It's a no from me.  I was having new flooring installed in my kitchen and contacted Apollo to take my stove off of the gas line and cap it off temporarily so that the flooring work could be completed.  The office staff was nice enough and they scheduled a technician to come to my home in a reasonable timeframe, within two days.  Upon arrival, the technician removed the stove from the gas line and informed me that the pipe in the kitchen was badly damaged and need to be replaced, not repaired, but replaced.  He further stated that Apollo wouldn't even hook the stove back up with the pipe in this condition.  Which really concerned me that the situation was dire.  He continued to tell me that in order to replace this pipe they would need to cut out extensive portions of my basement ceilings, running just about the full length of the house and over to where the stove area was in the kitchen above.  He told me that he could have someone in their office get me a quote for this work.  It then occurred to me, does this guy work on commission or some sort of incentive program?
Before leaving the technician had my bill prepared and tried to overcharge me significantly vs. what the office had quoted me.  I asked him to call the office to confirm and only then did he adjust his price.  Additionally, he had turned off the water heater and missed turning it back on before he left so needed to have them come back out the following day to turn it back on.
Luckily, I got a second opinion on the pipe and got it repaired at the source, in the kitchen, without having to run new pipe or ripping out my ceilings.  It was all completed within an hour by a reputable local company.  They even fixed one of the burners on the stove that wasn't working, for no additional cost.
My advice is to watch for the upsell with these guys and get a second opinion.  Definitely tried to take advantage of the little lady!

We have used Apollo for almost 30 years.  Outstanding company, very knowledgeable techs, great customer service.  Highly recommended.

Our heating system is very complex with two air handlers, two AC units, a boiler, forced air and in-floor heat tied into a hot water system for the house.  The pipe fitting in the basement looks like you're in a submarine.  This complexity also allows us to have an amazing heat system that works very well and is very cost efficient.

If Apollo can manage our heating system, most other homes should be simple.  But, if you want to go high tech and you want efficiency, they are up on all the latest.

BEWARE, do not believe everything you read. After numerous screw-ups Apollo offered me credits if I gave a 5 star review. I have a 900 sq ft home with hot water heat. My boiler was working but gave me trouble ever so often. I am in my 70's and like to travel in the winter and needed a system that was completely dependable. Apollo's salesman promised I would never have to worry about leaving my home unattended again because their $19,000. system would be worry free. Yeah right. I have had them out numerous times for 'no heat' service calls. If it is below zero (often in MN) the system will not heat to over the 60's. If I want 70 I must run my fireplace and space heaters. The system went out completely on Tuesday night and the house was mid 50's. I got it running again and called Apollo twice yesterday and they just got a call back today. Using this company was a big mistake and I will probably have to spend more to hire a lawyer just to get them to do what they contracted to do.
UPDATE: They answered that I should contact them. Really? I have contacted them numerous times. They were out last week when I once again  had no heat and I wrote them on Friday to tell them I had no heat (2nd time in two days) and I have not heard from them since.
Mar 2022 Update: Have had the system 5 months. System is consistently down. Called 4 days ago to tell them I had no heat and was told 'they are all in a meeting tomorrow but I will have someone call you by the end of the week So now 4 days later and no call from Apollo. Was in the low 40's in my house last night and had to turn on my stove, electric burners and 2 space heaters to get 61 degrees. I called them and was told 'they're in a meeting'. Seems their meetings are more important than their customers. Finally after pleading to talk to a mgr. I have asked that they remove the system and return my money. Will  probably end up in court.

I recently got rid of my trusty old Lennox Pulsejet that was in the house when I moved to MN in 1990's.  I do most of my own furnace maintenance, and in the early 2000's, I found that the heat exchanger was cracked.  Since this was covered by the Lennox warranty, I had Apollo come and replace it.  I thought the labor charge was a little steep, but accepted it.  Several days later when I first tried to use the furnace again, it would not ignite.  I was going to look at it myself, but I wound up calling Apollo instead since this was obviously related to the recent service.  It turns out there was a connection that was not properly fastened.  I had some heartburn with being charged another service call, but paid it and vowed never to call Apollo again.

Fifteen years of reliable, trusty service followed with only minor issues, mostly replacing the flapper valve and spark plug.  Yearly testing found the new exchanger to be airtight.  There was nothing like hearing that rumbling purr coming from the basement on a cold winter night.  However, after 20+ years, t'was time for a new furnace.

Okay, so you're probably wondering why I'm writing this...well, after removing the Lennox, I disassembled it to see how things held up, including cutting into the exchanger to look for corrosion (very little).  This is when I found a lot of horribly bad workmanship  by Apollo's service tech.  Unfastened ground wires, missing bolts, missing washers, etc...seriously?  Most notably...missing bolts on the exchanger manifold, which could easily have resulted in a CO leak.  While it's possible, that the offending technician is no longer there, this story still needed to be told.  If anyone at Apollo reads this, bring it to the attention of your present employees as an example that, yes, quality does matter, and a shoddy job will come back to haunt you.

