Best Electric Water Heater Inst… in Washington DC
I cant speak for everyone at this company, but I met Alex today and he was amazing! He came by today for a quote (I literally called them late this morning and someone was out 30 minutes into the time window) and spent time diligently inspecting all aspects of my electrical problem. He explained to me what the problem was, which was simple a fix, and didn't even charge me. Any other electrician would have told me they needed to fix it and could have easily fleeced me for several hundred dollars. After this experience I now have my go-to electrician saved in my phone!

Have used them a couple times for a garbage disposal replacement and hot water replacement after the old one died/leaked. I don't know if they're the cheapest, but they were communicative, fast, and did a good job. Would use again.

The owner and the techs were great. They have a great response time, are communicative, friendly, very respectful, and are all around professionals.
I have used a few companies in this industry over the past year and Drymount Air is by far the best of them.
Highly recommend!

Quick and accommodating. Recognized issues and new how to resolve them. Great value.

I just had them come in for routine maintenance on one AC unit, and to fix a freezing coil issue with another one. They get A+ for customer service-- polished/professional, both before and during the visit. I canceled once on short notice and they were ok with it. Also, the technician explained things well.
They did well doing annual checkup on the unit that wasn't broken.
Not happy with how they handled the one that was accumulating ice on the coil. I feel I overpaid. I was charged $175 per pound to add refrigerant, as some had been lost due to a leak somewhere. I later found out that this unit takes older kind (R22) that has gotten more expensive, but still the quote was very high. He said he charged me for one less pound than he used, but that's still a very high mark up. Especially because that was just the cost of the refrigerant, not like he needed to charge for showing up or for labor, because I paid $100 separately for diagnosis of that unit.
I would still give them a four star, but...it didn't seem to me he made any attempt to locate the leak. He said I would have to pay for a new visit, as he didn't bring the ink he needs to mix in with the refrigerant, so they can see where the leak is. Knowing the symptoms I expect them to show up with whatever they might need.
They did give me a $100 discount overall (after I asked, just before paying), so now I want to change the rating to 3.5, but overall, I have a bad taste in my mouth.

I started this review in October of 2014, but never finished it just in case the concerns that their technician raised turned out to be true. We asked Snell to come out to our home for a routine check on our heat after purchasing the house a month earlier. During our purchase of the house, we had our boiler inspected and no issues were raised.
We were recommended to use Snell by our realtor, so I called them with relatively high hopes. The technician for Snell-- Vince Lavery-- however told us that the boiler was leaking carbon monoxide and that it was unsafe and needed to be replaced immediately. He said that the replacement would costs would be at least $8,000 dollars and he would give us an estimate in the next day or two. He refused to show me the CO reading when I asked him about, but he was sure to point out other issues that he thought needed to be repaired in the home (going so far as to assert that a heat vent was not in line with Fairfax County / Virginia code). Vince Lavery was neither reassuring nor did he try to explain any of the rationale for his conclusions. For me, his behavior was unprofessional and reeked of someone trying to take advantage of a new and perhaps naive new homeowner. He charged me nearly 100 dollars for his assessment.
My initial assessment was reinforced soon after. As a lawyer, I looked up both Fairfax and Virginia code regulations that he said our house was in violation--- he was completely wrong. I then had separate HVAC companies come out for a second opinion. They both called Vince Lavery's assessment flat out wrong, as they showed by the CO levels on the HVAC were fine. Vince Lavery and Snell never followed up with me. Two years (and two winters) later we still have had no issues with the boiler or the heat. To this date, I'm not sure what was motivating Vince Lavery-- ignorance or attempting to rip me off (if he was trying to rip me off, he would have been smarter telling me I needed one or two parts replaced-- not try to sell me on replacing the entire boiler). Regardless, I don't trust Snell or at the very least Vince Lavery; he doesn't know what he's doing. I wouldn't let him into my house if you do hire Snell. ****
Snell responded that I need to be vigilant with my HVAC system. I completely agree-- that's why I had their assessment double checked immediately. Both second opinions disagreed with Snell. What's strange is that Snell wasn't equally vigilant? They made an assessment that my boiler was leaking CO, but decided it wasn't worth following up with the customer on how it could be fixed. Also interesting in their response is they use extra sensitive CO readers. I have no idea if that's true, other than to say that two far higher rated companies and an assessor's readers found the CO levels normal. But even if that's true-- that their readers are somehow are more sensitive--the company appears to be engaged in fraud by calibrating their instruments to detect problems when none exist. This is as close as a consumer will ever get to having a company admit fault-- thank you Snell.

