Moonbeam Lighting Consultation & Design Electrician
I was given Moonbeam Lightings number by a general contractor.  She came to our house and looked at the disaster that the electrician left on our roof. She gave us a great consult. If you are in need of lighting in your house and want some Amazing ideas, you should call Gwen. She is not only professional she is a nice person too.  Highly recommend her. She knows her lighting

NW Natural Lighting Electrician
I would not recommend this company.  I think the product itself can be good IF your home is a good candidate, but these tubes will NOT necessarily give the results salesperson Dawn promises - beware!

Dawn visited our home and showed us videos of what we could expect with the solar tubes. She was very excited and convinced us it would transform our space dramatically. We decided to buy 2 for our living room and one large one in our kitchen. The cost was $2423. We thought it would be worth it as our house was pretty dark. We were wrong.

On the final day of install I was shocked when I saw the results. It was a slight increase in light...a subtle change - NOT a dramatic improvement at all and NOT like even the cloudy days light we had been shown on the video as worst case scenario.

I asked the installer what he thought and he said it was because our tubes were installed in shade, due to the trees around our property. I've read about the tubes since online and they warn about not putting the tubes in shade as you won't get as much light. The salesperson Dawn never mentioned trees/shade during her visit.

I calked to speak with Dawn - she told me we were experiencing less light due to the time of year - that it'll be brighter later in the year. I indicated I was not happy to pay the 2nd half of the bill until we had discussed things further and I suggested she come and see the results. I complained that she had not discussed the potential trees issue with us or told us not to expect good results until later in the year? Dawn kept saying how much we are going to love them and how everyone loves them (like there's something wrong with us) and suggested we speak again after a couple days after I have had a chance to realize how wonderful they are.

After a few days we spoke again and I confirmed again that we were still not happy. I reiterated that the video we were shown was nothing like the results we had. She still kept repeating that everyone else was happy and let me know that her boss expected to collect payment. I suggested she come to our home and see the results herself.

I was disgusted at what happened during the visit. Dawn actually told me the owner of the company thought we were just trying to get out of paying the bill and that maybe we were having financial difficulties. I could not believe I was being so insulted in our own home. Dawn tried to suggest that she did check and consider the trees during her consultation sales visit and that she was not concerned about it. This was a LIE. We had to remind Dawn that she had visited us in the dark - on an evening after work. She could not have possibly seen the trees or shade. We let her know that we feel someone should have properly evaluated the shade and trees issue before selling a promise that we would have significant results. Maybe our home was not right for the tubes? Or why installer put them in knowing the trees were an issue for our roof? Or she he have installed in a different spot?

My boyfriend explained that whilst the living room tubes were not great, they were better than the kitchen, and that we were willing to see how the light improved in the summer months. But for the kitchen - we really felt mislead and we were not happy. Due to the trees our kitchen was maybe never going to be like the videos?.....even in the summer? We asked Dawn what she can do to help? Recommend?

Dawns response was you could cut down the trees. We pointed out that is very expensive (otherwise we would have done it already) AND some of the problematic trees are not in our property.  Dawns second response, which I was so shocked by was well we can remove it for you but then you'll have to pay to fill the holes and repair your roof!!!!!  I could not believe it. Really?

My roof and living room ceilings now have three tubes installed which I'm stuck with. The results are no where near what we were shown to expect.

Dawn never mentioned during her sales pitch that we should be prepared to expect only a slight increase in light initially due to the time of year...or that our results will be less due to shade issues.

My boyfriend saw that I was getting upset and that clearly Dawn was willing to be insulting and rude and had not come to our home to resolve issues. She clearly just wanted payment and that was all. My boyfriend said that we were not getting anywhere and that we didn't need the stress. He said he'd call and pay the remaining balance on Monday, but he restated that we were not happy, that he recommends she change her sales pitch so she doesn't mislead anyone else, and that if the light is still poor in the summer he'll be calling.

