Best Electric Furnace Installation in Philadelphia PA

Joseph's Affordable Plumbing Service
We had an emergency where our bathroom started leaking into our dining room -- on a Sunday. Joseph came out right away. Turned out we had a cracked stack that involved gutting the bathroom and dining room. Joseph hand-held us through all the steps that would happen, gave estimates that turned out to be spot-on, and recommended a fantastic contractor to repair the dining room and parts of the bathroom.

Joseph's crew are really good fellows and really nice guys. They worked their butts off in the middle of a hot summer in a sweltering, small space.

Above all in an age where so many contractors are remarkably bad communicators, this is where Joseph particularly shines. He pretty much called me every day that he wasn't on site, even on weekends.

When we had a minor issue 6 months later, he was out the next day and fixed it at no charge.

This is no average Joe. He's excellent Joe.

Ironside Plumbing & Heating Plumbing Service
Nic came out promptly to replace my shower diverters and some eroded pipes in the back. He was quick, professional and explained everything he did. I'll be using him for all my future plumbing/HVAC needs, and the best part is, he is a local small business owner.

Tri-County Residential Contractors Plumbing Service
John was great!  We had a tub faucet that was leaking.   I had purchased a faucet cartridge for the unit, but I was not able to DIY.   He used special tools to remove the old cartridge and placed the new one.  Very nice and efficient. He was the first to respond with a Yelp request, (my prior plumber retired) and we will hire him in the future for other needs when necessary!

Price's Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Plumbing Service
I was extremely happy with the quick response and great service. My wife called me at work saying that water was shooting out of the drain line for the washer in our basement. I called price's plumbing and they were there in less than a half hour. Diagnosed and fixed the problem before our basement was flooded. Thanks price's plumbing for saving us from a major disaster. I would highly recommend and use them again.

Started job a day later.

Goodman Plumbing Plumbing Service
Maybe I am biased, but I was very happy with Goodman Plumbing. My husband called them in an emergency after we woke up Tuesday morning to a flooded basement and what we suspected was a broken water heater. We Googled emergency plumbers Philadelphia and Goodman answered their phone first. Our usual plumber was not answering his phone and Goodman came out in under an hour.  Not only did they identify the problem (yup, cracked water heater), they cleared out the old one and also let us know our clothes dryer was hooked up incorrectly and dangerously.

Veteran Plumbing Service
Surprised to see so few reviews for Veteran. Excellent service and excellent work.

Chris initially came out to take an estimate for the project. He explained the solution well and offered an alternative. Provided tips in case I wanted to attempt a DIY which I ended up opting not to. Kelly and Bob were out the next week to complete the job.

Professional, transparent with pricing, and timely completion. Great communication as well. Would call again. Very satisfied.

Stimmler G J & Sons Plumbing Service
Bought a house and needed the furnace/boiler checked prior to the winter season.  Was also having some issues with the system in general.  I called the  company that had serviced the equipment for years (The previous owner had highly recommended) and they no showed on me twice but called me back to see if I wanted to buy a service plan.  (!?!).  That was enough for me.  I started the hunt for a new Heating guy.

Out of desperation I asked a friend for a referral and she recommended G.J. Stimmler and sons.  (She raved about them and how honest they were)  I'm very happy that she referred them.  In no time, I had the owner Andy and his assistant on my doorstep and the furnace was being cleaned and inspected.  They identified the cause of my problems and replaced an electrical part.  The bill was very reasonable and I never felt like they were rushing to get to the next job.

This is a local, family owned company that's a couple of generations in the making.  I can see why they have endured.  The entire time they were working, Andy answered my barrage of questions about hot water heating systems in general and my 36 year old boiler in particular.  I asked when it should be replaced.  Clearly, there are no high pressure sales tactics here.  I was told my system is past it's normal useful life of 30 years but that it's been very well maintained and does not look it's age at all.  He said it was a coin toss and that the boiler  could last for a few years more or die in a few months. There's just no way to know.  He simply suggested putting money away as and when I can and planning for a new system down the road.  On top of that, when I asked him if he knew of a good tree service, he gave me a name and number that worked out fantastically.

What sealed the deal for me was about a month later, I called the emergency line because my furnace went out.  Andy diagnosed the problem over the phone based on my description and told me what to do.  Heat restored.  Zero charge.  These are the only guys I will use from now on.  I cannot recommend them enough and I see their truck in the neighborhood a couple of times a week at least.

Irrelevant but interesting - I recently looked at some of the yellowed paperwork and instruction sheets that are tacked to the basement wall near the furnace.  (Most pamphlets are for equipment long since removed but they date back to the early 60's.)  These documents were added to over the years by Obsessive owners as new parts were installed/equipment replaced and they have apparently remained untouched for decades.  Being a history nerd, I took them down and sifted through them and discovered that my boiler was installed (in 1980) by none other than G.J Stimmler and Sons.  Irony!  That just gives me warm fuzzies.  One generation of a family business installed the equipment, the current generation will (eventually) take it out and replace it.  Full circle....

Mattioni Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Plumbing Service
I never had service performed by Mattioni, and I never will. I called and scheduled an appointment to have someone come out and give me a quote to run a water line to my refrigerator. First of all, they wanted $80 just to send someone out. The gentlemen that showed up were nice and very knowledgeable. However, they quoted me $550 just to run a new waterline. I cut them a check for $80 and sent them away even though they insisted on performing the work right then and there. Later that day, I had a different plumber come out and complete the job in 30 minutes for only $150. I will never go to Mattioni because of their outrageous pricing.

