We have had a number of issues with our plumbing over the past few years.  It's an older home and these things are bound to happen.  For the past few years, when there has been a need, we have called on Best Choice.  They have always come promptly, arrive when they say they're going to arrive, and do the job right the first time.  

I want to give a shout out to Jimmy who came yesterday for an issue.  He figured out what needed to be done and did the work quickly and effectively.   Because of certain health issues in our household, he wore a mask which was greatly appreciated.  

We will continue to use Best Choice for our plumbing needs.

I'm changing my 3 star to a 4 star In the years since my first review we've tried other plumbers. They don't show, they charge you an arm and a leg, or they do show and BS around the property for 1/2 hour.

Best choice is the most reliable plumbing outfit we have used. Even since we moved to another house. If there's any issues they always come right back out.

As mentioned in a few other reviews, the customer service can be lacking. Like when they say a technician will be there in 45 minutes later you have to call and ask where they are.

This company took a $1,000 deposit from us and said they had to order a part. Well, that part never came in and they never contacted us again. Trying to get a hold of someone that knows what's going on is very difficult. We are still trying to get our money back and now have to pay attorney fees as well. Be careful when using this company.

I should start by saying that their technicians, for the most part, are very good and competent.  
The major issue is with their customer service.  They quoted us a price to install a tankless water heater, which we were really on the fence about getting, and we agreed to the price.  They installed it, but, now we discover 3 months later, they installed it incorrectly.  The gas supply needed a certain pipe set-up and they failed to do it properly.  Once the water heater stopped working and this was determined to be the problem, Best Choice still insisted we pay for the fix-- even though it was their mistake.  They said they were giving us a discounted price on the fix because it was their mistake, but really it should have been discounted to zero.  Stupid business practice: they've now lost in future business way more than the fix would have cost them.

This company is totally incompetent. I hired them to run new plumbing lines.  The plumber caused a major leak in the new line.  The water damage was so bad I had to replace the entire ceiling under the bathroom. Even though they acknowledged they caused the damage, they refused to pay for the damages.  Please do yourself a favor and hire a reputable company who stands by their work.

   I just wanted to provide an update on this companies incompetence.  After close to three months they finally got back to me concerning my claim of damages.  They said they would not pay the claim because they did not have an opportunity to correct their mistake.  After three months of not returning my calls this is the excuse I got.  I don't even remember posting a bad review of any company, but because this companies total disregard to the damages they caused to my house I though I owed it to the public to write this review.

I had a pump replaced by Jim and Sam today. They arrived on time, were incredibly respectful and courteous, explained what was happening and timing on having to go purchase tools, cleaned everything, and made sure to test how everything worked with me.

I had a great experience and would recommend them and plan to use them in the future!

been fighting for them to put curb caps every since now trash stopped my pipes water coming up in my basement drain. Took off work they said they would be out today I lost a days pay they never showed and they confirm twice they would come . I called they said it was a job ahead of me How u said 8am/9am to be hear. They replaced my AC and furnace last year. They came out to assess the old unit and did a replacement the next day. Everything was done quickly which was key as summer came early and it was getting into the high 80s in May. I also needed them to come out and check my unit in the middle of a heat wave this year. I recommended them to a friend a few weeks ago and they were again prompt and reliable. Felt the need to post after seeing their low rating here. They have been professional and their costs reasonable and I would continue to recommend them.

On November 16th, we had water in our basement.  The water department came out and shut off water for three houses close to mine.  We were told by the water department that our service line needed to be replaced and it would cost us 4,000.00.  
We immediately complied with the water department's recommendation to hire Best choice plumbing.  They took a week and a half to come out and when I called to ask why it was taking so long, I was told by the answering service that I should be blessed as many people were waiting 3-4 weeks for water.  Both my husband and myself are senior citizens and this was a hardship to us and we feel the wait was unacceptable and unhealthy.
After the work was done the day before Thanksgiving, we had water in the basement from the pipe that was installed and I had to call the company again to come out.
Fast forward to today--Got up this morning and we had 2 - 3 inches of water in my basement.  The water department mentioned that they old line was not disconnected and mud and water continues to rise in my basement.  The work was shoddy and we are now without water again and with mud and water in our basement.  Thanks to Best Choice and the water department foe additional damage to our home!

We've used them last month to redo our main shutoff valve. Estimated on a Thursday and the job was done professionally and well the following Tuesday. We paid Sam, the estimator, (nice guy and professional), half and paid the rest to the plumber afterward. They were the fifth plumbers we've tried, so we were happy someone actually came and did a great job.

So when our shower handle became stripped, we called on the 12th, and Don came to estimate on Friday. Nice guy and very professional. He said they'd would call over Sunday or Monday. (The 15th or 16th.) I called Monday afternoon. They couldn't do the work until they had half the money. They wanted us to mail it, but I'm still waiting for a letter I sent in February (six months ago), to get to its destination. And mail across the city now takes two weeks. I did remind them we gave them close to the same amount last time, without any problems. It didn't matter.

So they promised to have someone drop by to pick it up. Two days later, when I called, he was coming that day. They called during dinner to say he couldn't come until the next day, (Friday, the 20th.) When I called at 4 PM, they told me he'd be their night guy. (Apparently, it's fine with them to have customers wait around for them for a full week.)

He said they'd call Sunday night or Monday. According to the women answering their phones, the two owners and all managers aren't there. Ever. For at least two weeks. They really should be. And this job was close to two thousand dollars.

Monday the 23rd, when I called, yet again, I was told it was finally put up on the board. I asked if they realized plumbing problems really aren't meant to sit for so long. By now the handle to the faucet is so stripped it takes three minutes to get the shower to work, and we can't bath in the tub. The scheduler is never there either.

