Our clothes washer hose rusted off. The pipes were also corroded. The person who did the repair was great. Great work. Fast. Professional. Price was actually affordable. I will definitely use them again.

I wouldn't use again. Another place that sends out drain techs instead of plumbers. Spent $150 for nothing- worked on a drain which he wasn't familiar with- (Z-Trap) and damaged the line where it was leaking through my garage roof after he left. Hard lesson learned- get estimate ahead of time.

NOTE- I talked to Joe and he was upset this happened and destroyed my check. I'll leave my review at 3 stars since he didn't charge me.

I had a simple leak in my bathroom on the valves. A job that should not have cost half what I ended up paying ($500 after Joe took off $50). Joe made it seem like it would be a nightmare! We have to take all the floorboards up and replace the pipes with new ones.  I protested his price but he insisted. I figured since he's been a plumber 50 years he knows more than me.
Truth is He looked at that leak and new instantly it'd be a simple fix.

His worker left and came back from Home Depot then cut off the 3 valves and soldered on new ones. Thats about an hour total. HE NEVER TOUCHED THE FLOORBOARDS. The price remained $550. He stated I said I MIGHT have to go in the floorboards. You still owe $550.

What?!

The job should not have cost $550!  I was cheated.
He also tried to get me to fix the clogged Shower drain...using the same embellishment scare tactics.  Said it would cost $2300!!
I got a new plumber to do it for $300 the next day.  It was a very simple fix.  He cut the floor open and replaced the clogged Trap.
It took a combined 30 minutes.

After my original review Joe put my name, profession and ADDRESS in his response which was deleted by Yelp after I flagged it.
Dirty.
Then he sent me a message calling me a Fat Overweight Slob.

Classless.

My Profession and where i live has NOTHING to do with our dispute...And it's a violation of my rights and Yelp's guidelines.

The bottom line is i Failed to get a written contract before the work started.  Now i know.

A friend was witness to racist comments from one of the service men. Spend your money elsewhere.

Had Joseph's out once to fix a thermostat in a radiator in our kid's room. He and his nephew were nice guys and did a good job at a reasonable price. We talked about doing more steam work throughout the house. Here we are a couple of months later and I called about a small crack in a hose line at the rear of our house. Joe seemed annoyed to be getting the call but said he would send someone out the following morning. After calling me annoyed that his guy called the wrong house, his plumber showed up, took a look and said it would be easy enough. He needed to call Joe to get a price. Joe then told him that it would be $225. To repair a tiny section of pipe for a hose line that's totally accessible and should take no more than 15 minutes, at most. I respectfully declined to the gentleman.

2 minutes later Joe called me and aggressively said are you kidding me!? You can't pay $225 after I sent someone out there!? Don't ever think about calling us again!. Was literally yelling. He then hung up. Beware. Nothing affordable or friendly about him.

There are better options and I have someone coming out today for under $100.

I had no problems with the work since it was done almost 3 years ago. However over the past week or week and a half while the temperatures in Philadelphia have been in the single digits, my hot water line froze up completely. I didn't detect a leak, but, as a precaution, I shut off the water to that area in the basement anyway. Today, as the temperature is above freezing (37 degrees), I checked it again by turning the water on. It's running fine and there doesn't appear to be any leaks.

So I called Joe to get his opinion or advice about it; like maybe tell me what I should expect or what I should do. As soon as he answered my call and saw that it was me, he immediately started to complain to me that he didn't want to do any work for me because I always complain about his prices. That's not even why I called him. I tried to explain why I was calling but he kept talking over me, never giving me a chance to explain. When I finally was able to speak he told me that he didn't mean to be rude. I told him he was being rude. He then started to complain some more about me and how he'd be wasting his time coming to my house. When I was FINALLY able to ask about the circumstances of the job they had done in May of 2015 he acted like it's my fault for not understanding that pipes freeze. I said that was the very reason I had him do the job; to keep the pipes from freezing.

If he had told me that, even after paying $1,200 to wrap the pipes with heat tape, the pipes would still freeze, I would definitely have sought out other options. In May 2015 I was lead to believe that this would solve the problem. But now he says I shouldn't have assumed that. And he kept saying that the work was only warranteed for 1 year. Of course, I knew that (it says that in the contract), but - again - that's not why I was calling

My biggest complaint in all of this (and that's why I'm writing this) is that I called him today for answers, but instead what I got was rudeness, a snotty attitude, and condescension. I would not recommend Joseph's Affordable to anyone.

Rip Off Plumber.   I hired Joseph's(my regular plumber was too busy) to replace a corroded iron return pipe to the laundry room radiator.   $2100.   The radiator always produced very good heat because of the short run from boiler to the laundry room.  After Joseph's repair, there is barely any heat coming off of it.  
They installed a small pex line which didn't match the size of the iron pipe it was attached to.   This restricts the flow of the circulation.  
Their workman were very unprofessional.   They tore the insulation off and left it in the crawl space and they left standing water in the basement.   They also failed to connect another pipe in the crawl space that was detached during the repair.  
I complained and they returned to reconnect the pipe and dispose of the insulation.   I had already taken care of the water.  
Joseph's did return again when I explained I wasn't getting much heat out of the radiator.   All he did was deny.    
I had my usual plumber, Rumpf, come out.   He agreed that the wrong size line had been installed.    Not only was it the wrong size but it was the wrong type.  Joseph's installed pex line for water not pex line for heating.  
I'm waiting for his estimate to install the correct pex line.

It was late Friday afternoon and my wife and I came home to a new Great Lake. Our hot water heater decided to die. We had our three cats floating around on planks of wood and begging is to get on the ball. I made a call to Joseph's and he personally came over in 20 minutes as my shut-off valve broke. He was able to shut it off and sçheduled a new one early Saturday. The price was around average. The only drawback was that his workman was not real friendly.