East falls plumbing and heating Plumbing Service
The gauge on our boiler had been broken for a while. Bill was very communicative and responsive to my husband's inquiries. On the day of our scheduled service, two workers under Bill came on time and worked on replacing the gauge. They did a great job at answering all of our questions and went above and beyond in their service. We are so grateful that we found Bill of East Falls Plumbing.

Nichols Plumbing Heating & Cooling Plumbing Service
Our experience was poor.  The last-ditch repair Nichols made to our aging oil burner was unsuccessful, and though it is understandable that not every $500+ repair yields good results, what really disappointed us was Nichols' refusal to speak to our home warranty company about the repair.  Nichols was aware that the repair was covered by our home warranty, and that it was based on the home warranty company authorizing the repair that we agreed to have it done, but when the home warranty company had questions, no one from Nichols would speak to them.  I called Nichols several times asking them to return the warranty company's calls, but it never happened.  On one occasion, the receptionist was quite snippy with me for bothering them.  All I wanted was for someone to have a five minute conversation explaining the repair so that I'd get the $500+ I had coming to me, but apparently, this was too much trouble.

Again, they knew that we were only willing to risk money on repairing the old system because of our home warranty, but they just took our money and ran after making the unsuccessful repair.

I would not use Nichols again.

John Erthal fixed my clogged master bath sink today.  He was prompt, respectful and kind. I booked on line last Friday, which was easy and allows you to upload photos of your plumbing problem. The office even tried to move my Tuesday appointment sooner (I couldn't take advantage of earlier appointment, though). Thanks PlumbPRO.

Filan & Conner Plumbing Service
Hired Filan/Conner to install heater 12/2021.  A nightmare!   Had to have them come out 2 to 3 times a month for 8 months until I said no more.  Heater kept breaking down from first day installed 12/30/21.  I was without heat for 5 days after installed as they would not come out on weekends or holidays.  Some adjustment, then a leaking capacitor that they couldn't find, but I found it.  The stack as installed failed inspection by Mt Laurel Twp.  It was left unsealed allowing freezing cold air to enter from roof causing overworking of heater - and a carbon monoxide danger.  They came out to seal, but used a sealant that was a fire hazard.  The  ceiling above heater was not secured, plate hanging down and not insulated. This Also aloud up to 130 degrees of heat to enter from roof through to system in summer (This review is shortened.)   ---  but then came summer with no air conditioning.  That summer was brutal with excessive heat and house was hot.  High gas and electric bills.  All they offered were bandaid corrections that were not nearly appropriate for this heater or my house.  And wanted more money saying preexisting conditions that were not part of new heater installation.  How do you install a heater as a contractor and not have it work and just make excuses.  I finally had enough, had 2 other contractor opinions at my expense to advise corrections needed for the shoddy install.  I settled on a contractor to make the repairs.  They tested all before hand scientifically and results were as I already knew about my house.  And that the corrections Filan/Conner wanted to make were      rediculous, cost a lot more money and would not have worked.  Obviously Filan/Conner did not know how to install a heater in a modular manufactured home.  Filan/Conner does not warrant even one star for review.  It cost me $5,000 to correct all repairs that should have been done as part of original installation.  The condensate pipe they left uninstalled!  When they did come back out to install, they installed it going through main duct leaving all holes and openings unsealed whereby all my airconditioning was be diverted to underneath the house instead of in the house through house vents.  I was sick and nauseous all summer from the Excessively hot house and no airconditioning.

Best Choice Plumbing & Heating Plumbing Service
Called for help with plumbing problem and was told that someone would be sent the next business day between the hours of 11-2. I waited until 1:30 before following up because no one called to say they were on the way. The person who answered said they had no job order scheduled and apologized. She asked if I wanted to reschedule and I reluctantly said yes. Next day same problem..no call no show. I have used Best Choice in the past and the plumber was excellent. I'm giving them 1 star because of the lousy customer service from their poorly trained receptionist. Done with them.

Horizon Services Plumbing Service
I am over 65 and live in an over 55 community.

My sump pump in the basement failed.  I called and received a prompt sales call from Horizon.

I showed the salesman, whose name i will not divulge, the pump that failed. He did not check out anything!  He quickly said that I needed a whole new main and backup system at a cost of $1,200 plus tax.  I replied that i just needed one pump installed, not a whole system.  He advised that it was a company policy he could not vary from.  I escorted him out.

I called my old, retired plumber friend.  We easily purchased identical replacement pumps for both the main and backup. (My friend said that pump failed too).  Total cost for the two pumps: $255.00 plus $30.00 for a large wrench from Sears

Older folks may be taken advantage of.
Enlist friends to help you DIY.
Exact plumbing parts are not difficult to obtain.

Allied Experts Heating & Air Conditioning Plumbing Service
Avoid using allied at all costs.  The install at the beginning could be good but the system doesnt last at all.  Within 8 years, the evaporator coil had to be replaced two times already.  The evpaporator coil was replaced in may 2021 and it cost 1900 to repair (labor only).  Not only was it expensive for the repair, i waited over 4 weeks to get it repaired and they never return my calls to let me know status. The same repair 5 years ago was only 500 dollars.  I tried to get an itemized breakdown of 1900 but they dont return calls once they got my money.  The next time my unit breaks, i plan to replace the whole thing with someone else so i dont ever have to use them again.  I would give zero stars if i could.

Horizon Services Plumbing Service
After posting a one star review for the service or lack of I received regarding a tune up of my AC, I was contacted by Beth, a much nicer woman than the one I previously spoke to. She appologied for the treatment I received and was able to help me.  She went through a complete explanation, unlike the previous nasty person, and took her time to take care of my issue. Together we were able to work out the issue. I'm happy to see that there are still competent workers for this company and that they will listen to our concerns and try to accomodate their customers as best they can.  Thank you Beth!