My last call was yesterday, the 25th, to get my check back. The office manager was surprised by that. Incredulous that I could possibly be irate. They've been in business for... Well, frankly, I don't give a damn how long they've been in business. Our plumbing has been in business since before since the early 1960s. It needs replacing. She snickered at my lack of cooperation because she could get someone out here. (So could everyone else. They just didn't.) She couldn't find out what became of my check. (I was a bookkeeper for two factories, and all the bosses could find out immediately from me, the books, or on the computer. I also answered the phones, and never lied to anyone, even when a boss wouldn't take a call. But they've been in business for...) Two hours later, she called back to tell me she could mail it back. (They never cashed that almighty check.) Think it will get here by Christmas? Just as long as it isn't cashed.

I checked the reviews on here. Should have done that first. I do think the plumber they sent last time was very good, (and hubby was a steamfitter, so that's high praise from him), and I know the estimators were good. If management ever comes back, they should get new office people.

‼Best Choice Plumbing is the worst HVAC company in the area ‼ They sent someone out five times to look at why my water wasn't getting hot in a tenant occupied apartment. Each time they badmouthed the last technician and rediagnosed the issue with something different. They kept leaving without validating the water got hot. Ultimately they ended up having me pay for a brand new water heater and had two technicians completely refurbish it with all new parts TWICE! They wouldn't provide me with a new one or refund me anything for my now refurbished water heater. My tenants had to vacate for the extended time it took them to fix the issue. I was extremely patient, but the customer service was terrible and they kept saying they would call me back and wouldn't. At the end they told me that it was just the electric connected to the water heater and I never needed a new one. I could go on and on. I just wanted to share my experience so you don't also go through the same stressful situation.

Absolutely not the BEST CHOICE you can make. They were contracted for an EMERGENCY repair for a clogged trap. After not being put on their schedule and 2 reschedules it is now 3 weeks later with no service for an EMERGENCY.
Guess I'll use my basement as an indoor swimming pool.

Overall I'd say they did a good job.
The guys who did the HVAC installation didn't really clean up at all, which they are supposed to as it says in their contracts. I didn't ask them to clean since they had already been working for 10+ hours, but it shouldn't really be on the customer to ask them to do what is laid out in the contract. They should just do it.
One component of the air handler they replaced burned out less than a week after it was installed so I called about it and they came out and replaced it at no cost.

Absolutely terrible experience with them for a sewer scope on a house inspection. Called 2 weeks before the date of inspection and they said they would call 48 hrs before to confirm. No call from them until I followed up 24 hrs prior and asked what the deal was. Their response was they didn't know tomorrow's schedule until 5pm that day. They then hurried out someone that same day when I could not be present for it and relayed the results to the seller's listing agent. This does me zero good because the seller's agent said everything was fine and I never even got a call from Best Choice about the results until I continued to call. A week after closing, the sewer line is completely clogged and I don't even know if they did the work because of their terrible service.

Absolute worst company I have ever used. Not only did they trash my house and break the sewer line they remained unresponsive every-time I attempted to contact them. Additionally, they up-charged me  $2,500 more than any other company I consulted. Cannot reiterate how terrible of a business they are. Call any other company.

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY - AVOID THIS COMPANY.  I had significant water buildup in my basement and hired Best Choice Plumbing & Heating to diagnose and fix the issue.  I wish that I read the reviews on here before hiring them because if I had, I would have stayed away.  

Across the board, this company was terrible.  They misdiagnosed my issue multiple times, the administrative staff was rude and made multiple mistakes compounding my frustration and the timeline to find a solution, they provided a high-cost solution that would not have solved my problem and was borderline fraudulent, and then after everything, they were unwilling to pay for their mistakes.  

1.  Misdiagnosing the issue:  they sent a plumber to my house who didn't do his job, misdiagnosed the issue, and said it was an HVAC problem.  I then had to pay them to send in an HVAC person.  The HVAC person said it was a problem with systems that I've had in the house for years and never had a problem with (so that made no sense) and then told me that I needed to spend almost 10K to get an entirely new HVAC system.  This was misdiagnosis #2.  I then had to pay for another company to get a 3rd opinion to find out their solution was BS.  I called a 4th specialist and told them about the issue and they said it was definitely plumbing so then I asked Best Choice to go out a 3rd time and eventually they diagnosed the issue - a plumbing problem that went on for weeks longer than it should have leading to more damage - because it was misdiagnosed multiple times.  

2.  The assistants and admins made multiple errors with my project.  They got my address completely wrong and went to the wrong property.  They got my name completely wrong - it wasn't misspelled, it was an entirely different person that they put for my job.  When they went to charge my credit card, they wrote down the wrong address and had to call me saying my credit card didn't go through, so I had to stop my day to accommodate them each time - and that was all before the first time that they came to the property.  Every step of the way they made at least one administrative error - so if you go with them, make sure to double-check all of the info you give them.

3.  Borderline Fraud:  based on their misdiagnosis, they proposed a solution (in writing) that would have cost me thousands of dollars needlessly.  If I had trusted them and just gone forward with their solution, I would have replaced a perfectly good system and would NOT have fixed my issue.  If you go with them and they propose a high-cost solution, call someone you trust IMMEDIATELY to ensure that the Best Choice Solution is actually what you need.

4.  Refusal to pay for their mistakes:  after everything was diagnosed, they gave me a final bill for the repair work.  At that point, I had paid for a plumber to come out and misdiagnose the issue; I had paid for an HVAC professional to come out and misdiagnose the issue; then I had to pay for another company to give their opinion so I knew that Best Choice was BS.  All I asked was that Best Choice credit me for the 2nd opinion that I received - AND THEY REFUSED TO DO SO.  Their misdiagnosis and mistakes directly led to me spending an extra $500 and indirectly led to the issue continuing/getting worse causing unknown amounts of extra damage to the property.

If you make a mistake, you should own up to it pay for it.  The only explanation they gave me is that they reprimanded their employees for the misdiagnosis and the fraudulent solution.  That's great, but that's not MY PROBLEM - that's YOUR PROBLEM.  They are your employees and you hire them to represent YOU.  Your company made a mistake, so your company should make me whole.  They refused to do so.  

