I found this company through Yelp. Robert was extremely responsive by Yelp message, text and phone calls. He scheduled the jobs promptly and his guys were on time. I liked him because he's honest. I've been dealing with a lot of contractors recently and let me tell you that's extremely rare to find. He's also a nice friendly guy. His team with Raphael and Gary are great. You can tell that they take pride in their work. They were polite, courteous and cleaned up after they finished which is a huge plus.
I had them install a level 2 EV charger, replace the can lights inside of my home with LED lights and install 3 outlets. They did a fabulous job.
Their prices are very reasonable....I know because I shopped around. And most important to me, was that they are insured, licensed and bonded. Which was important to me when installing a level 2 charger in my home.
I highly recommend them.

I called several electrical companies for an electrical main panel upgrade and advance electrical service was the fastest to respond. They also gave me the best quote out of all the other competitors. They scheduled for the upgrade as soon as the next day and got everything done right including getting a permit from the city and passed inspection. They have been very accommodating to my request. If you decide not to take my word for it and use this company, make certain to get everything in writing. I thought I was getting an Electrical Safety Inspection and a written report. What I got was 2 guys at my house for less than 15 minutes and a texted quote to replace my electrical panel. This cost me $230. I also asked for a quote to run 220 to my garage. No one measured or even bothered to look at where it was going.

When I asked Robert about it, he claimed he said no such thing. I am very disappointed and feel ripped off. If the panel gets replaced, I can assure you that Advance Electrical will not be getting the business.

How DARE YOU? I would never ask you to lie. I only asked if it was dangerous. You are treading on very libelous ground, my friend.

He gave a low quote ($130) for diagnosing the problem and charged exorbitantly high price to do the repair. His people changed 2 breaker switches in the sub panel (which cost probably $7 each) and charged me $530. Since I am already going to pay $130 anyway I agreed. He wanted to charge me $450 for installing the Nema 1450 EV/Tesla charger plug. Fortunately, I declined that and went with an another electrician from Facebook for $300. When the other electrician came in he said that these guys charged way too high for changing 2 breaker switches which didn't resolve the original problem I had with the breaker switches. I threw away $530 for essentially nothing. Won't recommend this company for any of my friends or family and won't use this company anymore. I have some expensive electrical works coming including rewiring the entire house and changing the panel to 600 amps panel. I can readily exclude this company from any consideration, a company that preys on not well informed clients. Owner says that I am having a bad day. Yes, paying $530 for changing 2 breakers means I am having a bad day.

Outstanding service by Robert and his team of electricians. The quality, the problem solving and their work is exceptional.

Robert and his team came out and diagnosed electrical issues in 1/2 of our house. The team was focused and identified the issues within 3 hrs. They were able to identify the issue by using problem solving skills and isolating the issues quickly. They informed us of the issues and the consequences if the issues were not addressed.

The day of service- The team arrived with 3 electricians. The team worked from the moment they stepped onto our property. They were focused, completed the work and for a short period went without air conditioning, nonetheless they worked and worked and completed the job successfully.

In terms of cost: Robert provided the cost and was more concerned for our safety. Robert clearly stated the work to be completed and his team delivered.
Overall:I can't say enough about Robert and his team of electricians ....without a doubt they are clearly talented in their profession.

Tried to install a bunch of smart switches myself. Was successful on a few, completely screwed up the others. Sent a Yelp request for help and Robert replied very quickly. I had used Advanced a couple years back to install an 120w outlet for me EV. Had a good experience with the service, called them back recently for an outlet I was having issues with. I got a call from Advanced to see what the issue was, explained what was going on and he suggested I check 1 last thing before he came out and have to charge me for the visit. I had a couple of outlets that stopped working in my rental unit. I reached out to Robert via Yelp and he was very responsive and upfront about the troubleshooting cost- which happens to be the lowest of all electricians I contacted. Had a 240 volt outlet installed for electric vehicle charging. Advance Electrical Service responded quickly and provided a reasonable quote. Booked an appointment and installation was performed within a day. Once they arrived performed an assessment they advised that they didn't have the correct switch to fit my electrical panel; they went and got the correct one. The process was seamless and the technician cleaned up the area once the installation was complete. The whole process took about an hour.

I needed two light fixtures replaced in a 20 foot high ceiling. Finding someone who can replace fixtures on ceilings of that height without a lift is very hard to do.

Advance sent out two chandelier specialists the same day who did a great job. They were on time and spent the time to get the very particular fixtures just right.

Highly recommend, especially if you have a high ceiling installation you need done.

