Rod and Justin were the ultimate professionals - prompt, reliable, and very thorough. They replace some of our old knob & tube wiring, and installed a new electrical panel in our home. They nicely explained to us about all the work they were doing. The labor and parts charge was very reasonable, compared to the industry standard. Our electrical inspector was impressed with their work, too! I highly recommend these guys for any electrical job, large or small, that you may have.

Greg is awesome. He knows his stuff and worked diligently when I had to use his services a couple of years ago. During the memorial day weekend, I have my power out in a portion of the house. I called him and he picked up right away and told me to prioritize.
Just the right attitude and somebody knowing what he is doing. Highly recommend.

Finally I've found someone who knows and keeps up-to-date about the ever-changing LED lightbulbs. Gwen can come to your house with a box of bulbs and help you find the ones you like most for each room. For me, well worth it.

Our son and daughter-in-law had already put in a retractable screen door, so we had seen the product. It seemed perfect for our little house, so I sent photos of the two doors and scheduled installation. Scott, one of the best, fastest installers of anything I'd ever seen, came at 10 AM. We discussed a couple of details, and after an hour he had installed both doors. Just in time, as the temperature that day reached nearly 90 degrees. Really the perfect, unobtrusive way to create a straight-through draft that cools the house and vents the smells from Thai cooking to the outside. Really good investment. Good company!

We needed to replace the light bulbs on a building sign and make changes to the signages.
Bob, owner of low-cost lighting quoted a great price and made a good recommendation to convert regular light bulbs to LED light bulbs to save energy cost and long last use. Also, he made a great suggestion to install an auto timer for the LED to lower the cost.
What I like the most about the service is that he has great communication and honesty.
Overall, we are pleased with his services and highly recommend this business to everyone.

It's been a few years since I've needed these services, when the Electrician did come out , he was very professional., efficient, answered my many questions and was very courteous.
I don't remove the cost of the project he did, it I have not had a problem of any sort after five years of having the work done.

Excellent service, communication and professionalism. The quote for replacing our electrical panel was reasonable compared to others and we were scheduled quickly. The entire team was great to work with! Would definitely recommend and use again!

You know, initially I wrote a 5-start review because as far as electric work is concerned, they were pretty good. Timely, good communication, good work, and aside from them forgetting a few little things here and there, I had nothing to complain about.
But, there is one no - you should definitely not hire them if budget is a concern. I'll explain.
They came here to do two jobs, and while they were working, I asked for a quote to add an additional outlet, along the same path where they were already installing one. On their end, this would've required just another wire, another breaker, and based on their other job, about 10 minutes of dinking around. They quoted me either 200 or 300 bucks for this, and just out of principle I said no because 300 bucks for 10 minutes for an electrician isn't going to happen. Day light robbery.
Now, a few years later, every single time I need an additional outlet where I don't have one, I remember Artisanal Electric, and every single time not with the best thoughts.
If you have money to throw around, I am sure they'd do a fabulous job, but if you don't, be mindful.

Completely over charged us for work. Minimum of $225 to do anything which we were never informed of. The guy came out and spent 5 minutes here. $225!!! Ridiculously unhappy.
Additional update: I found on another review site that they had charged for work that was $68, $190, etc... in the last year. Obviously lied about their minimum charge and decided to take advantage of a customer. I informed the business of this and they said they did not care. Complete unprofessionalism.
I feel robbed. I have filed an official complaint with the better business bureau.

Excellent electrician! Very fast service, punctual on arrival and very friendly. I had a 50A RV plug installed and was very impressed by the level of service received. A++

John has come out to do work at my home a couple of times now and I have been very happy with every aspect of working with him. The pricing has been reasonable and he is flexible with scheduling to accommodate busy schedules...though I also feel comfortable enough for him to do work around the house while no one is there.
He is very personable and happy to explain his thinking and the work he is doing. Each time he comes out I am very happy with the service and feel like I've learned a couple of new things about my house.

