Our main sewer line was backing up in the basement and we initially called Uptown Plumbing to fix it. Someone came to our house and spent ~45 min attempting to unclog the drain. He said he was hitting something about 10ft out. After using a camera, I was told that we need to excavate and repair a section of our sewer pipe for $6000. We decided we wanted another opinion before making a pressured/rushed decision to spend that much money.
Gene's Water & Sewer was one of the first places I called looking for another opinion. The person I spoke to was extremely helpful. He spent ~20 minutes talking to me and offering his professional opinion. He sent me a quote for the sewer repair work (which was about half the price of what Uptown had quoted me). He also recommended just having someone clean the drain again who is better at it because we most likely didn't actually need that expensive repair done. We decided to call the company he recommended to do a more thorough cleaning (Cardinal Services) and try to save having to do the expensive repair. The person who came was excellent; had the camera and the snake and was able to completely clean 90ft of pipe to the front street in ~2.5 hours (we don't need the sewer repair/excavation work done). While we didn't actually need to use Gene's Water & Sewer, their willingness to spend that much time talking to someone and offering sound advice made me trust them. If we do need sewer work in the future, we will definitely be calling them!

Ron with Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer and Water went above and beyond to help my husband and I with our main sewer line issue. Ron came to our house multiple times, accommodated my complicated busy schedule, and was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and most importantly honest about what we did and more importantly didn't need. Ron went so far as to connect with the City to help us document where our mainline connection was, personally verify it, and helped us to understand what, we as homeowners, owned. Five-stars for Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer and Water, highly recommend!

After calling another local plumber and leaving an email and them not getting back to me, I called Dad's plumbing and talked to a real person who said they would have the plumber call me back soon, he called within thirty minutes, told me where he was and about how long to get to my place, and got right to work. Friendly, easy to talk to, and good at explaining what he was doing and why. He and his comrade fixed the drainage issue and got my kitchen back to working order for the upcoming holiday. I would highly recommend them, even if he would not have been able to come to quickly, he called back right away and let me know his situation in conjunction with mine, that is good business, and he cares about customer service!

Terrell also came to install a water heater contracted thru Center Point. Like other reviewers, he was kind, clean without harming a newly installed foam flooring in our kid's play room, and was finished in 90 minutes. It would have been five stars if we didn't have the gas leak. I left for the day and when my husband returned from work, our house smelled of gas. He had to leave and wait outside for a CenterPoint tech to fix it. It took 90 minutes total, and I had to drive around with my 9 month old waiting until they were done as we were en route home at the time.
Before calling Centerpoint to have a tech come out, my husband called the number on the card and they were closed. It did say for an emergency call Josh. He called Josh, and he didn't answer, and he could not leave a voicemail because his inbox was full. Josh called back ten minutes later when my husband was on the phone with center point. He said to defer to the centerpoint tech and stay out of the house and keep him informed. He called back for an update, the tech had identified the issue and found several leaks. Josh said if they needed to red tag it because it couldn't be fixed, let him know so he could replace it. He was matter of fact and not apologetic. The tech fixed the issues, so there was no reason to follow up. This review is being written because it is unclear if Center Point is going to follow up with Urban Pine (we asked them to and they didn't get a straight answer). It was a really stressful evening. We will also be following up again with centerpoint. We didn't get a clear answer as to what happened and we never received an apology from either company.

Mike is great. I thought my toilet was initially loose, and have Mike to correct the problem. Then, we found out the flange was cracked and it caused some leaking. He was able to identify the root cause and fixed the problem. He did need to open up the drywall to get to a very tight space, but he was able to do it with minimal damage. He is very professional and very good in his craft. I would highly recommend him for anyone.

This company has very poor customer service. We had a question on our bill (it being almost double what we were quoted) and they would not call us back. Keep in mind what they came and did for the work was exactly what was quoted, no surprises. Almost a week later and no callback, but did get some rude receptionist so that was nice. We are not rude people, we literally just wanted an explanation before paying. I have never been treated so poorly. Watch out for the bait and switch. You should not be in business. Will be reporting to the BBB as well.

The entire team was very professional and prompt. The technician, Derek (#4349) was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Not only did he fix the issue, but he explained things as he went and made suggestions for self maintenance that will certainly be useful.

Have used Bob's Plumbing two times in the past 6 months. Once for a water heater replacement and once for a main water line leak. Both times Bob showed up very quickly and did fast but PROFESSIONAL/GOOD work. Couldn't have asked for better service and quality of work. Thanks Bob!!

I was charged $453.00 for one hour of work to replace a faucet - and I provided the new faucet! The charge was $394.00 for the work PLUS $59.00 for a house call.
The company confirm that, according to their pricing book, that was the correct
charge for that job.

