HISTORY

Established in 2016.
Daniel's Plumbing and Air Conditioning is owned by Daniel Lawlis. Daniel started in the plumbing industry in 1996 in Houston as an apprentice plumber. He spent four years working for a company that specialized in residential and commercial new construction. As Daniel transitioned into repair and service plumbing, he found that his experience with new construction was very helpful in diagnosing repair situations. Daniel received his Master Plumber License from the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners in 2005, and has since been striving to offer the best customer and repair service possible.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

Hello! I'm Daniel and I'm the face, owner and plumber part of Daniel's Plumbing and Air Conditioning. I began doing plumbing and air conditioning in 1996 back in Houston. I've learned a lot over the years, and not just about plumbing and hvac. I've seen a huge lack of service in companies that customers are wanting, so I created a company that makes that particular aspect a top priority. We put our customers first and strive to make you happy with everything we do, from the work we perform, to the way we talk and dress, to our warranties. We are a family owned business, operated out of Austin Texas. While we understand that dealing with a plumbing problem is no fun, we can promise that you won't regret giving us a call and providing us with an opportunity to impress you.

Christophert Luckett installed a new pressure reduction valve and a water softener system today. I've always wanted a water softener system because of the hard Austin water. One other thing is I've wanted to be able to shut off the water to my house without having to go to the curb in addition that didn't also cut off the functioning of my sprinkler system. The water softener comes with a house shut-off valve inside the garage. It lets me shut off water to the house without affecting the function of my sprinkler system. He was very professional, answered all my questions and didn't mind me watching the installation process. He and his helper did a great job and explained how everything works. Job well done!

The worst service we have ever have gotten...they have been trying to fix our A/c since last summer. They always make excuses and have broken our condenser twice. I am recovering from breast cancer and my
fiance has a lung disease and it is 90 degrees in this house and they have offered 1 portable AC unit. This will probably end with a lawsuit. Worst service and manager ever! Don't waste your money call a company who knows what they are doing!!!!

Confirmed a cost  estimate for my water softener replacement earlier this week; I confirmed that I was scheduled between 8-12 today with a call 30 minutes in advance....
1 p.m. rolls around and no call or text....ran the errands I delayed from a.m.; returned home around 4 p.m....still no call or text. Finally, around 5 p.m. I received a text....not a call...that the technician had an emergency and asked if the 'supervisor' could come by to give me an estimate on Monday.

I hope they are holding their breath....

I have done business with Daniel's for the past few years and should have expected this type of incident.
Although I have spent thousands of dollars for their shoddy service, I was not happy with the last two jobs they performed; I complained and never received a reply, apology or portion of refund of my billing!

To anyone considering Daniel's for your plumbing work....DONT!
Yeah, they have television ads & fancy trucks...but their reputation with me is garbage.
To leave me waiting for an entire day and not have the time  to apologize for wasting half of my weekend is terrible business.
With the volume of businesses that perform this type work in the Central Texas area, none can possibly be this bad.

I will be looking for another plumbing business willing to accept...and earn ...my money.

Had a second experience with Daniel's to service a tankless water heater. The tech wanted $1000 just to diagnose the issue...with actual repairs on top of that...the unit retails for $1800 at Walmart...

We engaged another plumber who diagnosed the problem with a simple inspection...repair cost was reasonable.

We cancelled our annual contract with Daniel's.

Yes your flat rate was over $800 for something that cost me $10 from Home Depot.  Great model.

Hello All,

The Plumber who arrived at my apt was knowledge and friendly. However if you're doing an insurance and or a home warranty claim I would avoid this Plumber at all costs.

This is due to what appears to be predatory Bussiness practices, or a gross negligence of their billing practices

I submitted a call to Daniels Plumbing on Friday Dec 23rd. I was able to confirm an appointment with them for service on Monday Dec 25th. I was calling due to pipes bursting in my bathroom.

I was sadly disappointed on Monday when they informed me they were overbooked with emergencies and canceled my appointment and rebooked me for Thursday. I understood there were a lot of emergencies that were probably more urgent then my water that I stopped leaking, so I had little concern this with.

However my issue came up once they arrived at my condo for the repair. They provided a 2k estimate, and I shared at that time that I wanted to provide it to my insurance, and Home warranty for review prior to paying.

After submitting it too travelers(Insurance), and Old republic(Home Warranty). Both of them requested itemized estimates explaining the labor and part costs.

Daniel has been unable to provide this after 3 days of consistent calls, when contacting their scheduling team one agent was able to contact a manager and insisted a GM or customer care manager would contact me. Another agent told me there was nothing they could do.

The root concerns from my Insurance and the home warranties is prices that cannot be justified, and that seems to be the case with Daniel being unable to provide a breakdown of the charges for parts and or labor.

Dear Daniel management team, You should have multiple notes with contact information for my Home Warranty, and my insurance and their requests.

If not please feel free to contact me and hopefully we can resolve this in a timely manner.

I had a bad experience with Daniel's Plumbing.  They were a no show for an appointment.  They have a very and ridiculously long period of five hours during which they may show up for an appointment.  Most firms use a period of two hours.  Don't rely upon them to show up.

Recently hired Daniel's Plumbing to fix two toilets and replace a kichen sink; sink now leaks between sink and backboard. Whole job was $3750 and was mistakenly charged to one credit account despite the company having prior and accurate info to split large charge between two different cards. Hired a different company today for two different toilets and one bathroom sink; whole job was less than $212. BEWARE DANIEL'S PLUMBING. THEY ARE JUST IN IT TO GROSSLY OVERCHARGE.

Terrible all the way around. They are not welcome back at my house. They did nothing right. They did a yearly inspection  on my AC and hot water heater which left me without a properly running AC and no hot water! I had to have another company come fix what they did! Unreliable and down right terrible!!!

Had our toilet break down and got a next day appt for between 8 and 12. Then no one showed up, called, or texted. finally called myself at 1 to be told they should be there later this afternoon. nope! Finally got a call close to 5 asking to reschedule. obviously we're going with another company now who will show up when scheduled or at least let us know of a delay. so unprofessional and I see other reviews saying this happened to them too. avoid and save yourself the hassle!!

When sewer backed up in our house on a Saturday, I called Daniel's because they offered 24 hour service. Michael was extremely helpful and made every effort to get us service as quickly as possible.
Ray came out and patiently tried to work with our POS home warranty company. He gets a gold star for patience!
Ray's knowledge, experience, and thoroughness averted disaster. He found a septic tank which was a complete surprise to us, our realtor and supposedly the seller. A septic company completed the job of emptying the tank and we're flushing once again!

Don't even bother dealing with this company. I woke up on Christmas morning to find my outdoor pipe burst and was spraying water everywhere. I called a few plumbing companies that morning hoping to get a head start on getting scheduled. Daniel said that someone can come out the following day (on the 26th) in the afternoon and I got scheduled. I read the bad reviews, but thought this might be different situation. I woke up on the 26th morning receiving a text saying that due to high call volume the technician won't be able to make it out. When I reached back out saying that I already had an appointment, I didn't get a response back. Don't get involved with a company that cancels your scheduled appointment when their really busy, that's really unprofessional. I contacted my regular plumbing company that same day and someone came out the same day.

Where do I begin with Daniels. We will start with plumbing. Hired them to do our remodel, so they did everything plumbing wise. Within two weeks I smelled mold coming out of my sons room, found water at his baseboard which butts up against the new shower wall. You guess it, they didn't seal anything and water had been gushing in between our new walls and into sons room, floor and cabinets. Sent someone out who then called restoration people (this is after my husband cuts the drywall so we can get to mold). Two days later guy picks up fans and nothing from Daniels on repairs to the open walls and missing flooring. Calls and calls to them and nothing. They also installed a steam shower, which upon first use, it flooded our first floor, why you ask? Because the installer installed it backwards. 4 months later with no returned calls for the new part they are supposed to install on the steam shower. Plumbers are horrible.

Next phase: the AC/heating. We have their service plan, they burned out our lower unit twice because of wiring issues (it's brand new) that their tech did. And I've just found out after doing checks on both systems, our upper larger unit also new is out in the freeze.

Truly use anyone else, anyone. Not only are they horrible at what they do, once they screw up they won't fix it, they ghost you. I'm convinced they see our number and never answer at this point. One time I got through I had used my moms phone and asked to speak to manager and you guessed it NO ONE EVER CALLED US BACK.

I'll be filing a report with my buddy at AG's office next week.

Had a horrendous experience with this company.  Last Wednesday afternoon, my mother and I were at Dairy Queen on Burnet Road in Austin.  While she was waiting to fill her drink, a man came and cut in front of her and was standing close.  She mentioned that she was practicing social distancing in part because of her age.  The man then replied that he could smell that, apparently meaning her age.  She remarked about his rudeness and the man laughed at her.

I observed him getting into a Daniel's Plumbing truck.  I then called Daniel's Plumbing and the receptionist who answered the phone seemed concerned and claimed to have located the truck.  She was apologetic and got my contact information, claiming that someone from management would contact me.

Over a week later, I have yet to be contacted.  This speaks volumes about their integrity and lack of commitment to customer service.  I can't imagine using them for plumbing work, let alone imagine how they'd follow through on any concerns.

The rudeness of one employee can be overlooked, but the lack of promised follow up is telling.

I loved this company for so long. They showed up on time, plumbers were courteous and respectful, did what  they were supposed fixed problems and went on their way. They didn't laugh too much when a small cup got stuck in the sink drain and they had to loosen the pipe under the sink to pop it out.
Last year when I had my water heater drained, I was told that, if I had the contract, they'd come out for initial diagnostics on a problem at no charge, and that I'd get free annual checkups on my drains/pipes, semi-annual checkup on the HVAC and free water heater drain next year.  Previously, one of their plumbers had come out to give me advice on an outside faucet which I replaced myself, so it seemed like a legitimate contract and a good deal. I bought the contract.
In April, had a problem with low water at my kitchen sink so scheduled  an appointment. Two plumbers showed up. They unscrewed the faucet head and screwed it back on. The pressure got better for a couple of days, but it's lower again.
Daniel's plumbers were here just about 10 minutes, then sat in their vans for about 15-30 minutes before driving off.
Imagine my surprise when I looked at my credit card statement- I'd been charged $89 for a something that wasn't fixed.
I take partial responsibility for not asking for a written contract. They do good work but DO NOT GET THE CONTRACT! I've called to ask that they remove my credit card from their database. I'm done with this business.

