Good company to grow and advance my skills in the industry. Great place for growth. Blessings on blessings
Rodney and Allen came out to my home to replace the pluming in the back of 2 toilets. They were extremally friendly, professional, and quick! I would highly recommend these 2 for whatever plumbing needs you are having.
We cannot say enough positive things about the business Elmer conducts. I am not paid nor did I receive any discount or privileges for this review. While we do not know everything about HVAC hubby does work in the electrical and telecommunications industries. We can say without a doubt that the technical evaluation of my (young) 7 year old system was spot on. Homeowners should understand that big home builders cut costs where inspections lack. With that said it is possible that a new system is inadequate for the space it provides for. Joseph Munera did make recommendations outside of our initial requests however it was an honest evaluation with severity identified. We have taken them up on ALL repairs and upgrades they recommended as we also understand the harsh heat of summer can also reduce the lifespan of units. The manners this technician had were stellar and rarely seen in the work force today. I thank Elmer and his company for providing such a respectable technician and a lasting experience. As far as my family and I are concerned; there is no better AC and heating company in the San Antonio Area.

Elmers is a place you call when you want salesmen not hvac experts. They make a very convincing and well backed argument on why you need a whole new $37,000 system when you called for a clogged pipe. They use many sales and manipulation tactics in a positive and seemingly educated light making you think that you need their services.
They use every psychological tactic such as going through emotional ideas (why the van is pink, make you watch a three minute video about a tragedy),
highlight all the flaws of your system, stating that the other completion would ignore them and charge me more.
Also hinting that other competition would ignore the flaws and my safety would be compromised. They use exclusivity saying that they are the only service that is as thorough as them and no where else will offer that.
They use fear and uncertainty to sway you into make the certain choice of getting their ridiculously expensive and unaffordable services.
They make sure to overload you with information and overwhelm you with problems so you have something to fall back on.
In the span of a week, I had two different elemers employees out at my house , and they were saying inconsistent problems.
The technicians were also not too experienced with hvac. The first guy was doing this for 5 years (that's fair) but the senior technician was less than 7 years experiencein hvac. Not sure if that's normal, It just seemed sketchy?
They kept pushing me to make a decision and hinting that I needed to make a decision before they left my house.
There were many many red flags of this company but I kept ignoring them in good faith. I have never been gas lit like this before lol.
I had a family owned company come out and fix the problem in less than an hour. They checked everything and cleaned and maintained my system for a way less money and never tried to sell me on anything. (The people that worked on my system had over 18 years of experience) They said that places like Elmer's is great for their business so I guess that's something to laugh at!
This company will hustle you out of your money with a smile on their face!
Update: I called them to ~respectfully~ complain and they said the manager would call me back and I never got a call back. I also saw posts of people getting bribed with steakhouse gift cards to take their bad review down LOL little do they know I'm a vegan ! #slay
I called for an A/C drain line to be cleared which I couldn't clear myself. This service was timely and with good service. At this visit however, a follow up was recommended to discuss further more progressive options. A date and time was set then for Elmer's to automatically return to further discuss.
They did not return. The appointment they set was a no call/no show.
Further, no contact by Elmer's was made to me until 9 days later when they asked if I was ready for someone to come by and do the repairs. I did not return these voicemails due to a missed appointment by them with no contact. But surprise, next day, without my confirmation, they show up to discuss the options which they were scheduled to present 10 days earlier. I declined the additional service and will seek a company who keeps appointments, not one who misses an appointment and makes unannounced drops as if the missed appointment 10 days earlier never happened.

I got a new a/c unit. I spent a lot of money. Oh don't get me wrong it works very well. I am just surprised that no one has ever called me from Elmers to see if I have been happy or not with my unit or service. They pride themselves on customer service. Well with this customer they failed and therefore I will not ever recommend them to anyone. I have had the unit for about 2-3 months now.

