CTX Plumbing & Electrical Plumbing Service
Positive: quick. I called when our water main was shut off as a result of a PVC fitting breaking in the irrigation system. Being new to the area, I called several plumbers and CTX answered and agreed to come out that day. They arrived earlier than the timeframe expected, and the job took them 30 minutes or less to complete.

Negative: I received several return calls from plumbers who could have showed up later, but I waved them off as CTX answered first. When they arrived and looked at the damage, the price tag was $350. After continuing to receive plumbing calls, it sounds like this was significantly more than I would have payed had I waited a bit and asked about prices (in fact I send a photo of the broken fitting to one of the return calls and the rate was going to be significantly cheaper - although to be fair, that is easy to say after the fact).

Bottom line, very quick and courteous/friendly service, but the price was more than I should have paid. When I first heard the number, I was a bit shocked, but agreed to pay since they showed up. I will likely shop around a bit more (or exercise some patience) next time. To be fair, I'll attempt to upload a photo of the before/after work in case I am way off base.

Great service and very honest company! I just had them come out today to check leaky toilets and Dexter came out and adjust the chain then told me honestly that the components are still good and all I need was a simple adjustment.  In my opinion one of the good guys for plumbing needs, will definitely request their services in the future.

Arty's Plumbing Plumbing Service
So about a month ago, one afternoon I walked out into my garage and saw a rather sizable puddle of water in the middle of the floor.  Huh??  I looked around (why, I don't know).  Then I looked up.  Oh f@#k!  I ran upstairs and opened the door to the attic space where the water heaters and one of the hvac systems is located and there it was - water coming out of a small hole in a pipe by one of the water heaters.  Water was shooting out horizontally, hitting a wall, and running downward - through the ceiling of my garage.  I tried to turn off the water supply to the water heater, but nothing happened.  Panic!

Anyway, I didn't have a plumber that I liked (I deal with almost all the tradespeople who have to come to our house - poor things - and I decide who will come back).  I'd tried about three since we moved here, but none of them screamed 'I want to be your regular plumber'.  So I called my regular HVAC company and asked them to recommend someone and they gave me the number for Arty's Plumbing.  I called Arty's and explained my problem to the person who answered and guess what?  He actually sounded concerned about my emergency and said someone would be there within an hour.  In less than an hour, Frank arrived, assessed the problem, turned off the water to the water heaters and to the house and proceeded to repair the leak.  From the time I found the puddle in the garage to the time the problem was fixed was less than three hours, and that included Frank having to make a trip for a piece of hardware.

AND, the cost was very reasonable (I thought).  When he handed me the bill, I couldn't believe it was so low.  And Frank was very nice.  He also either didn't make a mess or he cleaned up after he was done.  Either way, there was no mess for me to deal with.

AND after all this, the worst thing we have is a water stain on the garage ceiling.  My car (that was just washed that morning for the first time in a couple months) didn't even get dripped on.  Now how lucky is that?!

Anyway, they don't know it yet, but Arty's Plumbing is now my regular plumber.  I sure hope they don't scare easily...

Peradventure Plumbing Plumbing Service
As all the other yelp reviews have mentioned.  Superb, excellent, professional are only the few words to describe Nathaniel and his service.  He went way beyond what was expected. Explained things so well and made it simple to understand, which I extremely appreciate being a 'woman' and single mom. Thank you so much!  I am going to be a lifetime customer and will refer you all to all my friends and family.

(Slightly After Brunch)

It was at this most August point in Earth's history that the first amphibious creatures to evolve reached out with their stubby, scaly paws, and with deliberate steps, crawled out of the water and into the glorious sun.  No longer confined to the reeking pools of the fetid swamps, they were now free!  Free to roam the banks of slippery mud and begin their dominion of this new, uncharted world!  They were the pioneers of the new future, a new world order that would span the millennia.

And it was about three whole seconds later that they realized what a colossal #$@&!@ mistake they had made.

The problem was quite simple.  Land, by definition, was not water.  Land was here, under their feet, but the water was now inconveniently over there, and the further into the land you went, the more distant the water became.  And since water remained essential to staying not-dead, this meant that the more involved you became with land, the more work you had to perform in order to get water.

For the first amphibians, this meant hoofing it over miles of jungle, dodging 8-foot cockroaches and whatever other nightmares mother nature had just cooked up, all for the simple sake of getting a drink and live to see another day of roach-dodging.  Worse still, having kids required more water and an extended honeymoon at any one of a million watering holes that quickly became known as Predator Heaven or  Prey Hell (today known as Club Med).

For millions of years, this was de rigueur for all the life that walked or crawled or slithered on this earth.

It was a serious bummer.

Then, around 245 MYA, the dinosaurs appeared.  These newer models were special because of their revolutionary approach to the egg.  Instead of dumping an egg in water and praying for the best as the roaches charged, these guys encapsulated the water INSIDE the shell of the egg.  Mothers around the world were free to fire at will as they pleased, the nearest pond and its minions of death be damned.

It was the world's first attempt at plumbing.

Sadly, it was about the most successful nature was able to devise until homo sapiens appeared.  It was the Romans who most famously tackled the problem of moving water from where it was to where people wanted it to be - mainly, in their bathtubs.  Because nature had forgotten about body odor during the leap to land, too.

It wasn't long before the Romans invented indoor plumbing and health spas proliferated across the world of the ancients like Starbucks hitting virgin territory.  For the first time, life did not have to bust its hump for a dip in lavender bubbles and a good loofah scrub.

Unfortunately, the new technology was entirely based on pipes made out of lead, and the history of plumbing pretty much went downhill from that point on.