I feel like I got ripped off. Pipe burst due to the freezing weather, so i was pretty desperate and they were the only ones who were able to get out to my house quickly, so I didn't have much of a choice. $325 for investigation (cutting a hole in the drywall), $456 to remove a concrete block that was housing the PVC pipe, and an additional $800 to replace less than 2 ft of PVC pipe ($1580).

I was told this was the only option, as they were just restoring water because of the disaster situation in this area (understandable), but the technician wouldn't quote me for the additional full repair, and said I needed to call to schedule an additional follow up. Called that same day and was given an appointment date over a month later. Called a few other plumbers, who not only scheduled me sooner, but quoted me $500 for the full fix (digging into the ground to properly put the pipe, as well as removing the PVC that was installed by Daniels and replacing with copper underground).

Considering it being a disaster situation, my only options were to pay $1500 for a freaking PVC repair, or go another week+ without running water (i could have done everything myself besides chipping the concrete block, so essentially $1100 for removing drywall and replacing a couple feet of PVC pipe). I was also not told about financing options, and was pretty much told i needed to make an immediate decision because they were busy trying to get out to other houses that lost water during the freeze, so i ended up just putting it on my credit card (again, we're in a disaster situation, I'm housing 4 people at my house because they had been without power for days, and i just want to get water restored to my house so we can drink/cook/flush without having to walk to my neighbors house to fill 5 gallon buckets)

Like I said, it feels like I got completely ripped off, which if based on other reviews I'm reading now seems standard for Daniel's (wish I had done this BEFORE hiring them, but they were the only plumber who could service my house that same week)

And to hammer this point down, this was just a TEMPORARY FIX, where now i still need to hire an additional plumber to come out and do a permanent fix that doesn't leave me exposed to another freeze and burst event.

I'm normally a pretty understanding person, but this really makes me feel like I've been taken advantage of.

We were super happy with how friendly everyone was and how straightforward our technician was. We've had a poor experience with Radiant and were very clear we wanted a REPAIR. It's a very busy season but Daniel's made time for us, had the lowest service fee and took all the time to be very clear on the steps they were taking to build our trust. Based on our recent experience we would recommend them! It's too bad the ratings aren't as high as most but we had a VERY positive service and hope this helps with more business! Thank you!

Do your self a favor and call another company. They gave me 3 options to fix my
a/c. The cheapest was $2400 and the guy said with that there is no guarantee it will be fixed so i should go with 2nd option of $5700. I almost did it.. but called another company for second opinion. They fixed it , no problem. For $775!!!! I can't believe they try to scam people on repairs.

We had a water leak 12/7/22.  I called around for an emergency plumber.  At 11:30, Daniel's assured me they would send someone out by the afternoon,  I received a text and an email assuring me of the same.  Problem solved!
Nope...Around 3:30 I decided to call and see when the technician would be out, since the afternoon was just about over.  The representative said, Oh, that call is for tomorrow!  I told her about the first person I spoke to, the email, the text.  She said, Oh, OK.  Sorry about that.  We'll make sure to put you on for later today.  Around 4:00, I called back because the city has shut our water off.  Another representative told me there was no way anyone could come that day.  She apologized for the mix-up and told me she showed an appointment from 8-10 the following day.  What could I do at this point? It was too late to call anyone else...
At 7:47 today, I called and was assured a technician would be at my home from 8-12 (what happened to 10:00 ???) and I would receive a 30 minute call when they were on the way.  I waited until 11:30 and called AGAIN.  THIS representative told me dispatch would have to call me with an ETA.  (???) No phone call.  I called again at 12:00.  This time the representative transferred me to dispatch who then told me she showed it being an afternoon appointment and she would understand if I called someone else.  Thanks a lot!  Never, ever again...

UPDATE: Text received today at 4:40

Hi, this is Daniel's Plumbing and Air Conditioning.  The service technician assigned to go out there is stuck at his current job dealing with a main line issue and is unable to finish out the rest of his day.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.  We have availability for a technician to go out there Monday morning, and if sooner availabilty opens up for today or tomorrow we will notify you.

MONDAY?!?  I called Wednesday morning with an EMERGENCY.  This is the worst customer care I've ever experienced from any brand or service.  They give new meaning to unprofessional.

I recommend to avoid this company at all costs. I had an appointment yesterday scheduled for morning and nobody showed up. After multiple calls they kept saying someone was coming. 5pm hit and I had to contact again and they said my appointment will be pushed to today for first thing in the morning. This morning was a no show again and as we reach the late afternoon, there has been no contact from dispatch for anything. They will keep giving you the run around as they have no contact to the actual drivers as well. Very unprofessional.

TLDR: bad customer service once they get your money, a stick of firewood is keeping my house from flooding from my NEW AC unit after paying 12k, try to get you with surprise in the moment uncharges then the tech offers to do side work at a lower cost & didn't complete the job

Called them because my AC condescension line flooded my hallway to the point that I had to get a water remediation company out to dry out my carpets. Daniel's came out quickly and band aided the drainage issue that was caused by the line coming out at an upward angle which prevented proper drainage, recharged the unit and scheduled me for a new unit instillation as well as putting in a French drain to fix the condensation line issue.

Appointment was scheduled for a Thursday, that day rolls around I get the confrontation text saying they will be there today...1:30pm and no additional communication for my all day job so I call them to make sure they are still coming. Turns out they rescheduled my appointment for the next day without letting me know because they didn't have the equipment. They said they would call me by 4:30pm once they know if they will actually have the equipment for the install the next day. 4:50 rolls around and I call them trying to find out if they are showing up tomorrow or not, find out that yes they will be coming in the morning.

Friday they start installing the unit and they tech who is there to do the free duct cleaning as part of the instillation package tells me my ducts are full of mold and they should stop the installation completely, my AC is fully disassemble at this point. He tells me the vents for my 3 bedroom house should be 20k but that he will only charge me 10k since I'm already paying a 12k bill today for the new unit. I tell him no I can't afford that, please clean the ducts and complete the install. I ask him for a copy of the estimate multiple times throughout the day but the email never comes through. As they are leaving at the end of the day the duct tech then gives me his cell number and says to call him and maybe we can work something out under the table.

Saturday morning, I wake up to a puddle in my hallway again with an AC unit that's less than 24 hours old. When I check outside the French drain was never installed and the drainage line is yet again in the wrong position, the techs on Friday didn't even keep the band aide fix from the week before. I call Daniel's as a Preferred Customer since that was part of the package I purchased, and they send someone out in the late afternoon. Tech band aides drainage line again, this time using a piece of my firewood, and agrees that is the cause of the flooding. I ask if his supervisor can call me and if they can cover the cost of getting the water removed he says he will pass along the message. As soon as he leaves I immediately call and leave a message for someone on the management team to call me back explaining the incomplete job and damage because of it. I'm told everyone is off for the weekend but I will get a call back in Monday. I have to call the water remediation company back out which is $950 and this time they have to remove a baseboard as well as pull the carpet back up and we get another 2 days of living in a wind tunnel.

Monday- called them twice, was reassured I would get a call back short

Tuesday - called them in the morning and I was told my number was being left on the managers desk as well as the return call was in his schedule....never called me back.

I've called on Daniel's multiple times over the past few years, for various issues on 3 separate properties, and I've been happy every time. Every plumber I've interacted with has been patient, polite, courteous, professional, and good at their job.  Mack, Drew, and Morgan in particular inspired me to write this review today, as they just finished installing our new tankless water heater and it's perfect.  Top notch across the board and pleasant to interact with.  The folks on the phone are great, too. When you're fretting about a water problem it's nice to have somebody chipper picking up the phone. It helps.

Thank you, Daniel's Plumbing!

Had this company come out to look at fixing a plumbing leak in our office. He was extremely rude to us and refused to help until we pay him half down before he even looked at the issue. How would he even estimate damage and 50% fee before even looking at the issue? He also then tells us he will only speak to the owner of the building as he didn't trust we have the funds to pay for the service!! We are a major company, never dealt with such a rude vendor! Do not use this company! We asked him to leave as he was rude and called a better company who is coming out now to help us.

I am 150% satisfied with the service I received from this company. Absolutely friendly from start to finish. Prompt in having someone come out to fix my plumbing emergency. Perfect communication. The technician assigned to me was Larry R and he was wonderful. Very skilled and knowledgeable, he repaired my shower at lightning speed. He was very friendly and kind as well. Seriously give this man a raise please!
This company was quick, reliable, friendly, and professional and I will absolutely be recommending them to others and next time I need any help around the house I know who I'm calling. Thank y'all so much!

Roughly 10 months ago my client was under contract to purchase a home in Southwest Austin. Upon inspection it was determined there was an issue with the HVAC system. Daniel's  was called out to diagnose and determined it was a simple inexpensive fix, supposedly repaired it, and we moved forward. While we were completing our final walk-through, I went into the attic to confirm the repairs we made and noticed the pan full of water. The sellers then called Daniel's to come back out. They determined the coil needed to be replaced. Upon replacement, my clients and I closed on the transaction. Fast foward to June 2022, the upstairs HVAC system stops cooling and the ceiling is damaged from leaking water. I advise my client this system is still under warranty to she calls Daniel's to come back out. They state this is not a warranty claim as it's the fault of the owner for not changing her filters... I let her know this absolutely not the case and instructed her to call a 3rd party plumber to inspect. The 3rd party plumber comes out and determines due to improper installation and a failure to support/brace the coil, it had separated at the joints/welds thus causing the leaking, subsequent water damage to the drywall, and failure of the system to properly function. After providing the report to Daniel's they send a tech out who makes the appropriate repairs and the system starts cooling. They say they will work with management to coordinate and schedule a carpenter to come out and repair the damaged drywall. No one ever reaches out on behalf of Daniel's, and despite repeated calls from my client and I requesting they complete the repairs, they never return a single phone call. This has now been ongoing for nearly 2 months... My client and I call several times each week, and on each call we are assured someone will call and this will eventually me made right; no one does. I have spoken directly with the customer service manager Ariel (Monday 8/1). She said she would call me back. Guess what? She never did. I've been told I would hear from the HVAC Manager, Balde. Guess what? Never did.

It's become evident at this point they have no intention of making it right. As such, my client and I will be seeking alternative remedies.

My advice, stay far away from Daniel's. Their customer service is non-existent. Their accountability is non-existent. And obviously, their craftsmanship is sub-standard.

my toilet needed a flapper replaced.  They did the work okay but charged 170.52 to do that.  It was a simple repair that should have been well under that amount.  Their services are very expensive.  I have used them in the past  and have had to call them out almost everytime to come redo something that was done incorrectly.  I do not recommend this service.  I will be looking for a new plumber asap.