Dawn never apologized for her actions. She was sorry we didn't like it, but she would not acknowledge that we had been mislead. We are left with a very bad taste in our mouth.

Is this really the companies idea of good customer care?

Low Cost Sign & Lighting Repair Electrician
We needed to replace the light bulbs on a building sign and make changes to the signages.
Bob, owner of low-cost lighting quoted a great price and made a good recommendation to convert regular light bulbs to LED light bulbs to save energy cost and long last use.  Also, he made a great suggestion to install an auto timer for the LED to lower the cost.
What I like the most about the service is that he has great communication and honesty.
Overall, we are pleased with his services and highly recommend this business to everyone.

Bob is outstanding.  He checked our circuit breakers then I asked about adding an outlet in our  walk-in closet and  another light box in my man cave.  Expecting in gettiing a bid and making another appointment to install .  He said I can do it now which saved us both time  and money.  He was very professional and quick. Doing an awesome job.  His pricing is very fair.  I highly recommend Eagle Electric.

Aces Electrical Services Electrician
I am new to the Port Orchard Area and just by pure luck reached out to Aces for assistance to fix the complete jacked up mess I made trying to replace my own light switches. They were wonderful and did not tease me about my lack of skills and poor knowledge of basic electrical boundaries. THEN I decided to get air conditioning installed, only to find out that the complete panel needed to be upgraded/replaced. I used A&M for the air conditioning and they recommended Aces. I was more than happy to work with them again and was thrilled at what a wonderful and prompt job they did. Very fair price and excellent work. I am going to work with them again to set up my generator that came with this. Scared of the giant monster machine.

Artisan Electric Electrician
Artisan doesn't usually do small jobs like the one we needed, but they were working on a larger project in our building, so agreed to fit us in and scheduled us for the following week. It took just about an hour to troubleshoot and fix the outlet that had mysteriously stopped working in our older building, and the electrician was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable about our old building's system. We didn't receive the bill until a couple of weeks later and it would have been good to get that earlier or just after the work was done, but that doesn't change the 5 stars here. It was a little pricey, but given that they took a tiny job they normally would not have been available for, were easy to work with, and fixed the problem quickly, this was a good value for us.

Daniels Electric Electrician
John recently installed a generator transfer switch at my home.  He did a great job.  Price was as quoted, he was on time and did very nice work.  This job required some discussion about various circuits that we would like powered by the generator.  John listened carefully to what we wanted and helped identify the correct circuits to power.  Highly recommended.  Why deal with the next guy that comes along when you can deal with the owner of the company?

Doug's Electric Electrician
I called because the upper floor of my rental's power wasn't working. After calling several different companies that would take my information and then say they were booked for a month, I called Doug's. Someone picked up the phone right away, talked to me about the issue and then told me that it's PSE issue and to call them. I can't say how happy I am to have gotten the right information, right away. Ethical, responsible and caring. I'd use this company in the future and refer them to friends.

D Square Energy Systems Electrician
We had a streak of bad luck (or bad service) with our natural gas generator.  We started with SME Electrical (see below) and ended with D Square Energy saving the day and a ton of money.

Background/cautionary tale/rant:

Our generator worked fine until this spring when the power went out and it wouldn't start. We had SME Electrical come out in September and they found that the natural gas line was kinked and also said that it needed service. We were SHOCKED when we got the $500 bill. (They also overbilled their hours which they agreed to partially refund.  After much prodding, they sent us a $60 refund check.)

The generator ran the weekly maintenance routine for three weeks and then would not fire up for the following week's maintenance run. I called SME and asked for them to send someone out (free of charge) since we paid them so much money to get it in tip-top shape less than a month prior. They stated that their new minimum was $260 and that would be the fee to send a tech out. I told them that that sounded like the policy of a company who doesn't stand behind their work. After much back and forth, they agreed to send someone out at no cost to troubleshoot. They stated that if the fix was a warranty issue, it would be free. If it was not a warranty issue, then we would have the option to decline service.

