Best Gas Furnace Installation in Austin TX
I don't write many reviews but as I'm sitting here in my hot ass house $420 poorer using fans and mother nature to cool down I've chosen to share my experience. I call Stan's when my 2 year old ac unit decided to stop cooling the house. I've used them before for regular maintenance in my other houses so i just called them out of familiarity. It was after hours but it took about 6 hours for the technician to come out which is fine. It was about 11pm when he made it. He was very professional and I appreciate that. He was able to identify the problem quickly which was a freon leak. He gave me a cost estimate of about $400 for the service call and the freon which is fine when you're getting help at 11pm and your pregnant wife is baking in a 80 degree house. He tells me i'll send someone out tomorrow to look for the source of the leak. We won't charge you another service charge. He also tells me your ac is probably under warranty but we will have to check. I pull out the warranty but he doesn't bother to look at it. He says i'll have my office check on it. At this point i'm pretty satisfied because my house is cooling down and progress is being made. The the next morning i get a call asking for the money. It starts off pleasant but I tell her the job isn't finished yet. I still have a freon leak someone is supposed to come back and look for it. The lady starts getting testy and firmly says something like sir you need to pay for the service call and freon from last night. I tell her someone is supposed to come out today and find the leak. She tells me that is a different service and you will have to schedule that with the scheduling department. So i reluctantly pay and get promptly transferred to another department. They schedule me for a freon leak detection service same day because i wasn't already scheduled for anything even though my wife stayed home all day waiting for a technician to come. Then i get the invoice for the service and this where i get pissed. The invoice says 7lbs of freon that i just paid $300 for needs to be evacuated and new freon needs to be added after repair. It cannot be reused. I was not told this prior to he tech putting it in. Another tech comes out around 6pm the next day after my wife stayed home all day waiting to tell us that they never installed the system, which i never said they did, so i should just call whoever installed it and claim it under warranty. I call Lawhon AC who installed my unit and they tell me they installed it over 2 years ago it's not under warranty and asks why didn't Stan's just fix it? Now after 24 hours my house is hot again because all the freon i just paid $300 for probably leaked out. So basically I paid hundreds of dollars for one cool night of freon bliss that would have leaked out or would have to be replaced anyway and i'm stuck with no one coming to fix the leak. Great!

We were quoted a less expensive price than another place, and they were able to come out quickly to make repairs. The employee explained everything to my husband thoroughly.

This plumbing company is a rip off. I had them give me a quote and it was over $1,500 more than 2 other plumbing companies. I would never use their services and felt like other should know how overpriced they are. Scam artists!

Part 2!!! I totally forgot and have not submitted part two of my experience so here we go.
Kudos again to Carey Weaver who headed up our project and gave us our quote. Part 2 was the return visit to add insulation, recraft some of the ducts and add a solar attic fan. Box placed one and a half inch duct board and used about 3 gallons of sealant to ensure that all our ducts were making the best use of the new airflow. They also blue ran 21 bags of insulation.
I have miss placed the paper that I wrote the names of the gentleman that came on the second service visit because I wanted to acknowledge them. As soon as I find it I will add that information to this review.

My outdoor gas fireplace wouldn't light. I discovered, after having a gas fireplace company out who couldn't fix the problem, that I needed to call a plumber. Charlie at Parobek Plumbing came out to assess the situation. He made several different house calls, trying different things and persevered until he got the fireplace to work. It took him working with the manufacturer of certain parts, etc-- lots of complications-- to get it working. I am so grateful to him for solving the issues and getting it to work. Although plumbers are expensive, as we all know, it was his willingness to do what it took to fix the problem, with multiple service calls, that made the cost seem reasonable. I highly recommend Parobek Plumbing.

We found out a week ago that we needed to replace our AC and furnace. It's a big purchase! We called a couple of companies for quotes. Mark Hogan from ABC was on time, friendly, professional, and honest. He had lots of helpful information to share, and great paperwork and info packet to help us understand what we needed and what we were looking at. It was a very hard decision, and we ended up going with another company. Even though it's not the same as earning commission, I wanted to make sure to give him a good review and let others know that my husband and I trusted him and thought he made a difficult process much easier.

We had guests for the weekend. They told me Friday night at almost midnight that 2 drains were clogged. Lantz's team was out there by noon on Saturday, fixed both items and gave great advice on prevention. I love them!

Called them to get my a/c repaired - technician said it would be a minimum of $800 in parts plus labor. He left to get parts and never came back. After trying to reach him several times and getting voicemail with no response I called another repair company whose technician showed up first thing the next morning and had me up and running in 15 minutes for $154.
----UPDATE----
I originally gave this company one star, for the reasons outlined above. After receiving a call from their service manager, Martin, I am revising that review and giving them 5 stars.
It was apparent that he was just as appalled as I was by his technician's lack of ethics in attempting to overcharge me, and his failure to respond to my numerous calls.
He assured me that this is NOT how his company does business, and offered to compensate me for my repair expenses and give me a year's service at no cost. He informed me that the technician involved had been terminated.
I was very impressed by his sincerity and insistence on making things right.
I had initially chosen this company based on the great reviews I read, and I see now that those reviews were justified.
Obviously, the technician, not the company, was at fault.
So what began as a bad experience has turned into a restoration of my faith in humanity.
What a great customer service experience!

