Best Electric Repair in Washington DC
I just moved into a new house and a couple appliances in the house kept blowing the fuse box. An electrician from Reddick & Sons came over and did a fantastic job identifying the issues and resolving the problems. The receptionist I spoke with was warm and efficient in communicating the key information; the electrician who came to fix my fuse box was punctual, professional, and efficient. I will definitely go back to this company for future electrical problems or needs in the house. Highly recommend

Very good company, I've used them before couple times. Quick to respond to texts, show up on time, do a good job, a little pricey I think, but it's done right.

The first day he was supposed to show up, he didn't, which I brushed off because he called and said he was down a man and would need to come on a Saturday. On Saturday, he showed up when he wanted to. He seemed pretty beat up, maybe very hung over, but I brushed that off cause he seemed nice enough, and hey, it was Saturday. He couldn't fix the unit that day, as he said he was missing some tools and needed another guy. He then said he'd show the next day, but then delayed again, which again was brushed off because it was Sunday and he needed to spend time with his gf, I could get that. So, when he would show up, he seemed to have no knowledge of a mini split system, and from his first visit, the situation just got worse. I gave that a pass because I don't expect people to know everything, but, he assured me that the work would be completed by today (Friday), because I kept telling him have people visiting and have a hard deadline. He said someone would be here yesterday, and he took my condensate pump to return for warranty the day before, which I assumed would offset costs for a new pump for me. But, nobody showed, no word, he didn't answer calls or texts even though he said someone would come yesterday and kept assuring me this would be done before I had people here, and worst part about it is he took my pump! It seems like he just decided not to come back and just get the pump return for warranty. It's very sketchy. Anyways, all in all, just pretty unreliable and can't really trust what he says in terms of scheduling. I'm also much worst off now than before I even called him. The unit did have a slight intermittent leak before, but at least it worked some, whereas now I have to try to fix it myself and have to go try and find a new condensate pump to install. All in all a terrible experience, he seems to be full of excuses, and I had to take time off of work just to put myself in a much worse situation.

Quick and accommodating. Recognized issues and new how to resolve them. Great value.

Provided okay service. Beware, if you sign up for a maintenance plan, it's attached to the property - no refunds and no transfers.

I have heard of companies using PR firms who pay people to give the company a good review and I am thinking that is what has happened here as that is the only plausible explanation for so many good reviews that were totally opposite of our experience with this company. First of all let me say that my husband is a contractor so we are fairly reasonable and patient when it comes to dealing with contractors. We called Snell as our air conditioning unit would not hold a charge so we knew we had a leak or other issue. They scheduled an appointment for 9am to 1pm on Wednesday, May 22nd. My husband took off work that morning to meet the contractor. At 1pm they called and said the technician was running a little late and would be there within the hour. Okay, at least they called. When 3:30 rolled around and he still had not arrived, I called (no one called us) and spoke to a very unapologetic representative who said the technician would be there shortly. He arrived around 4:00. Had we known, my husband could have worked in the morning (actually he could have put in almost a full day!). The technician did a thorough test of the system and said we would need a new evaporator coil. My husband told him we would discuss that evening and call them to schedule the repair. On Friday, May 24th I called to schedule the repair. The representative told me she needed to talk to someone to find out if they had the part or had to get the part and someone would call me back to schedule. I waited for a return call, but nothing that day, or Monday (Memorial Day so that is understandable), or Tuesday......finally I called them back on Wednesday and it was as if I was calling them for the first time. Again I was told someone would call me back, but nothing. Thursday I called again and after explaining our situation, the person scheduled the repair for Monday, June 3rd starting between 8 and 9am. She said if by chance the part did not arrive in time they would call to reschedule. Sunday evening we received a call confirming our appt. Monday AM (again taking off work for the repair) we waited........at 9:30 I called and was told they needed to check with dispatch. We received a return call a half hour later and was told that they did not have the part! More unnecessary time off of work and continued poor customer service. The representative told me she would check on when the part was to arrive and would call me back that afternoon - - I confirmed that we should expect a call that day. That was June 3rd and as of today (June 23rd) I am STILL waiting for that return call. We, of course, had the repair done by another company (U.S. Appliance Tech) who did the repair timely and for over $300 less! If you are thinking of using Snell for your A/C needs, I suggest you run (don't walk) to another contractor (maybe US Appliance Tech!).

Jack is great. Super considerate and listened to me about the leak problem. He didn't dismiss me or try one fix to show an attempt. He checked everything to make sure the leak was fixed. He cleaned up the site. He wore his the entire time. Jack was knowledgeable about fixing leaks and other plumbing tasks. I'll request him if we have any other plumbing requests.

So I hired this company to estimate changing all the pipes in my home before I moved in 2018 Jan. They charged me $39 something for just inspection and estimate. Okay. Then the plumber called me with a quote of $11000 and also told me my water heater is cold and dying. I laughed off and hired another licensed professional. Other company changed the pipes of my entire house for $5500 and said water heater is good. Fast forward to 2021, water heater is still working like a champ with $0 maintenance. Avoid them for large and planned jobs.
Update: They are saying I am not in their system so adding copies of bogus estimates which they gave me. While water heater is still working.