2 Stars for showing up at the time they said between 9:30-10am. Polite and then the rudeness starts when I'm told I need a new unite outside right away without even doing any kind of testing. I asked just to check unit and what it may need just to get it to run. He did check the system and still tells me I need a completely new system. Ok how much? Boom estimate was at $9000.00. Or out of three options which were still in the thousands lowest was 4-5 thousand. I declined the offers. Says I can finance it. I'm game lets see what banks they use well not very good ones Ally and goodleap. Ally is ok I guess but Goodleap is terrible they are involved with companies that declared bankruptcy and are being sued. My credit isn't bad just thin cause of recent truck purchase and new line of credit plus hard pulls. So I get declined from both. My wife did hers she has no credit, right away approved for 25k from Goodleap the 9,000 we need would be over $280 a month for 16 years! Someone with no credit should not be given that much. We declined as well of course. After that he asks well how much do you have in savings? What the ever lasting hell? Who asks that from people you don't know? He then talks to a manager who doesn't get why I don't take the loan. Who would if you knew financial stuff like this. When no deal was made he became offended and just took off saying very child like remarks like oh you know everything about credit and finance while guy(Lorenzo) is on the phone and you gonna let your wife suffer the heat? And the best remark when he was leaving I work to hard to live in heat! He left so quick he forgot his tool bag I had to call the company and let them know. He came back for the bag. Be very careful with the financing with them. Found another company and they gave a much lower estimate with in house financing at low low apr with well know bank. Shop around folks.

If I could give this company zero stars I would . They are rude and cancelled on me 3 days in a row stating that there were more important calls and they couldn't guarantee that they would ever be able to come out.
Horrible customer service who just passed around the phone call when I wanted to voice my frustration.
The commercials that say doing the rebates right because it's the right thing to do is a JOKE !
Called to have A/C checked since it wasn't cooling. Let them know it was under warranty. Was told the tech would call to set up an appt for the next morning for a free diagnostic. That didn't happen. In fact, I wasn't contacted until the next afternoon, but I missed the call. When I returned the call, the dispatcher couldn't reach the tech and assured me he would call me back. A different person called me back later and they were not the tech, they were more of a sales person who asked the same questions I answered when I first called. Only this time apparently when you have a unit that's only 5 yrs old, they want to do a complete top to bottom look at everything including the ducts in the attic. I stopped him and asked if I'm supposed to pay for all that. He then told me it's all covered under their $59.99 service call fee that I was told about. Of course I was never told that and of course a fairly new unit doesn't need all that invasive colonoscopy-like look. That's when I ended the call. I did have a reputable repair person come out today for free and all I need is a new thermostat.

Current unit has been working great for years with few issues, all I requested was a check up and to clean the condenser coils to improve the airflow. They were more focused on trying to sell me on getting new equipment than on my orig request to service my existing unit which still works great. The tech said he didn't recommend cleaning the coils instead wants a senior tech to come out to sell me a new AC. When the tech finished up he put the plastic mesh filter cover under the filter instead of over it, causing the filter to bend upward with the airflow - increasing the accumulation on the coils and likely more urgent need for service calls if I hadnt gone back and checked it (intentional? He said he has been a tech for 5 years). Also noticed more bent fins on the outside unit. The $59.95 service charge was well spent to know I should look elsewhere
9/12/22 Update to the cut/paste response from GM - No. after looking at all the many other terrible reviews for this company I do not trust they have customers' interests in mind. will need to find another AC company to go back and check that nothing else was messed up during the visit.
Our heating was acting up in our rental and we reached out to various companies to get assessments before having someone come out. Elmers could get to us quickest so we went with them and have zero regrets. Our tech Nick explained what exactly went wrong and what the repair was. Hopefully we never have to use their services again, but we will deff try to use them again if needed in the future.
Don't count on this company in case of an emergency. They will only cancel your booked appointment for people that get their service plan. I booked them to come out due to a heating outage as a result of the recent 17 degree weather. They said they would be able to come out first thing the next morning. I get a call the next morning saying that they would have to push the appointment to the following Tuesday. They gave an excuse that their call volume has increased. This makes no sense because an increase in call volume today has nothing to do with an appointment that I booked yesterday. The only logical explanation is that if you don't purchase their service plan, you are just pushed aside for people that do, despite having an appointment. I won't be purchasing any service plans with Elmers or using their services again.
Don't use them, they aren't honest. The are instructed to use certain nefarious tactics. First they will try to act chummy chummy to gain your trust. Then they will inspect your AC which involves damaging it in some way. Then they will gaslight you into hiring them. Beware!!

