Randy was amazing. I had no heat and contacted Randy on Monday morning around 8am. He agreed to try to squeeze me in between clients, and managed to come out by noon.  He figured out the problem and fixed it in less than an hour.  Turns out it was something stupid done to my furnace by my last repairman (from another DC company).  Randy also was able to service two gas fireplaces.  The price was great and there were no attempts to up-sell.  I will definitely use these guys for all future HVAC issues.

The short of it...these guys are great! The deets...their service is top notch, they're responsive, professional, knowledgeable and clean. AND their prices are reasonable & affordable. I contacted them on two occasions...one for kitchen blockage, and another time for a replacement of an ac unit. Overall, I have always been very pleased with their work and I cant rave about this company enough.

Thomas E Clark Plumbing Service
owning a home....

or rather, paying off a bank who owns your home while you occupy it, can be expensive.

occupying an older home can be even more expensive.

working so much that you don't have enough time to do the minor repairs yourself, can be expensive.

case in point - my bathroom sink that i have been battling with over the past year. i'd tame the beast, then it would come back at me, and then i'd tame it again. the sink roared back and not being able to take time off from work, i was pretty much forced into calling a plumber to come in on a saturday.

not really an easy thing to do, so i went with Thomas E. Clark.

i scheduled an appointment. a window from 10am - 1pm was set up. i got a call at 10am saying that a plumber would be arriving in 45 minutes. he did just that. he snaked my sink, got it working properly, and didn't leave a mess, all within about an hour. i asked a few questions. he answered them. damn galvanized pipes.

$69.00 service fee
$155.00 for the sink repair

i'm pretty sure i could have gotten someone cheaper, but since it was a saturday - i was pretty much stuck. i'm pretty sure that i could have rented a snake and done the work myself, but i wanted a little professional insight upon the state of my.....    errr, the bank's 60 year old pipes. i got just a little insight.

all in all - they did the job and were completely professional.

the price??????

i don't know?

if you know of a person or company that can do this kind of work on a saturday morning at a better rate, please let me know.

Snell Home Services Plumbing Service
To Charlie H. at Snell:  I can't find a way to provide you the information you requested via Yelp.  If there is an email where I can reach you, I'll be happy to provide information.  UPDATE:  A highly competent SNELL technician, Bogdan Neskorodev, came out Sunday afternoon and identified what appears to be a defect in the furnace  and it is in the process of being repaired.  This was after another company had been willing to come out and get the furnace restarted early Sunday morning.  Though Snell did eventually address the issues,  it has been a challenging process, as noted in my original post.  ORIGINAL POST:  We had a new furnace installed by Snell late summer 2020 and have continued routine maintenance with Snell since that time.  Three weeks ago we had a routine maintenance check and the following weekend, the furnace went out over night.  I called at 6:30 a.m. that Saturday morning (one of the coldest to date) and was told our service window would be between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  I called again at 2 p.m. and was told the tech was running late.  At 4:30 the technician appeared, fiddled with the furnace, asked if we had had a power outage (we had not) and got the furnace going again by 5:30.  Now it is Sunday morning 1 week later and the furnace went out again on the actual coldest night of the year!  I called at 6:30 a.m. this morning and was once again given a service window of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. even though I informed the phone staff both about our lack of heat and the prior servicing.  She said we have lots of people without heat.  This obviously doesn't speak well for their products or their service!  Last week I also left text messages with Snell and was told I would hear back from someone within 4 hours--that never happened.  Yes, I am a very dissatisfied customer.  This furnace cost about $15K and it should function properly.  Snell appears to be strong on sales but weak on product and service.  The final result is that at 7 a.m. this morning I called Climatic who scheduled us within the hour.  We have to pay for the repair but at least we won't be sitting here all day in a frigid house.

Clover Services Plumbing Service
Clover Services was one of very few responses I received (and were extremely quick) to respond to my request for an estimate to repair or most likely replace my elderly father's old boiler system from the 1970's. They arranged for one of their best technicians to evaluate the system as soon as possible and he spent a lot of time analyzing how best to replace and dispose of the the old system.  Their prices were competitive and the total amount was exactly what we expected it would cost to replace.   The company went above and beyond to get the equipment ordered and installed as quickly as possible so my father would have heat in time for the cold weather. This was not an easy job and one that not many companies wanted to attempt - but Clover Services, Ryan and all of their technicians took this job without hesitation and worked hard for two days to get it done. Ryan was extremely professional, communicative and friendly (as was Wendy  in the office) and they made sure I understood the estimate, the timeline and all that the job entailed. They also treated my father and his home with dignity and respect. They did a fantastic job and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!

Cardinal Plumbing Heating & Air Plumbing Service
Anytime I have a HVAC issue I expect an expensive bill. I've typically always found technicians to over-inflate the issue. Not the case with Cardinal HVAC. They found a part to be clogged and dirty causing my heat to not work. Fixed it! Heats been working over 4 weeks later without the usual let's replace your whole unit. Thank You Mike!

I was having an issue with excess condensation on my HVAC unit. Sean came out and did an excellent job. He talked me through all the issues and patiently answered all my questions. I appreciate his professionalism and never felt like he was trying to sell me something I didn't need. Would definitely recommend this company to family and friends.

