This is a review about an employee named Dan Tran. On Friday April 27th, I got a call from my husband while at work about a possible water leak at my house. An hour later I got home and after seeing video footage on my I-doorbell I noticed a service champion van at my neighbors house across the street. I walked over and spoke to Dan Tran who was servicing their home & he saw a water hose explode on my front lawn and took the liberty to go over and shut the water off. I thanked Dan for doing such a nice act of service. Good deeds never go un-noticed. Thanks Dan!

Service so good i paid out of pocket for them to service my new apt!

They did more than fix the toilet.

I had an 8 AM appointment and no one even contacted me until 8:20 AM. The person wanted to know why I did not answer the door. I told him because there was no one at my door. They were obviously at the wrong address.  So they were late and at the wrong address so I told them I did not want them to bother coming. Never received an apology from the owners or a manager. Obviously an incompetent company.

The response from the company is not accurate . There was no one hour window given to me. As s matter of fact I received a text at 7:41am that s technician was on his way for the 8:00am appointment. Secondly, the technician never arrived at my address. He had the correct address but he was not at my address. I was at my address. He went to a different property. Why would I make that up?  I also left two voicemails with the company and neither was returned. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

Orange Coast Plumbing bailed me out again as they have a few times before even when one of the technicians had to cancel on a follow up call the new guy was just as professional and understood how the job sort of mushroomed into more problems (as they usually do ) but I was able to get it for the same price I was quoted by the first tech
I won't hesitate to call them again or recommend them to my friends

John and his workers  ( their name Sal and Jorge ) really did a good job and neat. They arrived on time and mostly early than my appointment. They fixed leaking in my bathroom and repainting whole bathroom. I'm very satisfied with the results and my bathroom look new now.

I highly recommend them to you if your house have issue with plumbing , leaking, and etc. They always give the best service.

We had a leak in our garage that was coming from our 30+ year old water filtering system that was no longer working. We called Coast Plumbing 1st thing Tuesday morning and a tech arrived promptly later that same morning. We requested an estimate to disconnect the water filtering system and reconnect the main water line. After I approved the estimate, the tech disconnected the water filtering system and closed the mainline with copper pipe. The tech tested for leaks and hauled away the water filtering system. I also asked for an estimate on replacing the corroded hose bibs in the laundry room. The tech gave me an estimate and I approved it. He was not able to disconnect the cold water hose bib from the hose due to the corrosion and he had to leave to get additional parts and a replacement hose. He was back in less than an hour, completed the work and tested for leaks. All of the work was completed successfully and we now have new hose bibs with a 1/4 turn lever which is much easier to open and close.
The tech was prompt, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We are very happy with the work that was done and will definitely use Coast Plumbing for any future plumbing repairs.

Always a good experience. Great follow up and follow through even if it's just an annual check up on our heater and air conditioner.

I had an unused under-the-sink shutoff valve go bad and it began to slowly leak, so we had a plumber come out to replace the valve. This is something I would normally tackle on my own, however, our domestic water connection supplies two attached units/neighbors and I did not want to have them go without water for an extended period of time in case I needed to make an extra trip to the parts store during the replacement.

I was out of town during the time of the install and my wife was home during the service. She watched the clock and noted that the job took about 15 minutes start to finish - let's call it 20 minutes max to be generous/safe. When I came home, the valve was replaced with a new one and everything appeared to be dry.

Here's where the issues begin for me. I reviewed the invoice to find that the fee is $152.66 for this repair. Wow, that's awfully steep for a 20minute (max) job. I decide to give the plumber the benefit of the doubt and review the invoice to see where this fee came from - how much time did he say he spent, how much was the part, etc.

While the paper invoice has a dedicated section to Time Detail, there is no information filled into the boxes about start time, stop time, or time spent. There is no information about the cost of the replacement part. So I called their contact number after hours and left a message requesting a call back.

Cut to the follow-up. I receive a call back from Herb himself. He let's me know that the new shut-off valve was about $15 plus tax and his labor cost was $132. I inquire if they bill by the hour or by the job, to which he responded they do not bill hourly. I let him know that we kept track of his time and that it took about 15 minutes from start to finish, 20 minutes tops. If I extrapolate 20 minutes @ $132 (which excludes cost of the part) to an hourly rate, that works out to $396/hr. I plainly told him that 400/hr is not a reasonable hourly rate and 150 dollar fee for this job was exorbitant. Herb said that I would have been welcome to do the job myself. When I asked if $400/hr is a typical plumber's billing rate, he said it depends on one's perspective. He also said that it costs money to drive trucks around. He would not adjust the price in any manner.

Did the job get finished? Yes. Am I aware that companies need to make money and probably have minimum callout fees? Absolutely. Did the paperwork/documentation of the repair stink? Yes. Was the pricing exorbitant? Herb says no and I say yes. You can decide for yourself.

I called them because of the high Yelp ratings and I was not disappointed. Alex answered my call immediately and came out the next day for an assessment of the piping in our small condo complex. He did not try to sell me a new plumbing system. In fact he recommended against it is the existing copper piping from the seventies was perfectly fine. Thank you, Alex, for your thorough assessment and honesty. Most contractors would not do that I'm afraid.

Very helpful and informative. Did not push to make the sale and offered information even if not chosen to do the job.

We were selling our condo and had a few repair requests after the inspection. I needed a quick turnaround on fixes to the A/C and water heater. I called the local companies and was most impressed by the customer service at Santa Margarita Plumbing, Heating & Air. Gary was great! I sent him photos from the inspection report and he was able to get me a quote and schedule a technician right away. The tech was knowledgeable, courteous, and did good work. I'd recommend them to anyone in the RSM area.

This company had great communication.  I knew exactly what to expect & when.  The free estimate was fair and affordable.  Leo & Carlos had the main sewer line fixed quickly and they left no mess.  
This root cleanout is a yearly thing for us and we usually do it ourselves.  Not any more!! When it's this easy and this affordable without having to hassle with renting the equipment & unclogging the line,  it's totally worth it!! It's also good to know I have found someone I will feel comfortable calling for other plumbing or HVAC issues!

Have to give 5 stars.  Started out with what we thought would be a repair.  Ryan came out and explained our options to us for the repair.  In the end, given the age of our unit, we opted to replace the system.  Ryan, who is not a sales guy, did an excellent job at working to explain the different types of units they offered and then worked with us to ensure our old unit was replaced in 48 hours.  Michael and Danny handled the install and stayed until they were sure everything was set up perfectly.  Ryan came back out the next day to do some final work on an extra thermostat and checked everything.

From the first call to schedule all the way through these guys were just great.  Old school service, friendly folks, and it really is a family run organization.

It's hard to find service like we received from this team.
