ABC predominantly has a strong Customer Service focus. Their prices are competitive, they try to use products that are safe for humans and animals, their techs are great at communicating appointments, approximate arrival time, job completion and relaying information about issues the customer may want to consider. Their website is easy to navigate once you register, you can download pdfs of previous month(s) bills, pay online, send messages.
***** Pest Control
This is the first department I hired with ABC. I needed serious help keeping fire ants under control in my yard, and found consumer-grade products weren't sufficient. I've had a contract with them for this service for about 5 years and only had to call requesting revisits for something missed 4-5 times in those 5 years. They've always been very quick to respond to these requests for revisits. As mentioned above, their techs communicate everything in a timely fashion, they're also professional, courteous and thorough. Gotta love great Customer Service! I also love that I don't have to be present for them to do their job well. WTG Pest Control Department!
***** Irrigation
I've only called ABC for help with my irrigation system once because I didn't know they had an Irrigation department. I wish I had known earlier, it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration with others!
I called them in 2021 after Central Texas' February Snowmageddon, to make sure I wasn't going to have water fountains all over my yard when irrigation season began. The guy they sent out did a thorough inspection, found a couple of irrigation heads previous companies had missed and talked to me about how to find the lost irrigation cut-off in the yard, so I don't have to shut off water at the water main when my 20+ year old irrigation system sometimes develops a leak.
The cost for the repairs was competitive with other companies I've used. I really appreciated them not trying to upsale me to an entirely new irrigation system like one of the companies I used to use. Their tech communicated in a timely manner, was professional, friendly, thorough. They earned my return business.
***** Lawn Fertilization
I called this department after Snowmageddon 2021 to help my lawn quickly recover from the unseasonably cold weather it had endured. The tech they sent out walked the lawn and put together a thorough proposal that included an option for a twice annually contract to service the lawn in spring and fall each year. My lawn's well established, so I didn't opt for the contract, only the one service that essentially provided nutrients to feed the grass. He also gave me suggestions to how to inexpensively aerate my clay-heavy soil to help my St. Augustine thrive. The yard and trees both loved the treatment ABC gave them.
** Lawn Cleanup
Since I'd had such great experiences with ABC, last year I decided to try them for lawn maintenance. Unfortunately, my experience with this department was disappointing.
While they did a great job communicating about appointments, arrival and completion, I was unable to get their lawn team to mow my St. Augustine at the 4 needed for it to be healthy. After 3-4 visits every other week, and more than a few attempts to address the cut height via phone call, texts, attempting to communicate with the lawn care team in person, I gave up, and cancelled the contract before my lawn got damaged from the Texas heat.
For those who aren't particularly concerned about lawn height, ABC's prices are very competitive.
***** Electrical
I've only hired ABC once for electrical issues. I needed ballasts and bulbs replaced in an overhead fixture, I wanted a few light switches swapped out for dimmer switches, I was having problems with the garage lights and I was having some issues with a couple grounded outlets in the kitchen.
As usual, the guy they sent out was professional, efficient, and communicated in a timely manner about appointment, arrival time, and resolutions.
The electrician thoroughly checked the fuse box and the house, and spent quite a bit of time educating me about what was causing the problems in my house (hidden grounded outlet was flipped, sensors on garage lights worn out) and provided information on how to address similar issues in the future. I know basically nothing about electrical systems, except to avoid them and call a professional, so the time and education was appreciated, though I'll still call them if I have issues beyond flipping a switch in the fuse box or changing a light bulb.
Overall, I'm really satisfied with ABC's commitment to Customer Service, their competitive pricing, their honesty in business transactions. I always try to find local businesses that have sound ethical practices to do business with and ABC is one company I'll continue to use often.
