Best Gas Water Heater Repair in Washington DC

Joseph K. and Walker came out to remove/replace our 50 Gallon hot water heater with a Navien A2 series tankless unit and remove Polybutylene piping from a bathroom remodel by a previous owner.  They were clean, efficient and very considerate.  They also installed two 3M whole house filters and I'm really pleased with the layout they chose.

Terrible.  Emailed -- no response.  Called the office and spoke with an individual who said someone else would call me back -- never called me back.  Texted another plumber -- apparently he retired and turned over his business to this company.   Texter identified themselves as being from Staton and said they would call me after a certain time -- but no return call.  When I texted that I was done with their non-responsiveness I received a call.  Had an appointment for today -- 4 hour window for them to look at the current water heater and give me an estimate for replacing with a tankless water heater -- NEVER SHOWED and NEVER COMMUNICATED.  I have no idea how these guys got good ratinsg based upon their complete lack of responsiveness.  Absolutely will send people another direction and not recommend these folks.

Leo was great. Called him at 4:00 on a Friday afternoon and he extended his day to come by the same night. He fixed our water heater for a reasonable price and was very friendly and professional.

These guys are fantastic.  My HVAC system had a strange communication error (between outdoor and indoor units) that has been a problem since the system was installed at great expense (nearly 10k) ten years ago.  Even during the first warranty-covered years, the installers (a different company - not Drymount), never got to the root of the problem; instead, they just kept resetting it, and soon enough it would happen again.  Eventually, I learned how to reset it myself and did that many times over the years.  Finally, this year, Drymount rewired it and solved the problem, apparently for good (it's been about six weeks now and still working beautifully - no more communication errors).  I'd recommend these guys anytime you want your system checked out or worked on.

$500 to snake a drain!! What an absolute rip off. I should have looked more closely at the Yelp reviews before calling but I needed a plumber asap to fix the clogged kitchen drain for my tenant whose husband was on deployment and she was home alone with 3 small children.

Either DB Plumbing is ridiculously expensive or they took advantage of my situation knowing that I was an out of town landlord who couldn't say no since the tenant needed the sink repaired. It was a simple drain blockage that just needed to be snaked. They charged me $500. So beware.

Called for estimate on pressure relief valve and main house water valve repair.  Three other estimates were ~$1100 but this company estimated $720 so I took the chance and hired them.   Turns out there's a single employee (Mehran) in Arlington who's been doing plumbing several years for Bob & Kur but still no license or business truck or uniform or invoice for work completed (hence 4 stars).  Nonetheless, he was friendly, good communicator, had full tool set, on time and professional.  He looked & talked like he had lots of plumbing experience.  The only inconvenience was he had to re-schedule for the next day when he arrived and realized he'd bought the wrong part.  The repair looks excellent, the area was left clean and the price was 30% lower than other estimates.   Despite the lack of license I'd hire him again.

After our roof started leaking, we called several plumbers, and none was willing to come by as quickly as Carlton. Once he came, he spent his time crawling around our attic figuring out what the problem was. While it turned out not to be a plumbing problem, Carlton helped us pinpoint where our roof was leaking and sent us photos to help us with our next steps. He also quickly figured out a leak problem with our kitchen sink. He did this all very professionally and for a very reasonable price. If we ever have more plumbing problems, we'll be sure to reach out to him.

Heil Plumbing has been out to our house in Howard County several times and the work is always really well done and the technicians are professional and communicative. We've had them install a new water pump for the well, fix leaks, and iron out issues with our water heating system.

Each time, they have been great to work with. Their prices are fair, and their service is really top notch. Some members of the industry are clearly happy to fix an issue, collect a check, and be on their way. It's evident Heil Plumbing cares to help make homeowners more knowledgeable and better equipped to make informed decisions. I appreciate that a bunch, and they'll be my go to plumbers for years.

Donzelle was awesome.  We had an emergency plumbing situation (backup flowing up through my tenant's shower drain...pretty gross), and Donzelle was the first person to respond to my requests.  His communication was excellent throughout, his prices were fair, and he responded immediately.  He was also able to work with the tenant to find a time that worked best for everybody for follow-up work.  He didn't try to upsell or pressure us based on the situation and his quality of work was fantastic.  Sent pictures and updates throughout, cleaned up, and my tenant also reported that he was very satisfied.  Super professional, 5 stars.

Extraordinary!!  We had a tricky project -- prep'ing the plumbing on a yacht for a new washing machine.   Even though he saw some non-standard plumbing, Matt used his experience and creativity to save the day.  It was more involved than he expected, but he just identified the problems and solved them.  What a great attitude ... he never doubted that he could work things out.  We recommend highly Opata Plumbing.

Can't recommend Jorge enough.  He made two trips - after we botched the first appt - and then had the character to tell us that we didn't need the work done.  He said that he'd be happy to do it, but that we shouldn't waste our money.  How great is that?

We had a great experience with Champion when they fixed our emergency leak situation within a couple hours. Gus the owner was friendly, quick to respond, arrived on time, had the parts needed, wore a mask, did the fix quickly, left everything clean, and charged exactly what he quoted over the phone. Hopefully we won't have another urgent problem but if we do we'll definitely call Gus again.

Carlos Reed from Sila came out today and was fast, efficient, and knew exactly what he was doing. He didn't try to upsell me at all, gave me some helpful pointers on keeping my HVAC running smoothly. Highly recommend Carlos and Sila!

Technicians are great and knowledgeable on very old systems; however they have repeatedly cancelled my scheduled maintenance same-day for more lucrative emergency appointments so I would not recommend calling them unless it is an emergency.

I called Thomas E. Clark to take a look at my furnace which had stopped pumping warm air into the system. The furnace was working but not sending warm air throughout the system. The tech took a look and the wand used by the furnace to know when to turn on needed to be replaced. Tech told me it would be $199.00 for the service plus $70.00 for the service call. Total $268.00. I researched the part online and it can be purchased for $12.00 to $20.00. Total time the tech was in my home, 45 minutes. The part took roughly 15 minutes to replace. The tech also quoted me another service at $199.00 as well. I guess all services start at $199.00 and go up from there.
I understand the need to charge a service call fee in case nothing is wrong or they cannot fix the problem but to tack on the charge in addition to the service is just unreasonable. I will not be using them again for any services in the future.

I found All Nite because I became frustrated with the plumber I was using at the time. I paid him a fair amount of money to rotoroot a sewer line and it backed up a week later. He wanted to refer me to a buddy to replace the whole sewer line for thousands of dollars. I called around and found Kirk from All Nite. He snaked the line for less than the first guy and it has worked ever since. He saved me thousands of dollars. I have used him a number of times since for a variety of jobs. He has always been fair and reasonable and will discuss different options. Only downside is that because it is a small company, if it is routine work and not an emergency, it might be pushed back a little if someone else has an emergency. But it is well worth it because of their skill, integrity and reasonable cost.