I have an older toilet that occasionally clogs -- maybe once or twice per year at most -- so that a plunger won't do the trick. I've called plumbers who've done a simple un-clog for anywhere between $125-175.

For my latest clog, I contacted Daniel's, and, to their credit, they were able to come out later that day. After briefly looking at the toilet, the tech -- friendly and professional -- said he could provide me with options. Those four options included unclogging for more than $350 (!) -- or buying a new toilet. I told him the price for unclogging was ridiculous -- I explained what I'd paid previously -- and he told me to make an offer (I said $150 -- more than fair) and that he'd check with his manager. He came back in to say there was nothing we can do but that they highly recommend we get a new toilet instead, and proceeded to try and sell me on the benefits of doing so.

Given the price quoted for the un-clog, I was highly suspicious of this company's prices and told the tech I'd need to do some research. He sent along a quote for a new toilet via email but hadn't included the toilet's model #. So I sent a follow-up email asking for the model but didn't receive a response.

From the time the tech arrived, we had the feeling this was all about up-selling us more than it was about fixing the simple problem at hand. The previous time we had a clog, about six months ago, the tech came in, unclogged the toilet in minutes, and charged $150. Given our experience with Daniel's, we did indeed decide to go with a new toilet -- but with another company.

I've had a 3-4 interactions with Daniel's since last year.  They came out to install a special UV filter on our HVAC units (supposed to clump up viruses , etc).    Then they came out to do an inspection of our HVAC units in March and said there was a freon leak in one of the units and recommended replacing.  Daniel's priced out a good option and a better, more expensive higher SEER option. I went with the more expensive one and paid for it.  After it was installed , I happened to look at the model number and they installed the cheaper one.  They did ultimately fix it, but it took literally 2 weeks of almost daily phone calls on my end to get a hold of the manager.  I get it that mistakes happen, but once they learned of the mistake , I was still the one that had to initiate the calls and try to get them to fix it.  I don't think they were actively trying to bait and switch me, but the communication was very poor. I would email and call andleave messages and no one would call me back.  I also was told I would get an email with the invoice and receipt, and I didn't receive it until I finally had to call several times asking for it days later bc they didn't pro-actively send it.

So, this past week, my other AC unit stopped working. Daniel's sent a tech yesterday and diagnosed a bad transformer and wanted to charge a significant amount to repair.  They didn't have the part on the truck and said I would get a call this morning to set up appt.  Well, when I called them this morning, their computers were down and was  told I would get a call after they came back online.  My friend happened to refer me to another company (Oscar with True Comfort Air) , who was able to squeeze me in. Oscar came out and showed me the transformer was working (pulling 24 volts) and after some trouble shooting, found out it was a bad electrical switch.  The funny thing about this is I never received a phone call back from Daniel's (even after their computers got back online).

So, in summary, I do not think they were purposely trying to bait and switch and cheat me with the less expensive unit.  However, I think they have very poor communication.  Even when they knew they screwed up they did not take the initiative to fix it.  I had to call repeatedly to get the problem fixed--maybe since they knew I wouldn't stop calling until they fixed it.  I will not be going back to Daniel's in the future.

First, let me note that of all plumbers in the Round Rock area, Daniel's was the
ONLY company that could schedule me for same-day service for a critical sewer backup fix!
All the others had astronomical service fees and a minimum 1 week wait for dispatch
From Ariel, who initially took my call, to technician A.B....everyone was beyond courteous, knowledgeable and pleasant to communicate with. They called, texted and e-mailed me with updates of the techs  arrival time
A.B. went above his duties because I asked lots of questions..
.and he politely addressed every single one of them.

Daniel: never met you before, and you're relatively new to the Central Texas area...but terrific folks like Ariel and A.B.   are going to assure that the others plumbers fall in-line behind you!
From now on,  Daniel's  is the FIRST & ONLY call I make for my future heating plumbing needs !

Their customer service is awesome, but they don't solve your problem. They went onsite couple times and charged me plenty of money and the issue still exist. They try to convince me to replace my pump with them, which will cost 8K, but I tried another company they said my pump is total fine and solved the issue. Same problem with AC, they just don't really solve your problem so they can charge more.

Update: I bought a new Rheem Water Heater from Home Depot but after 5 months it kept turning off. I contacted to city to endure the gas was right. Then I contacted Rheem and, after troubleshooting, they determined I needed a plumber to diagnose the problem for sure, then they'd send the replacement part.

Daniel's got here in a timely manner, and quickly tried to sell me a new water heater. No, I just wanted the part replaced. It was the connection between the heater and the regulator.

Rheem's guaranteed would pay for up to $125 to diagnose and replace. I provided the Rheem phone # and my claim number so no time was lost when Daniel's contacted Rheem to send the proper part. The part was shipped to me and a new Daniel's plumber came to install it. All together, Daniel's spent less than an hour at my house. The bill? $527. No parts, so Daniel's charges over $500/hr. I don't even know a lawyer who charges this. AND this comes with NO GUARANTEE!
I'm grateful for the install which I should have done myself. Live and learn - buyer beware.

I want to change my earlier review of Daniel Plumbing and Air-conditioning.  The manager admitted the job was not done correctly and they came back the next day after reviewing the work the plumber did on the water heater installation.  The technicians changed all the old connections and added a thermal evaporator pump bring everything up to Austin code.   I was also given a 15% refund for my trouble and aggravation.  I'm satisfied now even though it was a cost I was not prepared for.  Thank you Mack for your helping get the job done right and doing right by me.

They quoted me 1500 dollars! for a simple kitchen faucet leak/replacement!!  And they also quoted 250 to unclog a shower drain. Since I was already paying for a diagnosis , I had them unclog the drain. But  I had someone else replace the faucet for less than 200. Do not use them unless you like paying too much!!

This company can not be trusted! They will absolutely rip you off! The door-to-door handy men are pleasant but the behind the scene managers are scummy. They'll make repairs that don't really fix anything and charge you through the roof. Check out the photos from this new installation to see the shoddy work they do. Do these look like new installs and professional level work? Absolutely not! In the end you will have not be satisfied with the work, have to hire a different company to finish the job and just be down $500. Heed my warning, do not use this company if you value your hard earned money and want a job well done!

It's incredibly shameful when a company takes advantage of someone who is dealing with a crisis in their home. It didn't start out that way, their office staff was fantastic and very helpful however when the technician showed up to my house he had the audacity to walk up to my home while I'm in full panic mode about a broken hot water heater, handing me a $4000 estimate. I almost fell over in complete shock!  I do not live in a million dollar home, I live in a small three bedroom in South Austin and clearly not rolling in the dough!  After the initial shock, he told me he can rework the estimate.  While he worked on the estimate, I went in the house and got a hold of an amazing and reputable plumber who did not take advantage of me and in fact was fair priced and incredibly kind in my panicked situation.

What I learned later is that all of these employees get paid on commission as well as a base salary. They are clearly not in the business of helping you through a crisis, but to pad their paycheck. Shame on you Daniel's plumbing for trying to rip people off just to make a few extra dollars!

Thank you Daniel's Plumbing for the quick response and great service. Specially to your Tech. George. He came in and check all my water system and concluded that I needed to replace the PRV. I had a small kitchen faucet leak. I called other plumbing companies who couldn't resolve the issue. Finally I set an appt with Daniel's Plumbing, technician Carlos was most informative and professional and handle our issue within the first 30min. Will definitely call Carlos back if any other issues arrive.

It's obvious from recent reviews that Daniel's has completely dropped the ball when Austin needs it most.

My experience: our tankless hot water heater burst a pipe during the freeze. We ordered a new tankless online and had it ready when the technician, Dallas, arrived. Dallas was great -- no issues there. The install price was $2,100, which seemed REALLY expensive, but on further research is roughly average.

Here's the issue: we were charged a $300 city permitting fee. That same fee had been waived by the city the previous day due to the disaster. The technician didn't know this and charged us, saying we'd be reimbursed. That hasn't happened yet. I've called several times and it's clearly an answering service (with an Ypsilanti, MI #) who doesn't know any of the complexities of the situation here. They're in over their heads.

Quoted me over $400 to snake a simple kitchen clog. The plumber was a total slick salesman. Wasted both of our time. For the record two other plumbers quotes this for around $200. I had the job done for $150 and it took less than 15 minutes. Beware if these overpriced plumbing crooks.

Ever feel like fate is staring you down without you realizing it. I was buying coffee the other day and I saw two guys from Daniels plumbing walking out of a gas station and one of the younger plumbers was as polite as could be, even voluntarily opened the door for several people as they walked in while he was waiting to pay. A common courtesy that is overlooked and often taken for granted these days. I snapped a picture of their van and told myself if I ever needed a plumber, I would call these guys.

2 days later, my hot water heater is working properly and I noticed my water bill spiked since the previous month. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jayne in the office and she informed me of all the possibilities and simple things I could do myself. Plumbers get such a bad rep and I'm sure there are some really bad ones out there but you won't be disappointed by calling Daniels plumbing. Good, honest, reputable and local business that cares about their customers and their employees. After talking with their guys and how proud they were to work for such a wonderful company, I'll never rely on anyone else for any of my plumbing needs!

I called in quite a panic when I realized my hot water heater in my attic was leaking, getting the wood platform and underlying sheetrock soaked. Their tech, Dallas, arrived in an hour; was very courteous; found the problem quickly; made quality recommendations to update my existing install. Of course, this happened on a Friday afternoon! Repairs are scheduled for Monday! I'm beyond comfortable with information I received, quality of the work and personable technician. Call Daniels if you need plumbing of any kind!

I'm glad that other people have had good luck with Daniel's Plumbing. Mine was not.

Called them in June of 2018 with a broken water line in the front yard. They came out, gave an estimate that seemed a little high, but was within reason, did the repair (we had them back out later for a clogged drain) and all was good until September of 2019.

Same water leak in same part of the yard. Called them to find out what could be done and was told that they would send someone out to take a look, but their warranty was only good for one year. Once worker was at the house I was told that the repair would cost $100 more than last year and they could only offer 10% discount IF the break was on their prior work. They wouldn't even dig to determine if it was on their work until I agreed to their price. Worker called his supervisor and was given same answer.

What good are great reviews (we were originally referred by a friend and felt better after reading online reviews) if you don't stand behind your work, would rather quote policy, and not even offer a reasonable solution to my concerns?