Rated 5 stars because I know that the work that was done is exactly what we requested and it was done efficiently! It also left us with a feeling that we have found someone that we can trust!

This is the second year we have had a service contract with Apollo. I have been happy up to this point. They were out to check the AC and found the Capacitor needed to be replaced after the technician checked it. He had removed it, had it in his hand and tested it again. He said it would be best if it was replaced and we would probably save a service call down the line. He put a new one in for $152.00 after my 10% discount. Now mind you he was already out here for the AC check-up and had the capacitor out to check it. I asked to have the old one and he gave it to me. Needless to say I did some checking and I later found the exact same one in North St Paul for $15.00 out the door. I know it didn't cost this guy $15.00 and he made some money off of me. I am pissed that Apollo charged me $152.00 for a part that joe citizen can get for $15.00. I realize they have other costs involved, like keeping parts on hand, but 1,000 %. I called and asked for a partial refund but no luck. I could see them charging me say, $50.00 for the part, but $152.00.... No More Apollo for me. BTW the technician was great !

I can describe this business in one word: PREDATORY!! I have no doubt, their technicians know their stuff, but their best skill is selling you a complete system. That's how they make their money. Their repair estimates are a joke.
My central air was only low on R22 freon. It needed less than 2 lbs. They gave me a quote for $2122 to charge my system up to 4 lbs, and the guy tells me to blame the super high cost of freon on the government (that's over $500/lb). What a crook!! My furnace was fine but tried to sell me a complete AC & furnace for a whopping $17,000!!! If you see one of their coupon for tune ups, throw it away, and find another HVAC to fix your AC. I got my  AC freon recharge for $120.

Called them fir a $59 tune up and ended up with frozen pipes that almost destroyed my home
After s routine call for a low cost furnace inspection they discovered s cracked heat exchanger snd red ragged my furnace on a Friday. Which means shut it off
My friend was here snd grilled them on why. Unsafe due to s reading in excess of allowed limits of co2. But. The co2 was going up the chimney and nit into the house!!! I already had co2 monitors so knew I wasn't getting excess co2 in the house. End result was that they told me they would leave me two Space heaters if I bought a furnace from them. So since I wouldn't commit without checking prices I had no heat!!!
Once the temp went down overnight on the weekend in the house to 40 my water stopped running in s colder area. I turned on my electric stove to heat the house and bought two heaters. I got bids and used someone else fir a new furnace. So just beware that if you call up for this low cost check you could end up in s situation like mine

We needed HVAC work done, and they were recommended by the manufacturer.  They came promptly and needed to order a part.  They missed their window to install the part by 3 hours.  The trip fee for the first trip (10 minutes, mostly spent processing my credit card) was $149, and the labor cost to install the part (in under 15 minutes) was $140.  I will use someone else next time.

I called Apollo to schedule a visit for an air conditioner replacement bid. When I questioned the 159.00 trip charge for the visit the lady on the phone hung up on me! We've used Apollo a couple of times in the past for some furnace repair work but we'll never use them again! There are many other companies in the Twin Cities that do not charge for a bid so going forward we'll use one of them for our furnace/air conditioning business.

Had a pretty bad experience recently. First time I used my AC after a tune up I wound up with water damage from my attic. Went to check out the issue, and the condensation overflow PVC pipe was snapped at the base.

Tech that came out told me I had to replace the entire system for $5-10k, and didn't want to touch the PVC pipe because it was old.

Here are pictures of me doing  the repair:

These people sold us a bill of goods. We bought an in-floor electric heating system for our new work space and purchased their product because they told us it would be more efficient than a gas furnace, which would have cost more initially to install. When we asked their salesperson if would cost less than gas, he told us that it would be more efficient. Nor was he willing to furnish us with a list of customer referals. Still, foolishly, we went ahead with the installation because winter was fast approaching and we wanted to use the area right away. Well, two seasons later, our electric bills have tripled: $94/mo to $300/mo!! Apollo refuses to address the problem even though we contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. They are very apt dissemblers, with lots of reasons and excuses why it is our problem now, even though their less than accurate information got us into this mess!
Stay away from Apollo!

Called to make an appointment. Booked it for June 6.  Called to confirm and they didn't have the appointment. ok I just have had he wrong company I thought to myself.  They immediately called me back to say they had a new system and some apts weren't transferring and they would be there between 8-12  ok cool I can deal with that.

I get a text msg (picture attached) the night before saying they would be there between 10-1130. Cool! Narrowed down time.

Strike one: they're not there by 1140. I call the main office and they said he's finishing up with another appointment.

Strike two: I say ok will be be here by noon?  I got a text last night saying he would be here by 1130!  No they said. The system is sending them out and shouldn't be. Your window goes til 1230.  By 1 I asked ?  They can't confirm and asked if I can reschedule.  No thanks. If your company can't keep on schedule and has a messed system that says all I need to know about your service.your  time is money. So is mine and I'll be giving mine to a company that has working scheduling systems and technicians who keep their time slots.

