Brennan Electric

I hired Brennan to replace an older electrical panel, which needed a grounding wire and updating the service panel. Joe came out to give me a quote. They were the most responsive of the MANY electrical companies I had contacted for my job. The front desk staff was wonderful to schedule with, they worked with me for a later time. When Joe came out he was very honest and personable. I felt comfortable knowing that this company would be in my home.

They finished the project in two days and took care of everything. I would highly recommend them!

NEVER even got a call from them after signing up at Costco. Called them twice to see what the hold up was - - - no return call.  I would have rated them a ZERO, but my iPad required a rating number in order to comment.  ZERO. ZERO. ZERO.

Made an appointment for electrician to visit and either fix or replace ceiling heater. I had a new unit waiting in case it needed to be replaced to save time. I was quoted appropriately $325 for job without complications. Technician arrived and never even evaluated job, quoted $1000 to install it. I said well I'm prepared to pay approximately $325. He clearly had no desire to do job and to scam. Odd business. Another electrician came our fixed it in 40 minutes for $187. There's some fishy about this place,

Brett was one time and called ahead to let me know his eta. We had an outlet replaced outside. He answered all of my questions and was friendly. Will be using them again in the future.

Check the number of complaints they have with the BBB. According to their bid, their work was Adding new switches and outlets in stair well, kitchen, customer location. They didn't replace the switch to the stair well and left the other outlets and switches just wired, with no actual outlets or switches! Some of them were also not put in the locations as shown in our drawings. Their contract also states Pay Schedule: 50% To schedule - 40% Trim - 10% Final Inspection. We paid 50% to schedule, they didn't do the trim (which is to install the outlets and switches) and then they charged my credit card in full without my permission. Their total was $4,950 for 5 1/2 hours of work which is about $900 per hour. Their response to my complaint to the BBB was a flat out lie. They said they finished their work and that we refused to let the inspector in. We allowed the inspector in and they failed the final inspection because they weren't done. Now we have to hire another company to finish their work. Total waste of time. I'm sure they'll post a response to this review that will not be truthful but the fact is they didn't fulfill their contract.

Brennan was hired to install a sub-panel in my garage and clean up some switches and small jobs within the house.  What should have been a 1-2 week job turned into a 2 month job.  The sun-panel failed inspection with the city, and getting one of their guys to come remedy the situation took a very long time.  In addition, their work coordinator, Mercedez Wilson does not return or take calls so your only hope of communicating is via email.  Don't hire these guys. Most unprofessional electrician I have ever worked with and I have worked with a lot of them.

Technician was real friendly.  Setting up the appointment for the bid was also easy.

Never got the bid proposal.

I called back to inquire and several days later still don't have a bid.

I don't have the luxury to continue waiting unfortunately.  So I am moving to another option.

Quick timely scheduling with the office! Friendly and professional staff in the office and in the field. Fast, smart tech was able to diagnose and repair my issues in less than an hour! Went above and did a little extra helping without extra charge. Rates seem fair too! 10/10 would recommend and use again!

I write this in February 2021.

I first got in touch with Brennan Electric for an estimate in October, 2021.

They sent a man, who had some good ideas, in November, who promised on a Friday a written estimate by Monday.

That didn't  happen. I followed up. Nothing.

Finally in the last week of January Brennan Electric called, apologized, promised to send the estimate...which hasn't happened.

Maybe they do fantastic work; how would I know? What I do know is the communication process is wretched.

Brennan sent an electrician out to do an estimate for installing an EV charger at my house. It took 2 months just to get that arranged - including one time just completely forgetting to tell me the electrician would t be coming out on a scheduled day and rescheduling for 3 weeks later. The electrician finally gets out to my house and we talk about a plan for installing the charger outlet and he says he will email me a quote within 48 business hours. Another week goes by and I email them to say I haven't received a quote and I let them know I was anxiously awaiting it so we could get started. I receive a reply stating that they would let the technician know I was waiting on it. Another week goes by with radio silence. I send another email asking if this was going to be something that they would be able to do for me. Another 3 days go by with silence. I can't even track them down to throw money at them. I do t feel like getting a 240V outlet installed should take this much effort on my part. Completely disappointed.

Brennan Electric was great! Well priced, knowledgeable, fast workers, quick to respond, easy all around. After dealing with the nonsense we went through with Seatown (NEVER USE THEM), Brennan to the rescue! Even had to come back to finish up, and made whole process an easy one. Much appreciated and will definitely be working with them again in the future!