This is a highly unprofessional and untrustworthy organization that you should never use unless you absolutely have to

Jim Ryan from Best Choice has been out to our house twice now to fix issues and we won't trust anyone else now. He was called by our property management to fix our basement toilet after the pump that had just been installed by another plumber a few months earlier broke. He was on time, honest, and thorough. He even noticed and fixed things that the previous plumber messed up, and you wouldnt believe the mess he had to put up with because of all that. He handled it all so professionally and cleaned up after himself. We had an issue come up related to our shower next, and he came out early on a Saturday right before his vacation to check it out for us. It ended up being an issue for a contractor and he let us know that, which made me trust him even more. There should be more plumbers in the world like him.

I only take away a star because the administrative side of this business doesnt seem to be in order. We had to go an extra 4 DAYS without our ONLY toilet because whoever was responsible for special ordering the new pump that we needed forgot to do so, only prolonging our suffering while we both worked from home. If the administrative and office side of this business can get itself in gear I think that they can definitely up their Yelp rating

Worst services I ever had.. unprofessional, poor customer service, over all no star. I contacted Best Choice because I was having issues with my HVC unit. They came out told me to change things and charged me $700 and told me the rest is electrical issue. I got the 3 different electricians and they all told me the issue is the HVC system . I contacted Best Choice again to send someone ... Now the technician from Best Choice says we need a new HVC  I need this job done before the winter hits so I told them to give me an estimate which they did. I called the office and said okay I will go with you guys but I need a discount for the $700 I paid, which is for nothing. They said no we won't be able to do that, the price we gave is the lowest. I asked to talk to the supervisor the person on the phone told me that he is out (of course he is ). I don't think my request was crazy only fair I get my money back, Which they took and fixed NOTHING! Off my list

The first few times they came out they did a good job now this was a few years ago and the price was reasonable the last three times they came out the price has gone up and the quality of the work has gone down. This past weekend I had my spouts in the bathroom worked on my tub and my sink. The gentleman by the name of Nicholas did a terrible job all he did was complain while doing the work and didn't even repair the bathtub faucet correctly it was worse than it was prior leaking from two places not just one and the handle to turn on the tub was loose. Now with the sink he put on the faucet crooked and called it crap now this is a faucet I bought. He then went to look underneath the vanity and said the pipes to the hot water and cold water were crap and that they were put in wrong and just were old he decided not to fix them. Now I should include that I even told him I would return the item and buy another one that was better and in the 100-120$ + range to prevent this from happening he didn't respond. After the repair was finished I saw that he didn't put back the vanity or the panels to my bathroom closest and had trash thrown about the bathroom I called them to voice my displeasure and was told I would be getting 100$ back for the 615$ job I had done which included drain cleaning and that was good. But for the other 450$ that was spent the job was horrible and the amount that they want to give me doesn't even cover the tub. They also said they would give me a discount if I use them again. Which I don't intend too. Rip off of a spot to use. Should be called not my first choice plumbing and heating.

It is SUCK ans STUPID!!! I do not believe people how they gave 5 stars. First of all, a few months ago, we called and the made schedule between 1-3 then, nobody did not show up. I gave a call and front desk said they are running late. But why they did not tell the customer if they are running late. We will  call before 30 mins and still no one called, it was 6:30 p.m.  I called again and she said he' s on way and he did show up 7:30 p.m.  No excuse and apologize.

Also I wanted give them a second chance and called. They made a schedule 1-3 and I took off and it's supposed they were here. I called after 4 o'clock and  she who is also TERRIBLE customer service person said they will not come to today and she wanted to make a reschedule, NO SORRY, APOLOGIZES and helping!!

I am really great person and do not like to complain and blame anyone or anyplace. So I really put this review because they do not need THIRD CHANCE!! THEY need a good customer service and more organized to work!!!

My partner and I have been wrestling with some plumbing issues in our new home so we called in Best Choice for a second opinions on the fixes the builder had done. They sent over Sam who 100% lived up to the name best choice! Right off the bat he pulled booties on over his shoes to walk through our home (the poor guy came in a blizzard) and was knowledgeable and charming. He worked through our basement walls for about three hours diagnosing the situation and spotting things that the builders had deliberately tried to hide. Sam ended up calling in Anthony for a second opinion on his discoveries and the two of them assembled a list of wrong doings and helped us pull the permits for the work that was done.

I cannot possibly thank them enough for their thorough work and positive attitude. We are in for an absolute nightmare of work in our home and I am very happy to have Best Choice by our side going forward.

There aren't enough stars to express the quality of attention we received from Best Choice.

We've had an ongoing issue with the quality of plumbing in a new construction home we purchased last year.  While the builder left some plumbing exposed we thought it might be useful to have a licensed plumber do an independent inspection (as we suspected there were issues with the original work).

Sam arrived (in the middle of a blizzard!  What a trooper.) to come take a look for us.  After opening a couple of additional spots for inspection he was able to immediately identify a number of code violations and issues with the plumbing system that likely contributed to the ongoing issues we had.

He had a colleague (Anthony) join him to confirm his thoughts, provided us a clear breakdown of what our issues and options were and even went so far as to pull the plumbing permits for our property and provide a write up of their findings for use in trying to get our builder to honor his warranty with us and fix the issues.

The whole thing is an ongoing ordeal, but Sam and Anthony were a pleasure to deal with and helpful in the extreme.  I'll be recommending them to everyone in the future.

Quoted  me 175 to drill a hole in my sewer pipe and then snake the hole. When the bill came, they tried to charge me 350 dollars! Wait and the problem was never fixed! Again the problem was NEVER fixed and I had to have another plumbing company come out. Poor service at unfair prices! Tried to rip me off because I was a young girl!  So disappointed with this company. So I hired another plumbing company that snaked the drain and FIXED the problem for 95 dollars! Yes and that company said if they couldn't  fix it they would refund me 50% (45 dollars)!!!  

