Best Plumbing Services in Philadelphia, PA
Very responsive (a rarity among contractors from my experience), friendly, professional, and fair rates. They did a great (and fast) job replacing a toilet for me and based on this experience I would certainly recommend them to others.

Mr. Hopkins is wonderful. Have used him for over a decade and he always bails (no pun intended) us out of some watery mess. He REALLY knows plumbing; does not do heating to my knowledge, but he will recommend. Quality work, clean work, very fair prices, responds to phone calls, and is reliable to show up for appointments. I wouldn't use anyone else!

Needed plumbing work done and Mark (the owner and Master Plumber) was very responsive, efficient, and was on-site for all the work doing most of it himself with his son (also a plumber) assisting. Definitely a great company and person to deal with!

I owned my home for several years and had no ceiling light in my living room. My home was over 100 years old, so it was originally gas lighting. Manny placed 6 recessed lights in my living room ceiling and included a dimmer switch! Then he installed baseboard electric heaters in every room including my living room. He did an excellent job and I was very happy.

I worked with Matt on a unique plumbing issue and he was knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. You can trust in A&P!

This plumber was referred to me by my home warranty company. He replaced my two broken sump pumps with two lower quality ones. I expected to have them replaced with like quality and he said he buys the cheapest he can and puts them in...a sump pump replaced with a sump pump. When I voiced my concern about the lower quality being a problem, he quoted me an additional $340 to put in what I want. I was charged for the incorrect ones in ADDITION to the correct ones. He also disposed of my sump pumps which were covered under manufacturers warranty- he said they were junk so he tossed them. It was extremely unprofessional and a crappy way to do business. I would not trust his work.

WM HENDERSON PLUMBING
BROOMALL, PA
I recently needed a plumber because my house boiler's pilot light would go off every day or two, needing to be relit by me. I'd seen quite a few of WM Henderson Plumbing trucks and decided to give them a try.
A young man examined my boiler and after saying it didn't look like anything was wrong took another look by pulling out the thermocouple (a short straw-size, vertical protrusion) and the pilot light and pronounced that the proximity of the two to each other was the cause of my boiler's on-and-off-again problem. The thermocouple has to be close enough (yet, not too close) to the pilot light to heat properly and, thereby, via proper signaling, keep the boiler going. My boiler's thermocouple was slightly out of range, i.e., not being hugged enough by the pilot light, and maybe not sensitive enough (I was told); thus, his cleaning/sanding it with a folded dollar bill. But that didn't work.
I was told I needed a package that would solve this problem and it would cost $521 total. And that would be on top of this $85 diagnostic visit. I asked, Why don't you just adjust the thermocouple via bending it closer to the pilot light? His response: It can't be bent.
I declined the install in order to seek a second opinion, and it just so happened, not from another plumber but from a plumbing-knowledgeable chess club friend about a week later, after a few more pilot light outages. My chess friend--who doesn't like plumbing costs either--looked the situation over and told me that he would very slightly bend the thermocouple closer to the pilot light. But the plumber said it couldn't be bent, I informed him. Nonsense, he answered, it can be SLIGHTLY bent and that's all you need.
To make this story short: The boiler has been working fine for three weeks straight without turning off--and I saved $521! Moral: Attractive and clean trucks do not mean the service is going to be what you expect.

The leak detection side of their offerings was fine.
However, I made the mistake of hiring them for their plumbing. Their plumber found the most roundabout, expensive way to resolve the issue and turned a $400-$500 fix into a $2500 fix.
Even once it was fixed, it started leaking again a few weeks later. This was supposed to be covered by my warranty, but they wanted more money.I ended up paying another $250 so they would do the fixe the way it should've been done in the first place.
If you use them to find your leak, do not under any circumstances hire them to fix anything.
