Best Electricians in California

This was my second time hiring Darell and again he gets 5/5. This time, I had an outdoor water pipe (above ground) which had a pinhole leak due to rust at the connection site. I called Darell to ask if this was something he could repair and he said yes. He came a few hours later and even though it ended up being a bigger project, he stayed till the end and finished the work. I am super happy that he was my first call.  Just like the last time, he was polite, professional, and knowledgeable.

I called before July 4th. I got a call back same day. It was a good call but the guy asked if he could get back to me after the holidays. I said no problem then waited a week- no call. I called again and got hung up on. He called right back, said he had bad reception and would call me back. NO CALL, no text, no email. Went with Raceway Electric who scheduled a meeting the next day.

Submitted my work request & info via their website form on June 16th.  No response after 48 hours, not even to say they were too busy.

Can I say enough good things about Richard Olinger and his business!!??? The list goes on and on. Every time I interact with Rick or his crew, I am just beyond satisfied and relieved to know that I am working with HONEST professionals who do top QUALITY work for a REASONABLE price. I can't believe I lucked out finding this business.

Here's my long story. I had to do an electrical rewire and panel upgrade for my small house (650 sq ft) this past winter. It was around the holidays and we were in a bit of a time crunch, so I passed over Olinger to go with someone else (business shall not be named) who seemed like they were ready to get the work done ASAP (Olinger was booked up for a while at that point--makes sense, since they do great work). Going with that other business was a MISTAKE. The other contractor charged almost twice as much more than Olinger did for his first estimate, and then it was one excuse after another for getting the rewire completed. The final straw came when the other guy demanded an extra $4k for the new panel (parts ONLY--not including the labor) because of supply chain issues even though we had the cost already laid out in our contract. I know some panels are hard to come by right now, but $4k for a 200amp service panel (just the part--not the labor, mind you) seemed suspicious to me. On top of all that, the other guy did sloppy work. It was a tough decision but I had to terminate that contract. This all happened about 2 weeks before we had to move--we were patching all the drywall holes ourselves. We needed help.

Que Olinger Electric, who came in and was immediately able to pick up the other guy's work where he left off and get it done QUICKLY! They were even able to give us temporary power in the house, which helped SO much with the remodel (being able to plug in our batteries for tools, etc.). The other guy had us running an extension cord from outside. It was like night and day. Olinger's team was able to squeeze us in their schedule last minute so that our electrical was ready for our move in. It was so refreshing to have a contractor that understood our tight deadline and came when they said they would. Olinger and the other leads electricians treat the helpers/apprentices with RESPECT (unlike the other guy who was downright abusive to his helper constantly). The crew was super friendly. The receptionist for Olinger was a great communicator. They didn't leave garbage all over our yard. Their prices were so reasonable! AND on top of all that, their work was excellent!!!

As long as they are in business, I will be working with them for my electrical needs and recommending them to friends and family. Thank you Olinger Electric!

Hooked up my hottub and everything works great.  It has been 1.5 years since install and no issues.  JW was prompt and courteous.  The owner made some outstanding recommendations on the install - for example, a covered outdoor electical outlet (to avoid getting splashed) and we love it.
I now need to use JW again and wanted their number, found on Yelp and decided to post a review.  I will post again after they install my lights and fans in my outdoor living space!

Did a great job and he is able to troubleshoot quickly. Actually calls back and lets you know his status. Has a truck full of stock so no need to run to home depot.

We needed to install a 4 prong 30amp outlet for our electric dryer and the service was quick and done well. Eddie is the nicest person and he walked me through the whole process and the quote before he came. Definitely calling him for our next project! Thank you again Eddie!

I called Laurence from the Encinitas Electricians to set an appointment to fix my GFI outlet under my sink that operates my garbage disposal. Laurence ended up trouble shooting the issue and was able to fix it without even coming out. He didn't charge me and I have to say it is one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor in years. Laurence thank you for being so honest. I highly recommend this company and wish more were like Encinitas Electricians!

Great father son duo. They installed our bathroom vent, ceiling fan, and chandelier with care. We were missing some components but they were very patient and gave us time to get it all sorted out. Even made sure to wipe off the smudges on our shiny new fixtures. Awesome job!

Despite challenges in getting SDG&E out, which prolonged our project far beyond anything we imagined, we were very happy with Zapp and everyone who was onsite.  We hit a snag with a County inspector, and the crew improvised and redid some work (at no additional charge to us).
Super nice guys who also tolerated our dogs following them around.  We would definitely hire them again

This guy wasted two weeks of my time, and bailed on a contract the day work was scheduled to begin... via text message.

Robert did a wonderful job with multiple projects in my house, including a garage storage system and window blinds.  I called him today and he was able to schedule me the same day!  He gave me a very fair estimate and did not ask for more.  We are already planning to have him come back to do more construction work for us.  I would highly recommend his services and company.

We wee in need of a good electrician for our home and didn't want to hire just anybody.  We checked Yelp and saw John had very high ratings.  We contacted John and he came to our home to fix various electric repairs.  We were VERY impressed by John's professional demeanor, knowledge and personal attention to detail.  He did an A+ job and his prices are extremely reasonable.  I highly recommend John!!!

Our solar company dispatched smith electrical to come out as we lost power to half of our house.  We have old push button panels which are super old and a nightmare.  We had two other electricians (not w/Smith) come out and they couldn't get it working but these guys got it back in about 15 minutes!! I wish I could give the young guy props who got it back but forgot his name, sorry!  He took his time, was super nice and got it back when other electricians had given up and just said we need a new panel.  We do, but these guys got us up and running so we dont have to rush into a decision. Thanks!