I also asked for managers to call me and they never did. After bothering them for a receipt  to be emailed to me. I emailed them asking them to explain charges  and sent pictures. No reply and no phone calls back.  I wouldn't  ever use them again!

This company is horrible unfortunately I had to use them through the home loan program. One guy sat around on his phone and did nothing 3 men were at my house and couldn't even finish the job on time. I had to call them back 5 times in order for someone to finish the job. And they broke my basement window and shelf and said oh that was like that when i have pictures showing what my window looked like prior to letting these people into my home. If you have the money DO NOT USED THIS COMPANY

Save your time and you money.   This company fails miserably both in service and customer service and is borderline criminal.  I called them to come out and check the operation of a hot water heater that they provided and installed less than 2 years ago.  The plumber they sent could not find our location and called us on the phone for directions while he was parked on our property just outside our fence that has a HUGE sign with our company name on it.  Sad and prophetic.   He diagnosed the problem as bad heating elements advised me they are not under warranty and told me i owed $150 for the service call.  He told me i needed a new heater and the price was $950 installed.  I said that price is crazy as a new heater is only $350 and pointed out that would $600 for installation.  He advised that was the price and i should call the office and talk with them.  Calling there was indeed a mistake.  Emily was rude and extremely condescending.   I decided to call both the manufacturer of the heater and the supply house where it was purchased.  A couple of phone calls later and they provided me with a brand new water heater free of charge. Seems to me they were trying to rob me all along.   If i was able to get the manufacturer to provide a new heater it makes perfect sense that they could have and should have done it on my behalf.  

Dishonest and extremely unprofessional in every way to say the very LEAST.

I had a good experience with Best Choice Plumbing. I was very satisfied with the service. Jackie from customer service was amazing, she attended to me quickly and made sure my needs were attended ontime and made sure I was satisfied. The quote was reasonable. Vincent was who quoted my job. Rooters tried to quote me at double the pricing Best Choice Plumbing did. The crew came on time. Operated a good pace. Did exactly what they were suppose to. The only thing I didn't like was what was stated on the agreement: If you decide not to replace the lead galvanized line we will make every effort to secure the line during the excavation and replace the dirt after the repairs are made. However if the water service pipes leak, it is your responsibility for the cost of replacing the line.

Please DO NOT  use Best Choice Plumbing as your first choice for plumbing. Do shop around and find a plumber that won't try to nickel and dime you to death.  The plumbers that they send over to your home to fix minor repairs are trainees. DON'T BE FOOLED LIKE I WAS.

Do not deal with this company!!!

While working on my my neighbors property, they did several hundred dollars worth of damage to mine and refuse to even call me back, let alone pay reparations for their damage. More specifically, while digging up my neighbors lawn, they dumped what they were digging up on my front walkway and lawn and then caused several hundred dollars worth of damage to my property finishing the job.

In other words, they used my property without my permission and damaged it while doing so.
I have tried a number of times over thh past month and half to get someone at the company to fix my property and I have gotten nothing but silence; no one will call me back. I am extremely disappointed that they couldn't even have someone call back to apologize, let alone pay for the damages.

I am strongly considering suing this company in small claims court for the above described actions.

In the end, these people are awful. Do not give them your business. There are far better plumbers in the Philly region. If you value your property and your relationship with your neighbors take your business elsewhere.

My experience is consistent with the others, they literally cost us thousands in damage. They cleared our drain but left feces all over the street, in our basement and somehow even in our washer. The guy refused to clean up his mess and told us to get bleach and a bucket. Absolutely awful, do not use them.

More like worst choice. This company has terrible admin practices. The women that answer the phone are always rude and misinformed. This company did not adequately service my unit, or find the problem. I'm out almost $700 and still have a broke unit, and no solutions. Their operations manager just told me that they don't have the tools needed to service my unit because it's too expensive. Save yourself the hassle and find another contractor.

Please avoid them like a plague. Terrible communication. Terrible service. Had a plumber come out to fix an issue and only broke it even more and won't come back to fix it. Called the next day and they are refusing to send anyone else unless we pay ahead of time. They are also not returning any of our calls and each operator we speak with tells us they are the manager and don't know why we are calling.
We now need a new, competent plumber to fix what the other one broke.

A plumber that calls back AND shows up on time is an amazing plumber to find. Best choice really is just that. Recently Jake came (early!) to install a new kitchen faucet & fix other plumbing odds and ends. Jake was personable and professional. When I asked he patiently answered general plumbing question that I had. Everything works great, another job well done!

I have used Best choice at least 3 times for snaking a drain pipe in my properties. It is always $125.00

It's not the money but the principle. I don't knock my repeat customers over the head and try to charge them more EVEN if it was a mistake, which it cannot be, because 3 times in the past on all CMX2 properties, cannot be a mistake. I really hope the $40.00 was worth this negative review because that was my experience, NEGATIVE.

I would not recommend this company. Their service was horrible. My husband and I hired them to replace our hot water tank. They came and partially installed it. They were suppose to call us back the next day to complete the job and never did. We were without hot water for a couple days in the middle of winter. After calling them 4 times and no response we had to hire someone else to complete the job. When we asked for a partial refund they refused. Hire at your own risk!

Sam came to look at my basement and was very helpful and explained the issues I was facing. So far my experience with them has been great.

Used them a few years back too when my pipes burst - another plumbing company lied and tried to rip me off, so then I called best choice and they came in, solved the problem, and everything was great.

I appreciated the efficiency of the Best Choice team who did the second excavation and completed the cross connection repair July 27, 2018.  The chance of severe storms that afternoon was worrisome.  The team worked straight through, had the new pipes in place and the hole refilled in good time.  I note the skill of the backhoe operator who worked deftly in little space with a minimum of jockeying the machine.  No broken tree branches.  Clean up of the sidewalk and street was thoroughly done after both excavations and the Best Choice workers were careful of property around the excavations.