Writing this after getting a spam call from them. I used them to work on a few things in my home last year and each time they pushed to do more work. Obviously their owner isn't happy with just being expensive and doing honest work. Instead they offer to do additional work, for example they offered to change or added LED based canned lights. The price? Only $500 to do so for 4 canned lights to be replaced with LED lights and maybe even I could have an additional 2 installed if I had a place I needed (literally making up work).
I went online and found that the LED replacement lights for canned lights run about $15 each and I replaced them myself in about 2-3 minutes each. So $60 worth of equipment and 15 minutes of time and I did the work myself. It was trivial and they wanted $500 for this?
Find an honest shop that won't try to screw you, SALT is definitely not the place unless you want to pay exorbitant prices.

We had our 2-zone control board go out in April while under factory/part warranty. They came and replaced it for something like $200 for just labor, which was cheaper than the single other competitor I had provide a quote (gotta check the box/ get a 2nd opinion right?). We then went ahead and booked the twice a year maintenance program with them since I genuinely liked the guy who came out and our HVAC system is hitting 5 years old soon. They came back and did the air conditioning spring cleaning part about a week or two later. You pay for the two part service up front.
We get a notice in October it's time for the heater portion of the two part maintenance plan. It hadn't gotten cold so we put it off an extra month. Finally we scheduled it and turn the heater on and discover our heater isn't working at all.
They come out and say 'whoever replaced the board' didn't wire it correctly. Two of the wires were flipped so the signals weren't properly telling the heater to engage. We informed them they were the ones who did the replacement, so they fixed it and did the heater cleaning portion of the maintenance program and we all moved on. Everything now seems to be working. This service guy was not the same individual as in April but also really personable and polite.
The service overall is quick. The price isn't bad. But I would have preferred they wire the parts properly the first time instead of me discovering issues 7 months down the line. If we weren't part of the maintenance program I'm not sure if they would have tried to charge us for a diagnostic visit and labor, but I would hope not. I wish I could give them 4.5 stars because the service guys are all really nice and personable (and clean/covered during covid).

So, the owner replied fast and said if I wanted, their manager John could give me a call. I figured, why not. I sent my number in a private message. It's been over a week later and no one named John nor has any employee from Radiant given me a call. Glad I rated them with one star in the first place.

Jonathan is as good as it gets. He is the complete professional -- highly competent, extremely courteous, and, based on multiple visits (for unrelated plumbing issues), is as honest as the day is long. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about him or his performance. One of our many issues (we have a very old home) was a sewage smell which permeating the entire house. This has been going on for several years, believe it or not. We've had several professionals out to deal with it, but to no avail. Jonathan, on the other hand, diagnosed it and fixed the problem in no time flat (well under an hour). For the first time in a very long time, the only smell one is confronted with when entering our house is whatever is baking in the oven. Jonathan is a miracle worker.

Guy arrived 24 hours late and charged me $547.90 to snake out my drain for an hour.
Never got a receipt; no explanation why it cost 3x what it should.

Had Jon Wayne come to check on my AC last week. They said they would be at my home between 8 and noon, the man arrived at 12:30. So they waved the service call. (I had to ask for this, they never offered). Instead of trying to fix the issue, the technician was more interested in selling me a whole new AC system! (inside and outside units, $9k Plus) when he saw I wasn't going to go with a whole new system, he quoted me $426 for a part which I can buy from Amazon for $18.
I felt like I was just being ripped off.
No way would I recommend Jon Wayne,
I'm gonna use the mom and pop companies from now on.
UPDATE: I bought the part I need a few days ago from Johnstone supply (Alamo downs Pky) for $30 and I'm doing great in my nice cold home!

This company is GARBAGE lead by a GARBAGE human being. I wish there were a way to give negative stars. This is a very long story, but Yelp won't let me post-it in its entirety. So, short version. They LIED to us, GASLIT us and WILLINGLY AND KNOWINGLY left us without hot water FOR 6 (S I X) months. I am a disabled Veteran and they found every way possible to to screw us over for 6 months. Avoid this company LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! At the end of it all they left me with appliance PTSD, exacerbated back problems, and a burning ulcer. I spent 4 months being screwed around by them, having them attempt to make us pay for warranty work that they didn't do, missed a total of 2 weeks of work (over the course of the 6 months) waiting for techs that only called to say that they wouldn't be there 4 times out of that 2 weeks. I'm not perfect, but I DID hold it together & only went off on them 1 time in the first 4 months and only 2 times. more in the last 2 months. They sent out techs who ACTUALLY SAID Yeah, they only send us to the difficult customers. That's a direct quote. Apparently, I was difficult because I wanted them to do their job & get our hot water back?!? We spent 6 months schlepping pot after pot of lukewarm water from the kitchen to the bathroom just to take a little wipedown bath. My child had to go to school feeling nasty more often than not because friends and family can only allow us to bathe at their place so many times. They made us pay for an electrician to prove that the problem wasn't electrical, only to whine about the fact that it wasn't electrical and I had to miss YET ANOTHER day of work so they could send their own electrician (because they didn't believe the the PHYSICAL PROOF I SENT THEM) Who agreed wholeheartedly with the electrician THEY MADE.ME PAY FOR AND REFUSED TO REIMBURSE FOR). This jerk is CHEAP!!! His ridiculous commercials make me physically ill.
