Danny is great. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. We first hired Danny to hang new IKEA cabinets as well as a microwave for our new kitchen renovation, but also had lots of other jobs to get the house lease ready. He wound up having to fix a lot of problems that we had from previous workers, and he did a great job making everything perfect. Besides the basic handy work, Danny has basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing, but was realistic about what he didn't know. Whenever there was something to do outside of his purview, he could recommend colleagues who were experts, such as a great electrician we used. Danny is very meticulous about details, and will make things perfect, and suggest things to do as if he were working his own house. I had limited time and budget, so couldn't address every issue we had for our renovation, and couldn't afford to make everything perfect, so Danny was also great with listening to my priorities and completing those things on time, and within budget.

The owner knows what he is doing, but 2 out of 3 times, we got his employee, who needs to call his boss to ask what to do.  One time, we had a dimmable light that flickers *even when we turn it off*.  The only thing the employee would offer was to replace it with a non-dimming switch.  I'm not even sure if he understood that there was something wrong with a light that is (partly) on when you turn it off!

Other times, they solved our problems.  Once, the price was good; and the other time, we needed 10' of wire and they charged us for whole spools.  Did they throw away the rest?

Edit: Yes, you did tell me the prices beforehand.  Nothing dishonest.

Have hired Uchkun a couple times now and he always does great work, shows up on time and is very friendly. Highly recommend him for help on projects around the house.

Had Mr. Electric over to hard wire a Ring doorbell. Marcus was great, and the doorbell is working nicely.

Lee was quick to respond, super easy to communicate with, showed up on time, fixed a nagging problem we had with some low-voltage landscape lighting and charged a very reasonable rate to do it. Not sure what else you'd want. Definitely recommend.

This company just did some work on my house and I am very pleased with how it turned out.  I have had other electricians that tried to take shortcuts.  It was completely opposite with South Bay Electric.  I'd recommend them to others and definitely hire them again.

My double oven stopped working. The appliance person said the oven was fine, but there was a problem with the wiring behind it. I called several electricians--some never called back, one asked me a lot of silly questions making it clear he didn't want the job, and one said he didn't have the equipment to support the oven when they pulled it out. Finally I called Oran and got someone out promptly. Alfonzo kept checking various components to be sure where the problem was. Then he called Oran, as he needed a second person to do the job, who came out quickly. They fixed it. And they charged a reasonable fee.

My landscape lighting stopped functioning. Jesus from the EV Guys came out and promptly fixed it. Great service, polite and professional. My new electricians!

When other plumbers wouldn't work at night, Teo came to rescue. He even did extra fix not directly related to the service I requested. He only accepted the service fee we agreed on and refused tip I offered. Definitely will call him when I need service next time.

Admittedly scary trying to find a dependable electrician out there. Afraid of being overcharged or taken advantage of. Not so for these guys. Honest, upfront, and got the job done quickly and expertly. Couldn't recommend them more!
