We had a stoppage in one of our pipes that restricted us from using any water in the house (the wife was really upset). I called Pynn and Sons. Whomever I spoke to was exceptional. She immediately advised she would direct someone to our house asap. I was surprised to see someone at our door an hour later (I figured best case scenario late afternoon). The gentlemen that came was professional and polite. He figured out the issue quickly and rectified it. I just got my bill yesterday. To say it was fair might be an understatement. I used Yelp's Request a Quote feature and they came out and quoted a job to run hot & cold water, a drain line, and two gas lines up to my kitchen to hook up a washer & dryer as well as a new stove.

The estimate was done in a timely manner and was professional. I do like that the owner gave me the estimate right away on the spot and seemed to know the cost of materials.

I appreciated the timely manner of the estimate and the professionalism, I always do at least 3-4 estimates before scheduling any job, so it'll remain to be seen whether I go with Bright Star, but I always live by the rule to get at least a few estimates for any job over $500.

EDIT: I did find their quote to be on the higher side after getting a comparing estimate, but it could have just been this particular job.

My go-to plumbing HVAC company-  repair/maintain ( have to flush periodically)  instant on water navien systems- plumbing - always satisfied- timely and reasonable and done right- the first time

Worst business practices I have ever heard of. Requires a credit card number before they come out. Will not give estimate on repair, will charge your credit card when completed then send you the recept. It is like giving a signed blank check to a plumber and telling him to fill in amount.

Called this company for a damaged water line; gentlemen was professional, gave me a reasonable/fair price, didn't try to look around to see what else was broken to sell me anything else. Very straight forward!

Called this guy for about a week straight for my parents because their basement started backing up, anyhow after trying to just to get him to come out to at least do an estimate like he said he would no show. Even the person handling the calls told him that I've called several times throughout the week still no show. To say less when calling your own people gets you no where & if you have the resources call Roto router!

They were on time and very polite. Kept things clean and had the job done quickly. Drains all working great again. Price was as expected for a house call. Very Satisfied!

We had a small drip in the bathroom tub, not an emergency. We called at the end of last week and got an appointment for today (Tuesday) and were given the window of between 11-1. A very personable young man showed up at 10:50 and got right to work. He looked professional with a Hertle Hardware polo on. He took his work boots off at the door and got right to work. The whole job took about 15 minutes, he showed me the part he replaced and explained everything to me. I felt that they charge a fair price and do honest work. We would definitely use them again.

Very knowledgeable staff and amazing as far as customer relations, they've done all the work at my house and then handled an emergency at my elderly parents house when a pipe broke in no time.

If you ever have a plumbing issue as I did, do not call Superior Plumbing & Heating. I live in a manufactured home in the Akron/Newstead area of Western NY. When my brother-in-law fixed the air conditioning ductwork under the house on Monday, he found a pipe that was leaking. So, I went to Angi's List and Superior called me. We set up an appointment for them to come out on Tuesday. After about 20 minutes advised me that it would cost me $749.00 plus tax. He did not give me a written estimate, just a verbal one, and said that the office would email one to me. I thought that was way too high, so I contacted my brother-in-law again and he came out today and fixed it. The part needed cost him around $7.00 at Home Depot. He also fixed a few other things while he was under the house. He didn't tell him the grand total, but I guess under $50. The guy from Superior saw a single, elder handicapped woman and decided he could take advantage of me. Well, I may be old, but I'm not stupid and I can smell a scam when it's standing in my living room! Below is a pic of what was replaced.

Bait & Switch - Run.

I hired them to run new plumbing, and added on easy things (swapping out fixtures, re-route sump pump line) while they were there. It was supposed to be completed in 10 days.

After 6 weeks of excuses and partial progress, they refused to do most of the pipe installations I'd hired them for, only did the easy work and inflated all the prices.

Their gas work leaked. National Fuel refused to hook up the gas meter to the meter connection I had them move outside from the basement because it was so leaky. CEF came back, fixed it and the gas piping still leaked outside. The same National Fuel rep came back, after it was fixed and he took pity and fixed it for me because it still leaked.

Later I had a separate firm work on my furnace. They  asked what hack installed the hot water tank next to it because they used the wrong type of pipe - it was CEF who installed it.

I declined them swapping 4 fixtures for $400 total - and asked them to do one. They did one, left a poorly cut, hole and dust everywhere, and charged $600.

For good measure they ripped a downspout off my house and didn't put it back on, or mention it.

Unreliable after they get your deposit. Many problems were identified by other plumbers years later.

Installed new toilet at my ma's house, after a 6 week wait.  The toilet started leaking after a few days.  Called Doug, he said it was just sweating.  The leak at the base of the toilet, got so bad after a few weeks, we called him back, he finally came over and said nothing was wrong (??really)  we continued to mop up water everyday, and look for a new plumber.  FINALLY we found out from another source, the seal was probably too small.  SO, my husband, brother, and I, took the toilet out put in a bigger seal and re-installed the toilet.  Problem solved, after weeks of water ruining the floor!   Never will I recommend them.