I don't suppose any homeowner wants a big dig in her sidewalk.  Professional work, careful workers reduced my worry.

They were quick to respond for a no heat call on Saturday, came slightly late, which was fine,  however the Technician never sent his notes back to the office, so no one at the office knew the status of the call. On Monday, the Technician supposedly was back to the house, however he didn't have the parts he supposedly needed, hadn't ordered them, then did not respond to the office all day.

In the end, I called another company who refuted the diagnosis of BCPH, as I didn't need any parts, rather the gauge on my oil tank wasn't working.

Dave, the plumber that came, was very courteous, on time and friendly.  He also did the work well.  However, my issue is with the management.  I called on a Friday to tell them exactly what my issue was with a deep drain clog in my kitchen sink.  The specifically told me that the service was $125 during the weekday and $225 on the weekend.  I decided to wait to Monday since I was off for the President's Day holiday.  Dave showed up and we discussed the issue.  He excused himself to the stairwell to call his office.  The office called me to tell me that the new girl quoted me the wrong price and the work is actually $225.  I asked them to meet me in the middle for $175.  They did not accept and said they would only do the work for $200.  This was not my mistake, I didn't ask for them to honor the original price and they were still NOT customer friendly.  They have very poor business sense.  I will not use them.

I needed a faucet replaced. I saw  best choice among other plumbers in a neighborhood listing. The day that the job was done the service tech did not have a good attitude .He did not introduce himself or his worker.. when the job was done, The faucet did not have the correct pressure on the hot water side. It may not have been this plumber fault but with his bad attitude it didn't help. they( someone else) did return and replaced the faucet. But this experience was not the greatest.

I had a broken water pipe on my property and no water! Called the city, and they sent my job to another plumber. After getting the runaround for over 2 weeks, Best Choice was sent to do the job instead. I was told it would be two more weeks before anyone could get out to do the repairs. I got a call from Best Choice..They bumped the job up a week! They came out on a Saturday had the work completed in a few hours, and now I have water! Hats off to Ryan and Steve for all their hard work and dedication. Couldn't ask for better service, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needed a plumber. THANK YOU BEST CHOICE!!!

Was having water in the basement that looked like it was coming from a pipe. Loath to call water proofing people, I tried BCPH first, looking for an estimate. Sam came out and quickly helped determine the problem wasn't the pipe but another issue. He made suggestions about different ways it could be fixed, even though it wasn't them that would be handling that kind of issue. He was professional and timely. Would call again.

Had to write this 'Buyers Be Ware review for my fellow Philadelphians. Best choice was our Worst Choice. They did a bait and switch taking advantage of my 90 year old dad by writing an estimate for a clogged basement sink with standing water in the basin which prompted the call for service. Their detailed estimate indicated the sink needed to be replaced, the drain would be cleaned of all the debris, they would clean all the pipes and replace the sink for $695. Several hours and lots of attitude and poor customer service later, they demanded payment in full even though the newly replaced sink was now clogged and still not draining. They said their drain guy would be coming later to take care of that. They demanded to be paid in full for an incomplete job. They refused to leave without being paid. They were done working but we still had the same exact problem we had before they arrived. After a heated argument, my dad had no choice but to pay to get them out of the house. Eventually, the drain guy came but he could not unclog the drain. He said we would need someone to dig up the cement floor out to the sewer lines in the street which would cost thousands of dollars more. He demanded his pay and left with the sink still clogged. So we paid $695 for an extremely basic new sink. Take it from us -- DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE. Again, Best Choice was the Worst Choice we ever made.

Don't use.  I called and they stated that someone will come over and provide free quote.  I specifically asked whether i will have to pay for any work at that time and was told no.  The plumber came over to look at issue determined that small object was limiting water flow in shower and proceeded to do the work without my approval.  Granted this issue took all but 6 minutes of his time and a grand $150.  The issue here is that they are slick and dishonest --not a good trait in a vendor.  Will never use again.  Slick!

Called for help with plumbing problem and was told that someone would be sent the next business day between the hours of 11-2. I waited until 1:30 before following up because no one called to say they were on the way. The person who answered said they had no job order scheduled and apologized. She asked if I wanted to reschedule and I reluctantly said yes. Next day same problem..no call no show. I have used Best Choice in the past and the plumber was excellent. I'm giving them 1 star because of the lousy customer service from their poorly trained receptionist. Done with them.

Dreadful. Staff poorly trained - one says one thing, another says something different. Say they'll call you back and don't. Make an appointment with you and then try and change it at the last minute. Excuse after excuse after excuse. AVOID.

My first experience with Best Choice.  Sammy came out to do the estimate.  He quickly diagnosed the problem, gave me an accurate estimate on the spot.  He knows what he's talking about.  John came out to do the work, and he did a great job.  I asked for the stack to be replumbed to allow room for joist repair and it wasn't an easy task, but he did a great job.

After work was done, i had ponding in my shower.  I was a little upset so scheduled to have someone come back out.  Sammy came out, verified that there was a clog unrelated to the work, fixed it for no charge, and gave me some additional plumbing advice.

The only negative I can mention is the office seems really busy or disorganized.  I had my estimate rescheduled 4 times.  When the estimate was completed, it was delivered 5 days after the promised date I would receive it.  I was under a deadline so this caused inconvenience, but overall Sammy and John were very helpful and did great work.

Roman and Anthony did the job better than i expected. Got a quote from a fellow named Sam on a Friday. They matched and beat another quote i had from a different heating/plumbing company. The job was completed the following Thursday (one day job).

Two guys showed up. Both nice fellows. Roman was especially knowledgeable and skilled. I would certainly hire them again for a heating or plumbing job and ask for Roman to do the work!