The technicians did a great job repairing my pinhole leak in my copper pipe. They were fast, very courteous, and prompt. I asked many questions and they patiently responded. Heil Plumbing has gained a new customer.

Responsive and clear communication, professional service, competitive pricing. They installed 2 new toilets, removed the old ones removed, fixed a gasket on my dryer, and adjusted the tub drain. Great experience and highly recommend.

Received four quotes for three major home projects: A complete master bathroom remodel, a new deck, and replacement of a drop ceiling with sheetrock and repair of a water-damaged wall in a guest bedroom.
The first three quotes were from high end remodelers. A friend recommended Allen Geoffrey's Handyman Services to us (she had just had her bathroom remodeled). Geoff and his crew (Mark and Brian) came out to survey the jobs. They spent more time with me going over what work we wanted and what our major concerns were. They suggested a comprehensive plan of attack from top to bottom. We were consulted at every step of each of the projects to ensure that our expectations and design elements were incorporated.
Their price quote came in thousands (yes, thousands) of dollars less than the three previous quotes. While they don't provide the design assistance of the high end contractors, they met us at a big box contractor store and helped us color-coordinate our design interests. They took care of ordering all the various pieces parts needed and got us a significant discount on materials.
First, they replaced the deck to install flashing (that the previous home owner neglected to do), that led to the water damage in the guest bedroom. The deck was brought up to code and revealed serious problems with the previous deck installation.
After the deck was done, the crew split off into two teams, one working on the master bathroom, the other, working on the guest bedroom.
The crew took care of hauling off all old materials and cleaned up after each day. The work was first-rate.
As with any major home project, unexpected/unforeseen problems arise. While removing the water-damaged sheetrock in the guest bedroom, major water damage was discovered to the exterior wall. Geoff gave me a very reasonable labor estimate to repair the wall. That wall is now the strongest in the house.
They show up when expected, every day, until the job is done. They go beyond what is expected to ensure that the client is happy with the direction the project is headed.
I highly recommend these master plumbers. I guess my highest endorsement is that, when our kitchen cabinets come in, Geoff and his crew will be doing our complete kitchen remodel (again, coming in thousands of dollars less than the high-end contractors). If you need any work done to your home, give them a call. They will not disappoint you.
And, Geoff, Mark, & Brian, our new master bathroom looks and functions beyond our expectations. Thank you!

Bought a house with a pretty old looking gas fireplace. I was just hoping the lines worked - I figured I would need a new insert. I called Drain Works and they explained their process very well. The tech came out and got the fireplace working pretty quickly and showed me how to work the remote I didn't even know went to the fireplace. They explained how to the pilot and all other things on the set worked. They explained their refurbishment service with no pressure to purchase. I went with their refurbishment service and the fireplace set looks brand new! A great value in my opinion.
I highly recommend Drain Works.

We are in the midst of remodeling an office space. We have plumbing fixtures that we were not going to use for the business at all. DJ came out gave us an estimate of the work we needed to be done. He was prompt and very professional. He gave us options on what we could do to save us money. Which was a bonus for us since we are a new business trying to get up and running and on a tight budget. DJ came out the next day and did an excellent job on the plumbing work that we needed done. We would definitely use him again and would recommend him to our friends and family.

Mr. Taylor has been assisting my family for years. He has helped us with everything from disastrous plumbing issues to minor fixes. He goes above and beyond every time and makes sure you understand the work he's doing. He is truly an expert at what he does. We're grateful for him. Highly recommend!

My water heater died and I had gotten 2 previous estimates before calling Ehrhardt Brothers. Katherine was my first contact and she was friendly, professional and empathetic that I had not had hot water in several days. They were able to work up an estimate after I sent a couple of pictures. Tracy who called with estimate was also very nice and explained everything and was able to answer all my questions. I immediately accepted their estimate which was in line with another estimate I had gotten. I lucked out because of a cancellation that afternoon. Vince showed up in less than an hour and did a wonderful job installing my new water heater. He was personable, polite, professional and efficient. He also answered any questions I had about the new water heater and gave me some good advice.
I went with this company because they are a local family owned business which I like to support vs these large national companies. The great reviews also influenced me heavily. Most of all, after my initial call, I was so impressed with the friendliness and great customer service I received by everyone I spoke to within the company. This is a company that really cares about its customers which is rare. Will be using them for all my future plumbing needs. They made this a good experience for me in a bad situation. I wish I had called them first instead of wasting time getting estimates from these other companies. Thank you Ehrhardt Brothers for your outstanding service.

I was away on business when the A.C. went out. My wife has asthma and I needed the A.C. repaired right the first time and quickly. Clover, who installed my system, was able to get a tech out and fix the issue in less than 24 hours. Santos was able to diagnose and fix the issue for us and I appreciated his focus on customer satisfaction. Thanks!
