man! I called him around 2:30PM to have 4 light fixtures replaced in the stairwells of my house (high ceilings). I explained to him the urgency of having these replaced and he told me he could be there by 5:30 later that day. He actually showed up an hour early (4:30PM) and was done within 3 hours.

I highly recommend Angel, will be calling him back for future projects.

I used Fixer for the 1st time recently and was thrilled with the quality of work done, skill of handyman and speed of completion. Very easy to book service & pay online.  I have high ceilings in my townhouse & just changing lightbulbs is a challenge.  My Fixer handyman completed all the tasks including installing a new shower sprayer & hose in just over an hour.  I'm thrilled with Fixer and sure I will use them often in the future.