Joe was very knowledgeable and willing to fit me into his schedule to check and teach me about a boiler for a potential house. He worked around my work day and scheduled me for a next day appointment. Very professional and has years of experience. Would recommend to anyone that wants quality honest work. Will be using Joe in the future!

I recently has Joe and his crew come out to my house for a estimate and he installed 2 brand new crown royal heaters for my duplex.

The customer service was great and the got rid of my old heaters which is a plus. The work they did was great the installed the heaters and cleaned up after they were done.

If you are looking for a company to install a new heater i reccomend Josephs affordable plumbing. The price was reasonable he beat other companies that came out to the house.

A short while ago Joseph did a plumbing adjustment on my baseboard heating system.  He was very prompt, polite, friendly, and reasonably priced.  I will definitely call him again for any future plumbing work I may need.

I had a big job - leaking cast iron pipe under my house slab which fed into my basement cast iron piping a floor below.  My tile and slab had to be broken up, the dirt below had to all be removed, and my basement concrete foundation wall needed to be opened up to complete the repair.  Joseph and his team were at my home for 2 days, they knew what they were doing, and they left things as tidy as it could be left given the mess of the big job.  They will be coming back to replace the bathroom and sink once our tile work is completed; I would not hesitate to call them in the future.

We had an emergency where our bathroom started leaking into our dining room -- on a Sunday. Joseph came out right away. Turned out we had a cracked stack that involved gutting the bathroom and dining room. Joseph hand-held us through all the steps that would happen, gave estimates that turned out to be spot-on, and recommended a fantastic contractor to repair the dining room and parts of the bathroom.

Joseph's crew are really good fellows and really nice guys. They worked their butts off in the middle of a hot summer in a sweltering, small space.

Above all in an age where so many contractors are remarkably bad communicators, this is where Joseph particularly shines. He pretty much called me every day that he wasn't on site, even on weekends.

When we had a minor issue 6 months later, he was out the next day and fixed it at no charge.

This is no average Joe. He's excellent Joe.

I can't say enough good things about Joseph's Affordable. I had a leak in my basement and the came same day in a Sunday. They unclog the outside drain. They throughly explained everything and were just terrific. You can tell they truly do care about their customers. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a plumber. They are truly great.

I needed to have my hot water heater replaced. Joseph's called me back in 5 min with a great price. The Plummer was there in 30 min and had my new water heater installed in 3 hours. He even took the old one away. Great customer service!

Nightmare ! Woke up to blocked sewer line all backed up into basement.Called Joseph's Affordable, Had a guy out and all fixed within 2hrs of first call and a great price for a Emergancy Sunday morning call out , will be putting him on speed dial.

Came out the same day of call to installl new water heater. Also, removed old heater.   Were done in less then a couple of hours, and  was given a great price compared to other plumbers.  Will definitely use again.

Called Joseph's Affordable Plumbing for an estimate running a water line from my basement straight up through the floor to a closet for my washer and install vent for the dryer.
Joe came out right away to check out the job and gave me an estimate. I had other estimates so I pretty much knew what I was looking at. They all told me including Joe, yeah this is a all day job.. I had prices from $1350-$1500. Joe's price was right in the middle at $1400 and could do the job right away. Since I lost a week and a half waiting on another plumber, I was excited the job was finally going to get done. They came the next day at 9am and were done, cleaned up and out by 12:00. There was a leak in the copper pipe that (Steve) welded. I called and spoke to Joe and he had Steve come back and fix it. I got the electrical done over the holiday and Joseph's plumbing came back and connected everything.
It's all good. Everything works, no leaks, a little pricey but so were other plumbers. I think it was priced on the fact it was a all day job but didn't turn out to be. Other than that I'm happy.

Joe and his crew have done work at our house for years from small jobs to big ones - new heater, new hot water heater. They are always fair on price, clean and considerate! Joe always returns calls promptly and show up on time. Excellent service and workmanship!!

Called Joseph's Affordable on a Saturday after discovering a leak - they were at the house within an hour helping us to find the problem.  They were professional and courteous - and replaced valves in our basement.  I will definitely be calling again for any of our future plumbing needs.  Bottom line: excellent service at an affordable price!

He quoted me a very fair price and the men he sent to fix the problem did a good job!

Went to get the mail and noticed water coming from the vent in the sidewalk had everything replaced from the house to the curb 10 year's ago so figured it was clogged.  Called Joseph at 11:18 and he was curbside by 12:42 quoted me $175 on the phone. He came out and plunged the vent and was unsuccessful at clearing the problem and made arrangements to have a another person snake the vent and he spent about 2 hours trying and still had a problem clearing the blockage. Then he went and checked my neighbors vents on both sides of me and found the same thing water in the vents winds up it's the main sewer with the problem so now I have to wait for the city to get the problem solved but money well spent I don't have to worry about some fly by night plumber telling me that I need to have the lateral replaced costing me thousands of dollars and I can get the money I spent back by filing a claim with the water dept. Very professional courteous and a man of his word and quote. I now have a new plumber. Thanks Joseph!

Ended up not needing the services because I fixed the clog myself, but had instant response on weekend.

I called Josephs Affordable at 2 am on Memorial Day for a broken toilet line in my upstairs bathroom.  I wasn't expecting anyone to call until the morning. To my surprise the owner called me back right away. I explained the situation, he came out first thing in the morning and fixed my pipe. I felt as though it was a very reasonable charge considering it was Memorial Day. He also recommended a cleanup service that came out the same day as well.