Called one of their competitors, who was out in less time, and they offered to do the work for almost half of what Daniel's discount price would have been. To top it off, the repair that was needed was on the work that Daniel's had done last year.

Daniel's has lost a customer, and I will make sure to let friend that referred me to them (real estate agent in N Austin) about our experience.

ALWAYS get another quote!!! These folks quoted $450 for a 1.5 hour job to simply clean a couple drains. The fella tried to ask what were you looking to pay maybe I can get 10% off

When I told him I wouldn't be interested for some reason he came back to my door after calling his manager and said the manager told him I don't know why you even offered a discount in the first place

Weird....

Called a competitor and paid half as much.

I used daniel's plumbing last year for unclogging a pipe, cost me 358$  for about one hour work, and they told me it is the tree root breaking into my pipe, and they gave me a quote of 1600$ to fix it. I was short of the budget by then so I wait for about 10 months. When I called them January 2010 to come fix the pipe, they told me the quote is increased to 2400$! It is almost 50% increase! After I negotiated with them, the final price went down to 2100$, still very expensive. Here comes the best part, after they dug a huge hole and replace the pipe, they forgot to put the dirt back on for two months! I don't understand how that happen and very disappointed with their working ethics. I will not recommend to the other potential customers

BEWARE!! They are polite but cannot and should not be trusted,

They are engaging in price gouging during the winter storm. I had a very small PVC pipe burst on the outside of my home. Luckily no other water pipes burst, No other issues. This was minor fix but a. major obstacle toward getting my water back on.

They quoted me 799 dollars to fix it. It was a one hour job. I was stunned and asked them if this was the usual price.

I had been without water for three days at this point. They insisted it was their usual rate. I was desperate at this point and willing to pay whatever I needed to pay but my instincts kicked in and I said no.

I had another come and fix it for 175 dollars, next day.

The ATTORNEY GENERAL DEFINES PRICE GOUGING AS: Demanding an exorbitant or excessive price in connection with the sale or lease of fuel, food, medicine, lodging, building materials, construction tools, or another necessity.

In mid-March I came home to a water leak near the water meter for my home.  My neighbor happened to be outside and he advised he had the exact same leak a few years ago, and he advised he paid a plumber about $400 to repair it.  Apparently we both had the same sprinkler company who used the same terrible fittings to tap off of the main line to the house.  The leak appeared to be in the exact location of the access point for the sprinkler system.  I tried calling his plumber, but they couldn't fit me in for another week, so I started searching for a highly rated plumber in the area.

I finally connected with Daniel's Plumbing who had good ratings and could come out to the house the next day.

The representative for Daniels showed up promptly the next day and I told him what the issue likely was, and the exact spot the leak.  Daniel's tech advised my initial charge would be $296 to dig the whole and diagnose the issue.  I asked why so much since I knew what the issue likely was, and was advised this was a standard fee and any repairs would have an estimate before moving forward.  I decided I needed the issue fixed and agreed to the steep initial estimate.

After digging, I was advised the issue was in fact what I had thought, and the fix would be easy.  A new T-fitting, along with a 90 degree fitting and a short length of PEX was all that was needed to resolve my issue.  At this point I was thinking Oh.. an easy fix is great.  Considering the amount of work and materials to fix the issue, the final cost should not increase much more

Daniel's tech came back to me with the final cost, it was another $315 ($611 total) for the repair.  I advised this cost was outrageous, the parts alone much cost maybe $20.  I told him I wasn't trying to minimize his skills, but this cost could not be correct.  I was advised he had already discounted the repair and this was the price I had to pay for a repair.

At this point, Daniels Plumbing had me over a barrel, so to speak.  I had already spent $296 to dig a 2' by 2' by 3 foot deep hole, I was stuck.  I reluctantly agreed to pay.

After the work was done and my water on again, Daniels Plumbing reached out via email asking for me to give an online review, or to reach out to them if I wasn't happy.  I promptly replied I was not happy.

At this point, I was contacted by Ashley who listened to my concerns.  I advised I was happy with the repair, but the costs seemed very high for an easy repair and just a few parts.  Especially since I had already diagnosed the issue.  Ashley was very friendly and understanding.  She advised she would get with the owner (Daniel?) and get back to me.

A few days later I was contacted again by Ashley who stated she could get me a 10% refund.  Not what I expected, but I figured at least they tried to work with me.  She stated she would send me a form to sign and the refund would be processed.

Flash forward a month or two as I forgot to follow up, and reached out to Ashley again.  She stated she was waiting for my acceptance of a form and the refund would be processed.  I again agreed and Ashley sent the form over.  This is where my troubles with Daniels' gets interesting.

The form states that in exchange for my $61.10 refund I agreed the issue was fully resolved to my satisfaction, and I would not initiate further action on the matter.  Further, I would agree that I would not, nor could anyone on my behalf post any negative comments about Daniels Plumbing on any social media outlet.  If I had previously posted negative feedback, I agree to delete those posts.

If you are reading this review, you can take the above as you will.  I view it as Daniel's Plumbing was attempting to buy my silence.  I advised Ashley that coercing either positive feedback, or silence by way of a 10% refund amounted to bribery.  If they wanted my silence, they could buy it for a full 100% refund.  I fully expected I would never receive a 100% refund, I made the statement to try to make a point.  Daniels Plumbing of course declined.

Ashley did state Daniel's Plumbing had 4 core values, one of them being integrity.  She further stated This is a standard form we have been requesting any customer we provide a refund to. The form is used as an agreeance that we have resolved the issue.  This is interesting if they occasionally have to bribe unhappy clients with partial discounts, it makes me wonder how many of their positive reviews were bought.

Their service is excellent.  The repair was great.  In my opinion their rates for repair are akin to highway robbery, taking advantage after you agree to their dig fee.

Our AC was a polar delight.  We decided to have Daniel's come out and service it just to keep it in tip top shape as the summer heats up.

They came out and, of course, made all kinds of recommendations which we did not choose to take.  The next day our capacitor went out.  We called them, because how does our AC break they day after they service it.  They tell us it will be $330 to fix and they will give us a 10% discount.

I'm clearly not paying someone to fix something when it very much looks and feels like they broke it to get more money, so I called around.  Another reputable plumber is on his way now to fix the same issue for $189.

I just want to warn people so they don't get scammed.  It is a shame that people are taking advantage of others in this time.

When my hot water heater broke unexpectedly, Daniel's Plumbing was the only company that answered the phone when I started calling around. Wonderful experience, remodeling my 80's retro bathroom and water pipe broke called and Nick was out immediately the next day, Nick also found my shutoff valve outside was not working properly. Everything was done in one day and brought up to today's standards can't thank him enough for the quick response, professionalism and quality of work.

One week later, follow up, put in the new vanity and a friend attempted to hook up the sink, 3 tries later and it still was leaking I called Daniel's. They got me right in first thing the following morning with Drew. He came out and had my sink up and running in about 30 minutes or so, what a relief to know that everything is up to date and the quality of work is spectacular and guaranteed. No one wants a plumbing disaster on their Saturday morning, but we had one yesterday when my husband (not a plumber) tried to replace a washer on a leaky bath faucet and managed to make a little problem a whole lot worse.

We called around several plumbers (after consulting Yelp reviews) and Daniel's plumbing ended up being available and didn't charge any call-out fee.

Garrett was wonderful. He called us to tell us he was on his way, he quickly examined and diagnosed the problem, and gave us a few different options for a fix. He was knowledge and professional, and kind to our toddler who was very curious about what was going down in the bathroom.

Highly recommended, will be the first plumber we call in the future.

We needed to have a dishwasher installed.  After searching a bit I found Daniel's Plumbing.   The lady I spoke with was professional, courteous,
and quick to take care of business. She gave me an appointment with an installer the next day  On Aug. 13, 2021, as the appointment time started approaching I was sent a text showing a picture of the installer that was coming out.  Also his first name and last initial were included and the text stated he would be calling to give you the estimated time of arrival and they had a link where you could track him.  Our service expert was Carlos G.  He was prompt and did an excellent job of installation.  He also positioned a drain hose where it would not get clogged since we had had a history of that. He did promote using their service to also oversee our heating and AC, etc. but we also had that service. He offered to look around and make sure the water heater was ok,  he checked our water pressure and showed my husband and I exactly where to turn the water off if we ever needed to. The only drawback was the price for installation. It was $597.93 and that was with a 5% discount because I paid with a check

Very nice service guys, prompt, etc. but wow!!!! extremely expensive for simple stuff during normal business hours, $375 to fix a few loose handles and stuck diverter on tub. $410 to put some insulation on an exposed copper tube. Both calls were about an hour long with very minimal parts. I think my lawyer is less expensive than these guys... maybe I'll call them next time! Btw, would have done it myself but selling my house and needed it done professionally with an invoice, oh well!

Curious if technicians are paid a commission... just asking.

Had to pay $100 for a quote at a rental.. I should of walked away then but didn't since I could use that towards the repairs. Anyways they wanted $3200 for a water heater replacement!!!! A water heater that costs about $500. Therefore wanted $2700 for the install!! What a rip off, install takes maybe 2 hours. Wish I had seen their reviews on Yelp before contacting them. I was able to get my water heater replaced with install for $1500 with someone else. Keep looking elsewhere this company is taking advantage of people that don't do their research.

I suspect that Daniel's is trying a business strategy to raise rates and push for additional services not necessarily needed.

I have used Daniel's in the past and was happy enough, so I had them out to look at my tankless water heater and was told it would cost $1,700+. I decided I should check with the installers (ARC), who did the work for $1,100.

But I had no hard feelings, so when our toilet was acting up (flap leaking) the following day, I called Daniels.

A fellow came out and checked the toilet (5 seconds) then went straight to the kitchen table where he began pricing differing scenarios. He strongly suggested I go with a whole new toilet, which was stupid, because I just needed a new universal kit installed. After about 20 minutes, he told us that would cost $477 to repair. Despairing for lack of time and patience, I agreed to it.

He went to the truck, got a kit and installed it in about 10 minutes, all the time talking about how much better a new toilet would be. It broke down to $249 for an hour of labor and $228 for a kit. A regular kit at Lowes goes for about $20, but he says this one is metal inside, so it's better. Sigh. It better be.

Looking at the bottom of the invoice later, I note that it says:
If you sign this and fail to meet the terms and conditions, you may lose legal ownership rights to your home/business. I understand Daniel's Plumbing and Air Conditioning will file a lien against my property if I do not pay for the work performed in accordance with this agreement.
This seems a bit extreme, and rather rude.

