If I could give an OUTSTANDING RATING I would! This Company encompasses all of the high quality standards a customer would look for in a professional, ethical, moral, and dutiful Air Conditioning and Plumbing Company. Each times these professionals arrive to my home to fix any issues there is nothing less than respect, transparency, solid communication, and they uphold their companies values. Shout out to the last Plumber who came out, RICH! He was just wonderful! He made sure my water heater had hot water, engaged my grandson in conversation, and even got to know a few things about me and shared his own stories. Now that is absolute customer service! Thank you Christianson ACP!!

Worst customer service. 5 minute warning call instead of 30-20 noted when scheduling. I was putting my infant to sleep and the tech banged down the door like a cop waking my kid up who was in a serious fit from the loud bang. Mind you I have a sign that says please don't knock. He was incredibly rude and looked at me like I was unjustified in explaining why his knock was inappropriate. Then when I asked if he could remove his shoes or I can provide shoe covers he refused and said I never remove my boots. After a back and forth he conceded and found some in his truck
Throughout the entire service appointment he was very condescending and said that he did not hear a problem with our vents which is what he was here to check. They were clearly making a very loud noise and I also had video that I sent to the company prior to scheduling this appointment. Do not use them they were forced upon me by a warranty company and find somebody else who is more friendly and will not come into your house with a grumpy attitude and bad energy.
Worst company to work with

They came when they said they would, were quick to diagnose the issue and resolve it. Were up front about cost and didn't try to tack on extra fees. Can't really ask for more. Recommended.

I used to think that Christianson was the last of the honest contractors. No longer. I guess all good things must come to an end. Uncaring, money grubbing, lazy, and I'm afraid, LYING.
I hired an inspector, who said that the AC system was not working correctly, so I hired Christiansen to come fix it; they charged several hundred dollars to come out, and said everything is fine.

Now summer is upon us, and the thing can't even drop the temperature 10° inside. THIS IS TEXAS!!  AC is LIFE or death!
Rather than admit that they screwed up, and hightail it back to fix the system they didn't diagnose properly, they want another hundred dollars just to come by. I'm DONE. I was a potential customer for multiple locations. I'm glad I know who not to trust before dumping000S more dollars into this pit.

Now, the arduous process of finding a reliable, HONEST AC contractor begins again. sigh

They did not show up and do the job they were contracted to do. They kept lying and saying they were coming fast forward to 2 months later and they finally came but did not even finish the job. Not only that they did not even tell anyone they did not finish it. Mind you this is a whole piece of an HVAC system that is noticeable. They have not responded for two weeks now and the job is still not completed.

DO NOT USE THEM!!!

The rep I talked to was rude, was drinking and had beer in the vehicle. I worked construction for 7 years and if I pulled a stunt like this I wouldn't have a job.

when you call Christianson A/C for a sales person - to upgrade an   old unit - you are given 2 choices -  take it or leave it.  No contact with the sales person unless you call them. they  use to be the best but I have my doubts.  surely someone out there cares about the customer..

We had our 2-zone control board go out in April while under factory/part warranty. They came and replaced it for something like $200 for just labor, which was cheaper than the single other competitor I had provide a quote (gotta check the box/ get a 2nd opinion right?). We then went ahead and booked the twice a year maintenance program with them since I genuinely liked the guy who came out and our HVAC system is hitting 5 years old soon. They came back and did the air conditioning spring cleaning part about a week or two later. You pay for the two part service up front.

We get a notice in October it's time for the heater portion of the two part maintenance plan. It hadn't gotten cold so we put it off an extra month. Finally we scheduled it and turn the heater on and discover our heater isn't working at all.

They come out and say 'whoever replaced the board' didn't wire it correctly. Two of the wires were flipped so the signals weren't properly telling the heater to engage. We informed them they were the ones who did the replacement, so they fixed it and did the heater cleaning portion of the maintenance program and we all moved on. Everything now seems to be working. This service guy was not the same individual as in April but also really personable and polite.

The service overall is quick. The price isn't bad. But I would have preferred they wire the parts properly the first time instead of me discovering issues 7 months down the line. If we weren't part of the maintenance program I'm not sure if they would have tried to charge us for a diagnostic visit and labor, but I would hope not. I wish I could give them 4.5 stars because the service guys are all really nice and personable (and clean/covered during covid).

Christianson sent a Plummer to my elderly mothers house to check on a leak she had. The Plummer barely looked around and claimed the leak was coming from the AC unit that was located in the attic and scheduled an AC tech to come out. One was not available for 4 days which means she would be without water for 4 days since it had to be cut off to stop the leak. Once she informed me of this I called Christianson on her behalf. Her AC unit is not in her attic. I had another AC company come out the same day and was told that the leak was in the wall and was not an AC issue. Christianson refused to send the Plummer back out to check again and said she had to wait for the AC tech which would be in 4 days. This is unacceptable when she already paid the $150 free for the Plummer to come out. I canceled the appointment and called anther Plumbing company that could come out the same day.

Our air conditioning unit went out over Labor Day weekend. I had a quote from them on Tuesday and spent Wednesday gathering 2 other bids. Christianson came in as the most competitive out of the 3. Brand new A/C unit installed before 2pm on Friday. The technician who did the install was an outstanding professional. I was surprised by the reviews that were left this summer. We use Christianson across the board, for years,  and never experienced anything less then great service.

I had a bad experience with a prior A/C Heating company. They were incompetent and unprofessional. But when I called Christianson A/C and heating it was just the opposite. They came and saved the day! They showed up earlier than I expected, knowledgeable, professional, and highly competent. I highly recommend this company for your A/C and Heating.

I called to see if I could schedule an appointment to have their AC team come and look at my system to see if it's working properly due to having higher temperatures upstairs. My downstairs will be set at 68-69 and the upstairs will be 82+ at times. I understand heat rises but wanted to make sure the system was working properly to have piece of mind as my house is just over a year old since we closed on this new build. She was quick to say unfortunately there's nothing we can do because heat rises. Thanks for being such a company, I'll make sure to use another company in the future.

Disappointing to say the least.  We have had ongoing issues after this Company installed a new air conditioning system in our home.   Today, we found pieces of fiber glass insulation in our son's crib that came from the HVAC vent above the crib.  We will never again use or suggest using this Company for those expecting professional service.

I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of help received especially since my unit from them is less than 3 years old. Do NOT call them on the weekend and pay the emergency on call amount because they don't disclose that if they don't have the part in the truck with them that you've wasted your money. Instead of helping with a solid solution their answer was to pay $250 more to get the warrantied part that was needed or find another company (from the woman on the phone's mouth). I should have known the service was going to be bad. That same weekend that I first purchased my home with units installed by them (newly built) we had no hot water (it was WINTER & I had a newborn) they were extremely rude when telling me that no hot water was not an emergency.

Don't waste your time or money.

The realty company who manages the house we lease uses Christianson for plumbing and AC. This is not the company we would choose. The technician is rude and apparently thinks that he doesn't need to explain what he's doing or why. He also doesn't know who his manager is or who we should talk to with questions.
However the main issue is that this company does not communicate. They told me a part was needed to repair the A/C , it had to be overnighted and someone would be out first thing in the morning. At 11am I had to call for an update, they said the technician was out on a job and would come afterwards. At 2pm there was still no update or communication.
The manager dismissed the behavior of the technician and simply stated they do not know how long jobs take nor can they give any accurate ETAs.
Do not recommend this company at all.

Christianson plumbing came highly recommended by a close friend who is a contractor so I was looking forward to great, honest, friendly work and but unfortunately got just the opposite.

Maybe they do great work with large volume clients, but if you have a personal, residential problem go ahead and pass on them. Try O&M plumbing or Blue Dragon instead.

In addition to their cost structure shifting last minute (20 mins before their contract plumber came; from $90/first half hour to $2.25/min after for a water filter install to $200 flat fee), the plumber was unhelpful when we found that our product was a lemon.

All this would've left us giving a 3 star experience, but to cap off our experience, when we called to give the gentle nudge/feedback that we were miffed about the last minute cost shift, we were rudely yelled out and addressed in a condescending, unhelpful tone by the operator.

You can find much, much better. Hard pass on Christianson HVAC & Plumbing!

We just moved into our new (build) home 5 days ago and our heat wasn't working so I called Christianson since they installed our two HVAC during the build.

Christianson told me that since our builder didn't request to have the heat turned on I needed to call my builder and have the builder call them. Not the best customer service as they could've called the builder to work things out but they rather have their paying customer take extra steps. I requested that a manager call me and never received a call back till this day.

I called my builder and they worked things out and a day later Christianson sent someone out to turn our heat on. Fast forward to today one of my iDevices thermostats is power cycling on and off and I am not able to adjust the temperature. So I call Christianson again and get the run around. I'm told to watch the videos so I know how to program the thermostat. I explain to the rude lady that I programmed the other one downstairs so I know what I'm doing. She continues to tell me that I need to try again and to send them a video so they can see what's going on.

I sent the video of the defective thermostat around 10AM and asked to speak with a manager and was told they were busy. It's now 8PM and no call, no reply back to email.

This is par for the course and clearly Christianson doesn't care. They got their money and I'm stuck with horrible customer and a malfunctioning thermostat.

*Update*
Our builder Scott Felder was able to replace our faulty thermostat on 1/20 (Thank you!) which we greatly appreciate. All HVAC issues have now been addressed and cared for.

The A/C had stopped blowing cold air on Saturday morning. Christianson had done the install of our unit (new home build) so I called and they were able to service it three hours later. David was friendly and efficient. He quickly diagnosed the issue (broken capacitor), had a replacement part in his truck, and replaced it. Maybe it's because they did the install and know to have those parts, or we got lucky, or they're always super prepared with parts on hand, regardless, it was the best A/C repair experience we've ever had. Plus the fee was extremely reasonable considering it was a weekend and short notice.