Doug's Electric was referred to me by my neighbor. I needed a electrical panel upgrade. Doug showed up on time with all of the supplies ready to go. Only took a few hours and I have had no problems. He even called the next day to make sure everything was working correctly! Highly recommend.

We had a streak of bad luck (or bad service) with our natural gas generator. We started with SME Electrical (see below) and ended with D Square Energy saving the day and a ton of money.
Background/cautionary tale/rant:
Our generator worked fine until this spring when the power went out and it wouldn't start. We had SME Electrical come out in September and they found that the natural gas line was kinked and also said that it needed service. We were SHOCKED when we got the $500 bill. (They also overbilled their hours which they agreed to partially refund. After much prodding, they sent us a $60 refund check.)
The generator ran the weekly maintenance routine for three weeks and then would not fire up for the following week's maintenance run. I called SME and asked for them to send someone out (free of charge) since we paid them so much money to get it in tip-top shape less than a month prior. They stated that their new minimum was $260 and that would be the fee to send a tech out. I told them that that sounded like the policy of a company who doesn't stand behind their work. After much back and forth, they agreed to send someone out at no cost to troubleshoot. They stated that if the fix was a warranty issue, it would be free. If it was not a warranty issue, then we would have the option to decline service.
The technician thought the battery may be dead. I asked if battery strength would be tested during a $500 routine service. He said probably not (huh?). He didn't have a spare battery, so we pulled one out of our VW to troubleshoot with. It didn't fix the issue. After 2 more hours of phone calls and banging with tools, the technician informed me that the issue is that electricity is flowing to the fuel regulator but the fuel regulator is not making the noise to indicate that it is opening. He claims that the tech that serviced it DID perform this test (but didn't check something as basic as battery strength?) and documented that the fuel regulator was working well when serviced (this is questionable to me considering they don't even check the battery) and therefore is not a warranty issue. (Surprise, surprise!)
We asked neighbors via Nextdoor.com for suggestions and they recommended D Square Energy. They came out today and fixed the generator in 45 minutes! YAY! :)
The previous company (SME Electrical) had quoted an additional ~$700+ to replace the fuel regulator. The cause of the problem was NOT a faulty fuel regulator as SME said, it was a dirty carburetor that needed to be cleaned. Simple fix and no parts required!
I highly recommend D Square and will use them again in the future for all of our generator related needs.

I echo Tami T! I am so happy that my contractor recommended them. Everyone is amazing! They are doing a pretty large job for my first floor AADU, including a total rewire of my 1964 home and moving service and panels. They are on it and so flexible and professional and wonderful.
Thank you, Patrick and crew!!!

Keithly Electric updated the electrical system in our entire house. We had knob and tube wiring that had to go. They were FANTASTIC. Excellent communication, professional and hard working. They cleaned after each day of work and came early each day to get back to work. A job well done!! FIVE STARS.

We hired Ahearn to install additional outlets in our old house, which had unsafe electrical work in the kitchen and zero outlets in one bathroom. Chris and an apprentice converted old outlets to GFCI outlets in the kitchen and laundry room and created an entirely new outlet in the bathroom, the new new wiring for which involved Chris crawling around in wastewater from a plumbing leak we didn't know about (old houses are fun like that). Chris was a good sport about the plumbing issue and returned to finish the work after that was repaired and cleaned up.
I'd give more stars except for 2 things: 1) at some point when entering or leaving our yard on day 1, Chris and the apprentice broke our (admittedly crappy) gate and left a human-size gap in the planks. Had they told me at the time, I would have understood, because like I said, the gate is old and easily broken. But I only discovered it after they left, and having a missing plank was a security risk that I would have liked to know about sooner so I could fix it during the day. 2) After the job was finished, I found a thin metal rod sticking up out of the bathroom floor, flush with the wall...I imagine it's related to the outlet installation, but it was never explained to me during the process and I'll just have to hide it with a trash can or something.
Overall, communication was less than idea. I'm not sure we'll hire Ahearn again, but we do need our knob-and-tube wiring removed, and they do that, so...*shrug emoji*.