This company is GARBAGE lead by a GARBAGE human being. I wish there were a way to give negative stars. This is a very long story, but Yelp won't let me post-it in its entirety. So, short version. They LIED to us, GASLIT us and WILLINGLY AND KNOWINGLY left us without hot water FOR 6 (S I X) months. I am a disabled Veteran and they found every way possible to to screw us over for 6 months. Avoid this company LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! At the end of it all they left me with appliance PTSD, exacerbated back problems, and a burning ulcer. I spent 4 months being screwed around by them, having them attempt to make us pay for warranty work that they didn't do, missed a total of 2 weeks of work (over the course of the 6 months) waiting for techs that only called to say that they wouldn't be there 4 times out of that 2 weeks. I'm not perfect, but I DID hold it together & only went off on them 1 time in the first 4 months and only 2 times. more in the last 2 months. They sent out techs who ACTUALLY SAID Yeah, they only send us to the difficult customers. That's a direct quote. Apparently, I was difficult because I wanted them to do their job & get our hot water back?!? We spent 6 months schlepping pot after pot of lukewarm water from the kitchen to the bathroom just to take a little wipedown bath. My child had to go to school feeling nasty more often than not because friends and family can only allow us to bathe at their place so many times. They made us pay for an electrician to prove that the problem wasn't electrical, only to whine about the fact that it wasn't electrical and I had to miss YET ANOTHER day of work so they could send their own electrician (because they didn't believe the the PHYSICAL PROOF I SENT THEM) Who agreed wholeheartedly with the electrician THEY MADE.ME PAY FOR AND REFUSED TO REIMBURSE FOR). This jerk is CHEAP!!! His ridiculous commercials make me physically ill.
I scheduled a tune up for two of my rental propertie. nothing wrong, just wanted to get preventative maintenance done while they were vacant. bc they were running Elmer's scheduled them 3 weeks out, understandable. Day of, on both properties I got a call they had to be rescheduled for another day, twice. the second reschedule I said don't even bother. that's 4Xs this company couldn't get their schedule together. On time, umm no!

Do not use them. I have a brand new system from them and have had numerous visits to fix within the first two years. I always tell them what is wrong and they give me an excuse, and then after the 2nd or 3rd visit about the problem, they figure it out. All while the cost of visits are being charged to you. I make an appointment and they don't show up. Forget these guys.
The service tech came out to check our no heat problem and started bad mouthing the brand of A.C unit (RUDD).Said the unit was low on freon as to why heat pump would not work, not worth fixing.Quoted a new at 5000 maybe a little more.Got back home from work wife said it was 6500. They installed unit next day and when I looked it up on line it could be ordered and delivered for 2493.00 out of Houston where they are made.It was the companies lowest model unit. These people are a ripoff!!
On Time Elmers is a joke! Did not follow up while I waited since 5 am for call back. I called in afternoon and claimed they never got my chat message and wanted me to pay $129 instead of $59. They found my chat and called me back to schedule for today. I got a message that they can't make because I did not have a ladder which I did but why should I have to provide a ladder. Spoke to GM and he claimed since AC is on roof they have to send commercial team even though they already knew the location when I set appointment. They need to change the name to No Show Elmer's. Entire process was a joke and the absolute worse company I have ever dealt with. Do not call this company to try and help, they are worthless and just gave excuses and run around. Waste of time. I could have simply called someone else had they been upfront.
DON'T USE THEIR WEBSITE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT! They won't honor it. I went to their website and used the very prominent chat client that pops up and overwhelms the screen. The woman identified herself and took all my relevant information, then confirmed me appointment and sent a confirmation text. (My central air went out during a 100+ per day heat wave.) On the morning they were to arrive, they called me and told me they weren't honoring web appointments and that I was going to the back of the line. Scheduler was indifferent, even after admitting it was their screw up. The appointment was made during the week, and had a couple days wait. They pushed me back five more days. It was 105 today, 4 days after my scheduled appointment. My email to the business manager was ignored. On time Elmer--what a joke.
I wish I had read these reviews before I believe the hype on the radio ads. Elmer's does not care about customer service and way overpriced. Had an appointment on Saturday to have a mini split installed. The guy did not show up on time, and then said he can just do an estimate and install wouldn't be till Tuesday. Tuesday, half the crew shows up (the helper) who had to wait a couple hours for his leader to arrive. They spent all afternoon installing 8 short pieces of 2x4 and left by 4pm saying they would be back at 9am the next morning to install. It's almost noon on Wednesday and 3 calls to the office asking for a manager to call have yet to be returned by anyone. They clearly have enough other customers to fleece that they really don't care about servicing customers. Their maintenance plan is a joke. I don't like this gave me any priority service. It just feels like a bait and switch tactic.
My aircondtioning was leaking water. They sent out a technician who looked at the unite and showed me pictures of a frozen up coil due to no freon in my closed system. He could not repair it. He wrote up and estimate from bandaid fix to replacing the coil. All in thousands of dollars. he was not equipped to repair it and in a couple of days the repairman would come to braise the coil and look for leaks. No warranty!! He also said a maintenance program was required and they would come service the unit(s) twice a year0 . He asked me to sign a document that said they had completed the repair and it had yet been done. He collected in the excess of 2000 for the coil repair and maintenace program. This was Logan
The repair crew came, they knew nothing about the coil, they found a leak by the king valves and replaced them. No coil braising etc.
My second unit, a minisplit , was serviced by the technician for the warranty plan. he said the fins were dirty and needed to be cleaned but he only was paid 35.00 and was not going to do the work for that amount.
That same technician then performed maintanance on my HVAC unit. he tells me the coil is frozen over, the freon is gone, the unit is in need of major repair and presents me with three options, one bandaid around 1000 a second repair and the third for near new unit at 3600 plus. I wrote the company of the above and asked to terminate my maintenance contract on two units which had and inspection and to refund me for 1/2 the contract on both those units and 100% of the unused contract on the other unit. I also asked them to address the above. They did not respond and kept my 2000+ dollar.
Truly their maintenance' is a ruse to present thousands of dollars on needed repair. BEWARE, STAY AWAY, REPORT!!!!
AND I am a veteran and this is their service