Between the $6,000 overcharge on the tankless water heater, the silly upselling on a new toilet and the overpricing of that bill, I won't be using Daniel's anymore.

Never again! I had an external water hose faucet that had been leaking for over a week. I was recommended Daniels Plumbing by Homeadvisor, so I accepted the recommendation and scheduled them to come out on 02/29/20. You know the feeling when you know you're getting screwed. The $982.00 estimate was to replace 3ft of copper pipe and remove half a brick to access the exterior water hose faucet leak.

In my gut I knew better. Still, I went ahead and agreed because I had been waiting most of the Saturday afternoon and didn't have time to waste, with no telling how many gallons of water that had already been wasted from the leak. This job ended up taking no more than hour to complete. Had I known that, I certainly would have sought to find an honest plumber or company. I even told the plumber George to his face, that it didn't look like $982.00 worth of work. He said they have to go with the company's matrix for flat rate pricing.  It ended up being no more than 2-3 inches of copper pipe and shut off valve.

A few days later I brought this to the attention to Daniel's Plumbing about their  invoice/receipt for the exact labor rate and supply costs that could justify this overcharging.  I made the case that this was unethical and illegal under deceptive trade practices, because the estimate vs the actual work performed were to the contrary.   I explained that there was no where on earth or in hell that a 2-3 inch copper pipe and shut off valve were $482.00 in parts and labor was $500.00/hr. See my point? This was a rip-off at its finest, unsavory and highly unethical.

I work in the OAG's  office, so I began writing up my my complaint to file with the TX OAG Consumer Protection Agency, before I received a response from their Director Operations willing to negotiate a amicable resolution.  In the end we agreed to a 50% refund that I thought was fair.  I can say that I appreciated his consideration and cooperation, and had this all never happened in the first place. I would have given them a 5 star rating.  I'm sharing this experience because both consumers and businesses need to know this stuff and learn a lesson in better business practices.

Had a water leak in yard..called and made an appointment and scheduled..I was called and they had a serviceman finishing a job nearby and rescheduled me for an earlier time which was great.
Frank Morales, the serviceman arrived ,saw the leak area and proceeded to dig to locate...tree roots and rocks were removed and leak located...Frank has a shop vac which removed the water and PVC piping with connections were put in place and leak was fixed. Due to very wet conditions, roots and rocks encountered leak repair took 3-4 hours.
Frank was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable about the turn offs and options available.
Very pleased with repairs and will contact Daniel's Plumbing for future plumbing and AC repairs needed.

I had what appeared to be water stains on my ceiling on the 1st floor of my 2 story house, so I decided to call to and have them come and check it out. The technician proceeded to cut 2 holes into the ceiling to see if he could locate the reasons for the stains on the ceiling. Basically he shined a flashed light into the piping and PVC tubing but was unable to determine the source of the stains on the ceiling. To do the investigative work alone cost me $500 only to find out they could not explain the source of the stains on the ceiling.  The cost of their work is unreasonable expensive. Next time I will do some shopping and ask for quotes before having anyone come out.  Lesson learned.

Plenty of heads up on when the technicians would arrive, including a text with a photo of the technician. Larry was super-knowledgeable, explained everything, laid out the options and even put together a quote for some additional work i asked about.

Very please with the service, will definitely use them again!

I had Daniel's plumbing come out to tell me where a sewage line was located.  I am not sure what happened, but the line started leaking after they located it.  There is no telling if the work done caused the leak, or if  the line was faulty already and the action of stuffing a camera/sensor through it caused a bigger leak to where we noticed.  Here is the good part; when we called to alert them to the leak, they came out and fixed it free of charge.  It should be mentioned that the initial location of the line was way off, again I am not sure what happened, it may be that the sensor used was out of calibration.   Apparently Daniel's plumbing stands behind their reputation and work to make things right if things does not go according to plan.

I called Daniel's plumbing to replace a bathtub faucet and shower fixtures. The plumber arrived on time and assessed the situation. He then quoted me a price of just over $1400. I thought this was pretty expensive but in the timeliness of redoing my bathroom i needed this work completed now. While this plumber was working I called and got estimates from 2 other plumbers. Both were around $600. After a conversation with Daniel's office staff the next day it was decided that I had not been afforded available discounts and a solution was reached that I believe was fair to both myself and Daniel's plumbing. I will continue to use Daniel's for all of my plumbing and HVAC needs.

I called and they were able to come the next day.  The kept me informed of when the technician would show up and set a picture.  Sean provided excellent service and took time explaining what he was doing.  they are a bit pricey, but well worth it when the job gets done quickly, professionally, and on time.

Unfortunately the technician did not show up on time. The appointment was set to be between 8 and 12. I understand that there can be issues that delay an appointment. But the proper thing to do would be to call to give a heads up.
Instead at 1 I called them and they said sorry the previous job was taking longer. They did finally email me to say they were on the way. They arrived about 3:40. The tech reviewed the work needed done. And went to the van to come up with an estimate. The took another 20 minutes.
Once he came back he started with the up sell to their preferred plan. I declined. Then the price estimates for the work were crazy high. It was over $400 to replace a washer in a faucet. At that point we declined the work. And it was $450 to snake out a slow drain. We also declined.
Not a good experience at all.

Very polite, competent, and careful team of Nicholas and AB. I had a leak in the water main very close to the sprinkler system valve. The proximity of a redbud tree was a problem. They fixed it! And I had water again.
My issue was afterward when my bill for excavation of a 2x2 hole, labor, a foot of pipe, and a plastic valve was $1200. Yow. Great service, competent team....at a very very steep (excessive?) price.

Our throne was wobblier than a hobo full of Mad Dog, so we called Daniel's Plumbing to see if they couldn't bring some stability to our porcelain perch.

Jim (I do not know if he has a last name, but legends often need only one name) spent a while grappling with the demons that apparently live under our home. He mentioned something about a finicky flange being the likely culprit.

Jim performed the necessary exorcism with a great attitude and friendly demeanor and didn't even try to hit us with a big bill for his services. For this we are truly grateful.

10/10 would call on Daniel's (and Jim) again!

I asked for a recommendation via the Nextdoor.com app. It was suggested I call Daniel's. I had first called another company. They told me that my Whirlpool water heater was too old, hard to get parts for and might be a couple days before it was working again. They wanted $225 just to come to my house for a consultation later in the afternoon. Was pretty worried at this point.

I then called Daniel's Plumbing and Air Conditioner. Wonderful young lady took my information and explained she would get a tech to call me once he was free. 20 minutes later I got a call that the Tech was free and would be calling me. 5 minutes later Garret called to tell me he was on his way from downtown Austin.

I was really worried about what it would cost for this. Garret showed up with a smile and told me not to worry. He lit the heater within a few minutes. Did full safety check in closet and attic. Discussed maintenance for the unit. Fantastic service. I was able to breath again.

He stayed for a while to discuss some great offers to replace my aging unit. Even a chance to get a water-less heater on the side of my house.

I have found my new Plumbing and Air conditioning service. Thank you Garret!!!

I understand everyone's busy due to the cold spell... HOWEVER, I feel that this company was either dishonest in their ability to service my home or incompetent in scheduling their workforce. I made an appointment on Feb 17th when a frozen pipe burst and flooded my master bedroom. Daniel's kept sending text messages to confirm that they will be at my house on Feb 21st, so I did not try to schedule another plumber and did without water for 5 days. On Feb 21st they confirmed they would be there between 1-3pm, only after waiting all day, to  tell the could not make it. I ended up fixing the busted pipe myself. These people were USELESS to me. If they had been honest I could have continued to look for a plumber.

We've had a few plumbing issues in the 6-months of owning our current home. Due to timing and availability we've had to use a couple different companies. I'm really impressed with Cleveland, who works for Daniel's plumbing. He's super friendly, very knowledgeable and gets the job done in a clean and efficient manner. We'll be calling and asking for him for any future problems. Highly recommend!

Well...I tried..I really only needed a diverter valve but to make everything look pretty and new..the gentlemen wanted to replace the other 2 valves for hot and cold,  the 3 handles..the shower head with the arm and the tub spout..I am so happy that the office was closed and he was not able to contact them to give me an on the spot estimate otherwise my wife would have told me to put it on the credit card, she's a bit of a push over..because the next day...I was amazed at what they sent me..I literally went to the home Depot after work and priced 15 bucks for a diverter and maybe 12 bucks each for the valves..I guess I can do it myself after all..and it was very easy..Nice people but OMG...price gauging at its finest. So just for shits and giggles 1,473.00....

Daniel contacted me a few days after I posted my initial review. We had a good discussion and he agreed his company had dropped the ball with regard to communication and follow-up. He said that he's spoken to his staff and he emphasized that he believes in the value of training and learning from mistakes. Furthermore, he refunded the service charge to me, even though I wasn't really looking for that.

Interestingly enough, about 2 weeks after we spoke, I actually had a plumbing emergency in my home where the bathtub faucet wouldn't turn off and my main water cutoff valve was rusted. Luckily, the water was draining through the tub, but a lot of water was wasted. I contacted Daniel's Plumbing and spoke to Ashley. She remembered me and arranged for a plumber to come out in a few hours. When the plumber was running a bit late, she called me back to give me an updated ETA. Once the plumber arrived, he assessed the situation and gave me quote for replacing the bathtub valve and the water cutoff valve. He did a great job and was thorough, clean and answered all of my questions.

After these experiences I won't hesitate to call Daniel's again, given their commitment to customer service and high quality service.

Thanks Daniels!

We recently moved in to our home and hadn't tried using the garden spigot, so when we did, it ended up snapping the old, corroded piping and gushing water into the yard.  Thankfully, Ethan was able to come to our rescue within a few hours and he didn't just do a temporary fix to stop the leak, he created a custom, permanent solution that will let us use the garden spigot from now on.

Ethan was courteous and professional.  I plan on using Daniel's for any other plumbing issues we find with our home, as long as we can have Ethan as our technician.  He was absolutely outstanding.

My garbage disposal was leaking and stopped working so I checked Yelp to find a plumber who was recommended on Yelp.  Called around 5:30 PM to inquire when they could replace the unit and they offered to come between 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM and they carry two models on the truck - a lower cost unit and a high end stainless steel unit - I told him I want the stainless steel unit.  Quoted installed prices on the phone so no surprises.  Came, took out the old unit, fixed a blocked line to my ice maker (no charge), and replaced the unit and was finished by 8:00 PM.