For over ten years we had a service contract with these folks. We would be charged in the fall and the price would also cover a spring visit to service the air conditioner. However, this past spring they refused to come out, citing COVID concerns.  We saw their trucks in our neighborhood in the following months, but they never came for our maintenance. I have called three times seeking a refund for the last half of the service contract. They now claim that they do not offer refunds on unfulfilled contracts. We have changed to another a/c unit provider. Needless to say, we are very disappointed in Christianson.

I have done business with this company both H&AC and plumbing for 10 years.  They still have a $99.95 maintenance for H&AC so I use them each season-their scheduling has gotten very bad in the past year or so.  Definitely need new employees.  I have rescheduled my AC check for the 3rd time just a while ago as the technician didn't show for this morning's appt & no one bothered to contact me saying there was a scheduling mishap.  This also happened a year or so ago & I got an apology from the service mgr. & stayed with them-no more.  They show up May 26th for the last time only because I have already paid them.  Unless you have all day to wait, with no courtesy call if they are late/no show, go with another company. I plan to do just that.

We have used Christian for the past four years.  Since our home is new construction we signed up for the yearly maintenance program. In that time we have spent over 700.00 on our system for parts not covered by warranty. We had a maintenance team come out last week and gave us a 100%  on our A/C heating system.
This past week when we went to turn on our heat, no heat. We called Christianson and the maintenance team came back out and charged us 146.00 for a bad coil. When I asked the technician if I could have the old part he told me I couldn't have it.
I find that very suspect why they were want to keep a part that wasn't working properly. We have decided to find another company. We no longer find them trustworthy and reliable.

This is the company to call if you want GREAT service from an honest reputable company.   After having a terrible experience during one of the hottest weeks in Texas with a different company ---Steven Doepke from Christianson saved us.   They replaced our entire HVAC system on literally a days notice.  Somehow Steven managed to squeeze us in and saved us after almost a week of temps in the mid 80s in our home.
We suffered for a week dealing with One Guard Home warranty (now cancelled) and the dishonest company they referred us too.
We should have called Christianson to begin with--we've worked with them before and knew them to be good.  But that stupid home warranty!!!!
Don't use home warranty's ....call a reputable dealer like Christianson!!

My water heater bit the dust so I called Christianson to see if it could be repaired.  As I feared, the unit was pronounced DOA.  I elected to replace it with a new tankless unit and was shocked to learn that my plumber Jeff would be able to source a new Navien unit and could stay to install it that same afternoon! While Jeff dismantled and removed the old heater a helper picked up the new one and drove to my house with it.  The two guys worked late to get the heater installed and everything worked beautifully.  Both Jeff and Joseph were professional and courteous and answered all my questions.  This deal couldn't have gone much better.  A++++++

(slightly amended because 2k was an OK rate given how much the parts are...and trusting that they did a good job doing the work)

Unfortunately, I'm giving these guys a two star rating due to the lack of communication throughout the process. So, my wife and I recently found out that our house had a leak, and we called these guys out to fix it.

They charged their upfront service fee to asses, then charged us $330 dollars to fix the problem - apparently it was in two places, our coolant was low and something was broken inside one of the vents.

Our guy left saying he put in a temporary fix for now (didn't tell us what that was) then said they would call us back to come in and finish the work.

We never got a call back...and when we finally called them they said it would be $2,000 to put in the permanent fix - I asked what the temporary fix was, and they said it was adding coolant and doing a leak inspection....so if I payed 300+ dollars for coolant and a leak inspection then wtf was the service fee for...they offered to credit us back the service fee, but we paid 2k when we thought the problem was fixed for $330....also, 330 dollars seems excessive for coolant and a leak inspection

Furthermore, they said the coolant alone would not stop the leak - and they neglected to tell us that for several weeks during 100 degree weather! They said that they could not get in touch with my wife, but she said she never received a call...

Lack of communication, lack of critical thought and customer care. We ended up paying them 2k to finish fixing what they started, but I would not recommend this company or use them again.

I called with a clogged sink, two dripping sinks and a slow drain. The clogged sink and slow drain were fixed, but the two dripping sinks are still dripping... the plumbers sent out said it was our water temperature (?). I finally just cut it off because it seemed like there was no conclusion to the faucets dripping. I left three stars bc I'm just happy the sink was at least cleared same day, but I wonder if I could have tackled that with a sink plunger.

DR.HORTON HOME IN TEMPLE, TX
I'm not the only one in this neighborhood going through this with Christianson. Their practices are a hot topic on our Facebook page.

I have a brand new home 5 yrs old. My unit was installed and under warranty with this company. Over the last 2 years (brand new unit) I have spent over $2000 in labor cost for them to come out around 5 times for this same unit. They refuse to own up to say that the unit is defective and they refuse to do anything about it.

Today is Saturday 06/01/19 came home to inside temps of 90 degrees and water leaking through the first floor ceiling (same issue they fixed last few times). Called them and they are telling me $125 for a diagnostic fee. Last month when the unit stopped working we paid $80 for them to come out and tell us that it's our thermostat well we got new thermostats  and it's still not working. The last time they had to pay to remove my first floor ceiling once and today it's flooded again.

Why do I need to pay a diagnostic fee for something you already know that has an issue. Each time they come out they replace a part and charge us an arm and a leg for labor.  I told the lady on the phone I am not paying that fee. Well she called back and we get the following from them.

Christianson is no longer responsible for your unit after 5 years which was on the 14 of May this year...talk to your builder.

I called them last month prior to warranty running out and they said that it was my thermostat and did nothing (Didn't consider the issue they came out 4 times for). My home turned 5 years on May 14, 2019. This is how they work.

FYI: If your AC unit was installed by Christianson (DR. HORTON HOMES) and you have been having issues with a new AC unit. They will patch work your unit until you hit the 5 year mark. Then tell you they are no longer obligated to service your AC.

I called Christianson AC/plumbing, Round Rock TX to service my AC. Guy came out spent 2 minutes in the attic with the AC, then said 'maintenance' was finished. Told me to change the air filters and would be back. He said he was 99% sure the problem was dirty air filters and a 'frozen evaporator'. Strange, AC hadn't been run in 2 weeks, how did the evaporator get 'frozen' in 5 minutes?

Guy came  back the next day, spent 2 minutes in the attic with the AC, comes down says evaporator is leaking refrigerant.

Gives me a bill for $184!! For a grand  total of 10 minutes work with 2 visits.

Guy says new evaporators are  $2000 and a sales man will call! I noticed he didn't have a refrigerant gas sniffer with him so I asked how do you know that the evaporator is leaking refrigerant? He said that oil was in the pan, funny, I saw no oil.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!  I should have signed the $184 bill 'Ben Ripped,...because I was!

To summarize: I spent $184 for two visits and still my AC doesn't work. Of course they want me to spend another $2000 then it will work just fine.

I called to get prices on hot water heater installation and they were by far the cheapest option. I must say that it didn't feel like a cheap install! I would definitely call them again for any of my plumbing needs!

Less than 6 months after moving into my new construction home, the water heater installed by Christianson died. I was without hot water for 5 days until I put up a stink and insisted they replace it with a new one immediately. They did. But when the city of austin came to inspect, part of the work was done incorrectly. The inspector told me to have them back to fix it and that they could send photos of the corrected work to pass inspection.

Christianson came back out to correct there work, but I had to tell their service person to take pictures to submit. Weeks later I get a call to reschedule inspection, at which point I again told them they needed to submit photos. They called me back again weeks later to tell me that the inspector would accept photos (indeed, precisely as I had told them) but the service person never transferred the photos off their phone and had to replace the phone. So now, in July, I'm still trying to get this issue from October of last year resolved.

Meanwhile, they refuse to offer anything less than a 4 hour window for when they will arrive to now take new photos to submit. As an hourly worker, their disorganization and lack of follow through is costing me real money.

You might think their missteps throughout this process would prompt them to want to get this settled well and quickly in a manner that holds some regard for the experience of the customer, but that is clearly not the case.

Update on 8/24/17
If I could mark them down to zero stars I would. They came back and took photos, but subsequently it was the quality of their work that failed inspection again. Now I have to have them out to redo the work and again resubmit for inspection. Turns out even the supervisor that will now come out to do the work doesn't have the personal integrity to plan accordingly for an actual appointment time. The best they can offer is around 10:30 because life is so unpredictable when upon don't take responsibility or hold yourself accountable.

Christianson was very unresponsive to a request for quote. While a salesperson came out within a week, I had to prompt him for the estimate. I got some really lame excuse that my email address wasn't working. Then the quote  arrived with 2 items bundled together even though I'd asked for separate quotes. Further, the quote was about 80% higher than another vendor. This makes me think he made it up. I emailed him again,  asking for the 2 items to be separated.  That was over 2 weeks ago and I've not received a response.

I won't consider using this company,  despite the fact that they installed my heating and A/C system when my home was built 2 1/2 years ago.

Their technician took off his mask and spit in our kitchen sink when he was talking to us. I could say that he did it on purpose. I have never seen any disrespectful  behavior like this before. They left without even try to fix the plumbing issue. Our house has one year warranty and they are in charge of fixing plumbing issues here but they don't do anything. I am done with them! We are going to hire another company. Better to pay money than wasting the time and dealing with these people!

Avoid these guys.  They are unreliable, expensive and bad quality.   I called them since they had installed my AC about 8+ years ago.   They would not give approximate time when they would come.   They said they will call before they came, but did not just showed up.  Luckily I was home.  The guy who came decided the fan need to be replaced, and had to order the fan.  But charged me $70 for 10 minute evaluation.  It took 2 days to get the parts, again same story won't say when they will come and had to wait for the entire day to get expensive service.