Logan did a fantastic job he arrived on time kept the house clean and was done very quickly. Was very informative about the work done and what needed done hope to have him in the future
Do not use this company and do not believe the radio and TV ads! I have given this company all my business until recently because I trusted their services, workmanship and pricing. In mid June 2021 I received a $1,000 quote for replacing one 12 foot duct run. The second I told the Tech I wanted to get other quotes because that sounded high, he reduced it to $900. I said No and would rather get other quotes to compare. They then asked, well how much do you want to pay?
The following day I received three quotes all over the phone to give me a ballpark price. All three quotes were between $350 - $500. In the end, I paid $400 for the same duct that Elmers quoted $1,000.
I will never use this company again and I now question how many other people they have have over charged in years past, including myself.
Be warned. Do not believe the TV and radio ads, and at the very least get multiple quotes.

I wish I had read these reviews before we scheduled their $59 special. Wanted to believe Elmers company was honest like he says on the TV ads. Elmer's does not care about helping customers and only offer overpriced repair services. Beware, this company uses unethical technicians and sales guys that use dishonest tactics. Use fear and manipulation to try and pressure you into paying for a whole new system. They went to my 80 year old parents to troubleshoot a fan noise on their working AC system for the $59 dollar special. They took lots of pictures of what they said were other serious issues that needed repair. Then a sales guy shows up and went on to explain all the company's background and lots of sales pitches of how great the company is and how honest they are etc... etc... taking soo long all the while we are sitting in a hot house because they had turned off the working system for the troubleshooting. I felt like we were being tortured with heat and all the BS this guy was saying. I asked them to turn on our system and they said they had not connected it back since it was having issues. I insisted if we were going to be forced to a long sales pitch. So they said they plugged back all connections. One technician went outside while one stayed with the sales guy. In the end when we did not pick their most expensive fixes of total AC replacement $36K , or to fixing the old system with all the issues they found $5K , they proceeded to have a bandaid fix for the original issue we called them for $540. My parents needed the AC fixed so they choose the band aid, only to be told the part had to be ordered and it would take 7 days. They also proceeded to strongly advise against us using the previous working system until they came back to fix the noisy blower fan. Shortly after they left my parents system completely stopped working. We strongly believe the guy who went outside did something to it to force my elderly parents to replace the whole system. We cancelled the repair that very night and made sure we reported them to our credit card to stop payment. We had to call another company in the morning and they were able to fix the noisy blower fan for under $250 within an hour and were able to get our air compressor back up. Elmers company is despicable!!
Still waiting for a call back from a Service Manager and General Manager for an in warranty repair. After they made the sale of a new unit now they don't want to do the repairs. We have been without AC for 9 days now as we are ignored and calls are not returned. We are told the service manager will call within 2 hours and here we are another week and no response at all! Horrible customer service, BBB Suspended this companies account, that should tell you all you need to know. I am extremely disappointed in how unprofessional this company is run. On time Elmer's is a joke. Still waiting for our AC unit to be repaired we bought it only 2 years ago and the coils are leaking and we get no response at all from the company.
I have been trying to get a quote for over a week now with no success. I had Elmer's out to inspect our ac, ducts and attic area. They came highly recommended by a family member and I was ready to give them my business. They came out and after going over what they found with my husband and I, my husband stated he had to jump on a call for work. The gentlemen said he'd want to set up another time to come back and discuss the options with both of us. My husband stated to simply give me the information and I would relay the details to him. For some reason the gentlemen insisted he come back and we set up ANOTHER time to come back. I simply did this to appease him. It is very hard to schedule something that works for both of us. And I have just as much pull in making the decisions regarding financial decisions for the home. I have called 5 times telling them to simply send me a quote for the middle of the line option, each time they state they will send me a quote. No quote yet and will definitely not be doing any business with them. Very disappointed that they are holding a quote hostage simply for the opportunity to upsell me.

