Best Plumbing Services in Pennsylvania
Very responsive (a rarity among contractors from my experience), friendly, professional, and fair rates. They did a great (and fast) job replacing a toilet for me and based on this experience I would certainly recommend them to others.

Today was the fourth time I have had work done by these guys. We've had them replace our entire sewer line house to street, we had them replace our water heater, and they did some repairs and replacement of piping under the sink in my parents house. I called yesterday about installing a gas shut off valve and they were here in 20 minutes. The prices they charge couldn't be more reasonable. The work they do is quality. And the guys are some of the nicest people you could meet. If you are looking for someone to do any plumbing or heating work in your home I highly recommend Hopkins. These guys are honest, decent, affordable and extremely knowledgeable.

I have to give a shout out to our awesome plumber Mark Trimble. No he didn't tell me to write any of this but I see a lot of questions in here asking for a great plumber. I can't recommend him enough if you have a job that you need done right the first time, need to fix a job that was botched by another company (like one that rhymes with Sold Pedal), or any challenging or creative fix. Mark and his son are the guys to save the day.
They treat your house like their own. In our case, our sump pump failed and the back up too. Plus the original company who installed the connector to the townhouse drainage system did a terrible job (before we moved in) and water was splashing all back on our bricks causing damage. Mark is not the cheapest plumber but is is absolutely the best around. He can do anything, do it right, do it to code, and make sure you won't run into problems in the future by corner cutting. He knows what he is doing and stands behind his work. I think they must have come by five times for our job to quote, help us keep the basement from flooding, lent us a little manual pump, installation, and checking in to make sure it worked properly. That kind of service is rare these days.

I owned my home for several years and had no ceiling light in my living room. My home was over 100 years old, so it was originally gas lighting. Manny placed 6 recessed lights in my living room ceiling and included a dimmer switch! Then he installed baseboard electric heaters in every room including my living room. He did an excellent job and I was very happy.

I worked with Matt on a unique plumbing issue and he was knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. You can trust in A&P!

This plumber was referred to me by my home warranty company. He replaced my two broken sump pumps with two lower quality ones. I expected to have them replaced with like quality and he said he buys the cheapest he can and puts them in...a sump pump replaced with a sump pump. When I voiced my concern about the lower quality being a problem, he quoted me an additional $340 to put in what I want. I was charged for the incorrect ones in ADDITION to the correct ones. He also disposed of my sump pumps which were covered under manufacturers warranty- he said they were junk so he tossed them. It was extremely unprofessional and a crappy way to do business. I would not trust his work.

We totally got taken advantage of, and it's sad knowing this sort of thing goes on and its hard to find trustworthy people these days. We had called WMH when our gas water heater wasn't working back in October. The technician, named Steve K, didn't bother troubleshooting or even touching the heater, but just said Unfortunately, I know this model well, it's discontinued and when you have water in your basement they are ruined. I explained that the heater was only 3 years old and there was a water leak in our basement, but not enough to submerge anything. He then explained that even the slightest bit of moisture is enough to get sucked up from the bottom and completely ruin the heater. He then quoted us $1339, and pressured us by saying the $95 service fee will go towards it if we agree but we'll lose it if we decline. Glad I chose to decline, I just had a feeling something was fishy.
So the next day I called Bradford & White tech support and told them what the WMH tech said, and they called his claim ridiculous. I also called 2 other local HVAC companies and they said the same thing, and they couldn't believe that he didn't even take time to open the thermostat or look at the burner.
We told WMH this, and they said We stand behind what Steve told you and will not come look at it again, but if you still want to buy the heater from us we'll deduct $100. We did not have enough to buy a new heater, or risk another $75-$100 charge for another HVAC tech who might say we still do need a new heater.... so we endured 3 months of having no hot water (in the winter mind you) while we saved for a new heater. We were really stuck, and we had to get used to heating big pots of water on our stove, carry it to our tub, and using that to bathe.
Finally, in January, our neighbor had a handyman that they knew come check it out. He came over, opened the unresponsive thermostat, started properly troubleshooting, cleaned some wires he said looked dusty, and got the heater working in no time. He charged us $20 for the hour he was there since he was friends with our neighbor, but we gave him $100 for his honesty--and for saving us $1300. W.H Henderson, please stop trying to take advantage of people who are not familiar with HVAC tech details, it's not right. Some people go through financial setbacks like us where even $100 is too much to throw around. Please encourage your employees to do the job they were asked to do (fix things) rather than upsell and make money/bonuses/quotas or whatever. PLEASE tell them honesty will be better for business in the long run.

The leak detection side of their offerings was fine.
However, I made the mistake of hiring them for their plumbing. Their plumber found the most roundabout, expensive way to resolve the issue and turned a $400-$500 fix into a $2500 fix.
Even once it was fixed, it started leaking again a few weeks later. This was supposed to be covered by my warranty, but they wanted more money.I ended up paying another $250 so they would do the fixe the way it should've been done in the first place.
If you use them to find your leak, do not under any circumstances hire them to fix anything.