Strike 3 Apollo. You're out.

When I realized my 5 yr old furnace wasn't running and couldn't reach the company that installed it, I called Apollo.  I was offered a $100 tune-up special, but their next availability wasn't until a week later, from 3 to 5 pm.  A week later at 4:30 pm I call to find out why their guy hasn't shown up.  Found out 3 to 5 pm meant that's when he would arrive, their guy couldn't be reached, and, oh, btw, their best tune up special was really $89 with a coupon.  I said I really didn't want them working on my furnace during dinner, and they asked if I wanted to reschedule!  I said no, have their guy call me to give me his ETA.  Meanwhile, I made several calls to try to schedule someone else.  At 5 pm I called back to again ask where he was.  Was told he tried to reach me, but I didn't answer the phone!  So it's my fault he didn't display who he was on caller ID and wouldn't leave a message?  And that I had to go to the back of the line at another HVAC company?  Thanks for the good intentions, Apollo, but 0 for execution.

Weekend service so I knew pricing would be a bit.  The service tech showed up and was good at fixing the issue which was a blown transformer in the furnace.  What came next was just a travesty.  We did not know how much the part was until after it was replaced and 569.00 later for a part on internet that averages from 30.00 - 60.00 we ended up paying as I am no HVAC expert.  I would expect companies to be semi reasonable on parts costs. 2 stars only cause they where prompt and tech was good but pricing for parts is  a 600% premium.  Never again apollo.

Brad Ronchetto from Apollo Heating & Air Conditioning is an awesome technician. He is knowledgeable, understanding, honest, and respectful. Our furnace went out in December and our experience for getting it repaired was painless. If you reach out to Apollo for service, I recommend you ask for Brad to be your service tech.

Prompt service, very professional technicians, installed a new air exchanger for 60% of the price of 2 other bids.  They even went out of their way to repair AND paint the wall where the controller was installed.

I would never use Apollo or recommend them to anyone. They gave me the quote the end of April and we were ready to have them start in June and Tony said that had he known we were going to wait so long he would have increased his bid! 6 weeks is a long time between a quote and starting an install when we had framing and other work to coordinate? Then the guys show up a day or two later than scheduled and take longer than planned. When the weather got hot they disappeared for almost 3 weeks because they had to take care of their other customers according to Tony. They twisted a gas line that 2 Xcel Energy employees said was a safety issue and it took multiple emails to Tony and finally a not-so-pleasant call from the contractor to get them to repair it. Now the temperature is in the teens and my furnace doesn't work and it has been less than 6 months since the install. The service guys are nice and easy to work with but don't work with Tony - all hat and no cattle, as they say.

Had water dripping out my AC unit in a weird place. Apollo repair person came out and honed in on the problem within two minutes. He pulled off a connector to the drain line that was full of sediment keeping the unit from draining properly. He rinsed the part out in the sink, screwed it back in and voila! $239 dollars spent. Shame on me for not inquiring what the trip charge is ($149 just to say hello). $90 for him to rinse the gunk out of a plastic piece and screw it back in left me feeling screwed. Won't be calling them again.

I hired Apollo to seal up my ductwork to make it more efficient. The salesman set the appointment for 8 a.m.   The morning of, I received a text stating the tech was on his way to my house (7:08 a. m.). At 8:20, no one has arrived. I text the number listed in the text, no response.  I called the salesman who set the time. No answer, voicemail full; he then texts me stating they are on the way to my house. I said that's what the text said at 7:08, to which he replies they are automated. As if to say they don't matter. The tech did finally show up at 9. I had to cancel two appointments because of this. The next day I have no heat; I call Apollo and get attitude. A tech is dispatched, and he shows up having already done his homework. He talked to the tech from the day before and said that nothing he did could have caused this and that if he looked at our system, he would have to charge us. The money grab is on. My expectations have set the bar too high for the money I spent. You have shown that you think your time is worth more than mine. Thanks for the follow-through on a freezing morning, Apollo!

$237 to clean a sensor and release pressure on a hose.  Didn't accept a coupon for discount on service call because he didn't use any parts - told me to read the fine print.  I suspect there are a lot of service calls that don't require parts, and he seemed well versed in explaining why they won't accept it without even looking at it.  If that's how they get their customers and revenue, I'm sure there are better options out there.  So - if you are looking for a new company to service your furnace and see a coupon for Apollo, skip it and move on to the next one.

They sent someone out to our house on a Sunday when our furnace went out during a cold snap a few weeks ago. The technician was friendly and professional, and they were ready to install a new furnace for us the next day.

Ultimately I bought from a different dealer (recommended by neighbors, and the price was less) but I've used Apollo in the past and have always gotten good service at a fair price. I would have been comfortable buying from them as well.

Great company and employees.  No complaints. Very neat and courteous installers for our furnace.  The sales person was honest and straight forward, didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. Will use them again.