Absolute crooks, in my opinion.  I paid $225 to have 2 drains cleared.  The guy left before doing the second drain and said a guy would be back tomorrow to finish the job.  The new guy came and said he's not there to clean a drain, he's there to install a new bathtub drain.  They charged $150 more for him to open the wall, which he then says needs about $3K to complete.  I said stop, I don't want the work, I just want my other drain unclogged.  He left.  I followed up for a MONTH tying to get someone out to finish the 2nd drain cleaning for the $375 I paid.  They said they would come back out for another $175.  Classic bait and switch.  DO NOT USE BEST CHOICE for anything, in my opinion.  I have never had such an experience.

I have used Best Choice several times in the last 10 years for small repairs and projects.  They were always friendly, on time and easy to work with.  They always offered free estimates and were affordable.  At one point, I was so comfortable with them as my go to plumber I wouldn't even get additional estimates.

But things have changed.  Last year I called and their quote seemed really high for a repair.  That led me to make a few more phone calls and another 2 quotes came in much lower.  So I learned my lesson.  Even though I like them, in the future continue to get 3 quotes because I can no longer trust they will value me as a customer.

Moving forward...I called again this week to get a quote on a different repair.  Service with the administration was awful.  It took 3 phone calls this week just to clarify I can't meet during certain times.  That's a bit upsetting because we went over this on the initial phone call.  Sloppy admin. work is always a turnoff for me.  I feel like that's the face of the company and if they can't take care of me in the office they won't take care of me with the repair.  To make it worse they originally told me it was a free estimate but then later told me they will charge a $150 diagnostics fee.  As stated in the initial phone call, I don't want the radiators diagnosed I want them changed from baseboard to cast iron heaters.  Plus I needed my water heater looked at.  She said I must have been misquoted initially.  There is a charge for this.  In all my years I have never paid a diagnostics fee to Best Choice so this was very upsetting to learn.  

I hate writing any type of negative review.  But if you want to run your loyal customers away this is exactly how you do it!  Poor customer service and overcharging means I will be looking elsewhere.  I don't know if management or ownership has changed but they just aren't what they used to be.  I've called several other reputable, certified plumbers.  Not a single one of them charges a $150 diagnostics fee.  I scrolled through other reviews and I only see responses from Best Choice to the negative ones (mostly excuses on why the review is negative instead of trying to set a positive tone and fixing the situation).  I don't see any responses to positive reviews thanking customers.  In my opinion that is a reflection in itself of where Best Choice is at with their customer service.  I hope Best Choice can get it together.  At one point they were a really, really great company.

I called best choice out to give me a estimate on a violation i got from the water department. I had a 10 day shut off notice so it was a time sensitive mater to get this issue corrected. The Plumber Jim came out. He seemed like a nice dude. He told me he had to get pricing from the owner and that the office will email me over the estimate. I informed him about the 10 day shut off notice. He guaranteed me that the office will send me the estimate that day. That day turned in to 5 days and still no estimate. Every time i would call the office i would be rushed off the phone and promised the estimate would be emailed over to me shortly. I gave the office my email 3 times. Totally UN acceptable.  I called a different plumbing company out for a estimate i received the estimate onsite with the plumber and was able to sign the contract and get a date to get the work done. To this day still no email from best choice. If you do not want to do business with someone you need to let them know and not string the along. i will never use this company again. The way they do business is a mess.

Very thorough and dedicated to getting the job done right. We couldn't find a shut off valve and Jim R went above and beyond to try and locate it. We were unable to as the shut off was in the basement which we did not have access to at the time. I work for a property management company and we have used Best Choice for years and we will continue to do so for years to come.

They istated that they would provide the report the same day of the inspection, but days later did not have the report. However, Dana White, upon learning of the delay promptly responded and provided the report.

if you want honesty and transparacy, this is not the company.  They charged me 150 just to diagnose the problem, then went outside to order the part, I was never given the amount of the part, dont know if he already had the part, or if he had to buy the part,he came back in my house and gave me a price of 590, I admit I was desperate, so I accepted the fee believing I would get an itemized invoice.  What I got was a invoice with 2 items, service call 150 and installation440.  How much did the part cost? It could have cost 2 , 20  or 200, that price was not  explained.  I called the office and was told someone would get back to me, never happened.  i called again, and was given a bait and switch. I used this company in the past, never will again.  CHEATERS ALWAYS GET CAUGHT.

if they had negative numbers it would -100.  Crooks, I had my heater serviced two weeks ago and paid $150 service fee for the guy to simply use the manual switch to turn on my heater, when it would not function with the thermostat I turned the heater off as my house temp reached 90!  I called on Monday after the Saturday service call to be told that if someone comes out again, it would be another $150 service fee, I tried to tell them the person sent on Sat didn't do a thing other than engaged the manual override, and wanted my heater to be serviced for the fee I already paid them!   Because the tech who didn't look at my heater recommended a full system replacement, the person answering the phone said Sorry, your system needs to be replaced and sending someone out again will cost you another $150.  They said the guy who came out on Saturday was one of their best tech's... Really,.. best at what ripping people off.  they said Too, Bad .
I called another company to come look at my heater and guess what... the reset switch needed to be depressed and the system now works fine!  If you are looking for someone to take care of your heater don't call these people, they will just rip you off.    I wanted to support neighborhood business and called this company as a result.  If this place is ever recommended to you for any plumbing or heating needs... RUN! you will only be ripped off an aggravated.

This plumber was chosen by the Manchester group. I have a home protection agreement. My tenant was complaining the hot water was only lasting 10 minuites when taking a shower then it would get luke warm the plumber came out and said the water heater needed to be replaced. My service plan had $750 limit on trouble shooting and repairs $200 was used and no trouble shooting was done to fix the water heater the cost to install a water heater was $985. I should have only have to had paid $235 but instead I wound up paying $435. you should not have taken the $200 since you did not do any trouble shooting to repair the water heater.