Robert was extremely helpful when we needed some quick help. He sent someone out the next day, fixed several issues in our house, and then told us we needed to contact LADWP to fix the other half of the issue. LADWP came out that night, and we had power back to the house everywhere except for a couple rooms. Robert called us to offer some quick troubleshooting tips, and when none of those work, he sent the same repair guy (Gary) out again who fixed everything once and for all. Advance Electrical Services just has an excellent team. They helped me to install a Tesla Wall Connector in my garage. The price was reasonable, and work done was superior quality. Robert responded my quote request in a few minutes and came to my home in hours for estimate. The work was done at the same day. Gery and other two team members were very knowledgeable and gave me the best solution for installing the charger. They were super nice and cleaned the workplace throughout. It is my pleasure to write a 5 star review for Advance Electrical. We purchased an older home a few months ago, and quickly noticed some issues with the 100 amp service: circuit breakers tripping frequently, flickering lights, power outages in portions of the house... the kind of stuff that makes you check the batteries in the smoke alarms, you know?

Finally, our garage, living room, kitchen, and bathroom all lost power, and it became apparent that we needed some electrical work.

I tried the home warranty provided by our seller first, but they were worthless as hen poop on a pump handle (but that's another review.) they found a way to not cover anything, so no love there.

I put up a request for quotes on Yelp, and got three or four responses quickly (aside: if you're not using Yelp for home improvement bids, you're missing the boat.)

Advance stood out for both its high Yelp ratings, speed of response, and price. After a phone call with the owner, Robert, he arranged to come to the house for a free inspection and to provide a quote.

Robert showed up on time, took a quick look around, and made the recommendation to upgrade the panel to 200 amp service, and correct some wiring/breaker issues around the house.

Robert and his crew did an amazing job replacing the panel. These guys worked all day from 8 to about 4, and not only brought our electrical system up to modern times, but corrected all of the code stuff that our home inspection identified.

The following day, the guys came back and added 6 breakers, rewired several parts of the house, added outlets, and corrected all the problems we were experiencing.

To be candid about price, panel replacement and rewiring is not a cheap repair... but Advance saved me thousands of dollars off the next closest price quote.

They don't take credit cards, but I paid on Venmo using my card, so that worked too.

I can't say enough positive things about these guys, and I definitely sleep a lot better knowing my kids won't have to jump out their window in the middle of the night due to an electrical fire. Worth every penny for safety, reliability, and peace of mind. Thank you Robert and team!

I am writing this with gratitude. After trying to change some smart switches I ran into an issue where I confused the wiring and needed to call in a professional.

In my own, home I've changed 4 smart switches with no issues, but in this instance, I inadvertently rewired the lighting incorrectly. I went to update my girlfriend's parents' switch in the dining room to work with their Google Assistant devices that I got for the holidays. I actually updated their living room switch with minimal issues so I thought the dining room would be easier.

To make a long story short, I could not get the dining room switch to work so when I reverted back to the original switch I had the dining room switch controlling certain aspects of the living room. I didn't realize until I went home that when they turned their dining room light off, it turned off their DirecTV box, TV, and an assortment of things that they use in the living room.

I decided at that moment to hop on Yelp! and request a quote. Robert of Advance Electrical Service stood out because he gave me a number to contact him. That enabled me to set up an early appointment and actually talk to him instead of going back and forth in messaging him.

The job was relatively easy for him and he was out after changing the dining room light switch and master bedroom switch for me within about 45 minutes. He changed my panels as well. He did everything that I have been able to do in my own home, but I appreciated his efficiency and consideration. He wore a mask, took off his shoes, and wore gloves at my request. I would recommend Advance Electrical Service and will likely refer them to others for any electrical needs.

Because of Advance Electrical Service, they can now say Hey Google, turn on _________ for each corresponding light switch. It is something that benefits them as they age.

We needed an outlet to charge an EV and every electrician who came out said it had to go across the roof, down the side of the house, across the carport and down the front wall. It was going to cost $2000. We decided not to buy an EV.

Robert came over and showed us a direct route under the house that cost half that much. His crew came and put it in today and it is so neat and perfect - we are very impressed. It's also in a much better location. It was a great idea and they installed it very professionally. Thank you!

Do not recommend Advance Electrical Service. I had them come out to replace under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen with new fixtures + dimmer switch. About 2 weeks later, one of my fixtures stopped working entirely, so I asked Advance Electrical to come back and diagnose the issue and fix it if it was installed incorrectly. These were brand new fixtures so I didn't think it was likely they were broken / defective and it was more likely a worksmanship issue. They said if it turned out to be their fault they would fix it free of charge but that if it turned out to be a defective fixture they would charge us $170 for the visit. We felt it was reasonable for them to check that their installation worked and tell us what was wrong before moving forward with additional charges.