This wasn't an emergency but they still came immediately when it could have waited.

I would use them again - I got the plumbers card with his direct number.

After my gas line to my stove and the water line to my refrigerator was removed due to some new floors, I needed a plumber to check the lines and put new ones in (I could have done it myself, but I am a bit cautious with gas). I used the Yelp Quote to find a plumber and I was set up with an appointment for Daniel's Plumbing to come and check it out. The scheduling was easy, although we had to reschedule once due to an emergency that they had to deal with (it worked out well for me).   Once they showed up, everything went well. Jim came in and checked the lines and made sure everything was right. He talked to me about maintenance and gave me some good information about my gas and refrigerator lines. He was very courteous and great.

I would use them again in a heartbeat.

They said the appt. would be at a specific time, though email confirmation only had the date and no time. I called to confirm the time as I was on a tight schedule and they said that was correct. They said the plumber would arrive with all of the necessary parts.

I called when the plumber was not there at the appt. time and was told he was in a meeting and was not even on his way. When he finally arrived almost an hour later, he did not have the correct parts. The service was disappointing and over priced. $355 for about 30 minutes of work.

Daniel's has been really good to me; they came in as a second opinion and were able to find the problem before I let the first plumber do exploratory surgery with a jackhammer in my garage. They are all the things I want in a company I need to rely on to fix something major and necessary in my house - responsive, accurate, honest, and very competent - I will work with them again and feel confident that this will be my experience with about 9 out of 10 of the people I work with. I honestly have nothing but glowing reviews for Alec, Cleveland, Carlos, Ash, Diane, Manny, Charlie - I am just rattling off a few of many people who got the work done, advocated for me with the City, and responded when I eventually did have concerns.
I know some projects are harder than others and that mine was a nightmare from both my perspective and Daniel's crew. Because of the City jerking us around in all kinds of ways (my wastewater service line needed to be replaced and there was an issue connecting to the city tap) my yard was split open for over 50 days and there was a lot of back and forth, starting and stopping and not knowing which day Daniel's would be free or the City would be there to inspect. I understand it's a nightmare for them too, but at some point I began to feel that the site manager Daniel's assigned was not communicating sufficiently or getting the job done as well as he could. He was very polite, friendly, took responsibility when things didn't go right or he forgot to do things he said he was going to do, but that was way too often and it seemed clear to me that I was not a priority a ways before we were done. I won't list all my grievances here, because I finally lost it just before the finish line and called Daniel's and they heard me out. From then on, the management at the office made sure I knew every day what was happening with my house. When your yard has looked like the site of a drone strike for 2 months, it's not a good time to feel neglected as a customer. That hasn't been my experience with Daniel's before then or since. It could have been a perfect storm, but because of the way things went onsite, it was hard to even say thank you at the end (to the site manager - I've said it to everyone else more times than I can count and I could go on saying it - but instead, I will just give them the inevitable business this 50 year old house has to offer.

I had a clog in my clothes washing machine drain. I tried vinegar, and then pro quality drain gel, with no results. I found Daniel's Plumbing (#2) on Google, and had them over for an estimate. I was forewarned that 95% of washer clogs are a broken pipe. and Since we can't get the snake around the indention where the top of the drain is, we'll have to go on the roof, and run it down the vent pipe, and that will be $405.00. After about 20 minutes, they approached me, (quite courteously may I add) and informed me the problem was a broken pipe, and they would have to rent an air spade, to blow the dirt out and around large roots from a nearby tree, and run a new line under my greenhouse, and over to a clean-out, about 36 feet away, and with a 10% handi-capped discount, it would cost $3,650.00, and take 2-3 days. They would also have to bust up a section of sidewalk, and I could also hire them to repair it. I wrote the check for $405.00, and told them I would sleep on it. I talked to 3 people (in the know) and it sounded fishy to all three.
I just got finished with a different plumber, (#1) (and house) in a small town, an hr away from Austin, and had him (and a helper) drive to (and fro) Austin, and UNCLOG the drain in 15 minutes, for a grand total of $190.00. What a nice birthday gift! $3,245.00

My old house's plumbing in the blue bathroom quit on me.  I was given a price, and, lo & behold, after Larry worked his tail off and wrestled that plumbing until it was finally fixed, the price I paid was the same as I had been quoted.  Larry was so professional and well-tuned to the old-fashioned plumbing, and I am grateful for the results he really worked hard to attain.  You guys are my go-to for all plumbing work I need done!  THANK YOU AGAIN!!   I will be replacing my water heater next, so THANK YOU for the repeat customer discount, for the great customer experience, and for sending such qualified folks to help me out.  I really count on you

I would never recommend nor use this company again. They are incredibly over priced. The guy they sent out didn't know what he was doing. Left for an hour, came back to finish job and damaged our back wall while soldering a pipe. I left for work and when I came back there was no water coming out. The guy was in such a rush he forgot to turn something back on.  I called the office and they said It was not an emergency so they didnt send anyone out to fix the mistake and said I would be charged $59 if someone did. I ended up having to use youtube to turn the water heater valve back on. Worst experience ever.

Unfortunately I've had to call them out twice, but fortunately both times they were amazing!  The first time the kitchen drain wasn't, and not only did they use this cool machine to clear the clog (and warrantee it), they put the stuff back under the sink afterward!  The second time I just wanted a toilet installed, but they also changed out the valve for free, just cause it wasn't pretty (some rust)!
If you don't want extras, pampering and professionalism, call another plumber.

I have been looking for a reliable plumber (for years) that can service a home that I have in N. Austin.  I have had a hard time getting a plumber over to that house in the past.  Daniel's plumbing was able to get to the house the next day (non-emergency service).  The plumber was highly professional, and very helpful.  They had to fix a small problem that was not addressed correctly by a previous plumber.  The plumber, Frank, went above and beyond!  And, he was extremely conscientious (due to COVID-19 concerns).  He disinfected everything before he left.  I will definitely use their services again!

Wow, these guys are fantastic. We are having a holiday party today and of course the sink decides to clog right as I begin cooking. They gave us a window of 12-6 and then delighted us by being able to come even earlier. The guys that came to our house couldn't have been more friendly/quick. Then, when it came time to pay, they made sure to not overcharge given the minimal amount of time it took to fix. Cannot recommend then enough! They've saved us more than once!

Plumbing repairs are never fun.  That said it happens and I am very happy we found Daniel's plumbing.   John and Jeremiah were on it and very responsive to all my questions and requests.  They figured out how to fix really poor work that had been done in my house by a prior plumber and fix some serious long term problems that work had caused.  It was very complicated but they found the right solutions.  The work was A+.  I will be using them again on a future bathroom remodel.

I actually used Daniel's because of the good reviews on Yelp and our usual go to plumber was charging outrageous service call and hourly fees.  Daniel's waived our call fee and had their technician scheduled and to my home on the same day to service our hot water heater that had stopped working.  The issue with our unit was quickly resolved for no charge.  I will definitely contact Daniel's the next time we have an issue.

Fast response for a bid on a new hot water heater. The tech, Mackenzy was timely and very knowledgeable. We discussed tankless and traditional. Unless you want to shell out a MINIMUM of $679 for a simple drain clog issue, avoid these people.  A MAJOR rip-off even for an emergency that took the technician 5 minutes to clear the issue.  I don't buy their claim that the price is competitive.  I'd give this experience a zero-star if I could.

Travis and Brandon just finished up a job at my house and did an outstanding job.  They arrived an hour and a half after I called for an appointment and didn't stop until the problem was solved.  I love that they go above and beyond by wearing booties over their shoes so that they don't track in dirt. Also, knowing that I have dogs, they made sure to tell me that they used acid to unblock a pretty nasty clog and to keep my dogs away from the place it drained outside for a day or so, for their safety.  Great guys, great service.

Researched on yelp and BBB as well as polled some friends (no help!) for a new plumber since the one I had been using for 5-6 years is no longer here.  I chose this company and did a request for quote on yelp.  After a few minutes, I decided to just call.  Ashley was so friendly when she answered the phone and stated she had just read my request and was responding.  I received a time frame of 1-3 the next afternoon, which is what I wanted.

I was called 20 or so minutes before the plumber was to arrive.  I believe his name is Michael.  He and a helper arrived at 1:15.  I showed them the very, very slow tub drain that needed a good clean out and explained that over the last 10 years, it had started needing that about every two years or so due to old piping that will snag hair and build it up.  I told them that my previous plumber used a machine and a snake and all was good within 15 min.  I mentioned I had a new shower head, I would like them to install for me if there was time within the hour.  He said he would do that for me at no charge.  It turns out they do not have an hourly fee, but charge a flat rate for various services.  I was disappointed to have to pay 3x what I paid my individual plumber ($60/hr), but I know that is the way it is with plumbing companies (used one many, many years ago).

Both of the men were friendly, explained what they were doing, explained the flat fee that is for simple clean outs or even if it takes several hours, etc.  My shower head was missing a rubber ring and the helper went out to the truck to retrieve a box of them.  Very nice.  The shower head was installed, and Michael showed me the different flows I could choose.  We also talked about how my drain cannot hold a strainer since it has a piece that sits up and cannot be removed.  The helper said I could find a tall strainer at Target that can go over it that has suction to hold it in place.  They were professional, friendly, on time, went above in service, and were finished and on their way within 30 min.  I would definitely contact them again.  On a side note--I do wish all plumbing companies would list their fees for various services on their websites.  It would be helpful.

Daniel's Plumbing gave us an estimate for a wastewater pipe replacement in our yard that turned out to be over $10,000 more than the other plumber we hired.  They gave us false information about all the work they would allegedly have to do in order to dig up the pipe and replace it.  In addition, on that visit for the estimate, they charged us over $400 just for sticking a camera down in the pipe to see any issues.  This took roughly 15 minutes to do and they came back with already known information.    We decided to go with American Plumbing and Heating who not only did the job to code, but in fantastic time.   If you contact Daniel's Plumbing in the future, we would strongly advise you to get multiple estimates to compare to theirs.  We can understand a few hundred dollars difference, but over $10,000 for the same job?  No way.

Daniel's Plumbing saved the day! I woke up to water pouring out of my water line, into the street. Luckily my tech, Brandon showed up within a half hour of my call. He was apparently the only tech working at that point but the Daniel's team went out of their way to call in another tech, which ensured that Brandon could stay and work so my water didn't have to be left off longer than necessary. Overall - professional operation, prompt, knowledgeable tech and the price was fair. I also love that the dispatch team was so communicative on timing and even texted a photo of Brandon so I knew who to expect.