Worst company ever!!! DO NOT CALL this company. My heater broke 2 weeks ago and they sent someone emergently on a Sunday to take a look. Great right? Wrong! They were able to get my enducer motor running again with WD-40 although they admitted that I would probably need a new one. They recorded the model number down on my receipt just in case. My heat shut down a week later and I called them to come fix it. However, apparently they had written down the wrong model number so had to come out again. Three days later, they sent a plumber who took a picture of my air conditioner (I didn't know it at the time). Two days later, I was told the model number was wrong (of course it was wrong since it was my A/C model number) and they had to come again. This time, they actually sent their heating service guy who recorded the correct number. The company called me the next day and told me the new enducer motor would not be delivered for another 4 days and then they could try to get someone out immediately to fix it. This was a total of NINE days with freezing temperatures in my home! I finally called another company who came the same day at 6 pm, ordered the part and had my motor installed by 10:30 the next morning (for $250 less than what Best Choice was quoting). Best Choice is super disorganized and clearly not knowledgeable about heating systems. Don't waste your time!!

I have been suffering the repercussions of jobs done by Best Choice THREE years ago.  I used them in the past and trusted them to do the last jobs that had to be done.  The main job was replacing a broken pipe under the tub that had broken and water was coming through the ceiling below.  I got workers I didn't know this time.  The day after the job(s) were done I reported to them that the water level in the tub was at the top of the drain and taking a shower ended up in you standing in water 6 inches deep.  Even the cement they used to patch up the tile floor where it was cut to access the pipes wasn't mixed properly.   It cracked the next day.  I had a year warranty and yet no one ever fixed it.  I had 2 other jobs on the list for that day.  They were botched as well.  My kitchen sink was ruined and they caused a flood in my basement which covered the entire floor.  The ceiling below was cut to get to the pipes also.  So I put up trash bags and taped this part of my ceiling with strong tape.  Anthony came out eventually and looked at everything but refused to do anything.  He did tell me the plumber who did my jobs was fired a week after he had done the work at my house.  It cost me a few thousand dollars to pay for these jobs - with a year warranty why didn't they stand behind their work.  This company became, greedy and so money hungry that they let good customers like me in the lurch.  I kept calling them because I can't afford to pay another plumber to fix their mistakes.  I'm a single mom and I don't know if they felt they could walk all over me or what happened to them.  What a disgrace to past relatives who started this company and then handed it over to a person who made a mockery of his predecessors.

I had used these guys to find out why the water was leaking in to my garage ceiling from my bathroom. Per my instruction plumber changed the piece behind the nozzles and the next day I find that area was leaking. Same plumber came back couldn't reproduce the same leak. Still My leak in the garage continued not their fault. I called this company back to get a free estimate for fixing this leak on the floor. A different guy came but he seemed he was so not concern about why I called him for. He said I have old copper pipes all over, they need to be replaced and the bathroom floor have to be cut out to get to it an be replaced too. I told him you are here to see why my bathroom floor is leaking. Since he showed no interest in that, I asked how much would it cost to change the shower drain on the floor. He said, $2800.00. I found out later all I needed was the bathroom floor be re-grouted.

Next my drain in the basement started to back up. So I called these guys still again but was on a Sunday. The guy who came put the snake through the wrong drain pipe at the curb regardless of me repeatedly telling him it's the wrong pipe but he didn't care. Charged me $128.00 but I got it back from the company the next day.

These people damaged my custom door and left my house a mess! Don told me he would mop up after he removed the heater...didnt do it.  My back door and wall in my laundry room were gouged--he wasn't going to say anything; I just happened to see it. Don said 'well, it is what it is'.  We have been calling since the night they left (a week ago today)..nobody has contacted us about anything.  Completely ignored. What goes around comes around...when they need a miracle in their family...they will be ignored too.

I was in need of a new furnace and energy-star was asking for 3950 on a budget I decided to look around. I e-mailed best choice and they tried contacting me several times until they reached me. I asked for an estistament which was much more reasonable. I paid half up front and the rest once completed. As for customer service it was ok and they were 1.5 hours late arriving to my house. They installed a brand new furnace  but couldn't get it running. The next day they had another gentleman come o8ut to trouble shoot who seemed more knowledgeable. He got it up and running from something that appeared to be pretty simple. I would this company to someone else but I would also suggest the next time they send out two people to install it shouldn't be 2 rookies.

I can not speak of thier skills but thier service is disgraceful.  At 9am Saturday I called for a drain cleaning. 2 drains were slow, I drain was clogged. I was given a 11 am -2 pm window.  1:22 pm I called asking for an ETA. Now the women I spoke to earlier was very snippy and said they are out on a call.  When asked if the plumber would be here by 2   or if  the could check with him, You would have thought I asked her them to pay me.  She rudely said she could not confirm they would come by 2 and say we should hear from them in 30 minutes.  A 2:37 the plumber called. I said I though he was not coming and he said OK and was about to hang up.  Then I told hime how long I have been waiting and asked the purpose of the call.  Was he coming to do work or just checking on the problem? He asked if I still wanted him to come and the work order had 5 drains on it. I asked how long it would take for him to get here he said his location and about 45  minutes away! 45 minutes if there is no trafic and he is speeding! I told him no.  He said he is not reponsible for the schedules.  Thier ad says  free estimates and 15 % discount.  Yeah right. I was given a price for cleaning 1 drain on the phone and told I had a $95 service fee if they couldn't fix it.  How did I not look them up on yelp before I called? They have poor reviews. I wish I could give negative stars.  A whole Saturday wasted! Roto-Rooter to the rescue!

In my opinion they did not finish the job they started.  We started the contracted with half the payment, second half paid after the plumbing was done.  The contract specifically said ALL CONCRETE INCLUDED.  They broke out more concrete than they wanted, said they were going to charge me an additional amount to fix it, refused to talk to me unless I agreed to sign a new contract.  I eventually hired someone else to fix the concrete.  I would highly advise anyone to NOT go with best choice plumbing, I was not satisfied with there work or integrity.  I was deceived, ignored and left with a job I personally did not like.