I went with them since they had installed my AC, but now I regret it.  I strongly urge you not to use these guys.

My job was completed and repaired.... but this 1 star review is for the inconsiderateness of the 2 plumbers that just left my house. They walked in my home on a scheduled appt with dirty shoes on, did not take them off nor would I have really wanted them to, by the looks of their shoes I'm sure that their socks weren't in and condition that I would want walking throughout my new home.
I was in the room with my dogs while my husband accompanied them to the bathroom. After a few minutes I went to check on the situation and noticed the shoes standing on my new white rug in my bathroom. I politely asked them to get off of it and I moved it.
They left to get a part, I spoke to my husband about it and he said he noticed the brown crud on their shoes too and assured me it was just plumber's stuff so yes, he is in the dog house too.
I let my dogs out right after they left and as I type this they are going bananas everywhere the plumbers stepped. Heck, I had a cabinet guy in my house a few days ago and he politely put shoe covers on before entering my home and he didn't step foot on any carpet or rugs...
I'm hopping over to Amazon now to order some shoe covers for the next repair guy who needs to enter my home who doesn't have any... plumbers of all people?!?
I will also be running to HEB to rent a carpet cleaner and scrubbing tile in 2 rooms today for my workout... thanks guys!
Set some protocols for entering homes...

My A/C was not blowing cool air and called these guys. I was told on the phone that is was $85 for the visit and diagnosis of what the issue is. I agreed and the guy shows up and goes outside and attic and checks for a min. and comes back saying that there is no freon so must be a leak. But to find out how it is leaking is it is $100 more. At that point I was like whaaaaaat ?? But you guys said that to diagnose it is just $. But the guys replies there is no way to tell us what the final charge would be which is completely different from what the front desk told me. It felt like they do this low ball thing and say a different price once they are in. The guy finally charged me $140 in total as a discount for which I gave one star. Why cant these guys be honest in their evaluation and this is not even a small company. They should be upfront in their evaluation so that customer can decide if they want to go with them or not. I called their number to complain about the over charge and the lady says that the technician actually under charged me and he should have charged me $250 or some other ridiculous number. I was steaming mad at her when she said that. I see some one else wrote pretty much a similar review as mine and my final diagnosis was I need to replace my evaporator for $2400 and the unit is hardly 4 years old. Absolutely ridiculous !!

Whoever Emily is at this company needs a serious lesson in customer service. We had texted in the morning that we were leaving a key under the mat so the tech could access the property. At 3:30 pm I got a call they would arrive in 30 min. My boyfriend happened to be off and arrived by 4:02 pm. No one ever arrived and after hours of waiting and calls and texts inquiring where the tech was Emily called me and stated we missed the technician and they left because no one was home. Come to find out the tech had got here at 3:30 (this is when I got the call they'd be here in 30, which simple math means they'd be here at 4) and left at 3:55. After clearly expressing my frustration Emily sarcastically stated well I'm sorry we didn't wait another 5 min. I was completely blown away by her rudeness and lack of ability to deescalate the situation. Additionally how she tried to throw the blame onto us. Zero understanding or acknowledgement of their error. I informed her her attitude was not appreciated and I hope whoever is her boss offers a coaching session of some sort. There clearly is a gap in communication in this company because no one informed the tech there was a key and the dispatcher also was not given the correct arrival time.

One of our AC units was no longer cooling when I returned from vacation.  I used Christianson before for a plumbing problem so I called them for this problem as well.  They came out and replaced a capacitor on the unit and diagnosed a significant leak in the cooling coils. They had to replace the coolant on the unit to keep it working until the leak could be fixed.

Since the unit is pretty old and uses R22 we agreed to replace the coils and install a new Carrier unit with the newer type refrigerant.   We were able to schedule it 3 days out.  They came at 9am on Saturday morning and were out by 11:30.  They were prompt, efficient, and did a great job.

Would definitely recommend them.

The upstairs is now frigid.  Brrrrrr! :)

$95 to light a pilot.

I used this company to install a new water heater. After 2 years water heater is acting up and the pilot light keeps turning off. According to them, it is because of the heat. I own few rental properties and I never had this issue. I even have the same water heater installed in other homes that never had this issue.

First time they came to look at the issue, they charged me $95 - their service fee. I am fine with them charging the fee if they resolve any issue. Their guy came, relight the pilot and charged me $95. Now after two weeks, it happened again and when I called them again, they want $95 again to relight the pilot.

Because according to them, I need ventilation in the attic. I have another 10 year old water heater next to the one that is having an issue and it is working completely  fine. So the problem is with the heat or the water heater? I have the same water heaters which they installed, in another house that has no ventilation, and are working fine. So the issue is with the water heater or the ventilation? When I asked this question to the lady  who was answering the call, her response was, I can't explain that to you sir.

I only lost $95 in the deal but they lost lot of future revenue from me because what is the likelihood I would have used them to install another water heater since I used them once.

I twice had some issue (once with sprinkler and another time with garage) in which the company I called, charges service fee but in both cases the issue was so minor that they didn't charge me any fee. That's when I became their lifetime customer and gave them lot of business. This is the difference between the company that takes care of their customers and  the company that just cares about their bottom line.

This weekend was the first time I had any problems with my six-year-old Carrier unit. Christianson was the original installer, so I thought I would check them out on yelp.

I called yesterday and they were going to send someone as soon as that afternoon. I was unable to get off of work so I scheduled it for the next day. True to their word, they called when the technician was on his way.

The technician, Mike, was both very professional and pleasant. My problem was an overflowing drain pan. Even though I had religiously flushed the drain every month since I built the house. Mike was able to point out a design flaw that caused the blockage to occur in an elbow that was located proximal to where I would do my flush. He installed an additional stem proximal to the elbow that would now allow me to flush before the elbow.

Mike explained everything he did throughout the process so I got an education as part of his repair. He checked everything inside and out and made sure the unit was cooling to a proper temperature.

The work was done for a reasonable price and I also learned I should be flushing with vinegar rather than Chlorine.

I will not hesitate to call them the next time I have an issue with my AC unit. Hopefully, that will not be too soon!

I highly recommend their service and if you get a chance to use Mike you'll do okay!

Update 7/29/15 - came home last night to unit frozen both inside and outside.  Placed a call and got scheduled for today.  Robert made the service call and was outstanding.  He checked everything inside and out and said, from my description of what happened, it sounded like the motor module was going out.  Everything else checked out ok.  He said I could wait and see or get it replaced since he had one in the van.  I elected to have it changed to avoid another hot night in the ATX.  Robert helped educate me on what filters I should have (I was over doing it with the MERV 14's...) and reinforced the maintenance I was performing on the unit. It wasn't cheap - just under $700, but the service was great and I'm cool again.  Don't know why the reviews are all over the board, but my experiences have been good in the Cedar Park / Leander area.  Thanks guys!

I had a service contract with Christianson, but I will not any longer. Today they took apart my AC unit to replace a working motor claiming it looked like it was going to go out. Mind you it was only a 3 yr old unit. While doing so they broke the screen the motor mounts on and said they could get a replacement part from warehouse 25 min away, but they would have to charge me another $200 labor fee to go get it. I called the service manager to complain and he did not like my questioning his customer service nor my questioning the validity of the repair he talked my husband into. He proceeded to tell me that since I clearly no longer wanted to do business with him he did not want to do business with me. So he called his repairman off and they left me with a torn up unit on a 90+ degree Day. It is a Friday on the 4th of July weekend. If it wasn't for Georgetown Air coming to my rescue we would have been without AC for at least a week. Beware anyone who is thinking of doing business with this company!

Our hot water heater went out a few days before we were supposed to leave for Paris and London.  Christianson came over quickly and gave us a good quote.  We just figured we'd get it fixed when we got back.  Little did we know we'd need to self quarantine ourselves for 2 weeks.  Luckily, Casey from Christianson came out before we got home and saved the day and got the hot water heater installed.  What a fantastic company for both AC and plumbing.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I have used Christianson Plumbing on a number of occasions, and they are fantastic. Jeff is the technician that services my area (Steiner Ranch), and I couldn't ask for a more competent, trustworthy, polite, and reasonable plumber. Christianson assigns territories to their technicians, so you get to develop a relationship with the person and know they are the one coming to do the work. They are incredibly efficient, professional, and reasonably priced. I have never used their air conditioning service, but definitely will if I ever need to. I have already recommended them to a number of friends and neighbors- you can't go wrong using them.

What a pleasure to do business with them.  I bought a new heat pump and air handler last September and they did a great job.

They told me I had a free service for an a/c check prior to this summer and called to set it up.  They told me that I had a free AC checkup and also a free heating checkup in the fall.

They came out on time and ch cod everything out and thanked me for being a customer.

Previously, they installed 2 water heaters in one day that I wanted done before they failed due to our extremely hard water.

My central air conditioning died a sudden and horrifying death.  I'm from up north and yeah, i burst into tears.

I called Christianson, based on a recommendation from a friend, on a saturday afternoon.  There was no room for me that day but I did have a window unit to keep one room coolish so we booked the apt for Monday morning.

They were here bright and early Monday morning.  The diagnosis, confirmation and fix took twenty minutes maybe and part of that was me wrangling my dogs.  The serviceman was polite, helpful, knowledgeable and I hugged him when he left because we are NEVER the it's a quick easy fix people, we're always the omg, we've never seen anything like THIS, it'll cost $10,000 people.  NOT this time, the service call, part and labor was under $100 and my house is cool again.

THANK YOU for an honest, clean, friendly, knowledgeable service appointment.  I hope to never need you again but if we do have another problem, they will be the first place I call.  I've already recommended to friends.

