I have learned over the years that electricity was something best left to the experts, Seth was my first call--and my only call. I had planned to get bids from several electricians, but once I talked to  Seth at SMC Electric, I stopped searching. Not only was he prompt, honest, and very courteous, he was also extremely professional. Seth was very upfront with project costs and time, and had everything done well ahead of what was promised. I rarely write negative reviews and am saddened since the profile offered such promise in past client experiences; not to mention I used them years back and it was a great experience.  As a contractor, I had both Corey & BJ at two different jobsites w/in 3 weeks of each other - one for a whole first floor, the other for large master bathroom.  Both were initially very responsive and made accommodations to come onsite.  THEN NEVER returned a bid.  Multiple promises on when one could expect a proposal and no follow through.  

I understand people get busy, bids get delayed ( I'm in the trade!) but 7 weeks no answers, no bids, then ignoring phone calls and kind text prompts for update.  Forget it, if they want to turn down what has now been signed work with another company totaling $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 in business guess they are too good to work on my honest residential projects.

Don't call if you are needing a job right now, let alone if you are 3 months out.

I have hired them 3 times for different projects. They are reliable and do good work. I would highly recommend them.

Super fast communication to make an appt and the technician hey sent was amazing! He was friendly and charged me a price that was very reasonable.

I am so glad to have found Northstar Electrical. We will definitely be using them for any future electrical work. They came to install four ceiling fans in our home. When other electricians were quoting us four weeks out to stop by for an estimate and installation sometime after that, Northstar gave me a same day estimate and scheduled installation for the very next week. Sander and Sergej, the electricians who installed the fans, were excellent. Courteous, friendly and very hardworking. There were a few hiccups during installation (because of how our house was built and because of how the manufacturer shipped the fans) and Sander and Sergej didn't get angry or frustrated, they just solved the problems as they came up. Our fans were installed quickly and correctly and are working beautifully. Rob, the owner, and Patrick, the Service-Project Engineer, were great to work with as well--knowledgeable, considerate, and responsive. This is a great company. I highly recommend working with this team of professionals.

Shawn was fantastic and I'd highly recommend him. From start to finish, he was a prompt and patient communicator, which can't be said for most contractors. He quickly returned my call, found time for a comprehensive estimate and offered a competitive quote to upgrade my service, and replace my panel, install a car charger, and a many more small tasks.

During the project, he was efficient while taking time to answer all my questions and explain everything in layman's terms. He was always super considerate to do everything the right way, even if it wasn't the fastest way.

All in all, Shawn was great.

I need to replace my old in-wall heater and went to them for help - really professional and efficient people! They emailed me everything I need to know beforehand and sent Zoran. Zoran is really nice and helpful - he knows exactly what he's doing. He made the hole bigger to fit the new heater with a couple of tools (he has almost everything) and installed the new heater properly and efficiently (there was an unexpected challenge, yet he immediately made the right decision and fixed it). He was also very careful about the dust when working, making sure no mess in my place. The price is reasonable. Would recommend!

I hired Jon to do some electrical work to bring powers to my AC, and I was very impressed by his service. He gave me a competitive quote, showed up on time, and completed the job quickly, and efficiently. He was very knowledgeable and explained well what he was doing. He also made sure it was working properly before he left. He was very professional, responsive and reliable throughout the process. I definitely recommend him for any small electrical work.

I just had great experience working with Daniel and Moses to wire and install an outdoor outlet for our new AC unit. Because the cost was likely to be high, I emailed Daniel to ask for the range of the cost. He then offered to come to my house to give me a free estimate.

If you have ever called any electricians, you should know most electricians bill based on trip charge (basic fee) plus labor time and material. Even they do nothing, they still charge for just showing up at the door. I was very happy that Daniel was willing to come out to give me a free estimate. This just makes him distinguishable from other electricians.

He gave me a very detailed estimate. The price was reasonable, so I accepted it. Later I told him that I might need to replace an indoor outlet as it's loose. He offered to do it for free! What a wonderful customer service!

Moses was the one who actually showed up to do the work. He's very polite and friendly. He explained to me his work. He was very patient with me when I didn't understand his explanation. He was great to work with. He also cleaned up after his work. His work showed a very good quality.

I would highly recommend Strands Electric. Of course, whenever I need someone to do some electrical work, I will call Strands Electric.

Had a leaky coil on my heat pump. They came out and diagnosed the problem and we're able to replace the coil rather than replace the entire system as another company had said needed to be done. The cost was about a quarter of what an new system would have cost.

I've had these guys do a couple small jobs and they were quick, reasonably priced, and did the job well. What really earned them the 5 star review was there advice on a faulty light fixture. Rather than come out and charge for it, they gave a few suggestions for how I could test the problem on my own first.

I am not easily impressed, but this company is outstanding! I requested bids to install an EV charger from 4 different companies, 1 of whom was a no-show. Brent from Washington Energy was by far the most thorough and professional and gave me complete confidence that they were the right company to hire. Daniel and Cornelius did the install and they were on time, polite, professional, efficient and finished earlier than estimated. They did a great job and the city inspector confirmed that they did an excellent job. I would absolutely hire this company again! The interactions I had with everyone in this company were above and beyond - I'm definitely impressed.

I have used them for a couple small jobs at my home and a rental house we have. They have ways done a great job. Will continue to use them when I need an electrician in the future.

I was told that the job for the first hour is $199. The electrician was done in 20 minutes and our final bill was $315. The job was to just disconnect the alarm system so no extensive or extra materials was needed. Totally got ripped off and will never use them again.

Final price was over twice the amount quoted over the phone and via Yelp messaging.  When I explained the situation to the electrician he did make an adjustment, but it was still over twice the quoted amount.

Based on the quality of the work that was performed, my rating would have been 5 stars.  However, I adjusted the rating to take into account what I believe was a deceptive quote, intentional or not.

I was not only cut off by a driver in a company truck T828 but he proceeded to laugh and blow kisses and wave at me and then proceeded to slam on his brakes multiple times and him and the other guy in the truck would start laughing. Not the best representation of a company if that's how they act then not the kind of workers I want to use. Maybe teach professionalism to the workers. I work in business where we use trades and I would never recommend this company to anyone .