My experience with this company was terrible. They were to come on a Friday evening between 4 and 8; they called me midway through that window to say they couldn't make it but could be at my house at 8:00 am the next morning.  I stressed that it couldn't be later than that as I had a family event.  At 8:15 Saturday morning I got a call from their office that the technician was on his way and would be here soon.  Half an hour later he still hadn't arrived; when I called the office they checked in with him and told me he had a flat tire but it was being repaired and he would be here in 15-20 minutes.  I have no idea why the driver hadn't contacted me to tell me about this.  Another half hour and he's still not here; another call to the office and was told he was in traffic and was about 10 minutes away.  The technician called me himself a few minutes later - he was having trouble finding my place; he certainly could have called earlier about that.  At 9:45 he finally arrived.  I told him the toilet handle was loose and also that it kept running.  He was able to fix the handle but apparently did nothing else as the toilet is still running.  I will not use their services again.

I have been a customer for many years and have lost faith in them.  I don't know if they are short staffed or just poor schedulers.  I had an emergency and was told there were other people that scheduled appointments that got priority.  The next rime I tried scheduling an appointment and the day of was told there were emergencies that took precedence over my scheduled time.  In all instances I arranged to be off at work, only to have to take more time off when they did not arrive during the scheduled time frame.   No one seemed to care.  So much for trying to be a loyal customer.

I called best choice to clear my line as I had two back ups after very stormy rains, water returning through a 2 washing machine pipe connecting to a end of the house downspout 4 cast connection that was not capped [in expectation for relocating the machine]. After cupping it, the return came from the actual washing machine's 42 high pipe a few feet back [not the lowest point in the basement at all]. Only after bed storms. I asked for the whole line to be cleared. The guy tried to snake  the clog from my 2 pipe [which wasn't reasonable], refused to open a clean out on the same cast iron downspout but then had to open a no hub connection to snake the clog out that was 'right there' according to him. I told him that I paid for clearing the whole line [$135] and that he needed to do it properly and not have to return. He insisted it was all right as the water was 'running'. Water running, toilets included, wasn't the problem to start with and not the measure of this situation solved, but he left. I paid for line cleared as agreed, knowing that they'll have to come back. Sure enough, with the first stronger storm, there was a flood at the same area this time water not as clear. He came back, run the snake from the spot on no hub connection after the clean out for the half length of the line and reconnected it sloppily. I was away for a week, then after the Sunday storm [June 3, 2018] there was water [less then a flood though] at the same area as before. I was upset but busy to report. Exactly a week later [June 10] another night storm and more water at the same area. When I called today to ask them to come and clear the line finally or just finish the job I heard that: they give warranty for 30 days and that 'it has been 'almost* 30 days' and that their warranty covers only one return and only one entry [!?}; they insisted on offering* to come again for another full new payment. To do the same job they didn't do [actually, did partially] on the first place? What kind of warranty is that? Everything else irrelevant to my situation - which is back up only after strong storms - was brought up,  like ' the line was cleared, we could hear the toilet flushing' while line hasn't been stopped that way at all; toilets and other drainage in front of the block or at all was never an issue as I can use the washing machine with no problem; 'you are putting 'things' in it*; and we entered from two places already, meaning I suppose, the open 2 auxiliary right on the 4 cast iron [?] which is the place from which to clear the line anyway and not a 2.  That 'warranty' is a sham together with 'almost 30 days' and poking a snake somewhat. My toilet tank cracked and my toilet needed to be replaced.  I had another company come out and they wanted to charge me over $900 to install a new toilet and they didn't even have the toilet on the truck.  I called Best Choice and they were able to fit me in.  The tech came with a toilet on the truck and the price was $385.  I was very pleased with the service and I will definitely recommend them and use them again.

Called Best Choice Plumbing for problems in my bathroom and kitchen. The company sent Roman, He was on time, friendly and very good at his job. No more leaks. Thanks Roman!!

If I could do zero stars, I would! Had a problem with my shower not staying warm. It was either scolding hot or freezing cold. Rich came out to meet my mother in law to fix the problem. He took the shower faucet apart and cleaned it. I had a new shower/tub faucet for him to install but he told her this would resolve the problem. If not, it would be $160 to install the new faucet. It didn't fix the problem, so I called back to schedule an appointment. Took this afternoon off from work between 12-4 to meet with the plumber. When the office called to let me know they were sending the plumber out at 1:15, she asked if I was told the price. I told her and she then told me that they couldn't install it for that price and it was going to be another $225. So we were mislead into it being fixed the first time and costing an additional cost more than the original quote! I think this company comes out and does a quick fix knowing the problem won't be resolved so they can come back out and charge you more. I'm pissed! So I now have the afternoon at home, a shower that's still not fixed. I didn't hire them for the simple fact that it's just bad business to give me one price and then change the price at the last minute. Never again will I call them back.

I had a heating system installed a year ago and the technician broke my thermostat wire. The company replaced my thermostat with a cheap one. Still having problems 4 months later, they came out and replaced the wire on the thermostat and now when it's time to use my heating system again, the thermostat is not working again! Now they want to charge a $150 to just diagnose the problem and another fee to fix it. I wish I could sue this company. I would not recommend them at all.

I would like to give this company a negative rating.   I am a landlord and the property management company called Best Choice Plumbing when the tenant had a clogged toilet.  The plumber went in, claimed the problem is the water efficient toilet and needs toilet replacement.  Also he checked the bathtub, ran the water and said all good.   The charge?  $350 for de-clogging two drains, even though the plumber said the bathtub was all good.      Dana, the office manager at Best Choice, basically said it's the plumber's words against the tenants words, and refused to speak further.   She claimed the bathtub was smelly and plumber had to use the plunger, when I told her the tenant was present during the service call, and the plumber had no plunger, she quickly said there is no use arguing and will ask the plumber to call me back.   Right yeah, I am still waiting for the call.   I would warn anyone against using this company that makes money out of being dishonest, complemented by the lack of response.   If the repair person's name is Robbie, refuse service unless you consider yourself a blank check book.