Awesome

I had a question about a house that Christianson worked on about three years ago as a new construction. They looked at the inspection report and got right back to me with an answer and said they didn't feel there was work needed for the supposed issue.
Also - they were able to pull up the property records from the address and help me find the sewer clean out location. I'll be sure to look them up next time I need some actual work done as their customer service over the phone was excellent.

Sorry...i know plumbing reviews are kinda boring. I have a water leak somewhere in the input side of our home. So i needed a plumber right. I decided to give Christianson another try after questionable practices from them previously.

They send a guy out who looks over the problem. Seemed unsure of how and what to do as i explained my issue. I even offered suggestions. Basically all that happened was he confirmed that the water plumbed to the house did have a leak...somewhere. Perfect, i knew that already, that's why i called you out.

Then he tells me that he cannot tell where it is and thus he cannot fix it. WTF...isnt that your job?. Incidentally Christianson advertises in the Yellow Pages and website that they perform leak detection. Then he charges me $89 for the service call. I asked him what did he do other than tell me he cannot fix my problem that i should pay him $89? He said that's their policy. So i had to pay this company to drive into my driveway and tell me they cannot find my leak or fix it. Seriously? You're kidding right? Nope!

Never...Never... ever again Christianson...

I am kicking myself for ever giving this company a second chance.

Christianson worked as a sub to my builder to design and install the central HVAC in my house.

Since then, I have used them for annual check-ups.  They have a plan that includes a winter and a summer check up for a single contract price, along with discounts on any necessary repairs.  I think they call the contract CAMP (short for Christianson Annual Maintenance Program).  This contract has been $89.95 in the past, but I understand it is about to go up.  I stand by and witness the work being done.  They do the necessary cleaning and oiling and check burners and circuit amperage for trouble-free operation.  They have never invented a problem during one of these check-ups and I've always felt that they've done a thorough job.

The only time I've had them out for a repair has been when a relay welded closed and iced over the unit.  You will have a relay fail now and again if you have a central AC unit.  I felt their repair charges were fair and their service was prompt and reliable.

I recommend them highly for central system HVAC work.

Beware of Christianson AC. My AC went out on Friday night, I called them first thing Saturday morning to replace the capacitor because AC was not cooling. I knew it was the capacitor because they had just replaced it last summer when my unit was under parts and labor warranty. They called be back and said it would be $103 service charge but that part was still covered under the 5 year warranty. When the AC tech arrived he said he didn't have the warrantied part with him and wanted to charge me $240 for an upgraded part + service call to fix it now or wait until Monday.

I had a local company make the repairs and I was informed that the capacitor that Christianson put on my AC last summer was far to small for the 5 ton unit.

I posted my story on my HOA facebook and found out several of my neighbors had similar issues with this company. One neighbor even paid over $1000 to repair AC that was under the 5 year parts warranty.

This company will try to nickle and dime you if you let them.

In the spring I paid for the year service, we just sold our home so I called and let the know I would not be needing the Fall service, please refund my fall  amount, I was told that was non refundable and the new owners could use it. I did not receive the work so I don't feel that they should keep what they haven't earned. I love their service people but their admin. is for the birds. Every other company I know charges $49.50 per call but I paid them $99.90. The moral of this story don't pay ahead.

Just had 2 new water heaters installed. I received a call to let me know they were coming. Tom and Casey arrived on time. They went over the work to be done and were very patience answering all my questions. Throughout the install they were very professional. They used quality materials and demonstrated a high skill level. The completed install was configured cleanly with everything secure and tight. They cleaned up completely and were a pleasure to have at my home. Based on my experience a would highly recommend Christianson.

Katie and Maria at the office have been a pleasure to deal with. Someone always answers the phone(no voicemails) and are top notch with their customer service.

This company lives up to their claims of caring about their customers, and going above and beyond.
My wife flushed a set of keys down the toilet--and not just any keys, and not just any toilet. She was ranch-sitting for a friend, waaayyyy out in the country, with limited access down a loooong bumpy road. And the keys included not only our SINGLE set of car keys, but several others that were work-related and very hard to replace.
We called Christianson because we'd heard of them through friends, and they sent two of their most experienced plumbers right away; one was Jerry, a master plumber . They found the place quickly, brought all the right equipment, and found the keys at the end of the pipe run, 30 feet from where they went in the toilet. Impossibly quickly. Disaster averted!
Of course, they couldn't stop laughing at how my wife managed to drop such a huge bunch of keys in there, and how she managed to flush them in the first place. But after all was said and done, my wife was ready for the big dollar hit. Then, SHOCK....they charged such a reasonable rate that we couldn't believe it.
It was a desperate situation for us, and could have cost us a lot of money, and many plumbers might have been tempted to gouge a customer in that situation. But these guys were so gracious and fair, not to mention efficient and competent, that it turned a horribly tense situation into one of the nicest moments in my wife's week.
Huge thanks to the folks at Christianson.

Christianson has been my only A/C and plumbing company for 20 years. Recently they replaced my kitchen sink. A replacement I ordered did not quite fit but they referred me to a pro who cut my countertop to spec. Andrew came out and installed my new sink. plumbed the water, drain and new garbage disposal. I'm very happy to have this new commercial grade kitchen sink. I continue to highly recommend Christianson.

This place is AWESOME!!! Great service, friendly staff and excellent prices! We had 4 different air conditioning companies come out and give us quotes and Christianson blew them away with the extras provided and the service plan. I had an emergency with my air-conditioning unit last year.  A major part went out.  They put in the unit 7 years ago when the home was built.  The repairman did not have the standard part, so he had to go get it.  He came back and wanted to charge me mileage for going to get a part he should have had.  His boss would not get on the phone with me to explain this.  I called another company and they did not charge mileage for going to get anything.  Do not use them.  They are not what they claim to be.

Be aware of their scheduling for plumbing services.... They give you a four hour window then call when they are on their way to ensure you're home, which is a great service. I had stepped away from my office for 5min and my voicemail said to call back within a window. I called back within the window given (10min) and the line was busy. After calling back 5xs, I went through the main switchboard. Once I got to a person (within the 10min window) I had been rescheduled. I wish they valued their customer's time as much as they did their technicians.

Christianson replaced my hot water heater.  The heater went out over the  weekend.  Teresa was able to schedule an appointment on Tuesday afternoon which left us without hot water for four days.  I thought it was the control value again which was replaced six months ago.  Not that lucky.  The whole system had to be replaced including the pressure control value.  Trent and Justin replaced the control value and the cut off value in pouring down rain which soaked everyone.  They rearranged other appointments to finish the job, spending the whole afternoon soaking wet with no complaint. I paid $1100. for the entire job but was grateful to get it done.  My wife was happy and that is all that counts.  Christianson has two good employees who are Trent and Justin.  Thanks.

This is one review I've waited quite some time to do, because there is significantly more at stake in the choice of one's a/c or plumbing provider than, say, one's meal on any particular night. There's no sense in being rash where hundreds or thousands of dollars may be involved, and yet ... well, wade through the pool of 5 and 1 star reviews for this company and others like it and you'll likely see my point. As a reasonable person might deduce, any company providing services that are both expensive and not well understood by the general public runs unavoidable risks. There are going to be polarized subsets of customers, regardless of how well you do your job. Since it is counterintuitive that an established company is both the best and the worst, our challenge as consumers is to gauge where in between said company likely falls. Hopefully I can help in that regard.

I've been a customer of Christianson's for 3 years now. I take advantage of their yearly maintenance plans for both my a/c system and my water heater. I appreciate that I don't have to think about it. When an inspection is due, I get a call to schedule service. I can usually have a tech at my door as quickly as I want, or whenever else suits my schedule. Every visit has been conducted by a courteous, knowledgeable tech willing to either hang back and answer my dumb questions, or get in and out as unobtrusively as possible.

On my most recent a/c service call the tech discovered a significant coolant loss. He quickly diagnosed the problem -- a rather substantial one -- and patiently explained my options. After getting the go-ahead, Christianson handled all the warranty issues on my behalf and had a new part ready to install within a few days. Another specialist had everything installed, charged up, and good as new in no time. The labor costs, which were not under warranty, were daunting. Being a cheapskate, I checked around quite extensively. The price quoted was very competitive, even before deducting my additional 10% off for being a service plan customer.

I've got nothing dazzling, intriguing, or particularly thought-provoking to say about Christianson. I can only testify that they have consistently done me right over the course of years, in both preventative and corrective maintenance. Their techs have always been diligent professionals who inspire confidence. I have a lot of peace of mind dealing with these folks, and in this arena ... that'll do just fine.

