We bought a whole house water filter system and the other plumbers we contacted either wanted to overcharge us, didn't get back to us, or weren't capable of doing the job. Dana Hoagland plumbing was quick to give us quote- which was accurate of what they charged us, experienced and extremely fairly priced. I will be calling them from now on for any plumbing needs.

Nate at Duda Plumbing helped us with a new water heater. Clean and fast at a fair price. He is scheduled back to plumb a new full bath addition.

We had been in our new home roughly 24 hours when raw sewage began pouring into our basement from the floor drain, the shower drain, anywhere it could get into the basement. I was about to call one of the big names when I saw a great review of this local company. I called in the early morning and Nate pulled up before 2pm. He was a rock star. He dropped the camera probe in, found the obstruction, augered it out, and inspected the pipe's entire length for future problems as he went, talking me through his findings. He then cleared out my decomposed drain cover and cleaned up everything he touched, as well as some of the mess that was already there. Great service, great advice, easy going, and the cost was less than I've paid in the past for other companies (by a good margin). I've already made a calendar entry in my phone to call McDonough's every two years for preventative maintenance on the pipe. We can go back to loving our new house again!

Dave is a life saver! 3 days before Christmas and our water heater died on us. The next day he was able (and willing) to get and install a new water heater, on a day he planned on taking off, since it didn't get above 0 and we had strong winds. Second time working with him and I will never look for another plumber again!

Very professional and thorough. Did a great job on repairing our toilet and cleaned up afterwards.

I've known these guys since they did a boiler installation for me in 2008. They were by the far the lowest bid of the three that I received. Service has always been excellent. They are also always willing to give you a few minutes of advice over the phone of a few things to check before you order service, which can be a real money-saver. Greg in particular has been very great to work with.

Terrible customer service and quality of work. Majeski made many mistakes but we were told if they lowered the price they would lose money. Apparently more concerned about over charging customers then quality work. Would not recommend!

Really responsive and prompt. Showed me how to fix the problem myself in the future. Completely cleaned up after unclogging our bathroom sink. Would have never known they were here except our drain was no longer clogged!

Our water heater sprang a slow leak and I called (late on a Friday) Benjamin Franklin Plumbing because we had used them MANY years ago - the first day we moved into our current home. Julie, who answered the phone, was VERY helpful and scheduled a plumber for Saturday. There was no set timeframe but they assured me they would call before arriving - which they did - both by text and by phone. This permitted me to continue on with my Saturday errands, knowing I had plenty of time to arrive home before the plumber did. I totally appreciated that transparency in scheduling. Dylan was our plumber who knew exactly what to do. He was professional, pleasant to deal with, and efficient. He wasted NO time and installed our new heater within about 3 hours. He had an incredibly tight space in which to work and did an excellent job. He was also very respectful of our home, which Is a biggie for me! All things considered, including having work done on a weekend, I didn't think the price was too bad. We were up and running with water and hot water in no time. I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin for your plumbing needs. They are reliable and won't disappoint.

I signed what appeared to be a pre-work cost estimate.
Job ended up being much shorter and less complex than expected. Yet, the full price was still charged at end.
Plumber arrived and looked at work. He went on at length about how complex the job was, and how it would be a big job, if even possible at all. I was then presented with what I believed to be an estimated cost ($870), which I signed.
Nothing was stated at this time about FIXED UP FRONT PRICING. The plumber then performed the work, which took under two hours, and involved no complexity and very limited materials (2' of pvc pipe, a strainer basket, and a couple of fittings).
I was then asked to pay the entire $870 price (over $300 per hour work equivalent). I was surprised by this, since the job was so simple and quick (both of which I thought were good news).
It was at *THIS* point that I was told that the company uses fixed up-front pricing, and not time/materials/mark-up etc...
I have several complaints about this:
1) it was not explained at all (let alone in detail) up front
2) it makes no sense...it virtually gaurantees that every job gets over-bid
3) the company knows they have you on the hook for a visit fee, and that you have also taken a day off of work, etc....this puts you in a high-pressure high-stakes situation.
4) None of this is explained on the phone when you call them to ask for service.
The entire thing makes me very suspicious of a predatory, high pressure, unethical business practice. Even if I can't get my money back - I feel it is very important to warn future customers of what is happening with this company.

We had Bruckmueller Plumbing install the water line on our new refrigerator, and install our new dishwasher and garbage disposal. He was very professional and did an excellent job!

Mike quoted me on the phone: $150, which includes an hour of service. He said the part would be $49 or $79. Ryan came, installed the pump and charged $263. At the time I had another worker here so I didn't add up the bill. After Ryan left, I realized the discrepency and called Mike and told him there's about a $40 difference on what he quoted and what Ryan charged. Mike said it's their $40 trip charge (even though the difference is really only $34). I told him he never mentioned a trip charge, just that it would be $150 which includes an hour of service time. He said they don't have to say there's a trip charge, that people ask if there's a trip charge and that I should have asked. I tried to explain that all the other plumbing companies i called were up front about a trip charge, he argued and got loud then hung up on me when I told him I'd contact, BBB and Attorney General for charging hidden costs. Do not deal with this belligerent owner who refused to waive his made-up $40 trip fee.

Would never do business with this company. Very unprofessional. Very dangerous while driving.

We had them as our only plumber for 15+ years. They used to be great. Until we need an emergency job done on our septic. Not only did they go well over the estimate, but when we'd paid in full the amount agreed upon, and asked for another month to pay the additional $2500. (We had already paid $13,000, 40% due up front) We had to be consistently diligent about getting them out to get the job done before the ground froze. We were not the least bit happy with the mess they left us in, after over charging to begin with.