Needed an electrical quote for putting in a therapeutic spa and to separate an old not to code box into two because it was tripping.  

Contacted them on Aug 28th.  It took until Sept 15th to get an appointment for a bid because they had few times available and could only give me broad times when they could come.

Electrician came and spent an hour including time in the house (inherent COVID risk, but I needed the work done and thought them to  a trustworthy company who could do the job having been referred from HomeOwners Club.  

I was told I would get a quote in 2-3 days.

After six days I got this response:
Good morning Stephen! I hope this e-mail finds you well. My deepest apologies on the extreme wait. We at Brennan really want to make sure all of our customer's are satisfied with the business we do with them. I'm going to send this through to our electrician and see what's going on here.
Thank you for your continued patience.

After another 4 days of waiting and no response I called again and emailed.  I also emailed Homeowners club.  

The next business day I got this response.

My apologies due to the lack of communication, I have left a couple voice mails without response (maybe I have the wrong contact info)

Due to the scope of work requested for separate service and or meter base the  city of Seattle will need to review in planning

You are responsible to start the process on there website existing service alteration (attached)

After confirmation of approval we can offer adequate proposal'

He indeed had left one voice mail at 412pm on the day of the email, two weeks after the electrician was out and a month after first contacting them.

I have had two other quotes and not one mentioned that I needed the city to review just to get a quote.  

Avoid this business, if they it takes them a month to tell me they cant give me a quote, who knows how long it would take them to do the job.

Given the quality of their communication one could infer that the quality of their electrical work is going to be bad as well.  Trust the safety of my family using an electrical company that is so clearly inept.  I think not.

Marty and Brennan Electric is so incredibly unprofessional. Please do not use. I normally do not leave reviews (good or bad) but this company will create a fire hazard in your home. We hired them to fix a light in our kitchen. The man who came out fixed the light by putting an unnecessary hole in our ceiling and in the process breaking a plug on the 2nd floor. When we hired them to come back and repair the plug that was broken, they fixed that by going into our wall and leaving wires loose and not up to code. When we scheduled for them to come out the THIRD time, the man, Marty, no showed. This company will let you down at best but at worst, the shotty work will cause a house fire. Do not hire them.

Can't say enough about this company.  Used them years ago to install a furnace (before they had the electric department).  Outstanding work then, outstanding now.  I had Jim come out to test four circuits that were installed years ago without permits.  L&I required a test that isn't done very often and required rented equipment from another company.  L&I was vague about what they wanted so Jim and I spent a lot of time running the test in all possible configurations.  Very helpful, very knowledgeable, very friendly.  And he didn't mind explaining things to me as he went.  He was at my house for two hours, worked hard the entire time, and seemed to enjoy every bit of what he did.

We need more companies like this one!

Final price was over twice the amount quoted over the phone and via Yelp messaging.  When I explained the situation to the electrician he did make an adjustment, but it was still over twice the quoted amount.

Based on the quality of the work that was performed, my rating would have been 5 stars.  However, I adjusted the rating to take into account what I believe was a deceptive quote, intentional or not.

We received a fair estimate for getting in two new circuits. Tony was on time and did the work cleanly and quickly. We are happy with the work and using them again for an induction range circuit.

I had a scheduled appointment with Brennan (as a follow up to something they didn't fix right the first time) and waited around the entire day for them to show up. They confirmed the appointment in the morning and then a half hour after they were supposed to show I had to place a phone call to them only to find out they weren't going to show up. I had to go with another electrician on short notice to get my problem fixed properly.

I needed an  electrician right around the xmas / new year holIday, it was really hard to find anyone to come out. Brennan gave me one of the shorter  waits, so I booked them. They came out even tho there was snow, and got the job done quickly and efficiently. I would have preferred a shorter wait, and it was a bitt  pricey, but all in all a good experience.

I have hired Brennan Electric twice and would do so again! They performed outlet grounding, light switch replacements and troubleshooted a problem light.

We had a interesting problem with a electrical plug run; being that this is am older house,it took some detective work and too trips to find the problem...Good company and good  Technician,Thank you Brennan, and you get 5-stars from US....