THE WORST COMPANY!!! STAY AWAY!!!! If I could give them zero stars I would. Dealing with Christianson has been nothing but problems!! It all started last week when our AC wasn't working as efficiently as it once was. The repair man diagnosed it as a bad evaporator coil. They told us it wasn't in stock and they would have to order it. We asked the man about the time for the product to come in and he couldn't give us an answer. He told us we would need to keep the AC off until the part came in to avoid the unit freezing up. The lack of answers didn't sit well with me so I decided to call the main number. The lady in the parts department assured me they had a part IN STOCK and she scheduled for us to have it installed the very next day. We expressed our frustrations with her because the repair man who came out to diagnose it clearly just wanted to complete his day, get onto the next call and be done-- without properly taking the time to repair it when the part was ON HAND. Well, fast forward 24 hours and after we paid for a hotel room in town, because we have a young daughter and it go into the high 90's during the heat of the day, he came back and installed it. He was in and out in under 45 minutes. I thought that was ridiculously quick but, me not being the AC professional, I thought maybe he was just an expert and did it enough where it didn't take him much time---WRONG!!!! Two days later we notice our ceiling has a foot long water mark on it. My husband went into the attack (Where our HVAC system is located) and noticed ALL THE TRASH LEFT BEHIND FROM THE REPAIR MAN!!! He left old parts, boxes from the new parts, all the cardboard thrown about in our attic. I get it, it's an attic not a living room, but this is just the beginning of his lack of care or attention to detail--not to mention just plain RUDE unprofessional service!!!! Upon further inspection we noticed the drip pan under our HVAC system has about a half inch of water under it. We believe they once again didn't take the time or care to put together the water line when finished with replacing our evaporator coil. My husband attached the two lines but we called to have someone come back out as it SHOULDN'T BE OUR JOB TO FIX PROFESSIONALS LACK OF CARE. They said the soonest they can get us in is very late the next afternoon. After being rather frank with the operator I let her know that we should not have to deal with a leak coming through our ceiling not to mention cleaning up after their repairmen when we have paid and trusted them to do a job well done the FIRST time (a $700 job at that) Isn't that the reason we call professionals???? She agreed and said she would fit us in that evening...needless to say she went on to tell us we would have to pay ANOTHER SERVICE CALL FEE for someone to come back out to fix THEIR MISTAKE. I assured her that our AC never had this issue prior to them coming out and we won't be paying for anything related to the leak they caused. All in all, save yourself the headache and money and go with a company who is TRUE professionals and take pride in their work and value their job (ie: serving us their customer) It has been nothing but problems and headaches dealing with these rude and careless workers.

Good luck! I made several online requests for a call back. And no call returned. Why bother adding this to your website if you are just going to ignore online requests?

Then tried calling and no one would return our calls. We went elsewhere, you know to an HVAC that knows how to respond to potential customers!

Of course our water heater decided to die on a holiday. Immediately we expected to get raked over the coals with Overtime Rates, regardless of who came to do the service.

I called Sears Repair first and as I explained the problem, I could hear the guy swearing (no, I'm not exaggerating).

I got off the phone with Sears and called Christianson Plumbing at 9 a.m. They were at the door at 10 am. The technician was friendly and immediately said Your water heater is under warranty. I know what's wrong and it will only be an $89.00 service call.

45 minutes later he was finished and we had hot water again and almost more importantly  - no mess for me to deal with (unlike the last time we had a Sears repair man come out - he left all his trash behind for me to clean up).

We'll definitely be using Christianson again and referring them to all our friends. They were unexpectedly prompt, thankfully honest, pleasantly courteous and utterly professional.

These guys could have taken me to the cleaners. They installed my system when I built the house.  And wouldn't you know, the warranty went out of date on the main unit by a few months. Christianson went out of their way to get me some leeway on my warranty date thru the manufacturer, and replaced my main ac unit at no charge. I probably wouldn't have fought it, because the warranty date was definitely exceeded, and I wouldn't have had any recourse.

They are very professional to the point of having zero sense of humor, but who needs a comic in the attic? They do great work, and have a truly commendable sense of business ethics. Would have been totally easy to screw me out of thousands...

I won't be calling anyone else.

We had a new AC/heat system installed in the summer.  The AC worked great all summer long and the whole experience was a really good one.  The sales guy and the technicians were GREAT to work with.

The heater wasn't working properly when they came out to perform a heat system check late on Friday afternoon.  The two technicians who worked to resolve the problem were great to work with -  very polite and both worked diligently to try to get the heat running and they kept us informed about what was going on.  They worked diligently, I must add, until almost 9PM. Turned out there was a problem with one of the components and finishing the job wasn't a possibility that same day.  They were able to put in a temporary fix to get us through the weekend with heat.

When we spoke to the company EARLY this morning (Monday), they told us that the manufacturer couldn't get the required replacement part to them for several days.  Chrisitanson arranged to get a whole system from a local source, remove the part we needed and get it installed today.  It was evident they had worked over the weekend to have a solution ready by this morning - that really goes above and beyond, in my opinion.  We told them we were fine to wait for the part from the manufacturer - but they insisted on getting us fixed up (regardless of the cost or extra effort required on their part)!

I would recommend Christianson HIGHLY to anyone in need of AC/heat or plumbing service.  Every single encounter we've had with them has been more than satisfactory.

I have had the fortune, or misfortune I suppose, to hire the people at Christianson 5 times, going on 6 in the last 30 days, and I have to say, i am very impressed.  While it is a pain to need that many service calls in such a short amount of time, Christianson has made it much easier.

When we had a buyers inspection done on our 4-year-old house in Cedar Park just before seling it, there were quite a few things that showed up that needed some serious attention.  Our furnace gas valve had stopped working, the damper system in the ac ducts were not working right, (installed incorrectly originally / faulty part but this is not a review of that) The plumbing needed a leak test, and I needed the toilet reinstalled after the bathroom flooring was replaced.

At the new house in Austin, I needed a new furnace gas line that was fixed in less than 20 minutes, and matched a competitors price without hesitation.  Sprinkler system repair is scheduled soon.

The staff that sets appointments answer the phone right away, are helpful and nice to talk to, and are great at getting people to your door at virtually any time you suggest.  Multiple times now, they have come out immediately, not only the same day, but within the hour.

The technicians who come out are quick, smart and very friendly, and the prices on every job have been very fair.

I will not be hoping for any more reasons for them to come out again soon, but if I need someone for AC Heat or Plumbing, I won't be calling anyone else.

Absolutely the worst experience ever with a vendor. i have had a $400 a month water leak due to a faulty installation and they refuse to come repair their faulty work due to a dispute with the builder. I have filed a complaint with BBB and the State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Beware! Worst of the worst. Just find a 5 star reviewed plumber who stands behind their work.

Good toilet flange repair work.

I updated my original review after contacting the owner Trent Christianson. His prompt response had my issue resolved within three hours. I am a satisfied customer.

So, time passed since the installation of my system, and serious mold problems arose.  The first issue was getting them to even look at the problem; their position is that mold happens and is not something they address (telling me to contact a mold remediation / duct cleaning service).  After two rounds of expensive treatment (and living in a terrible moldy environment), I badgered them into finally coming to look at the root cause which was a build-up of moisture in the system.

When I asked for the original bid, I told them exactly how I planned to use the system and told them there was no limit on the price; I just wanted a system that would never give me any problems.  After the second tweak to help with the mold (both of which I paid for), I was told they would not make any guarantees about future air quality issues.  Their reasons are that the ductwork is a problem (although I originally asked them if it would be an issue and to address it if anything was needed), and that the way I use the system might contribute (although I am using it exactly as I told them I would and as I asked them to build for).  In a nutshell, their position is that they supply and install piece-parts, but assume no liability for the overall resulting HVAC system.  This is not how things were represented nor are they the way a good and responsible company would operate.  So, while they sell a good story; they're not really there for you if needed.

My hot water heater went out Wednesday night.  I called my home warranty and they sent out a plumber they had under contract the next morning.  The guy came out, quoted my job and even though I not only have a home warranty AND a warranty on the actual hot water tank, I was still quoted this job at over $2100!!!  That's right, $2100 out of my own pocket despite all of that.  I sent him away literally in tears not knowing how I could fix this problem.

We've only been in our home for 6 months now but I remember the previous owners said they always used Christianson.  So, I called them up to see if they could quote it out better.  Justine was beyond helpful to me answering any and all questions I had and scheduled an appointment within the hour!!!  She calmed me down and I was already feeling more confident.

Tom and Landon came out and did the install in the heat of the day, in my second story attic, never complaining once.  All the while they maintained the professionalism you would expect from anyone servicing something in your home.  Landon even went out of his way letting me know that my water meter was running more than it should be.  He then proceeded to check every single toilet in my home to see if any of them were running constantly.

After all was said and done, I had a new hot water heater installed before 4pm the same day and it only cost me $630 for the EXACT same job that was quoted to me earlier in the day for $2100!!!  All those parts and additional labor that was quoted out that morning was INCLUDED in the price Christianson gave me, NOT ADDITIONAL!

IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE USING CHRISTIANSON FOR ALL OF MY REPAIR NEEDS!

We had our first service on their CAMP program (spring and fall servicing) for a unit they installed on our 2013 built home.  Robert, their employee, was very respectful, professional and informative. He highlighted some areas where we could make improvements (filter management, pest abatement on outside unit) without selling us on additional services. Robert said he'd been with this company for 9 years and given the building boom of the area, that says a lot about this family owned company.

A/C suddenly died this morning, and the temps were headed toward 103.  Called a couple of other companies, and none of them would come out today.  Called Christianson, and they were SO nice on the phone, and promised me they would get someone out today.  Less than an hour later they called back and told me the technician was on his way!

Steve arrived about 10 minutes later, and he quickly attacked the problem, while also being willing to explain everything to me as he went.  Turns out a wire had shorted, and he quickly determined the problem, fixed it, and had the A/C back up and running within 30 minutes.  Great service, great attention to customer needs, and I'll definitely be calling them again the next time I have an issue! This is the kind of customer service I always appreciate.

Christianson installed the air conditioning in my new build home. They failed to properly connect the drain and the air conditioning leaked into the office. The builder needed to replace the walls and hardwood floor one week before closing. Disappointing and sloppy work.

