Our townhouse heat pump unit had started freezing up and appeared to be leaking refrigerant. Not ideal in late January!

The previous owners had replaced the air handling unit only a few years ago so I wasn't interested in replacing the whole system if it wasn't required. I called 4 HVAC companies to bid. 1 never returned my call, 2 came and looked but wouldn't even give me a bid on replacing only the heat pump unit and not the air handler.

Only Carl & Cardinal took the time to bid me what I wanted and came up with a creative solution to ensure the unit would fit in the existing space.

They were willing to work with me a bit on price and the install went flawlessly. The team was in and out in a matter of hours and were very conscientious in putting down drop-cloths and using booties when in the house.

Got word from a tenant that the shower was stuck on at midnight.  They were able to get the main-water turned off to the house, but I needed to have a solution in the AM.  I called Steve at 6:15am, and he answered right away.  He was at the house by 7am to see what the issue was, went and got parts, and had it done by 10am.  

Great communicated throughout the job.

Could not have asked for a better experience, fastest service possible, and totally reasonable price.

He is now my go-to plumber on the Hill in DC.

(5 stars for the technicians, but I took off a star for a scheduling snafu). Our air conditioner stopped working the other weekend, so I got some estimates through Yelp. This company responded right away, provided an upfront cost estimate and said they could send techs the next day, so I went with them. I was told the repairmen would be at my place between 8:00 a.m. - Noon the next morning.

By noon, when no one had showed up yet, I called and spoke to Sean, and he was honest and admitted that he had forgotten to schedule my job. He then pulled techs off another job and they were at my place within a half hour. I understand that things happen, and I appreciate Sean's honesty, but I still woke up early and waited for more than 4 hours for a technician to show up. I had scheduled for the morning because my house cleaners were coming in the afternoon, and I was really hoping to avoid having the cleaning people and the AC repair folks at my place at the same time. Of course they arrived within minutes of each other and I had 2 repairmen and 3 cleaning people in my two bedroom apartment with no AC. Thankfully everyone involved was very understanding about the situation.

The techs were excellent! They were very friendly, professional and efficient, and were able to diagnose the issue almost immediately. Our AC was working again within about a half hour of their arrival. They also did a full check of the system, replaced the filter and provided recommendations for maintenance and upkeep. It was really reasonable, too. I received a $10 off discount on the visit by booking through Yelp. All in all I was very satisfied with my experience despite the scheduling mix up.

We have used OHA successfully in the past and we are using them again for a new A/C unit. We had an appointment
with Taylor Ross. Taylor was so helpful and knowledgeable I would recommend him to anyone. Great service. Great business.

I want to convey that it was a pleasure working with John Nugent and Sons. We had an urgent issue with our heating system and these guys were really responsive. They came out and provided us with a realistic recommendation without trying to pushing other products.

They gave us appointment and arrived at the scheduled time. They did a very neat installation job and courteously responded to all my queries. They were also very responsive after the installation when we had a minor issue.

We called Bowman's to check our 8 year old AC unit that stopped cooling Wednesday.  Another company was here yesterday and said we needed a new unit.  Within minutes their technician, Wes, identified the problem and was able to fix the problem during the same visit.  We were ecstatic we didn't have to spend thousand.  Appreciate the honesty from Wes and would highly recommend.

We're truly a happy customer. My boyfriend and I had a clogged toilet in our master bathroom. The water over flowed and leaked down into our kitchen. I called Omid Kaveh and he came out as quick as possible. He was very quick. It was a baby wipe stuck in the toilet. He was very fast and very friendly. He also cleaned the floor as well and made sure that the toilet water was running smoothly. He deserves recognition!!!!!!

Cardinal is the best plumbing company around.  They don't use contractors and their people are extremely competent, businesslike, and respond to your needs.  Yesterday morning I called to make an appointment to install a cartridge in a tub shower.  Nick K. came out and had the job done in a snap.  It's now working perfectly. Whenever possible I always try to purchase the part on my own for any home repairs as it saves some money.

