Best Air Duct Installation in Boston MA
Jen and Jonathan at Green Energy Mechanical were great to work with. After getting several (5) different quotes, Jonathan clearly stood out. He spent 45 minutes with us for a walk through, clearly explaining everything they would do. The price was competitive and the level of service was great. Both he and Jen were easy to communicate with if we had any questions or issues and we are extremely happy with the end result.
We contracted Green Energy for the installation of a new ac system and a conversion of an old steam radiator to forced hot air.
I would highly recommend them.

My 80 year old Mom has an older gas furnace that was firing up, but kept shutting down after a few minutes. With it being November in New England, it was becoming a concern. As we weren't able to afford a new furnace at the time, we just wanted to get her current system running again. A couple of other Billerica plumbing companies looked at the furnace, however, these plumbers were clearly more interested in just selling us a new gas furnace, and left with the heat NOT running. Saw a great review on YELP for Belanger & Sons, LLC out of Wilmington, and gave them a call. Steve from Belanger & Sons, LLC was outstanding! As the furnace is old, Steve suggested we seriously consider a new system, however, unlike the others, Steve took the time to get the system running and heating my Mom's home again! Belanger & Sons, LLC are true plumbing and heating professionals AND great people! Thank you Belanger & Sons, LLC plumbing and heating!

I was recently assigned Dello Russo as a subcontractor for installation on appliances I bought at Sears. [As an aside, that was a total debacle, and I wish I'd gone to Yale like I planned and found Dello Russo on my own to install! But anyway...]
I got a call from the owner about the installation time and he was very nice and very helpful even though Sears botched the order several times and he couldn't actually do it that day. The day of my rescheduled installation I got a call in the morning that the guys at Dello Russo had worked some kind of magic where they were able to get both of my appliances even though Sears had said it would probably be impossible.
The two installers (one is the brother of the owner) were young guys who were incredibly awesome (incidentally, also cute, if that matters to ya). Fast, efficient, cleaned up after themselves/my horrible gross water mess from letting a broken dishwasher sit too long... (I'm sure they've smelled worse but really, they were great). I feel like a jerk that I had no cash for tip, and I hope that they are paid well by Sears. I should mail something in.
I don't know if they usually travel all over the Boston area, but they came to Watertown. HIGHLY recommended.

I'm not one to usually give 5 stars, as even some outstanding places have issues. I can honestly say James was the best plumber I've had to deal with after 5 years as a homeowner. I called him to do preventative maintenance on my furnaces and replace the thermocouples. He arrived a bit early and quickly got to work. He walked me through what he was doing and showed me how to drain the air out of the pipes when the burners start for the first time in a season so that I wouldn't need to call him if I experienced the issue again. He took the time to show me what he did, how to take care of things myself, and even offered to help over the phone if things went awry. He was courteous, professional, and even gave me the coupon discount he had recently sent out but I didn't have yet and wasn't even aware of. James is an honest and hardworking plumber and I couldn't recommend him any higher.

I've had great experience with PHD plumbing. I got gas line extension and ball valve replaced on my boiler. PHD price was better than others, job was done quickly and professionally, passed inspection no problem. Both Rob an Tina are pleasure to deal with. And I love that they have price-list posted on their website.

George A. at Akian was very professional and reliable. He removed an old leaky toilet and replaced it. It was a tough job with old supply lines and drains. He worked non stop for hours as he was very detailed and diligent. Then he cleaned the entire bathroom. A very nice job. He's also a very nice guy.

If you need a smart, knowledgeable, kind, and RELIABLE plumber Brendan is your guy! He came out to our house for an emergency consult when we learned we had a burst pipe and he immediately diagnosed it and explained what was going on in a way I could understand (I know nothing about plumbing). He fixed the problem in no time! Brendan is our go-to plumber now and we wouldn't have it any other way!

I made an appointment with MacCo for the annual servicing of my ac and heating units. The person who answered the phone, Victor, explained that the price was the same as the previous year, but if I chose to pay by credit card there would be a 5% surcharge. I was told that I could choose to pay by cash or check instead to avoid the 5% surcharge. I was also told by Victor that he would confirm the appointment by phone the day before. On the day of the appointment, I never heard from Victor so I called the office to confirm. Victor was rather snippy and claimed he called me the day before, but my phone was busy. He could've emailed me, texted me or tried calling again, but he did none of those things. Also, he said if I looked out my window I would see the plumber's truck in the parking lot. Guess what? My condo is in the back and doesn't face the parking lot! In any event, the servicing of my ac and heating units was done satisfactorily and the plumber was far more pleasant than Victor. I'm not sure if Victor was having a bad day or if he's always confrontational with customers when things don't go smoothly, but the fact is, when anyone works in a customer facing role, they need to act politely and professionally at all times.