I had a problem with my heating not working on a 43 degree night and Javier the dispatcher was extremely rude and unhelpful. He explained that they had a full schedule but when I asked if we could just have someone troubleshoot over the phone with us, he flat out refused. To make a long story short, our call led to both of us yelling to be heard and him hanging up on me instead of helping. When I called back he said his job consisted of nothing more than putting me on a schedule for tomorrow. I pointed out how easy it would be for someone with knowledge to call me about the thermostat/furnace to give some guidance on how we can make sure everything was on and he told me to go get my manual. I told him I'd continue calling until he got someone to help me, and he happily replied okay fine. Then he went on to tell me how he wouldn't be doing anything except putting me on the schedule for tomorrow and for me to call my builder who selected his company. I took his advice and spoke with Robert from DR Horton who kindly walked us through things we could check to make sure the gas, breaker switch, and furnace were on. He took the time to help.
How disappointing it is that this company would have someone like Javier for their after hours contact. I work in a call center for a large co., and had one of my employees treated a customer with that kind of disrespect, they'd be finding employment elsewhere. Maybe Javier should be doing the same...IJS

We had great service with Christianson just over two years ago, so when we had more plumbing needs, we immediately called them. Last week, Skylar came out to give us an estimate to have our gas hardware recessed so that our new range would fit flush with the wall and out counters. The estimate took about 10-15 minutes and was very reasonable. We immediately called to schedule the service. They were able to come out today, just 2 business days later. Skylar came out again, and he did an excellent job. He had to cut a square of our wall out to do the recessed, but the whole process was very clean. He left our house just as clean as it was when he arrived. The whole process took about an hour. We are very pleased with his work and how nice our range looks in the kitchen now. We knew Skylar was great after our last service visit, and we still feel that way. We will be requesting his service when we have a water softener installed in the new few weeks. We highly recommend this company. They are honest, reasonable, and quick!

Service on 11/16/2015:
We had an irrigation leak that required our house water to be cut off. Christianson plumbing had someone out the day we called. Skylar and Miguel were our technicians, and they are incredible. They were completely professional, kind, courteous, and knowledgable. They gave us a very fair quote, and made sure the work was done perfectly. We've had bad experiences with other plumbing companies so I was worried about dealing with another plumber. Skylar and Miguel have completely restored my faith in quality, professional, and genuinely nice plumbers! I would highly recommend Christianson plumbing for any and all needs, especially irrigation!

We recently had our AC unit stop cooling and heating and called the original installer of our unit (we bought our house new and this is under 5 years old).  The original installer sent someone out to check it out and told me there was a leak in the evaporator coil and it was going to cost quite a bit to get fixed.  They might be able to get the coil under the warranty, but it would still cost quite a bit for the labor/refridgerant/etc.

Fast forward to Christianson.  I submitted an internet request for a quote to see how much it would cost and I got a call that afternoon.  The rep was very nice, took my info, and asked quite a bit of questions and mentioned they would check with Carrier to see what they thought.  Long story short, they did their homework and was able to SUBSTANTIALLY reduce my repair (Carrier, the mfg of the AC unit picked up the majority of the tab), the guys got here @ 8:30a today and had it replaced, coolant replaced, and everything back up and running in about an hour.

The other company was probably going to double dip me (i.e. charge me for labor, etc and then collect from Carrier as well), so I am grateful that Christianson advised me of what they were going to do each step of the way.  Will definitely do business with them again in the future!

This has apparently been my year for a/c fritzes, as witnessed by my other odyssey regarding my car a/c.

Anyhow, about a month ago, our home a/c wasn't acting right.  It wasn't consistently blowing cold air and was running all the time.

Yeah, it's been a bear of a summer, but our house is reasonably insulated and we keep the thermostat at over 80.

So, we put in a call to Christianson Brothers.  They were able to schedule someone for the next day.

Now, I was half expecting the oh sh*t bill as the unit is 12 years old.  However, the repair guy (and apologies for not remembering his name, which is a shame because he was a personable fellow) told me it was a capacitor and a few other parts.  $385 total for parts and labor and the a/c works like new.  He also said that although the unit was older, it was in overall good shape and probably had another good 3-4 years barring any unforseen damage.

Very happy with the service and decent price.

I recently built a house and closed over a year ago.  My heater was acting up and I decided to call Christianson since they installed the system.  They came out and figured out the issue quickly.  There was a fitting that wasnt tightened properly when it was installed and allowed the system to leak all the puron out.  Since my system was out of warranty for labor and warranty doesnt cover puron I was nervous about having to pay for $50 per pound of puron.  I ended up needing 8 pounds.  ROBERT made one phone call and got everything covered under warranty even though I had no warranty.  They could have easily made an excuse why this could have happened but they didnt.  Yes they may have made a mistake when it was installed but every company run by humans makes mistakes, its how they fix them that makes the company who they are.  And, Christianson is a stand up company.

I've used their AC service for years, and never had an issue with the cost or quality of work.  So I had them install a drop-in sink and faucet into a new counter top. Not a good experience.  They sent 2 guys (a plumber and a helper) to do a 1-man job, and the install took over 2 hours.  After they left I found the hot and cold handles where not aligned properly, and there was lots of sealant that overflowed onto the counter from the sink edge.
Cleaning up the sealant took me 30 minutes, and I still need to get back under the sink and adjust the hot and cold valves (I don't want those guys back in my house).  So after $300 and 2 hours I have to complete the job.
Next time it's someone else.

I have worked with Christianson at my former home...for both maintenance and installation of HVAC.  I just had to call them again at a new-to-me home for some AC issues.  Our technician was professional--awesome and efficient.  Learned that vinegar is better for flushing than bleach, and also got a new thermostat to help with energy consumption.  I highly recommend Christianson, since every interaction I have had with the company over the years has been straightforward and positive.  I'm planning to join their CAMP so I save some money and don't forget the maintenance... and the next time I have a plumbing need I'm going to reach out to them as well.

My A/C is not blowing cool air and Christianson told me the compressor is out. Since it is installed in less than 10 years, the compressor is still under warranty. However, I got a $1800 quote from the company to have the compressor replaced, in addition to more than $200 I paid for their first visit. This is ridiculous since this cost is much higher than replacing it without warranty.

Flat out the worst install experience I've ever had.  I purchased a new dishwasher to have them install.  The guy that showed up told me i needed a couple of small parts that he didn't have- mind you this is a company that does this all the time and obviously has knowledge of what is going to be needed and I was curious as to what was in their work van.  I was told these parts such as the plug are never included.  The guy said he could go get the parts at Home Depot and it of course would be on the clock.  What am I suppose to do say no, pay the service fee go get the plug and washer/grommet the call and schedule another install!?  I told him to go ahead and get it.  About 45 mins later he shows back up.  I'm already 120 bucks into this install and the job really hasn't even started yet.  He said it would be another 20 to 45 mins.  I'm betting it was going to be the 45 min side and probably longer.  I told him to forget it.  His reaction was almost of joy and relief.  He said no problem he just had to give me the bill and we were all set.  Bill was 120 bucks and now have two dishwashers sitting in the kitchen.  Don't you think that you would be told of these parts being needed or more so they would carry these to sell you?  Also the b.o. on this person was so bad I can still smell it!

Unbelievably bad.

We live in a 20 year old house. The furnace and AC gave out last summer, 2012. After exploring options Christianson seemed like a reasonable choice based on price and other reviews.

New system installed in a day for 6K and then the problems started.

In a little over a year we have had technicians come out on five separate occasions due to poor initial wiring, collapse of a plenum the installer built, power problems, and failure of a switch.

Today the tech was telling us we were going to have to spend another 5k - 7k to really get the system fixed right. We already spent 6k on a new furnace, condenser, outdoor unit, and the promised duct work.

Ridiculous. I strongly urge you to avoid this company. Based on other reviews some of the techs do good work, but based on my experience the installation is a real dice roll.

I had a problem with the balancing of the heat pump. 3 Bedrooms were very cold, while the rest of the house was ok.  HVAC Technician Robert Stalks came in and adjusted dampers in the attic to increase the flow to the bedrooms. He sealed air leaks around the pass damper and secured with hanger straps. This was not an easy job, due to the location of the dampers.
Great job. Very professional and represented well his company. I can't remember his boss name, but he was also very helpful and patient.

I've used Christianson for many years now, but lately I have to wonder if they've gotten too big to care as much about their level of customer service.  They've always been reliable in the past, as far as heating and cooling goes, but my experience with their plumbing services and emergency service is very poor.

Not long ago I had a Christianson plumber come out to do minor repairs to a toilet and a gas pipe (fireplace ignitor).  The toilet repair didn't hold up more than a few weeks and the workman mangled the failed utterly to remove the old gas ignitor; instead, he twisted and mangled it so badly that he finally gave up the job and said he was afraid he would break the pipe (which would leave me in a much more serious position).  I didn't realize what had been done at the time, not until much later (when the winter came along).  Rather than remove the pipe and cap it, I was left with an ignitor that's turned SIDEWAYS, with one section of flames that would burn directly into the floor of the firebox if I dared turn it on.  I'm going to have to have this job tackled again by another plumber.  I blame myself for not staying more on top of this at the time, but really, you should be able to trust a plumber to do a proper job no matter what obstacles he encounters.

More recently, during the cold front and freezing weather, water pipes broke at my home late on a Friday night.  I called the emergency number listed in the phone book and  navigated a series of voicemail menus and finally was told  to leave a message with the emergency service and I'd be contacted as soon as possible to arrange for an after-hours repair if necessary.  I left a series of messages that night to update Christianson's on my status ( using the car headlights in the dark to  search for the cuttoff, I finally got the water  shut off, but I still wanted to get repairs underway as soon as possible).  I never ehard back from Christianson's, not that night, not the next day, not the day after, not the day after.  What's the point of advertising 24-hour emergency service if all you do is leave a message, never speak to a human being, and are never called back?  Hell, I could set myself up as offering 24-hour emergency hotline available if that's all there is to it.  Sure, call any time and say whatever you like -- just don't expect any response.