Jason came out to give an estimate to repair our furnace. He gave a band-aid option vs replacement. We informed him we would be getting one more quote but would let him know. Next company came out and immediately we realized that Jason had left the entire furnace pulled apart, had cut the wires in our circuit board, had cut wires to the thermostat control and cut the wires to our safety switch. Not only could the furnace not be used but neither could the AC until either we paid to re-wire the components or had to replace the entire unit. We called and left messages for his supervisor Jacob, but he never called us back. Be very careful if you call this company out. Do NOT leave them unattended around your equipment or make sure to take before pictures and inspect the area carefully before you leave them drive away.
Trying to sell you a maintenance package from1500.00 to 5k instead of telling you this is the problem and this is what it cost to fix. I called air tron and they fixed the problem for 431.00 Thank Goodness fir AirTron
DONT GET ROBBED
Had Elmers come out for the system check the tech really pushed a new unit, said mine was in super bad shape. Need freon that wasn't carried anymore, compressors were bad etc., said it would be over $700 Get it up to par, and could literally go any day.
Any day turned out to be that afternoon because after he went up and checked everything he reversed the wiring which made my AC system stopped working. I know this to be a fact because I had another AC tech that I've used for years come out and said someone switched and reverse your wiring. Once he got everything wired correctly, he went and checked my unit and said I had plenty of Freon my compressors are running fine and the unit was good to go.
I called Elmers and told him that I didn't want anymore people coming out to my house, Because they were supposed to be coming out and giving me a quote for a new unit, I spoke with a young lady who said she would pass it up to her supervisor and never did, then I had someone else call me and verify my appointment, which I told them I didn't want explained why. He was sympathetic and sorry and ask What they could do to make it right. I told him nothing that lost a customer for life, and if you value your hard-earned dollar you shouldn't use this company

A story regarding a simple water leak in the kitchen. Water bubbled up in area in front of the sink and dishwasher. Elmer sent a plumber who rang the doorbell, listened to my description of water on the floor, then retreated to his truck for a phone consultation with his boss. He returned to my porch and quoted a price near $900 to continue with leak detection services. I declined his offer and called Elmers. The service manager said the price was justified because the leak could be caused by a cold water pipe, or a hot water pipe, or caused by a leak in the concrete foundation. True enough. But it could have been caused by tunneling burglars or an earthquake, but it wasn't. I said I didn't think I should have to pay the $59 service fee, since the plumber never entered the kitchen to take a look at the wet floor. The manager explained that the service fee was for showing up, but looking at the kitchen was leak detection and he wouldn't do that until I agreed to the nearly $1000 starting charge. I protested, pointing out that the only property of mine touched by his employee was my doorbell and my credit card. Anyway, my wife wiggled the dishwasher out and we saw a corroded copper pipe spraying a nice little stream. Eventually cost about $185 to have repaired.