Showed up quickly for emergency flooded basement with deep water. Issue was handled competently and with good humor by JT .

We needed our washing machine drain snaked and they were able to squeeze us in very quickly upon calling late on a Friday night for a Monday service. I liked that their window was only 2 hours and they sent email and text notifications. They were very professional, efficient, reasonably priced and easy to work with. We would use them again.

We've used them twice, and had two good experiences. Both times Nick was our technician; we had a clogged toilet (don't flush baby wipes, even if they say they're flushable!) and an issue with our kitchen sink drain. We were able to get an appointment quickly, they showed up within the window, gave us an accurate (and fair) estimate, and did a great job with the work.

Responsive and clear communication, professional service, competitive pricing. They installed 2 new toilets, removed the old ones removed, fixed a gasket on my dryer, and adjusted the tub drain. Great experience and highly recommend.

Received four quotes for three major home projects: A complete master bathroom remodel, a new deck, and replacement of a drop ceiling with sheetrock and repair of a water-damaged wall in a guest bedroom.
The first three quotes were from high end remodelers. A friend recommended Allen Geoffrey's Handyman Services to us (she had just had her bathroom remodeled). Geoff and his crew (Mark and Brian) came out to survey the jobs. They spent more time with me going over what work we wanted and what our major concerns were. They suggested a comprehensive plan of attack from top to bottom. We were consulted at every step of each of the projects to ensure that our expectations and design elements were incorporated.
Their price quote came in thousands (yes, thousands) of dollars less than the three previous quotes. While they don't provide the design assistance of the high end contractors, they met us at a big box contractor store and helped us color-coordinate our design interests. They took care of ordering all the various pieces parts needed and got us a significant discount on materials.
First, they replaced the deck to install flashing (that the previous home owner neglected to do), that led to the water damage in the guest bedroom. The deck was brought up to code and revealed serious problems with the previous deck installation.
After the deck was done, the crew split off into two teams, one working on the master bathroom, the other, working on the guest bedroom.
The crew took care of hauling off all old materials and cleaned up after each day. The work was first-rate.
As with any major home project, unexpected/unforeseen problems arise. While removing the water-damaged sheetrock in the guest bedroom, major water damage was discovered to the exterior wall. Geoff gave me a very reasonable labor estimate to repair the wall. That wall is now the strongest in the house.
They show up when expected, every day, until the job is done. They go beyond what is expected to ensure that the client is happy with the direction the project is headed.
I highly recommend these master plumbers. I guess my highest endorsement is that, when our kitchen cabinets come in, Geoff and his crew will be doing our complete kitchen remodel (again, coming in thousands of dollars less than the high-end contractors). If you need any work done to your home, give them a call. They will not disappoint you.
And, Geoff, Mark, & Brian, our new master bathroom looks and functions beyond our expectations. Thank you!

Had a problem with a Rheem water heater. Called another vendor, supposedly certified to work on Rheem water heaters, but they were not able to solve the problem and get to the bottom of the issue.
Asked Drain Works to take a look at the water heater. The plumber took his time, systematically worked through the system, and found an extremely small filter that was clogged. After cleaning this out, the water heater (and I) were very happy again.
Had Drain Works do work previously, and found they had the same methodical, careful, and systematic approach that they used on the water heater. For any issues in the future - will definitely call them again.