I arranged to have the repairs done by a competitor.  Christianson, I expected better from you.  I even emailed your customer service dept. from your website and aired my complaint last week, and you never responded to that either.  Do you care at all anymore, or are you in fact too big to take care of longtime customers?

I've called Christianson for a few projects with mixed results.  The first, a plumbing leak, they didn't even want to quote.  The rep told me that they specialize more in new construction.  I called them again a while back to service my A/C before the home was sold and to update the gas piping to code.  The tech arrived and did the service, but came totally unprepared to do the pipe work.  There was no follow through on their part to finish the job.

I've also asked them to bid an A/C system replacement.  The person doing that work schedules no appointments after 3pm, making it necessary for me to take time off work.  The result was some sort of energy rebate survey for the City rebate program, not even close to a real quote or estimate for the job.

My bottom line conclusion is that this company likes to pick and choose their jobs.  They'll pass on anything that's not convenient.  I gave them multiple chances to earn some real business and they came up short.

Not happy with customer experience. I called to set up an appointment and I was told that the guy should be there by or so. Dude shows up at 1 without calling in advance, waits for a few minutes and leaves for the day....that too on Friday. WTH! Called office again and the boss says we can send you someone in the evening or weekend for additional cost...just to show up.

This review is based on 4 service experiences between April 2016 - Nov 3, 2016.  First, I purchased a new Trane 16 SEER A/C & heat exchanger system in April.  My old A/C system (Lennox) was not working when I cranked it up the first time during the year.  I actually engaged a different company (thru Yelp, based on positive reviews).  Problem was diagnosed as lost all freon.  Since it was the old freon it was prohibitively expensive to fill in order to determine what portion of my system needed replacement - and since my system was ~ 10 years old it made sense to replace entire system.  Because of the cost I competed my business with 3 different companies.  I chose Christianson based on their competitive quote and quote thoroughness/technical expertise (had 3 companies visit my house for no cost eval).  Anyhow, Christianson personnel installed system per their commitment (arrived on time, cleaned up afterwards, etc.).  Approx 4 months later (Aug) during the REALLY HOT SPELL I didn't know if my A/C was cranking cold air out properly.  Called Christianson and had them send tech out.  Robert came out to investigate.  I was extremely impressed with his expertise and he explained some things that helped me understand how I could use by 2-zone system much better.  Was very pleased with his service.  Fast forward to Nov 2nd - I saw a water puddle in my garage.  Found it odd - next morning I go to get in car and I better investigated source of water - it was coming from my water heater closet!  Called Christianson and asked Robert to visit. I was owed a furnace well check.  I asked for Robert to visit.  Robert came out to perform well check on furnace.  Although he was not a plumbing expert (Christianson has separate HVAC and plumbing depts) - he quickly saw where my leak was coming from.  He recommended I contact their plumbing dept.  I did so - they sent Tom and Miguel from their plumbing dept to my house within the hr!  Tom/Miguel arrived, fixed problem (safety tank replacement), flushed both 40 gal water heaters.  Tom (plumber) also adjusted my master bathroom toliet tank flush issue during the service call (at no charge).  I highly recommend this company.

BTW: Christianson personnel was the only company that explained there was a $300.00 PEC and $300.00 IRS tax credit if I purchased a 16 SEER rated system (vs. 14 SEER) back in April.  My kick butt 16 SEER system ended up costing about the same as other companies were charging for a less energy efficient 14 SEER system!

I have used this plumbing co. 4 times. One job, which I called around for quotes, averaged $250.However at Christianson it was $175.. They will hook you into their bi-yearly checks, which isn't a bad deal, but I opt to call as needed....I like them!

We have worked with Christianson for over 10 years, until now.  About three years ago they stopped calling about to schedule my  maintance agreement we had with them on our AC, some how a wrong phone number was put in for may address, and after three years of trying to get them to put the correct phone number in it may have gotten changed, but to late.  On Thursday evening our AC went out and we called, again they had the wrong phone number for our aderess.  A technician came out just after noon on Friday and diagnosed the Compressor was grounded and I would have to have a new outside unit.  He emailed the sales staff to call ASAP with a quote to for replacement.  I was informed that they would call that afternoon.  With no response by Friday afternoon, we talked with the sales guys at Home Depot and ARS was at the house on Saturday afternoon and installation is scheduled this Monday morning first thing.   Maybe Christianson should take some lessons on customer service from ARS.

I built a house recently with a well respected regional production home builder.  Christianson was a sub to my builder.  In the fine print of the contract I was required to buy form their subs.

Well when it came time to deliver my toilets - that I had picked out 6 months ago, Christianson could not deliver the toilets.  They had special odored a specific colonial white that I did not even know existed.  I did not request that color.  It was time to install the toliets and they were back ordered for 6 weeks.  I found the original toliet in standard white at a local plumbing supply.  But Christianson strong armed my builder and made me buy the 4 back ordered toliets.

This was one of the most frustrating issues with the entire house building process.

If you can't deliver on time - don't use the fine print of a supplier contract to force the homeowner to buy four additional toilets.  This is just stupid.

Poor customer service. My grinder pump's alarm went on a Saturday night, I called their after hours number, left a message. On Sunday afternoon I called again, left another message -- after that they finally called me back, said that my situation is not an emergency and that they can send someone to check the pump on Tuesday. On Tuesday no one showed up. I called on Wednesday, and only to find out that they have no ideas what am I talking about and that they have no records of the appointment on Tuesday. And then they told me that they are not the company that installed the grinder pump at my house, so I need to call someone else. Only took them 4 days to figure this out...

Used this company a total of five times for HVAC and plumbing over 8 years.  To be fair, their HVAC work has seemed OK to date, but their plumbing work always seems to need 'one more thing to meet code' that they didn't/couldn't/wouldn't do the last time they were out for the same issue (water heater), and always inflates the bill a few hundred dollars more than already costly repairs should be.  Since almost all plumbing issues require timely fixes, even those that are not emergencies, they seem to take great pride is gouging their customers when they know they have little choice but to acquiesce after already having waited a day or two for their representative to show up.  A favorite trick seems to be requiring two men for a particular job, such as helping to manhandle equipment into an attic space.  I have no issue with paying tradesmen for the work they do, but the second man unfailingly DOES NOTHING but sit and watch the first do the installation work for 99.9% of the time spent on site, all the while charging a full hourly rate for being here. To replace my water heater (under warranty!) cost MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL INSTALLATION OF A BRAND NEW UNIT done four years ago.  They also refuse to provide a detailed pricing rundown prior to service.  Avoid like the plague.

After a few weeks and several calls to the office, I was finally able to talk to John's supervisor and he came out and apologized for John's attitude. He assured me that Christianson still maintained the same professionalism and it's just one bad day for all.

Long story short, they finally agreed to perform a leak search and sent 2 technician over, John and Brian. Brian talked to Pat over the phone and finally found that the problem is actually on the intake line punctured by my roofer 5 years ago. Apparently it's not their fault that there is a leak. Wish that they would have more experienced to check that first. However, they fixed the problem for $478 which I think is fair and an honest assessment.

They certainly earned my trust back. I've met John again and he is now a much more amiable person.

Had been happy with their heating and AC service but very disappointed in plumbing service over the years.  We have been loyal customers, paying high prices for what we thought was good work and a good product.   Turns out they don't acknowledge using cheap fittings....don't care about our inconvenience.... Don't care that we are paying over and over for the same thing.    They offer no solutions, no discounts.    We refuse to continue doing the same thing and expecting different results.   (That's the definition of crazy). After interviewing several other companies, and getting bids for various options, it turns out we will get a better product for a cheaper price with a better warranty from a company that really does offer after hours emergency service.

They were fantastic.  I had a leak in my master bathroom that I thought was coming from a totally different location than where they found.  They went right to the troubled area.  They used methods and techniques that I was not aware of to fix my plumbing issue quickly and for less cost than I was expecting.  They certainly could have performed much more expensive and time consuming repairs and I would have never known the difference.  I felt that plumber that worked on my issue was honest, reliable, and trustworthy.  Those characteristics mean a lot to me.  They were quick to come out to house and were very friendly while there.  They were respectful of my property and left the job clean and tidy.  They even went out of their way to check some other issues for me that they didn't have to do.  On top of that, I have a 1 year warranty now on the work that they performed.  I will certainly be calling Christianson back if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.

This company is awful! they do not stand behind their products, and do not care if you are happy or not. They will try to pass the buck to somebody else so they don't have to clean up their mess. Rude people on the phone, and very unhelpful. If you are reading this and have had them install your plumbing for your house at any point (as they have for Lennar and other builders), get ready to have to deal with faulty equipment. They used parts from a company that is no longer in business from being sued for faulty parts, and now they do not stand behind fixing this issue. I would suggest staying away from these guys, and I hope these builders find somebody who is of higher quality than this company.

Beware of this company. They came 2 hours late from their scheduled 8-12 time frame (showed up at 2pm). Our renters took the day off of work to get their AC fixed and all it was was a capacitor. They charged us a $59 service fee plus $149 for the part. MOST companies only charge the service fee if we do not use their service and if we do use it they roll the cost into the part/labor fees. Not Christianson. What a rip off! We asked if they would refund us the service fee for their lack of being on time and they said no. Filing a claim with my credit card company.

I started using Christianson Heating and Air for maintenance checks on both my home's units this year.  I was a bit worried I'd get the hard sell for an upgrade or otherwise but only because I'm a skeptic for just about everything.  They've remove all my skepticism for them now!  They sent Robert out (ask for Robert if you hire them for any A/C work) and he made both visits this year.  One for the Summer season check and thus just today for the Winter season check.  Very professional, very polite, and he took his time to perform a thorough job.  He fully tested the operation of both units, the safety controls, and cleaned/maintenanced the equipment where that was required.  He then gave me a detailed run-down on all that he had done and had checked and told me both units are FINE and didn't try to sell me a thing.  So their maintenance checks aren't just a visual check... they do real work and check the units out thoroughly and I feel much more confident about the operation and safety of both my units now.  And at a very reasonable cost.
I'm an official customer now because I'll be renewing yearly and recommending them from now on.