Out of all the plumbers I called, Jeremiah was quick in returning my call and was the only one availabe WITHIN THE HOUR, all others were available in 3-4 days. To his suprise, removing the clog was a bit more complicated than expected, he even stepped out a couple of times just to find the right tools in order to fix the issue. 4 hours later, he was able to remove the clog. He honored the price that was discussed at first (I was thinking he was going to bump it a bit since he ended up doing a lot more work than what he explained) and cleaned up after. They document their jobs using a software (very organized), they also accept any form of payment (cash, credit card, checks), and they have an option to send the invoice via email (a modern and convenient process). Jeremiah is a nice, polite, and professional person. I highly recommend these guys.

Had an emergency.  Water leaking out my front yard due most likely to busted pipe underneath.  Called Daniel's Plumbing due to their reviews on yelp.  Friendly office person who scheduled me sooner than she expected knowing my situation.  They came in lower than my regular plumber and since insurance does not cover this, I went with them.  Plumber Wyatt was friendly, cordial, and diagnosed the problem quickly.  He began work and was finished in an hour.  Yard was left neat.  I was very pleased and will refer them and use them again.

I am the proud owner of a flipped/remodeled house that seems to have unsurmountable and unknown crazy making issues with it. The quote, This is going to be the death of me started to have true meaning to me regarding the house over the last 7 months. I will skip over the insane details and get down to recommending Daniel as a plumbing hero.
Issue 107: the plumbing is backing up from the street/Issue 108: I no longer have hot water in the bathtub/ Issue 109: there is no longer water pressure in the master shower.
I interviewed 5 different plumbing companies and although most were in the $130 to $190 an hour range, the overall bids on fixing the issues were from $300 to somewhere over $1000. One guy told me he would need to go through my living room wall to fix the shower. (I told him he needed to leave my house quickly.)  I contacted Daniel and he showed up on time and accessed the situation. He was knowledgeable, calm and professional. He fixed everything. I have hot water! I have water pressure! The clean out line is working! (whatever that is :) I give Daniel a billion yelp stars!

Hate leaving bad reviews but. Unreliable, lost my trust before they even started work. I made it clear to them (thrice) that I have a home warranty and they needed to work with the warranty company to get the work order approved, otherwise I wouldn't get any coverage. I told them if they didn't want to do that - fine, just let me know. Granted, working with a home warranty is a pain in the neck, with phone calls and all. They did half the way, the only thing left was to submit their quotes to the home warranty - and at that point they stopped returning my calls and texts. I told their dispatchers - you guys don't want my business, ok, fine, just let me know - I did almost all the way with you and lost a lot of time. No minimal courtesy of returning a call for a week. So that you know - if this company doesn't like the work they will drop you without even letting you know. At least I haven't spent any money on them yet, just lost lots of time. Beware.

End to end (pun intended), a great experience. Ashley with dispatch did a great job noting the issues we were having, setting expectations, and scheduling service. Once Larry was on his way, Ashley called to let us know. Larry quickly identified the problem, explained his methodology, communicated cost and with our approval, Larry fixed everything right up. True to their commitment, Daniel's exceeded expectation. Can't recommend them enough.

I had Daniel's Plumbing out again, and I'm pleased to say they did an excellent job (again!). It was a pinhole leak in the wall, and while they were out here, I asked them to install a new shower valve. The first team ran into a couple of roadblocks. The next day Mike L. showed up and did a beautiful and expert job of finishing the leak repair and the shower install! I highly recommend this company and would cheerfully use them for any plumbing project. My name is Walter Stewart, I'm a real person, nobody asked me to write this review, and I don't know any of their people. I can be reached directly at 512-402-9522 to vouch for this review.

HIGHLY recommend. My experience from start to finish absolutely exceeded expectations. I was given a 2 hour window and got a text AND phone call before the window even started, letting me know Brandon, my technician, was on the way. Brandon was very polite and thorough and explained everything as he did it. Kat, who mans their phones, is absolutely lovely and helpful as well. I hope not to need a plumber anytime soon, but when I do, I will absolutely call Daniel's Plumbing.

I recently purchased a home and needed an emergency repair to my bathroom sink drain and cut-off valves.  Daniel's Plumbing is a locally owned and operated small business and was recommended to my by another local handyman (Mr.512 Handyman & Hauling).  They have competitive pricing and do not charge additional call-out fees.  When they arrive, the quote is all-inclusive, so you know exactly what you will pay for the job.  They were able to come out the same day and my technician was knowledgeable, respectful and finished up quickly.  I will absolutely recommend them to family/friends and I will be calling them again if I have any issues.

After purchasing a home and a brand new, amazing washer and dryer set, we realized the gas line for the dryer was about 3 inches lower than it needed to be. I called Daniel's Plumbing and received a voicemail response saying that all calls were returned within 10 minutes. I thought that was a pretty ambitious commitment, but I left a message and hoped it were true. I received a call back in about 7 minutes and easily scheduled my appointment for a free estimate. Our technician showed up on time, gave a fair estimate for moving the gas line and fixed the problem in less than an hour. I highly recommend Daniel's Plumbing!

When we tried to install a bidet attachment to one of our toilets, we quickly realized that the toilet shutoff valve was completely corroded and non-functional. Daniel was able to make it out same-day and not only replaced the valve quickly and non-disruptively (my cat didn't run away and hide--a high compliment), but he also saw the bidet attachment set to the side and went ahead and installed it for us. Then, because the bidet attachment came with some hose that he was going to replace with the shutoff valve, he took $10 OFF the original estimate, basically for doing extra work for us! We'll definitely be using him for any plumbing needs that come up in the future.

What a great plumbing company we found today! Daniel's Plumbing was there for us when we needed them the most!! Mike came out to replace our sink on the same day we called because we needed someone ASAP and they accommodated us. From reading all the reviews on Yelp I soon realized that this was the company I wanted to try and glad I did! They have great customer service!! The person who answered the phone was so friendly and Mike was just a wonderful person all around with a very kind and bubbly personality!! The only drawback is that they are not the cheapest but it was worth it! I highly recommend them for your future plumbing needs!

Had a clogged water drain causing the kitchen sink and the washing machine from draining; had water all over the floor. Daniel's Plumbing came out and diagnosed the problem and cleared the line in about 30 minutes. The service guy was Mack and totally explained the problem and stuck around to make sure all was well. Really great job and prompt service. Thanks guys.

-Problem: Leaking pipe (under house) and water heater.
-Plumber one: (RR) Came to house, and with very little inspection (less than five minutes), said well, you need to change whole plumbing system. He didn't even go under the house!!
-Plumber two Daniel's: Dispatcher Ashley was professional and  friendly. Plumber Larry arrived within time frame given, call was placed ahead of time giving us time to get ready. Larry arrived to our house, and patiently listened to us, inspected pipe and explained to us what he was going to do, no hassle!
Leak caused another problem. We called back and same plumber was sent back, which made things easier and efficient. Again, Larry explained problem and options to us. He was polite, professional and direct at all times.
Very satisfied customers

I had a water leaking in my garage last Thursday and had called a different plumbing to come out to fix it.  They cam out last Friday and then again on Monday. They said they need to cut through my foundation to fix the leak. So they were going to set up for a sub contractor to cut through my foundation a week later still have not heard from them.  I saw the great reviews about Daniels plumbing and decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did.  They came out today and fixed the water leak within hours and did not have to cut through my foundation.  I am so happy to have water again. I will definitely be using Daniel's plumbing again.  Thank you!

Called Daniel's Plumbing based on their excellent Yelp reviews. Scheduling was super easy, and I was shocked at how quickly the receptionist (who is so nice!) was able to get me in. I received both a phone call and a text message letting me know Travis, the technician, was on the way, and I can't tell you what peace of mind it gave me not only knowing the name of but also getting a photo of the tech showing up at my house in advance. Talk about feeling safe! Travis was kind, considerate, and didn't talk to down to me. He explained the job and price in advance and took the time to answer all my questions. He worked quickly, efficiently, and cleaned up after the job. You wouldn't even know he was there! This was my first plumbing job out of warranty, so I can't compare prices to other plumbers, but if all of Daniel's Plumbing staff is at courteous and professional as Travis and the receptionist (sorry, I missed your name!), I will use their services every time and recommend to all my friends.

Holy cow I wish I'd found this company months ago!   Buying a duplex that needed a TON of work done, I've been dealing with all sorts of contractors, handymen, plumbers, You name it. It's always a HUGE pain finding someone who will show up and do good work and not try to rip you off. When our tenants called and said a faucet burst, I was expecting a nightmare. However, I called Daniel's, and they sent Jim over within minutes. It was close to closing time, but he showed up quickly and professionally, gave me a very reasonable quote, and got to work. Everything was said and done within an hour and it actually ended up costing me less than quoted.  He was super nice and informative as he worked. I'm so relieved to have found these guys. Highly recommend.

Jeff was wonderful! He came out on time, was very professional and explained everything in a way that normal everyday people can understand. There are plenty of other company's that could have just sold me a new system, but Jeff was very honest and I knew I could trust him. He gave me upfront pricing and even worked extra hard to get us approved for more money for financing on our new A/C system. The install looked fantastic! Will definitely recommend this company to everyone and use them again for all HVAC and plumbing needs. Keep up the good work guys!

I have used several plumbers though the years, and my experience has been hit or miss, mostly miss.  As I was waiting a firm I had used in the past to call me back, I decided to reach out to Daniel's based on a web search. I was immediately taken by the cheerful and competent can do staff.  They were courteous, professional, and on top of things. I had a plumber show-up that day for a septic backing-up situation.  As you can imagine, the situation was urgent.  The plumber's name was Mike.  Like the phone staff, Mike was outgoing and friendly, but most of all he knew what he was doing. It didn't take him long before he located the problem and fixed it on the spot.  Going forward, I will be calling Daniel's Plumbing for my plumbing needs and I have 5 properties.  JD

I like the way Daniel's Plumbing operates. The back and forth via text is very convenient. Any phone calls I had were pleasant. The scheduling was quick, and though they pushed the arrival window a bit, it was well worth Frank's knowledge and patience with my incessant questioning.