My toilet was not flushing properly, and I needed someone to come as soon as possible to remedy the issues. I used Yelp price estimates to find someone, and I was pleasantly surprised to get a response from Reddick & Sons, who said they could come in a few hours. Shon, my technician, contacted me to give me advance warning of when he was coming, and identified the problem as soon as I explained to him the issue. He was able to repair the problem in 15 minutes or less and I couldn't have been happier with the level of service I received! I will definitely use this company again.

I called Plump Right Plumbing later in the day, i thought they wouldn't come over until the next day. Brent came by immediately and stayed until the job was complete.
Since I'm giving up DIY plumbing Plumb Right will be my first call.

Pablo was very responsive from the time I requested a quote on Yelp.  I was remotely managing a refrigerator repair for my father so planning and communication were critical.  Pablo made my job easy and my father is a happy camper.  Highly recommended.

They replaced the broken fuse and fixed the wiring on my Nest Thermostat.
However, they are a little bit expensive. They charged me $264.

Carlos Reed was my Sila technician. He came on time. He was ver efficient. Did everything that was needed. Very nice and professional.

We had Snell install an HVAC system this week and they did a great job. They had to install some new ducts and were even able to run the ducts into the master bedroom, something other places said couldn't be done. Something went wrong with the install (a duct got cut that shouldn't have been or something) causing the work to take much longer than expected. Rather than scheduling a return visit and making us take another day off work, the techs agreed to stay late and finish the job that day. They even sent a bunch of extra people to help out. Thanks Snell for your hard work and dedication to customer service. We will definitely call you back for any other heating/air work we need!

We had a very odd experience with this company after they were recommended to us by a chimney sweeper to come make some repairs to our gas fireplace. The tech who arrived was friendly and spent a good deal of time trying to diagnose our incomplete combustion issue, and cleaning the ceramic logs. However, he seemed overly confused by the log placement and could not find any information on how to replace the logs, despite returning to his truck and spending almost an hour doing something, I'm not sure what. Eventually he said he would return the following day with a manual.

He never came back or contacted us again (this was now more than a month ago). In the meantime, I decided to look up information on the fireplace based on the serial number we had both found on a metal tag at the back of the unit. It took me about 10 minutes on Google to find the proper manual with step by step instructions for log placement. I'm not sure why the tech struggled so much to do this, and now I wish I had done that Googling while he was here to help him out. I just assumed that as a professional he would already know how to find this information and I should stay out of his way. Clearly, that was incorrect.

Jiffy never billed us for his time so I can't be too upset, but between the lack of basic knowledge of what seems to be a pretty common gas fireplace, and literally never coming back to finish the work despite assuring us that he would, this is definitely not a company I'm going to try working with in the future. It seems like their techs need more training and their office needs more organization.

Our toilet got flooded due to the refrigerator. He agreed to fix our bathroom ceiling with paint and living room ceiling for $600 total. Once he started working he started complaining and started saying its too much work i and I am just helping you we paid him $300 to get the supplies. He messed up our walls and said he never said he will be painting the whole ceiling. This guy was trying to find ways to get more money out. He simply refused him and asked him to leave. We were not going to pay more for the job which is still unfinished and very poor job. Now he started to post my pictures my kid's pictures my house pictures on social media and he has started to harass me and my wife. I would not recommend this person at all. If anything happens to me or my family this guy Edward would be responsible

We have used Real Plumbers for many years. Most recently, we had a major repair to the pipes running under our floor leading to our radiators for heat (1890 house). They coordinated well with the flooring contractor, and all is working fine. They have also replaced a toilet, replumbed the half bathroom and installed a pedestal sink. We also noted the employee mentioned in other reviews. When we told the manager, we did not want him working in our house, they put a note  in our file. We have had only pleasant interactions with the other employees and are glad they are training apprentices to work on 100+ year-old steam radiator systems.