My air conditioning went out in 100+ degree weather. I called one of the local air conditioning services on yelp that had great reviews. i called and left a message at 7pm but didn't receive a call back until 1pm the next day. by that time, i had already scheduled with christianson. the lady who answered the phone at christianson picked up right away and i had my appt scheduled in no time. she had a deep southern accent and was very sweet. the technician john was fast, professional, and diagnosed the problem immediately. the entire appt lasted less than 30 minutes and my a/c was back online. i would definitely use christianson again.

My upstairs A/C went out last night(luckily it was only 80 degrees in the house) and I needed to get it fixed before leaving on a business trip. I'm new to the area so I checked out Yelp for a reco. Based on the reviews I called Christianson A/C. They were able to come out within  and and a half of my call and got everything fixed on their initial visit. Gill the repair guy was very nice and helpful. Based on this experience I would use them again. I'm giving them 4/5 only because it was a relatively easy fix(still $500) and I would need to use them a couple more times and have the same experience to give 5 stars.

Christianson sends out people next day without any issue and will fix the job quickly. I had to have them come out 3 times in about 2 weeks due to having someone else install my new heater incorrectly. they only charged me the trip charges each time even though they replaced some parts and had to climb up onto a 1942 World War 2 jeep that my husband is working on in the garage--- cant move it and its a pain to climb on but they did it without complaining.

Fast update:  I reviewed this company several years back and have not had the need to use them again until recently. We returned home from vacation to find that one of our zones (the upstairs .. where our HOT bedroom was) was not blowing cold air. It was about 7 p.m. on a Monday when we called Christianson. We were up and running before 11 p.m. . I can't say enough about the prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and really needed service that we received. Why take a chance with a different company when you have the real honest deal right here !

Their booklet was attached to my AC unit and they originally installed the whole system in my house. I called them to discuss that there is water on my filter drpping from the above whenever my system runs. Their technician came and looked at my unit...(literally JUST looked at the unit!!) and told me that everything is fine and there's nothing wrong with the system. He blew a few pipes with a cylinder in his hands and said that the system is good to go. I asked him multiple times that I would appreciate if he checks the Puron level but he said that puron is full without attaching any gauge or looking at anything. I was impressed by the fact that HE is experienced and professional who can just look at the system and tell whats wrong. I paid them $70 and he left. The same day, I noticed water on my filter again, I replaced the soaked filter with the newer one. I started to replace my filter with the dry one whenever i see water. After the week, water started to drip faster and that whole area was wet. I called them again and the technician came again to tell me that he would open the system to see If there's something wrong with the coil and I should expect something between $100-250 to pay.I think he should have been done that the first time he was here to diagnose the problem. I called another company which I am also going to review. their technician came, looked at the whole system, spent time in figuring out the puron level, put Puron into the unit and my system started to work perfectly fine. I knew that people in this industry would take advantage of the fact that Its hot in texas and people with small kids cant live a single day without AC unit working so they charge you whatever they want even if its as small as putting Puron. Not to mention the cleanup of the area that I had after that flow of water to be safe from Mold and Algae. Its HARD to Find honest people in this industry!!!!!!

Knowing that we needed our Pressure Relief Valve replaced(after procrastinating for several months) we contacted Christianson Friday morning to get an on-sitefree estimate. As luck would have it, they called back and said the Technician was in the area and could come right over. I agreed. He confirmed the low pressure situation, and that the valve, indeed, needed replacing and could do the swap right then and there. Terrific~! He was done in less than 90 minutes and at the cost I had budgeted. Polite, professional and motivated. Highly recommended and they will be my 'go to' company from now on. Well Done.

Be careful with them. They will come to your house, pretend they did the work or not fix it correctly and they want to get paid in full right away. They went to one of my rental properties and after a couple of calls from the technician informing me all the stuff were bad, I did authorize the charges of around $800.00 to fix the AC. Well, a few hours later the AC was blowing but not cold enough. I called back to Christianson and they told me that the tenant have to wait at least 12 hours to cool down the house. I informed the tenant about it. Next day the tenant called me, telling me that the house still at 85 F. I have called Christianson several times trying to get somebody out there to fix the issue and they are refusing to go out there because they want to get paid first. What a great scam, I will take your $$$ and then I will try to get it fix. Be careful with this company, their technicians are not that great and their customer services is horrible.

I had one of their guys come out on a problem with a faucet. It turned out to be an easy fix taken care of in less than five minutes. Because he was going to have to charge me the minimum trip charge for 30 minutes, he asked me if I had any other plumbing concerns he could look at for me. I was worried that might result in him suggesting additional work to be performed beyond the 30 minutes, but no! He ended up using the remaining time to tighten some pipes and flush my hot water heater, and it was all included in the original minimum $89 charge. Now, that is how you earn customer loyalty!

Christianson installed the Carrier heatpump system in our 2007 Lennar home, so when we bought it we thought it would make sense to have them service the system should anything be wrong with it. Alas, this was a mistake. As the heat increased it became clear that the system was not running very well - we had very little air downstairs. I had them come out to take a look and make whatever repairs and or adjustments necessary. The technician came out, cleaned it out and pronounced it all in good health. There was still very little air downstairs. I then took a look at it myself and found that the counterweight on the bypass damper was completely loose (came off in my hand) and had probably never been tightened when the system was originally installed - this meant the furnace was basically just blowing air in a loop back to itself. I tightened (something very simple and easy to check, no excuse for not checking this when I pay you to) and it helped some but was still not good enough. I later took a second look and found the damper to direct air downstairs was dead (another easy thing to check that he missed). Wanting to give Christianson the benefit of the doubt and a chance to redeem themselves. I called them up. They came out and replaced the zone damper (which was fortunately still under warranty so they only charged for labor) - things were good for about a day - then there was no air again. I went up in the attic to look at it and found the new damper to have fallen over since it was never properly secured - the technician had just dropped it in without any thought of how it was going to be supported, and in addition there was a huge hole in the duct for the air to escape. Needless to say I repaired it myself this time - doing the job I had just paid them $90 to do - since they got the part for free  from the manufacturer as it was still under warranty. No more benefit of the doubt.  Now the system is having issues again, wonder what other surprises I will find this time...

Had an issue with the pilot light on my natural gas water heater going out every now and then.  I'm busy during normal business hours not much of a phone person  ... I really prefer email as it allows me to document (aka remember) everything said, etc.  So, I used the online form on their web site to ask general questions about how to proceed, pricing, etc.  I received a reply the next morning from Trent Christianson (gotta love a family owned business) with really good feedback  He explained how common the situation was, the main reasons for it happening, and what/how they charge for service.  He also carboned their plumbing service manager, Jerry Sprague, in case I wanted to see about buyiing parts from them (as they're a distributor of my water heater) for self repair, etc.  A few emails back and forth with questions and answers got us to the point where they were able to tell me that my water heater was actually still under warranty -- meaning all normal parts would be covered.  I even received a phone call or two from Jerry to discuss the situation and my options further -- very friendly and down to earth.  I scheduled an appointment for the later part of the next day (asked to be the last stop) and (as promised) received a phone call from them about 30 minutes before they arrived.  The service tech, David, was also very friendly and knowledgeable.  He explained anything I wanted to know and worked quite efficiently.  He gave me tips on what to do (myself) as far as regular maintenance going forward.  He even brought out a big pipe wrench and got the severely stuck spray nozzle removed from my garden hose ... which I was about ready to cut off.  All in all, this company provided me exactly the service that I'd want from a company.

We had a problem with a slight gas leak on one of the water heaters above the garage and we called Christianson Plumbing. We live in a community near Bee Cave. Jeff was our plumber. He found the leak, but in addition we mentioned that we have this knocking sound whenever the shower runs. He checked and found that we had a slight water leak as well and a bad back flow valve(I think that is what it is called). This is part of a recirculating pump we have on one of the water heaters because of the distance to the bathroom meant waiting a long time for hot water. We also mentioned that even with the recirculating pump we wait for a long time for hot water. He checked the timer and the settings were all wrong. The recirculating pump was running during midday and the middle of the night. Maybe the previous owners had odd hours. Well he fixed all of these problems plus giving us an estimate for complete replacement of the water heaters as they are nearing end of life. In addition he told us to get some watchdog leak monitors for about $12 dollars at home depot and put them in the pans under the water heater so we would get a warning if a leak does occur in one of them. Cheep insurance. Also what I liked about Jeff is that he is all business. He gets to work and gets it done but still has time to explain the problem, the solution and the cost.

I called these guys out when my water heater went down. From a little internet research I thought it might be the thermocouple, which keeps the pilot light going.  The tech from Christianson showed up and he was a pretty nice guy. He quickly verified that it was the thermocouple.  He told me he would change it out for $175. I guess I agreed too quickly because he came back 10 minutes later and said that he the screws were corroded and he wasn't going to be able to change it after all, but since I'd now need to replace the entire unit that he'd give me a quote and could get it done for me pretty quickly. After he charged me $89 he also handed me a quote for over $1,300.00.  I declined.  I decided to have a look that evening at what he said was corroded and it was nothing but a rusty nut.  I watched a youtube video that showed me how to change a thermocouple, went to home depot and bought the part for $25, and did it myself. It's been running great for a week now........no thanks to Christianson.  It's really disappointing to know that big companies like Christianson use such slimy tactics to screw people out of their money.  I highly recommend using ANYONE but these crooks.