Chad was the worst plumber I have ever used. He called and said I'll be there at 9:30am. showed up at 8:30am because he had nothing to do. He replaced a shower cartridge - in all of 10 min. I called another plumber and they said it should take longer than that. There was no indication that he even replaced the cartridge. No water in the tub, no dirt, nothing except a NICK on my chrome ring above the handle. He handed me a dirty part that he pulled out of his dirty bucket and asked me if I wanted it - very UNPROFESSIONAL. He had turned the water off in order to replace the cartridge. After the supposed installation, he went downstairs and turned the water back on. Never went back into the bathroom to check his work. If he had, he would have seen that a lot of the water was now flowing into the tub from the faucet below. I called to speak to the mgr - Jenny is always in meetings or going to meetings. She finally called me back and told me that when a new part is installed, another one may be affected. She said she would have Chad call me with an estimate on replacing that part. I never got a call (6 days later) Jenny was in another meeting when I called so I spoke to her husband Dick. The first thing he said was that the call was being recorded. Like I care? He didn't listen and had a hard time understanding anything. I told him the handle was lose when you turn it - he said it shouldn't be I told him it was probably never replaced or it was the cheap part that they put in there (they buy in bulk - JUNK parts). I also told him about water pouring out of the faucet in the tub as well. He said on your water heater? I had no idea what he was talking about, as I told him the TUB. Dick said he had a hard time believing Chad didn't check his work. I told him there was no water in the tub, and you can't check when the water is off. Since they charge $180 an hour, I told him about other things that needed to be done. He told me if I went over the hour, I would have to pay him overtime - to talk to him about other projects? He is their only plumber for residential work. CALL ANOTHER PLUMBING COMPANY...You should expect someone more professional at this hourly rate!!!!

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any service EVER! One week into signing at my new house the sewer/pipes backed up. It was a Saturday afternoon and I called this place. Someone came out a couple hours later and snaked the drain in the basement. He said he got out 100+ feet and still couldn't resolve the problem. He said he could go get a powerful pressure tool from his company and come back to flush it out. He said it would be a temporary fix. I did not realize the temporary fix would only last until Wednesday, cost $500, and leave sewage all over my basement and the stairs leading into the basement. I had guests already over and I had to run to Target to get supplies to clean up poop all over. Why why WHY wouldn't someone at least tell me to put something down to protect my new house from nasty sewage? There was a whole hour I could have done that while he was getting the pressurized equipment. SO MAD!!! And disgusted.

Run! This company charges by the job and refuses to give a price breakdown for parts and labor. I should never have agreed to the price and will never use this company again. I absolutely feel like I was take advantage of. Please use a company that is honest and more transparent about pricing.

Prompt service, very professional technicians, installed a new air exchanger for 60% of the price of 2 other bids. They even went out of their way to repair AND paint the wall where the controller was installed.

Hi there, giving them 2 stars as the tech that came out very nice and polite and the company did respond pretty quickly to my dispute. Was hearing some strange sounds from my boiler so asked neighbors who to contact that was affordable/trustworthy. Was referred to Forrest heating. Called number for them and was surprised that they had answered as Cities1. They explained the had purchased Forrest Heating and he was now working for them. Set an appointment to have it looked at the next week.
Rep came out and was nice and respectful and had me crank up my heat to see what happened in less than ten min he let me know the unit was heating too high so the High Limit Temp sensor/modual was bad and would run out to the truck to call hiss boss and check and see how much it would cost to fix. After talking to his boss he came back in and let me know it would be about $700 to fix. I asked for a breakdown of the cost and he said he would have his boss call back to give me a breakdown. He also warned me that his boss would likely try to sell me a new boiler given mine was a bit old. Given the cost I said I would have to get another opinion before making a decision.
Called another group and explained the condition, part needed and the cost which was met with a laugh. I will admit we didn't discuss the specific product number but I informed him it was a Bryant unit from the 1970's and gave home the model and he stated the part itself should be no more than $100-150 and takes 10 min to install. He then asked if I had turned the temp up on the sensor and turned it back down as it can be common for them to stick? I tried it per his instructions and now everything is working fine again, no $700 fix.
Fast forward a month later a bill shows up in the mail (which I fully expected) for $205 for the 15 min visit (which I did not expect) Emailed the company given the cost and being less than satisfied with the $700 quote for a sticky switch and the trying to sell me a new boiler for a minor issue and to their credit the owner got back to me right away. Politely tried explaining to me that $205 is the minimum charge for a house call and that their rates are competitive and even for small jobs they have to bill for more time to make it worth their while. We ended our conversation at that.
In conclusion, I'm giving them 2 stars as they came out on time and were responsive to my dispute, but I would not recommend them based on their trip costs, parts cost, calculation of time billed for and in my opinion an emphasis on getting you to do the most expensive things not trying and explaining other alternatives.

I called and spoke to person who answered the phone and asked to get a quote on a bidet toilet seat installation. The guy didn't seem to understand what that was so I explained it to him and then he said he needs to come out to give me an exact quote. I then said I'm just trying to understand what the range could be so I could save both him and myself some time. He then said I should find another plumber.
I said, well it's just common sense here because why spend our time with an appointment only to find out the range would be too much. For example, I told him if you tell me typically it will cost $400 then I'd say alright well don't bother with an official quote because that range is too much for me. However if it's between 50-200 I'd be very interested.
He then hung up on me.