The technician thought the battery may be dead. I asked if battery strength would be tested during a $500 routine service. He said probably not (huh?). He didn't have a spare battery, so we pulled one out of our VW to troubleshoot with. It didn't fix the issue. After 2 more hours of phone calls and banging with tools, the technician informed me that the issue is that electricity is flowing to the fuel regulator but the fuel regulator is not making the noise to indicate that it is opening. He claims that the tech that serviced it DID perform this test (but didn't check something as basic as battery strength?) and documented that the fuel regulator was working well when serviced (this is questionable to me considering they don't even check the battery) and therefore is not a warranty issue. (Surprise, surprise!)

We asked neighbors via Nextdoor.com for suggestions and they recommended D Square Energy.  They came out today and fixed the generator in 45 minutes!  YAY!  :)

The previous company (SME Electrical) had quoted an additional ~$700+ to replace the fuel regulator.  The cause of the problem was NOT a faulty fuel regulator as SME said, it was a dirty carburetor that needed to be cleaned.  Simple fix and no parts required!

I highly recommend D Square and will use them again in the future for all of our generator related needs.

McCarthy Electric and Technologies Electrician
The staff at McCarthy Electric & Technologies is top notch! From the first phone call, I was treated with such professionalism and courtesy that I almost forgot I was in 2023 where those things are hard to come by. They were prompt, highly skilled and easy to work with. I will be recommending MET to any who is seeking an electrician.

Keithly Electric Electrician
Their customer service has gone down hill.

Such a frustrating customer service experience. I had previously used Keithly and was happy with the quality of work and the technicians. However, the last two times I have tried to get a bid I've had a terrible experience. Most recently, I contacted them for a semi-emergency job. Their service model is that a customer service rep takes your information and then a project manager returns your call. This leaves the customer without ANY information about when a technician is available and whether it is possible to be seen quickly. It took four days for the project manager to even return my call so that I could find out when they are available. All the while, there is absolutely no electricity in half my home and a possible live wire in the wall.

Out of the other four companies I called, Keithly was the only one with this model. The other businesses I spoke with were able to quote wait times and schedules. I finally booked an appointment with someone else, since I was able to talk to a scheduler right away.

I will not be using Keithly in the future. I have some big needs in my home, and I have no desire to be placed in the black hole waiting for someone to get around to calling me back.

Ahearn Electric Electrician
We hired Ahearn to install additional outlets in our old house, which had unsafe electrical work in the kitchen and zero outlets in one bathroom. Chris and an apprentice converted old outlets to GFCI outlets in the kitchen and laundry room and created an entirely new outlet in the bathroom, the new new wiring for which involved Chris crawling around in wastewater from a plumbing leak we didn't know about (old houses are fun like that). Chris was a good sport about the plumbing issue and returned to finish the work after that was repaired and cleaned up.

I'd give more stars except for 2 things: 1) at some point when entering or leaving our yard on day 1, Chris and the apprentice broke our (admittedly crappy) gate and left a human-size gap in the planks. Had they told me at the time, I would have understood, because like I said, the gate is old and easily broken. But I only discovered it after they left, and having a missing plank was a security risk that I would have liked to know about sooner so I could fix it during the day. 2) After the job was finished, I found a thin metal rod sticking up out of the bathroom floor, flush with the wall...I imagine it's related to the outlet installation, but it was never explained to me during the process and I'll just have to hide it with a trash can or something.

Overall, communication was less than idea. I'm not sure we'll hire Ahearn again, but we do need our knob-and-tube wiring removed, and they do that, so...*shrug emoji*.

West Seattle Electric and Solar Electrician
I met with Ryan in September about a service upgrade, he was clearly an expert, we ballparked a price, agreed that the work would happen in January, and that one of his team would get back to me with a more concrete quote. Six weeks later, I hadn't heard a thing. I contacted them multiple times, didn't get any replies. Considering how long lead times are these days, this company wasted months of my time: now the work might get done in the spring.