Sure Joe, I can write an update too. So yes, Joe reached out to me about my initial review and I offered my information to verify that yes, his plumbers came to my property, collected their fee and never gave a quote. He offered to refund my money, and I was at that point mentally willing to update my review after a fairly positive owner response.
I get it. Businesses have policies, and the plumbers may not have their own discretion to not collect a fee. They may be required to do so, and only a manager or owner can choose to waive or refund that in certain cases. That would make sense to me.
Imagine my surprise then when I log in to see that Joe claims on my review that I am the problem, that his team was waiting for more information and that I took to Yelp to complain rather than doing my part. I actually had a number of plumbing needs from the fairly involved that they needed more information on to the extremely simple, and got quotes on none of them. So I am a little frustrated to see that Joe comes on my review to make me look like a jackass rather than simply apologizing for the confusion.
I am still fairly sure that Boston Standard is staffed by skilled and competent technicians. I have not worked with them, but no construction business grows beyond a handful of tradesmen without doing things right on at least some level. However it is now clear to me that this is also a business that is less concerned with a positive customer experience, and more concerned with getting your money when it is convenient for them and covering their own rears. There is definitely a time and place for that kind of business relationship, but you should consider that seriously when researching whom to hire.
Lest we forget, two weeks later I still have not gotten that refund that Joe promised either.

I love this company and have used them all the time for my plumbing needs. They have replaced a water heater, replaced faucets both inside and out, as well as replaced faucets and fixed leaks. They even removed a gas heater for me. They are friendly, reliable, and clean. I highly recommend them!

The electrician quoted me a price that I knew was high. So I asked for an itemized quote and I was told they don't do that.
I wouldn't work with tradespeople who can't justify their price.
The plumber who came from 128 did good work but his price was also high.

Background: My AC unit wasn't pumping out cold air, only blowing room temp air.
Response time - Excellent. They were at my place less than 90 minutes after calling
Work performed - Excellent. Diagnosed the issue almost immediately and replaced the capacitor in less than 15 minutes total
Cost - Mediocre. Charged $100 for the part which was fine but $245 for the service call. To me, that's just too much, especially since this wasn't specified ahead of time. Only after the work was performed so what option did I have?
Overall - Solid. They got the job done, fast. Just wish the price of the service call was more transparent.

Bloody awful. Unfortunately, zero stars isn't an option. After having spent over $900 to this company in the last 6 or seven weeks, my furnace still isn't right. The guys who came to service my water heater as part of my annual service contract did nothing, because the drain valve is plastic vs. brass, and all they tried to do as part of their plumbing inspection is sell me more pricey services. It seems every possible solution to my furnace issue involves another big expense; it's all trial and error apparently. 15 years ago, they were great, giving us a hardship discount on a much needed furnace when times were tough for us. Is this even the same company? Maybe they suckered me. Either way, I'm very disappointed in GEM.

Great installation of my new Furnace and A/C unit. Friendly office staff and workforce. Price is a bit on the high side, but you get what you pay for. Would recommend to friends and family. John I. was a great help in answering numerous questions I had about the two units installed. Nest thermostat works great.

This company gets a capital F, the customer service from the on call and office staff sucks. The boiler they installed pilot light went out and they have no one to repair it until next week Wednesday thru Friday and they can't guarantee that someone will be available. Do not use this company.

WP&H fixed our boiler ultimately. The owner was incredibly responsive and helpful. He was available to us at all hours and was forthcoming about the cost and issues. And Steve, the technician, was fantastic. He spent the time, explained everything to us and clearly cared to help us get our hot water working even in with a boiler that he doesn't work with frequently. I didn't rate them higher because we had a lot of trouble getting in touch with them for follow-up appointments to resolve the issue. Our first call was on a Wed and the issue wasn't fixed until the following Tuesday. Steve had helped us find a work-around for the weekend, but we were waiting for heat for almost a week because the person answering the phones/scheduling technicians didn't return our calls. They gave us a discount in the end and we really liked the actual plumbers, but had we known it would take so long and that we would be waiting for responses for days, we would have chosen another company.

I called for HVAC repair at the start of the cold weather and they said someone would be out later that day -- even giving me a time window in which to expect them. They then canceled last-minute during that window, leaving me without heat after I had already turned down other companies due to my exising appointment with them. The best they would offer as a rescheduled appointment was not for another month.
I took a chance on a company without any reviews and this is the result. Call them at your own risk.