Perhaps it was an affectation of the lead coursing happily through their veins, but humanity bought into the whole indoor plumbing concept and added to it exponentially.  Baths became showers, showers became multi-headed, holes over the inlaw's room became toilets, and we all completely forgot how the whole thing worked.

As the opportunities for profit grew in this ecological niche, a new breed of specialists with low-hanging jeans quickly evolved to pick up the slack and make a quick buck.  And many of them made more than just a quick buck or two.  For the unwary ex-amphibian caught in the clutches of a wrench-wielding roach named Bob, a $2 leak in a shower could easily become a $15K home-improvement odyssey through the depths of hell.  And as quickly as the damage was done, Bob and his ilk would scurry back into the underbrush to hide under logs and leaf litter to await the next sucker to call out for a water heater installation.

Ever since, it's been a hard job to sort out the roaches from the saints.

Happily, Speake's is one of the few saints on the block.  And what miracles they perform!  They arrive, when they say they will arrive.  Their arrival window can be as little as 2 hours.  They know what they're doing, and do it very quickly.  They are very free and open with advice and options, but don't push a hard sell.  And they go the extra mile to make sure everything is done right.

My parents had a leak in their shower.  $15K was the estimate to rip it out & replace.  But Speake's diagnosed a potential seal leak over the phone and talked them through the fix.  About $50 and some elbow grease was all they needed.  They did it themselves & hired Speake's to install a set of water heaters.  On that basis, we had Speake's install our new heater.  It wasn't cheap, but they used quality materials you don't get from Home Depot.  Better yet, they installed a catch-pan for the water and the release pipe (which went through the wall), gratis.  Speake's gets my highest recommendation

I chose Benton plumbing because of there 5 star rating. Yes this company definitely deserves to be at the top. They weren't the first place I called. But from the moment you answered my call I was impressed. The lady listened to my problem and she was able to dispatch Ray to come out. He arrived on time and came prepared to take care of my issues. Five star for sure.

The Plumber Plumbing Service
Our kitchen floor had felt warm for several weeks, then one Saturday we came home and found water slowly coming up around the cabinets.  We called another plumbing company but they couldn't come out until that next Tuesday.  That company, however, gave us The Plumber's info, and Curt (the owner) himself was out at our house within a couple hours. He thoroughly investigated and found that we had a hot water Slab Leak...  He was very personable and professional, took the time to explain everything to us, gave us a flat price to fix it (which was better than we had feared), and started to work right then.  He fixed our leaking pipe, (buried four feet below), and only had to break  ONE 17 Travertine tile to fix it!  Amazing!!!  He protected our property with plastic sheeting while he worked, and did a great job cleaning up as well.  He was Fast, Fair, and a very good plumber.  Highly Recommended!

Icon Plumbing Plumbing Service
Because my hot water was warm at best, I assumed the problem was my 12 year old water heater. The Home Depot plumbing contractor suggested I may also have a slab leak based on information I gave him and they do not repair slab leaks. I called Icon plumbing. Travis confirmed that I had a slab leak on the hot water side. He also said that they do not usually have to jackhammer the floors, saving my beautiful wood floors. They repair the leak and run a new line through the attic. They repaired the leak located behind the wall of my washing machine and ran a new line, through the attic, from the leak to my water heater.

The bottom line was my floors were not jack hammered and after leak was repaired, my water heater did not have to be replaced (saving money). The only repair I had was 4 sheetrock hole repairs which is much cheaper than repairing floors. Icon plumbers Travis and Joe are great guys. They were respectful of my home and left the work spaces very clean.

Addendum-I was quoted over $4000.00 including water heater replacement from another company. Icon plumbing made repairs for less than $3000.00 without water heater replace or wood floor repair. My last slab leak was in my master bath. The home warranty plumber jackhammered the floors and charged $3800.00. Plus I had to repair my bath floors. The home warranty company would NOT cover costs and I immediately dropped them.

Olshan Foundation Repair Plumbing Service
Wouldn't even give them one star but you cant do Zero,  change the name to Old Scam

Interviewed them as well as 6 other companies  For foundation work.

When they showed up they asked if the house had foundation work previously, I said yes and done by their company - here is a copy of our warranty.  Representative says that wasn't our company however they sent our address to their home office and brought up the full job!

Next they told us they wouldn't quote  Unless I signed a hold harmless agreement not covering the previous work. Why would that matter if the previous work wasn't done by their company? I said flat out no and they told me they would price the job but it would be contingent on me signing the document

Their price was the highest,  recommending 30 piers - twice the amount of the rest of the competition.

Beware and do your homework when choosing someone for your foundation- and think twice before choosing these guys

A #1 Air Plumbing Service
I am a DIY'er, but I don't touch anything related to HVAC, electrical, or plumbing problems... I call certified professionals. A#1 replaced all of our smoke detectors last year, so we called them out the other day when our a/c stopped blowing cold air - at 2am. Yes, we called at 2am and they answered like it was 10am. They get 5 stars for being the best all around repair service. Always a 100% professional experience. The staff at A#1 ensures that you have a pleasant experience, from the initial phone call - through the technician's arrival. Mark repaired our a/c and did a fantastic job. I am not a particularly easy customer to deal with (unless there is food involved), but Mark is an expert and handled our service call without any issues. I have no complaints (which is rare).
Now I must add, if you are looking for low prices and discount repair crews - A#1 won't meet that criteria. Not even close. But, for those of you who only want respectful and respectable professionals entering your home and providing quality repairs - call A#1.... literally Any Time.