Since they had lost our trust at this point (and we didn't want to have to pay them again for work that we thought may have been done poorly in the first place), we called in another electrician to diagnose and fix it. Turns out it WAS Advance Electrical Service's fault, as one of the wires wasn't secured well and had become loose in the daisy chain, causing the last fixture in the daisy chain not to work. The fact that their work had an issue is not my complaint, things happen and the wires were pretty difficult to maneuver and secure. However, their attitude was to automatically assume it had nothing to do with them. Call me unreasonable, but when I pay several hundred dollars to have something installed and it stops working shortly thereafter, I want them to tell me why and to fix it. Really disappointed that they did not stand by their work and didn't seek to resolve the issue with us before threatening additional and unwarranted charges to troubleshoot. Go with someone else.

The owner knows what he is doing, but 2 out of 3 times, we got his employee, who needs to call his boss to ask what to do. One time, we had a dimmable light that flickers *even when we turn it off*. The only thing the employee would offer was to replace it with a non-dimming switch. I'm not even sure if he understood that there was something wrong with a light that is (partly) on when you turn it off!

Other times, they solved our problems. Once, the price was good; and the other time, we needed 10' of wire and they charged us for whole spools. Did they throw away the rest?

Edit: Yes, you did tell me the prices beforehand. Nothing dishonest.

I highly recommend Advance Electrical Service. They are professional, knowledgeable, courteous and the prices are reasonable. I am extremely pleased with the work they did for me. I had a problem with my Livingroom lights where the lights stayed on even after turning off the switch. I replaced the switch and even removed the switch all together and the lights were still on. I contacted Advance Electrical and Spoke with Robert. he was polite, understand and truly wanted to help. He told me he would send someone.
Gary and Ralph showed up the same day. The spent hours attempting to trouble shoot my issue and they would not give up. Finally, they found the problem. It was the wiring on the transformer with my new Ring doorbell. It worked fine for 10 years with my old Ring, but the new Ring I purchased had issues with the incorrectly wired transformer. Gary and Ralph rewired the transformer and solved my issue. These guys were awesome. The were truly a pleasure to work with. True professionals. Only critique: during covid, although his crew had masks and were outside the entire time, at various points of the job, they had their masks below their noses or took them off. Please try to keep them on for the entire job. Just trying to stay healthy. Otherwise, great work by the crew!

Advance Electrical service did a great job installing a pair of light fixtures and 3 dimmers. They supplied the necessary certificate of insurance required by my condo. One of the fixtures was swagged and this came out great. I supplied the fixtures and swag hook. The other light fixture was installed correctly, but after it was installed I realized there was a manufacturer's defect in the fixture itself and they uninstalled it without complaining and at no additional cost.

UPDATE: DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. Convo with owner in pics. The owner is insisting that it was (somehow??) MY fault that they did not show up or text or call to notify me that they would not show up. I got the most rude, embarrassingly immature and astonishingly unprofessional responses from Robert after writing this review. Let me be clear, I confirmed with him multiple times and received no communication after confirming the time last night. It is not my fault that Advance booked an emergency job with me and then DID NOT SHOW UP, CALL OR TEXT. After my experience paired with the owners response, I assume they carry this childish, no-accountability attitude into all their work. As such, I wouldn't let them near my projects - god forbid they make a mistake when they work on your house, I'm sure that will be the customers fault too!
DON'T waste your time, energy or money. Learn from my mistake.

Not reliable, don't count on the appointment time and don't call for an emergency. Booked for an emergency - needed a simple fix for a shorted-out light switch before a house inspection, so I rushed to find someone who could be here within 24 hours, with a hard deadline at noon today (a deadline I emphasized three separate times for this booking.) Confirmed last night with Advance that they would be here by 10 am, or earlier if possible. Started to wonder where they were this morning when it hit 10:15, assumed it was traffic, which would have been fine - went to look up their number here and low and behold, I have a Yelp message (with NO call or text) saying they're changing the booking time to 2 pm. After I confirmed THREE TIMES that I needed someone here by ten because the job needs to be finished at NOON. Thank you, Advance, for turning an anxiety provoking emergency into a true full-blown crisis for me today. You cost me time, money, and a whole lot of energy by being so unreliable.

Quick response for a quote and really decent price after we got quotes from a few other electricians. We hired Robert and his team for a lot of small fixes at our commercial property.