The plumbing contractor for my house used improper connections that started to corrode the line for my tankless water heater.  The team from Daniel's Plumbing was able to come out by the next business day to get me a quote, which was a very fair price.. especially given the outstanding service.  Once I decided to move forward with the work they were back out a day later and took care of the job in a matter of hours.  It is a huge relief as a homeowner to be able to get somebody out quickly (other plumbers couldn't come out for at least a week, usually several weeks) and the peace of mind is priceless knowing the work is under warranty.  Thanks to Daniel's Plumbing for being awesome!!

Outstanding job by Jim replacing our water heater. Best quote, same day service, and the job done right. The piping work was first class as Jim put in new connections on the gas and water lines for ease of repair if needed down the road. Jim was friendly and courteous as well as very knowledgeable in answering all of my questions and concerns. I will be using Daniels Plumbing again when needed.

Pretty sure this is a scam. I needed a plumber within the week so I agreed to the $59 charge for them to come out and quote me (they waive it if you accept), but first I read reviews on their Yelp page saying that they were reasonably priced so I wasn't worried.  I had two toilets and just the bottom of a porcelain pedestal that needed to be put back on.  They weren't brand new, they weren't broke they just were removed to have wood flooring put in.  I received two other quotes from plumbers for $350 and $375, so I assumed they would be in that ballpark.  They quoted me for $800!!! I told them about my other quotes and even showed them the quote, and they only came down $50!!! If this isn't a scam I don't know what is.  DO NOT USE, wasted $59 on nothing but an insulting quote.  My husband ended up putting them back on and only spending $50. I'm considering contacting better business bureau.

I was having a few problems with my bathroom sink and shower.  I googled Plumbers in Austin and found a link to plumbers ranked in order of customer reviews.  Daniel's Plumbing was sitting at the top of the list with the best overall reviews, so I called them.  Ashley was the first person I spoke with, and she was great!  She showed genuine concern with my issues and worked with me to get a plumber out ASAP.  It wasn't an emergency, so I made an appointment for the next day.  Mac was the plumber who got the call.  I can't say enough good things about this guy!  He was on time, very personable and friendly, and extremely knowledgeable.  We had to coordinate a water shutoff with the property manager of the complex I live in, so we had to schedule a second appointment.  Again, Mac was on time and ready to go when the water was turned off.  He got the work done quickly, and he and I joked together while he was here, which I really appreciated.  Once he was done, he cleaned up after himself and said he'd be happy to come back if something went wrong after-the-fact.  I HAPPILY give Daniel's a 5-star rating, and would give Mac himself a 10-star rating if I could!  I feel like I actually made a new friend!  I will never have to search for another plumber with any future issues - Daniel's is it for me!

Daniel's Plumbing just replaced our ancient sewer line. It was a pleasure dealing such with smart, responsible, hard-working people. They even managed to save our large Crape Myrtle trees (which the former home owner planted directly over the sewer line). Excellent clean-up after the job was completed. We will call them for all our future plumbing needs!

Avoid this plumber if you like your money. The negative reviews are accurate. Daniel's charges a $225 dollar diagnostic fee NO MATTER WHAT, which means to have the plumber come to the house, you will pay $225 (and they will aggressively enforce this fee). But, that's not where it ends. They then quote outrageous prices and do not apply the diagnostic fee to the work. To have our water heater flushed and the control panel swapped out, which is about 30 minutes worth of labor, they wanted $700: $225 for the diagnostic fee (which took 45 minutes), $200 to flush the system (I did it myself in about 20 minutes after watching a YouTube video), and $300 for a control panel (I bought the panel for $125 and replaced it in under 5 minutes). Of course, they already have you when they show up because you're on the hook for $225. We did not have them do the work but the plumber forcefully insisted on making us pay the $225 (my wife was shaken by the confrontation). We paid the fee and did not have the work done, but we will never use these folks again.

I can only speak to the poor experience that I had with Daniel's Plumbing earlier this week. I contacted them when a Noritz tankless hot water heater at my house stopped heating water and gave an error code that identified the problem was the ignition. Noritz's online recommendations related to this error code states that your unit is not firing up to heat the water, a situation that can be caused by insufficient gas supply, insufficient airflow or debris on the ignition plug. The first words out of the Daniel's Plumbing service technician when he arrived were I'm not familiar with Noritz tankless hot water heaters. Truer words have never been spoken. He spent less than then 5 minutes diagnosing the problem. He took off the cover plate of the hot water heater and stared at the inside of it for literally less than a minute (and didn't even touch it). He never researched the error code, examined the gas manifold or ignition plug and didn't even bring a manometer to check the gas pressure. After that one minute, he proclaimed you need a new hot water heater. It is fair to say that the technician did a poor job of even faking he inspected or earnestly examined the hot water heater. He then said the only tankless hot water heater that he and Daniel's Plumbing would recommend installing is a Rinnai brand. I asked him for a price quote and he provided an outrageous price of $4500 for a 199,000 BTU Rinnai propane tankless hot water heater. I asked him how that broke down between labor and material and he said he wouldn't disclose that. I said no thank you to the proposal and I asked him how much I owed him. He said that I owed $225 for a diagnostic charge. This is after he didn't touch a single part or component of the hot water heater. I asked him what was the specific diagnosis. With a smart aleck smirk, he said you need a new hot water heater. 20 minutes later, I called another plumber to quote the exact same work (furnishing and installing a new Rinnai 199,000 BTU Rinnai propane tankless hot water heater with all new fittings) and they were at my house within 2 hours. Their price was $2350 but here's the kicker...they said that I didn't even need a new hot water heater and that the ignition plug just needed to be cleaned. The technician with the new plumbing company, who clearly was conscientious and competent, said it was impossible for the Daniel's plumber to have diagnosed the problem without at a minimum having researched the error code, examined the gas manifold and ignition plug and said they certainly never should have showed up without a manometer. He said the previous plumber's failure to take any of these required step, made the diagnostics impossible). Since I told Daniel's Plumbing's dispatcher that the problem was due to a lack of ignition of the propane gas, Daniel's failure to show up with a manometer was inexcusable. The new plumber said that at a minimum I should dispute the credit card charge from Daniel's because I was clearly scammed and/or report Daniel's Plumbing to the Better Business Bureau The plumber that fixed the problem (in less than 15 minutes) didn't know what the exact charge their office would bill me but he estimated it would be $200. I received their bill yesterday and it was only $60. When I called their office to ask them if they mistakenly under-billed me; their bookkeeper said it wasn't a mistake and the reason that it was such a low price is that their technician told them how I had gotten ripped off by the original plumbing company (Daniel's) and they felt bad about it and wanted to help me. The bottom line is I paid one reputable plumbing company only $60 (which I anticipated would be $200) to actually fix the hot water heater and paid Daniel's Plumbing $225 to try to BS me into paying them twice what a new hot water heater should cost (when I didn't even need a new hot water heater to begin with). As I look at the many positive reviews that Daniels' Plumbing has received on Yelp, I can't help but think that many are not legitimate third-party reviews or that every other technician they have is infinitely more competent (and not as commission incentivized as the one that showed up at my house).

I called three plumbers this morning for an emergency repair. Only Daniels Plumbing called me back (very promptly!) The two gentlemen who came out were on time, polite, and professional. The job was completed in half the time I expected and at a reasonable cost (which was provided up front). They left my house cleaner than when they arrived. Highly highly recommended for plumbing in Houston!

I've hired Daniels Plumbing now for multiple projects in my house. Jim is super friendly, professional and commits to a superior level of quality and service. Water heater plus several knobs and pipes, garage disposal, p trap installation, and unclogging a drain pipe that i thought would be impossible. Their warranties are also a nice touch and give me peace of mind. Will be hiring them again soon!

Daniel was great. Nice guy, it doesn't seem like you have a plumber in the house. It's more like a buddy helping with the project. Very conscious of your home unlike any of the other plumbers in the Brazos Valley. Also, he charges by the job and was upfront with all the costs that could be incurred, not by the hour or any other type of hidden charges that other plumbers use. I will be using him again if anything goes wrong.

Daniel has done some minor and major work at my residence.  I recently experienced a hot water heater failure in my attic that caused a leak down to the first floor.  Daniel was out within an hour or so and his crew took care of a large problem.  He also repaired a shower head drip that another plumbing organization told me I needed to replace the entire mechanism and require cutting into my drywall and have repairs and repainting.  Daniel was able to address the issue without all the drywall work.  On top of all this comments, he normally calls you back within minutes when his company is called.  Very professional!

I would highly recommend Daniel's plumbing!! We had a very unpleasant find Saturday morning of an underground leak in our front lawn off the main water line. As relatively new homeowners with no prior plumbing issues, I had no idea who to call and what to expect. After a few other companies didn't answer, I remembered the name from a few weeks ago in the neighborhood. Thank goodness! The phone was answered promptly and the girls in the front were so kind and understanding. They figured out a way for us to be seen that day, despite being booked. Mack was our plumber, who arrived within 10 minutes of getting a call he was on the way. He was upfront about the price, gave us several options and worked with us as much as he could. He found the problem very quickly. Although he wasn't able to fix the problem that day, they got us scheduled for first thing Monday morning and communicated to the oncoming plumber Alec (who was kind and polite as well) the issue. I'm so thankful for everyone who helped us and put us at ease during such a stressful situation.

After finding a leak between my brick outer wall and foundation, a family friend recommended I can Daniels Plumbing. They had been using them for years both at home and at their company and, although more pricey, could not recommend them enough. I scheduled an appointment online that day (on a Sunday) and got an email from them before 9am on Monday. I was impressed with the receptionist's courtesy and was quickly scheduled in. Our technician was Mac and he came on time and was very friendly and helpful. He always talked through what he was looking for, what he saw, and the possible next steps. His first guess was a foundation leak, but he was still very thorough to check the nearby exterior spigot pipe for leaks. He very clearly explained the foundation leak evaluation options and process, and was also very open that he was not the most experienced with foundation leaks and would rather have another technician do the leak detection. He called for another technician to come, but still waited around explaining that he wanted to watch the other technician to learn the process better. This really impressed me because I know Daniel's could have dispatched Mac to another job, but to allow two technicians do the job so one could learn is clearly a more professional decision. While Mac was waiting for the foundation evaluator to arrive, he continued to inspect the nearby pipes and found a nail driven into a pipe! This was a life saver and was the difference from them repairing a pipe and breaking into my slab! I cannot express my appreciation enough for how thorough Mac was because it turned a days long, very expensive job into a simple two hour job. Daniel's Plumbing could have simply called it a foundation issue and rerouted the pipes, but they did the right thing and found the real issue. I will surely be calling Daniel's again and will start recommending them to anybody I can! Thanks guys!