Victim of cheap switch rescued by Brennan next day.  Have you ever tried getting ready for work in the dark?  Woke up and the light would not come on in the master bathroom groping in the dark got ready for work first priority of the day get an electrician out to the house ASAP.  I sent out an  the first 3 was booked either they were really booked or the did not want to come out for one switch replacement received fourth response minimum $225 and four weeks out was so desperate even four weeks sounded better than none so made appointment and added to waiting list in case someone cancelled  then I tried one more and found Brennan Electric schedule appointment for next day for $155 trip fee (a difference of $70 savings) The technician was there on time completed the job within minutes-hooray thank you Brennan Electric

They originally installed my heat pump and did such a great job I had them do some more electrical work. They electricians were great, we had two guys DJ and Tony. Very professional and clean. They were courteous and helpful. I wanted to get some can lights installed, they saw the job and during the installation said they would install a portion of them take a look and see if the lights will be too much before cutting and installing for all 5 lights. But that kind of forethought is important, I cannot uncut a hole in the ceiling but they were thinking about it. Turns out we wanted to the extra light anyway. I have nothing but good things to say about Brennan Electric. I will be using them again for future electrical needs.

Tony (Anthony) from Brennan Electric is fantastic! He did the entire knob and tube rewiring of our house plus the new electric panel change - effectively putting our 1920's house up to today's standards. His work is meticulous and clean, he explained everything in detail and made everything go as smoothly as possible. He showed me our hot tub outlet on the back porch that I didn't even know existed and even hooked it up for us! He also did such a great job filling in the holes from light fixtures outside to keep out the bats and rodents. Thank you Tony for your excellent work - I will recommend you to anyone that needs electrical done.

They were very professional, wore masks , fast and extremely efficient I was quoted for a 2 day job and they were finished before noon on the second day.

Very disappointed. I reached out to Brennan Electric through the message feature of yelp. I received a response very quickly which was great. Everything went down hill from there. The electrician was scheduled to be on site the 25th.
I reached out to the woman that initially responded to my request, and helped me schedule the electrician. I let her know I hadn't heard anything from the electrician. She emailed me back saying the electrician should have emailed an estimate to repair our lights. I never received the email, and let her know an email never came through. I then called to speak with her to see if she could tell me what work was needed. She said she spoke with the electrician but she wasn't exactly sure what he was saying. She stated again that I would receive a quote through my email. I never received a quote, or a phone call back. Least to say I reached out to another electrician. It's disappointing as I could've hired another technician that would've had this job complete.

I had Brennan Electric do a considerable amount of work on my home. Joe and his team did an outstanding job. They put in new can lights throughout my home. They hooked up an EV charger, they replaced numerous outlets and light switches. They split breakers and rewired my whole garage. They are top notch as it pertains to electrical contractors. I refer them all the time. It saddens me to see poor reviews. Edes M. needs to realize that there is a shortage of contractors in the Seattle area, especially electricians. Most companies right now won't take minor electrical jobs because they will lose out on larger jobs. With the Seattle construction market as busy as it is, be thankful that you got anyone to come out. If you want minor work done call a handy man, you would be better off.

Pros:
Professional Demeanor:  All who entered my home were kind, pleasant, non obtrusive and professional even if their manager wasn't there.
Problem Solvers:  The men were good about doing work arounds due to the nature of the older home.

Cons:
Timeliness: My 3 day job took seven actually work days over 2 1/2 months with half of my electricity off in my home (due to an issue caused by the work and not agreed to by me).  They consistently arrived after 9 and left by 4 with a lunch.  When I asked for them to arrive earlier when I had work, they would say yes, but it didn't happen until I called the corporate office the day before the job was done.
Communication:  We had multiple issues with miscommunication.  Lovely conversations were had but Joe, the boss of the crew, didn't remember or misunderstood even when it was written down in the original order or I wrote it down for them.  This resulted in only part of the job being done (honest mistake but they lost the second part I would have gotten done by them due to these issues), my believing I would be without electricity for 4 weeks during summer when I am off and ending up waiting 8 weeks when I was back at work and getting dark, and numerous follow ups to get the original, agreed upon work done.

I was referred to Brennan for some minor electrical work and I was very disappointed in the lack of customer care I received from both the electricial department and electrician. I had to call several times to get my appointment scheduled in the first place. When I finally got an appointment scheduled, I was given a 2 hour window of when the electrician would arrive. After not showing up w/ in the 2 hr time frame I called the main office to get an update. Was told he was on his way. An hour later I called again and couldn't reach anyone and left a voicemail. Almost 2 hour after my 2 hr scheduled window he arrived. It took him longer to ring up my charges than it did to fix the problem...$200 later. I am only giving one star for actually completing work!!!

The house has been around a long time (more than 70 years) and was in need of electrical work. This demanded attentiveness to detail and ingenuity. Jim of Brennan electrical did all of this, and did so both economically and in a timely manner. He is resourceful, knowledgeable, and reassuring--a joy to work with.