They added a new electrical panel, fixed a bunch of dead outlets, added new ones (220 outlets) throughout including a 30amp outlet for an RV, added dedicated outlets for some of our special equipment like a welding machine, and cleaned up our existing panel that was very poorly installed by a previous electrician.

Worked incredibly fast, completed the job in 2 days. We highly recommend Robert and his team and would definitely call again for future work!

I don't write many reviews. Maybe 1 or 2 a year when I feel like the service or product is note worthy. This is my first review for 2020 because there has been nothing worth posting until now.

First, a little background on what happened. This past week my microwave suddenly stopped working. No power to the unit. This is quite irritating when we are quarantining at home and need to use the oven to heat things up. So I placed a quote request on Yelp and Robert responds within 5 minutes. He will come and evaluate the problem and give you an estimate. For free. Knowing that of course there is always a chance he could be wasting his time and gas driving there.

He arrives right on time and is able to immediately diagnose and fix the issue with our electrical outlet. So, I'm thinking great now I can get to microwaving my popcorn again. Then, later that night the power to the microwave cuts out. Thing doesn't turn on at all. I text Robert and he immediately texts me back and we FaceTime so he can see my electrical box. And this is at like 9pm when he is already home with his family relaxing. I was floored. I couldn't believe he would follow up like that. He finally decided he needed to come in and look at things in person and change the circuit breaker. Only problem was he was fully booked for the next 2 days.

Despite that, he still managed to find the time to return to my house the following day and reassess what the issue was. He was able to deduce that the micro was shorting out the outlet. All other electrical appliances were working in that outlet except the micro.

Needless to say, I am so impressed by his work. But even more than that, I appreciate how he will follow up with you if you have any questions or if other issues arise. I've had previous experiences with other people that pretty much block your number after they get paid. That is NOT Robert. Complete professional and will get the job done right. Do your self a favor and book him quick.

I need to run a new outlet the house. Robert responded to the Yelp request immediately and came by the next day for a quote. His quote was in-line with others I got, and I picked him since he would be able to do the job the next day. Well, it rained HARD the next day, and he still showed up to install the outlet. The outlet was outdoor and he had to walk back and forth to the panel, definitely got himself wet in the process. He was a great professional, didn't complain about the rain, and did his job professionally.

Alex was fantastic. He was very responsive to my yelp enquiry and came to my home at an exact time in the morning so I did not have to wait for a 2 hour time window. He got straight down to business and while the job was more complicated than expected and required all kinds of rewiring and attic climbing, he fixed it all! Excellent. Did a great job at a very reasonable rate. I met with four electricians and he was the only one who even mentioned a grounding rod. I even asked one of the others if I needed a grounding rod (which I happen to know is required by code) and he said I didn't need one.

Advance knows the electrical code code and does everything right at great prices.

We had a smoke alarm start chirping with a low battery signal at 4am on a Saturday night but it was installed on a 17' ceiling. Knowing we couldn't deal with that every minute chirp another night, nor could we reach it ourselves, we thought to reach out to electricians via Yelp. We wanted recessed lighting in our dark living room, since we only had floor lamps. I selected Robert's estimate and they installed the LED recessed lighting within a week, and they make the room beautiful! Robert installed 3 way switches that have dimmers, and can be controlled remotely online if we wanted. My neighbor loved how ours came out so she had Robert install recessed lights in her living within a few weeks after mine. I asked her how she likes them, and she says she loves them. I rarely write reviews. However, I felt compelled to tell you.....These Guys Rock! 2 weeks ago a hard wired smoke detector, I didn't know I had, starting screaming....not an occasional low battery beep...a constant mind numbing scream. I couldn't get it open or off the ceiling. Finally I just got a hammer and wacked it, hoping it would break and make the lambs stop screaming. It didn't break, but it did open, revealing a Warning High Voltage sticker. Glad to still be alive, I turned off it's circuit breaker , left for two weeks and forgot all about it ...until today. Seems my alarm is also on that circuit and the battery back up was failing....and beeping!!!
So, on a Friday at 4:30pm, thinking I was stuck with the beeps until next week, I sent a bid request to this company while praying their great reviews were real. I promise you they are. Robert replied quickly, quoted me a really reasonable price and could be here in approx. 1.5 hours. To my delight, they showed up less than an hour later, fixed my problem, cleaned up, checked everything, volunteered to look for another hard wired smoke alarm that would work with the existing wiring...and did it in record time. The whole experience was beyond great. I finally found my forever electrician.