Drymount Air Plumbing Service
I had a 10 year old gas water heater that gave out after a waterline rupture near my home that caused a loss of water pressure.  Due to the age of the unit, and after a very unsatisfying visit from one of the big name plumbing companies (still waiting to receive their estimate), I took to Yelp on a Sunday evening to get some cost estimates from some of the smaller companies that had positive reviews.  Drymount (along with two others) responded immediately that night and again the next morning by telephone.  While I was not expecting such a fast turnaround, Drymount came to my home at the end of the day and installed the new water heater.  The entire process from the Yelp inquiry to completion of installation was less than 24 hours.  We have had no issues with hot water with the new heater.  Overall, I am totally satisfied with my experience working with Drymount and would recommend them.

Had this company come out again today for an actual issue on my AC unit.  Was surprised to find the same gentleman show up again.  5-star for his professionalism, knowledge and ability to resolve the issue (faster than expected).  Appreciating this company the more I utilize their service.

Made an appointment for Saturday between 8-12pm to fix my pool heater.  11:30am they called to say they had to go an urgent call before me.  4:30pm my husband called to see where they were and was told the call wasn't even dispatched yet.  5:15pm guy shows up and says he doesn't have parts so he can't fix it today.  Way to waste my whole Saturday.

John Nugent & Sons Plumbing Service
We had a fair experience with the HVAC installation, but the follow-up and attention to detail post-installation has been frustrating. We spent a great deal of money to have our HVAC unit replaced, but the install team rushed the electrical connections. As a result, the loose connections caused the lights to flicker in the house after they left. They did come back to repair it, free of charge, but with no apologies or recognition that we had to take additional time off work.

We also took more time off work to wait for the county inspection of our unit. John Nugent & Sons made no effort to call us with an update regarding the time of the inspection, despite us calling them three times that day with repeated promises from their staff that they would call us right back. The county inspection ended up being a no show. The inspector showed up the next day, completely unscheduled or unannounced. The inspector also informed us that we would need a gas inspection too - something we were unaware of and this means yet more time off of work.

John Nugent & Sons seemed more than happy to take our money, but made no effort to value our time or customer experience.

Bowman's Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, & Electrical Plumbing Service
I work for competing HVAC company. I do not know how good they are at HVAC.  I have to say Bowman's had their trucks out plowing snow and they took great care of the roads.  Their team was fantastic.  I have lived on West Redwood Rd in Sterling 14 years and I have never seen anyone plow our street so well.  I really appreciate what wonderful job they did.

Magnolia Plumbing Heating & Cooling Plumbing Service
**Retraction**  Well, two days ago I placed a review on yelp bashing Magnolia for the work they did in my home. Within those two days, Tony a manager with the company made sure that I was taken care of from the incident. He called me several times to try to work out a deal because he knew that I was devastated from the incident. I was extremely surprised by his action. I have never dealt with a company that gave such a personal touch to customers. To be honest, I was I done with Magnolia once this happened but the aftermath greatly changed my mind . Currently, I am using them to finish the work and I am extremely happy about this descision.

Real Plumbers® Plumbing Service
They should change their name to Real Shysters.  I bought a brand new GE water heater from Home Depot and had it professionally installed, but it didn't work.  So I called GE and they said that they need to send one of their GE certified companies to my house to take a look.  They said the closest company to my house is a company called Real Plumbers so they sent the service request to them.  When I called Real Plumbers to schedule it, the guy over the phone was trying to tell me that GE is not going to pay for anything if the installation was done wrong and that they would charge me for the visit.  I told him that we don't know what the problem is yet with the water heater but without even seeing it and not knowing what the problem is he kept on insisting that the installation was done wrong and that I need to agree to a $129 diagnosis fee.  I then put him on hold and called GE on the other line.  GE told me to get him on the line and they told him directly not to charge me anything and that they would pay for the visit.   Then when their technician came to diagnose the water heater, he kept on telling me that I need to give him a check for the visit and that GE would not cover it.  I told him that I will call GE again to make sure but he told me not to call them because it's a waste of time and that they're not going to pay for anything.  So I called GE anyway and again they agreed to pay for the visit and anything that's wrong with the water heater.  By now both the guy over the phone and the tech that came out were relentlessly trying to get me to pay them directly for the visit.  So moving on the tech claimed that I need two heating elements and said that he has the parts in his truck so I told him to go ahead and replace them.  He told me that it would cost over $300 and that I need to pay for it because GE will not cover the parts and labor.  And again I called GE and again they said that they would in fact pay for it and I passed the phone over to the tech so they can tell him directly.

The next morning I still didn't have any hot water.  I called Real Plumbers and the guy over the phone was extremely rude and told me to call GE and that it wasn't their problem.  He said as long as the water is warm, they did their job and they didn't care if the water is not even hot enough to take a shower.  Basically when they realized that they couldn't rip me off, they decided not to help me out anymore.

Overpriced is not a strong enough word for this company. $3700 for a 50 gallon gas water heater? You can seriously try and explain why that is a good deal? Come on. I haggled them down to a grand since they were there. Be an educated consumer before calling this company. All their media advertisements have to get paid somehow.
